Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Recap: Sister Act

February 10, 2015 by tamaratattles 295 Comments

RHobh CastIt’s time for more RHOBH! Are you ready? I’m not. So this recap will likely be later than usual. Still setting up. Is that a new opening ? Has Eileen’s always been in an blue evening gown with her hair up? What are they trying to do to her?  Are all of those evening gown things new? I normally zip through but tonight I was uploading pictures.

We are back at the gay mixer. Which reminds me I so wanted to do a post in favor of the whole “my gays” thing but I’ve been busy and hormonal. It could still happen. I think the new younger politically correct gays are being ridiculous.* (* except for @NewJerzeyBoy  who I love despite his PCness on this issue.)

Anyway. I hate when Kyle gets all up in her whining crying voice as much as the next person but I think she is being genuine in those moments. Kim’s talking heads on the other hand are such a put on.  Kim is crying in one corner. and Kyle in the other.  Brandi and her gay roommate finally get the hint and take Kim out of there.

Kim is clearly on something again and Brandi is clearly enabling. We don’t need to keep pointing this out.

Kyle is crying to Lisa and says that Brandi is always spewing wrong information. Vanderpump, in an attempt to commiserate says, ” Now you know how I felt last season.” and Kyle misplaces her anger onto Lisa and yells “This is not about you!” Oh Kyle, people can agree and share a similar sentiment and experience and that does not mean they are making it about themselves. It’s called sharing a similar experience. Lisa is trying to console Kyle despite the misplaced anger. Bravo production decides to play the creepy sepia (ish)  scenes with Kim and Kyle at Kim’s house. Why do they waste so much time reshowing footage like it’s a daytime soap?

Kim, Brandi and the dude, don’t really leave. They sit outside and film some more.

Lisa says that everyone is enabling an addict. Kim has everyone scared and no one wants to deal with it.

RHOBH Lisa Kyle no shit talking

Why are Kyle and Lisa promoting 50 Shades of Gray? I mean I get it’s money but I guess the movie thinks RHOBH viewers are their target demo.  What about Kandi Burruss? LOL. More presales have happened in the south than anywhere else. The most is in Mississippi where sex toys are banned. Or is that Alabama. Anyway, southerners are kinky.  I’m just saying. I think the BH crowd would be worried about getting their hair mussed or having to cover a mark or 12 . /innocent look

Brandi Glanville

Who is Brandi sucking off? What? I’m just saying.  Her life is certainly not interesting enough for one ghostwritten book let alone two. I’m not sure how much money a podcast makes… but she did have Larry King on recently.  I hope that wasn’t the suckee.. Just saying. Something is “fishy” pun intended with her whole situation. She has some good PR people that is for damn sure.

OMG she has Heather McDonald from Chelsea Lately.  Chelsea hates Brandi so either this will go very badly or Heather is desperate now that  Chelsea no longer has a show. Brandi has said many times she wants to be the new Chelsea Handler. She has sucked off  made out with Chelsea’s brother in an attempt to get close to Chelsea, ALLEGEDLY. ACCORDING TO TABLOIDS I HAVE READ. THIS MAY NOT BE TRUE.

RHOBH Yolanda Brandi

Yolanda Foster

Time for Yolanda to try to have an intervention with Brandi. I mean a yoga session. With a really hot black male yogi. I’m going to skip over the comment where Brandi says they will both suck together. Okay, I’m not. That was intentional and real, not drunk (perhaps) Brandi.   Ooh child’s  pose. My favorite.  Brandi has weak ankles and can’t hit any other pose steadily. I can relate. But I used to really love yoga until I ballooned up and now I can’t find my balance anymore. 🙁

After the yogi leaves, Yolanda starts to try to tell Brandi she has a problem. In her talking head, Brandi says that all of this talk about her drinking too much just makes her want to drink more. Because she has the mentality of a 14 year old girl. Sadly she is FORTY TWO.  There are maybe 3 more stops on the train before menopause. When is she going to grow up?

Yolanda says that she is hurt that everyone says that Brandi is an alcoholic. She pauses and says if she is, she will gladly help her. Brandi says “If I was, there is no shame in my game, I would seek help.”  It’s that whole, “No shame” part that makes it clear she has an issue. What she needs is some shame. Or more directly some guilt. But that would require introspection. Yolanda says if that is her problem she can come to her for help. Brandi uses the same excuse she has for seasons….” If that were my problem I would not be able to get up and get the boys to school.”  She should be very careful about what she says because if the boys have a history of missing school or being late? This is totally ammo for Eddie and Leann to yank those boys out of her house.

RHOBH Brandi Yolanda Sister Act

After Brandi says she could not have a successful podcast, book deal, show up for the filmings etc if she were an alcoholic.  Yolanda says, but you could also make the choice not to drink to the point where you become an asshole. Yolanda says she is raising daughters. She can’t be a hypocrite. Brandi says well people say that about your daughter and she is not an alcoholic. Yolanda says, “Who said that about my daughter?” Real answer? No one. Brandi’s answer?  She shrugs and says, “People have been saying that lately. She’s not she made a mistake.”  Yolanda says she has not heard anyone say that about her daughter. Dear god there is still half an hour of this show.

Yolanda says, “Here we go. You are now personally attacking me about my daughter when I am just trying to help you.” Ah, Yolanda may be seeing the light.

Lisa Vanderpump

In the previews or rewind for last week maybe, I heard Max say “I just want to know what generation American I am.” Um, so if you adopt an American baby… Nevermind. Let me not go there. Vanderpump already has me blocked on the twatter for posting about her court cases in accurate detail.  I like Lisa Vanderpump. I just have to be objective when it comes to legal cases.

Lisa and Pandora are shopping for something related to their Sangria launch. She brings up Max’s desire to explore his roots. I think Pandy’s  comments are juvenile. They both cry. Why? He just wants to know his heritage. I can’t really relate to this storyline.

Max and Lisa talk about him seeing his real name. They are going over his heritage. It’s Scandinavian and Irish. Max says he has no need to meet his parents. He’s rich now.

Eileen Davidson

The ladies go to the Burbank Film Festival with Eileen (no addicts invited, and Yolanda is away).  Eileen has had two sister that passed away recently. I’d find out why but I am way behind on recapping. Maybe later. In the filmed scene which could have been a refilm, they point out that both Brandi and Kim are addicts.

All the while, Kyle seems butt hurt that Eileen is at the Burbank Film Festival and doing an interview on what Eileen herself has called a bath mat (with a step and repeat). I find it tacky that Kyle can’t be happy for Eileen. I don’t care if it is on par with the opening of a Burger King. If you job is to be there  and support your on camera friend, why be so nasty and so rude?  The director of the festival doesn’t even know what soap she was won an Emmy for.  IT WAS DAYS OF OUR LIVES, BITCHES!  Not Y&R.  Because DOOL is the best soap on TV. I say that despite having a relative who was a big star on Y&R I think.  Anyway, something for another day.  The Lisas and Kyle can’t seem to get behind an Indie film sort of event in a shopping mall. #eyeroll.  I tell you what. I bought the winning PowerBall

Oh dear God. Eileen! We shan’t talk about this movie ever again. Let’s pretend this never happened.

RHOBH Kim With Kyle Sister Act

Later, Eileen meets with Kyle And Kim  to share about the lost of her sister. She is hoping her story can bring Kyle and Kim together. Eileen says she had four sisters. One died five years ago, and one died four months ago. So she is extremely emotional about sister relationships. Her oldest sister died of a heart attack unexpectedly. The more recent death was from complications from breast cancer. Eileen is really still dealing with it all. She is hoping to bring the two sisters together. Kim acknowledges that Kyle has been there for her despite what Brandi said, but there were still moments she was not there and she is still holding on to that. Kyle says she feels the same way..progress?

Kim then goes on to defend Brandi. I just can’t. Kyle tries to tell her that Brandi brings up her private conversations to everyone. But she is not listening. Kyle is concerned that Kim has shared too much with Brandi and it will come to harm her in the end. Kim looks high in her talking heads where she claims that Kyle is “a little mixed up.”  This whole thing is sad. Kim is doing some REALLY bad acting here about how difficult it was for her to call Brandi and share information.  The cry talking comes into play. Kyle says Brandi says horrible things to her right in front of Kim like the comment about Mauricio not wanting her.  Kim claims she didn’t hear that. Kyle says that is a convenient excuse.

Fighting. I am so behind I can’t recap this. Nothing is resolved and Eileen feels helpless.

Lisa Rinna

She had the :40 with her trying to deal with her teenaged daughter. I love her. Clearly the “normal” stuff is sacrificed for the drama. 🙁

Lisa and Brandi meet for lunch or something in clashing leopard prints. Lisa apparently did one of Brandi’s podcasts so Brandi feels comfortable. Lisa wants to know why Brandi is so mean. What is her core issue? Why is she an addict is basically what she is asking.

Brandi says that Kim has told her she is her best friend. It’s hard for her because she is not a sober companion, and she just has to do her. Lisa points out that Kim is high. Brandi says she just had a hernia and she is just doing the patch. When I paused to type this Brandi is showing all of the physical cues of someone lying.

Lisa points out that Kim is using. Brandi is enabling. Brandi thinks she is protecting her. Brandi knows that Kim is high. Brandi thinks that if she mentions that Kim is high, Kim would die.  Brandi wants Lisa Rinna to talk to Kyle about it.

Next week: There is some sort of surprise party for Vanderpump. Kyle and Kim seem to be fine and running lines together. Oh wait they are in puppet therapy together. Or something. Brandi talks to her *cough* BFF about feeling like she might not need to drink in front of Kim #eyeroll. and the Lisas talk about a possible intervention with Kim but Vanderpump is reluctant.

I think that Kyle’s anxiety over Kim is very real. I think Kim is acting when she does her talking heads, etc. I love Lisa R and her scenes with everyone. Most of all, I love Lisa R’s talking heads. I hate watching these meltdowns of Kyle and Kim. They are too upsetting and depressing for me. Kim is NOT sober.

Am I the only one who finds Lisa Rinna to be fake and silly? She tries so hard to be clever and real and can’t seem to pull it off. She seems horribly uncomfortable and her “lines” on the show seem scripted (like on a Soap?) Kim is a waste of space and so is her fellow addict and enabler ,Brandi. Kyle is annoying, selfish and obnoxious..why am I watching this dreck? Yolanda must still be very sick because she looks washed out and her flat face is not attractive. Again, why am I watching this show? Eileen was obviously told to set up a scene with the sisters but I still like her the most of all of these awful, useless women. I was bored stiff after wasting a precious hour of my life and I still don’t know why I am watching this? Tamra I admire you for recapping this mess and I sympathize with you because this is such a waste of time and energy.

Just because Lisa isn’t flashing her wares, insulting everyone, crying in every scene or just being a hot mess, doesn’t make her fake and silly. Frankly I would take fake and silly over the expectation of over the top housewives Bravo has created.

Brandi’s blog is up and i have just one question. Does anybody believe that Brandi wrote that? The write does not even attempt to write in Brandi’s “voice.” Does this mean that Brandi has conceded that she is a functional illiterate who cannot string two sentences together, or that she needs a professional writer to attempt to defend her behavior? Oh, boy.
She just makes herself look worse, and i guess she thinks we are all stupid.

I think Kyle talked Kim into doing this show not just for a steady income, but to hope it would give her something to do and keep her sober. You can tell Kim is extremely embarrassed and afraid of being labeled an addict-or is looking at her addiction as people will label her an addict.

Brandi was real quick to throw kim under the bus to lisa r, brandi is no ones true friend.
Jack hole of the week should go to bravo. I really can’t believe they are making Kim’s addiction the front and center storyline. Kim needs to be off the show not exploited for ratings or money

In light of the tabloids exploiting Bobbi Kristina’s death… It makes Bravo look even worse. Especially if Kim doesn’t pull out of this. And Kyle and Kim are still estranged… so … why isn’t Bravo’s legal team pointing out another suicide would not be a good look?

I wonder if there is some family secret that will be exposed if Max finds out the identity of his real parents. He looks SO MUCH like LVP’s hubby. IMHO, that would explain Pandora’s emotion. Maybe she is in on the family secret, if there is indeed a family secret.

I thought the same thing, there seems to be some bad blood with the biological parents and Lisa/Ken/Pandy are terrified it will be uncovered. They are either trying to protect Max or themselves…or the whole thing is a case of way overblown egos and possessiveness.

I think unless you have an adopted sibling you just cannot get it. My oldest brother is adopted, my parents went through some very tough teenage years with him. Things did not go his way it was I’m going to find my real parents they would let me do this or they would let me have that. Even now I am 42 and he is 48 I would be really upset if he wanted to find his biological family, we are his family, we are the ones who have been there for all of his ups and downs.

It is hard to explain, but I totally get Pandora’s reaction. Just the thought of him wanting to look for them makes me tear up.

Thanks for your perspective. Even without an adopted sibling, I totally understood Pandora’s emotion. Max is her brother! I would fight tooth & nail for my brother so the thought that they could lose him (or that he would even question their connection) would naturally scare her. I found it touching & sweet. “He’s ours.”

And I’m really glad LVP explained her feelings more clearly in this episode. Last week she tiptoed around her feelings, hiding behind wit & jokes. It was probably really good for Max to watch her say that she wasn’t happy about it but her feelings couldn’t matter in his choices. And that she’s been scared of this his whole life. Hopefully, this episode will heal some of Max’s wounds. Maybe he’ll be able to grow up a little after seeing how much his Mum truly loves him.

I feel no pity for Kim. She is an adult (albeit an addicted one) and she knows what she should and shouldn’t do to gain back her sobriety. SHe is on the show for career opportunities and money so I don’t feel sorry for her. I find her ridiculous and nasty. She and her sister share that trait in common…they are both spoiled brats with the desire to be seen as talanted actresses. It will NEVER happen because they both suck.

100% with you Merilyn. Kim is 50 yrs ago here, it’s time to stop having the mentality of a ten year old and take accountability for the mess she has created. Not just with her drug/alcoholism but how she has pitted her sister and her so-called best friend against each other. She needs to grow up. And I prefer at this point she needs to leave the show or at least be downgraded from the big bright lights of being a housewife.

Vanessa, as someone who has an adopted older brother it is very emotional, even now in our 40s, I would not want him to look for his “real family” we are his real family. We are the ones who have been here for all of his highs and lows. In his teens and early 20s, he used his being adopted as a weapon, fighting with us, well its not like you are my real sister, fighting with our parents, I’m going to find my real parents, they would not treat me like this, they would not ground me, etc… I’ve never thought of him in any other way as my brother. When our father died 3 years ago, someone actually said, well we hope everyone stays connected and a family, you know with your brother being adopted and all. I was shocked, that someone would say that, like our parents were the only thing making us a family. He is my brother. Like Pandora said he is ours.

So I completely get her tears.

Yo still thought she was the only one being a true friend to Brandi. Bella’s DUI is a very touchy subject for Yo, and I hope this happened before she lost the ability to read, think, text, or watch TV because Brandi just showed Yo her true colors.

I’m not a huge Yolanda fan, but one thing I will never criticize her on is her parenting skills! She and Mohammad have raised some genuinely nice children. They have all the reasons in the world to act like elitist over privilege brats and don’t. From what I have read, Gigi and Bella act like normal well adjusted young women. Although we have not seen a lot of Anwar, he seems to be a kind gentleman. Brandi is scum for ever mentioning Bella and alcoholism! I can honestly say that there have been numerous times when I, as a young adult, could of gotten a DUI but never did. Bella screwed up and knows it. Leave her alone.

I wonder if Brandi was referring to a fentanyl patch when she said Kim was “only” using the patch. I have had two people in my life o.d on those patches. The only other pain patch I can think of is a morphine patch which Kim does not need either. I’m guessing the patch is one of the two because we certainly know it isn’t a nicotine patch. Kim sucks on that e cigarette like a fiend.
Your comment about Brandi needing some shame is an excellent observation.

YES! You caught that too! Sorry, but no way on earth is a FENTANYL patch appropriate for post op hernia pain. NO. WAY. She’s swiping them from Monty. They give fentanyl for chronic pain or cancer pain, and definitely not to an admitted drug addict.

Yes they are very strong. My son is on them and he has recently had his leg amputated in 2 places which involved 3 surgeries not a hernia or a broken rib. He’s dealing with constant severe pain and also phantom limb pain. None of the conditions that she claimed to have would warrant that strong a drug.

No Dr. is prescribing Kim those patches, if that is indeed what she’s on (and I strongly suspect she is) fentanyl patches are typically given to cancer patients for their pain, so betcha she’s getting them from Monty. If you go by what she said was wrong with her in the hospital, there isnt a thing wrong with her that required a fentanyl patch.

I would be willing to bet it is the Duragesic (fentanyl) patch, and she’s taking them from Monty. Which could explain why he took off just before Poker Night. BuTrans (buprenorphine) is another one. Then there is the LidoDerm (lidocaine) patch. Unless Kim goes to one of those docs who is an Rx mill, no one gets a prescription for temporary pain relief from a broken rib and hernia repair.

My dad’s been on the Duragesic patch for years. Chronic back pain. I had to fight to get it for him. His doc was worried about sedation. He went from barely being able to walk hunched over a walker to getting out and about with a cane in a week. Now it helps with his 3rd recurrence of colon cancer. Either patients suffer because doctors are afraid to prescribe narcotics, or you have doctors that give them out like Halloween candy.

I was thinking the same thing. Her ex-husband is dying of cancer, which means he’d likely be prescribed Fentanyl patches. Otherwise, she’d have NO business as an addict using drugs that heavy. I think Fentanyl is a zillion times stronger than morphine or heroin. Scary, scary stuff.

I agree TT. People don’t want to see that Kyle has a heart, even for just one season when it’s about life or death on saving her sister’s life. We already have said though Kyle does need personal help on her own even if Kim wants to stay down the path of pill popping. Kyle has to get her emotional health in order. She has kids, husband, and a business to attend too as well. She has to be there for them as well.

Kyle is the baby of the family and grew up with an alcoholic mother and addict sister. It’s typical of children growing up around addicts to be people-pleasers and control-freaks (as in thinking if they can make everything “perfect” no one starts drinking/using/fighting).
I don’t like her much for a lot of reasons, but I can’t fault her for behaving exactly as she was, basically, raised to behave in these situations, other than saying she needs to recognize it & change it. But it’s not “fake” IMO.

This must be really embarrassing for Kim’s children to have to watch their mother go through this in front of millions of people.

But no too good to be true. Brandi though I think when she will get back into a corner at the reunion when it’s her and Kyle arguing she will then deflect off her and bring out some shady and dirty secrets what Kim told her. And that’s when Kyle/Kim are gonna go at. That’s my early prediction and I think I’m sticking to it. Because Brandi doesn’t believe she’s doing anything wrong and won’t take accountability for her own behavior.

Kim, Kyle and Kathy’s mother was a terrible person who pushed her daughters to either marry very rich or get acting jobs to support their nearly broke family. Kim excelled and got the big jobs so she was the “goat” who supported all of them until Kathy married a Hilton. The sisters have resented each other for ages and it all goes back to their mother. This is a doomed relationship and Kim is never going to forgive her sister for having to work through her childhood to support Kyle’s lifestyle as well as her own mother. They have a lot of history which has been well documented so Brandi can read all about it in reputable books by respected authors. Just look up books about this family and you will find all the info that you need.

With this being a relapse and Kim having access to Monty’s “cancer drugs”, could Brandi be referring to more than Kim just being terribly upset at being outted by Brandi? What has been said by Kim to Brandi during all these late night phone calls she has supposedly made?

I think its so dangerous to continually ignore Kim’s obvious relapse. Of course it has to be handled with some care, but it has to be confronted . I cant fault Brandi for admitting she knows Kim isnt sober. Lisa R. is right, this cowardly attitude is enabling a very sick woman to her destruction. Thats not helping her , its life or death time. Im surprised Kyle would waste precious time arguing with Kim about Brandi or her own hurt feelings, while the obvious pressing problem goes unspoken. Prescription drugs kill more than street drugs do, especially when mixed with alcohol. Not saying or doing anything, Is throwing Kim under the bus in my opinion.

RESPONSIBILITY is the word here. Kim needs to take responsibility for herself. It is up to HER to get sober and no one else can accomplish that. She is being let off the hook. She is aware of her problems and has been through rehab on more than one occasion. I blame her for not getting the help that she KNOWS that she needs. Kim is a coward. Kyle is NOT responsible for Kim’s addiction and I am betting that she and her family have tried to intervene on MANY occasions. What is an addict doing taking care of a terminal cancer patient? Ridiculous.

I have a suspicion that the *one* time Brandi called Kyle (because Brandi twists and exaggerates everything) about Kim’s late night pleas for help, Kyle probably said something to the effect of only Kim can save Kim from her addiction. This is truth, and anyone who’s been through the cycle with an addict more than a couple times knows that there is NOTHING that you can do to help the situation, and in fact indulging them in what they want as Brandi is doing will only make things worse.

I found it so repugnant for Kim to say in her confessionals that Eileen needs to butt out of she and Kyle’s relationship, but here she is, that has inserted Brandi into her sister drama! Like excuse me, you drop our interloper first Kim and Kyle can then drop Eileen/Lisa R away from you twos drama. Until Kim should be appreciative Eileen and Lisa R are coming from a good place. Where Brandi is only trying to get the goods and drop you once it’s fit for her liking!

Lisa R. is right about everything she says about Kim. It boils down to Kim is an addict and she has everyone running scared and walking on eggshells to not talk about it. In past seasons, when anyone questioned Kim’s behavior (bathroom all night, sleeping all day, missing planes, not showing up, incoherent) they were viciously attacked (by Kim and Kyle both) for daring to mention it.

Kyle thinking that if Brandi wasn’t involved she & Kim would be OK was laughable and sad. No, Kim would still be an addict and it would be someone else (or some dog) “causing problems” between them. That entire conversation between them with the “this is how I FEEL!” was like they were transported back to grade school fighting over who loves whom more/who is the better sister/blah, blah, blah. Let.It.Go. At least Kyle seemed like she was starting to see the light when she said in her talking head that “how many times are we going to have to go through this?” I hope it sticks, for both their sake’s.

Brandi running through her list of all the crap she does that she allegedly couldn’t accomplish if she was an alcoholic is typical addict rationalization — getting kids dressed and offed to school? meetings and a podcast? Bitch, please. There are functioning alcoholics who hold down jobs where they work 50, 60 hours a week.

Watching Brandi turning shit around to act and like Yolanda was attacking her when she was offering to help her, made me want to knock my head against the wall — a conversation with Brandi is like talking to a moron.

I understand where Pandy & Lisa are coming from re: Max. My aunt & uncle adopted (because they couldn’t have kids) and I know if their children wanted to know who their birth parents were they couldn’t help but think, in some way, that it was a rejection of them as parents and/or they somehow made them feel like they didn’t “belong” in the family. Extrapolating that, Pandy may fear Max doesn’t think of himself as really Pandy’s brother. Those kinds of feelings of guilt/fear wouldn’t be justified objectively, but it would still exist due human nature of defaulting to feelings of inadequacy.

Kyle’s whole attitude about the Burbank film festival is quintessentially why I can never like her — if she had a crappy sci-fi no-budget short showing there she would be *livid* if any of the others mocked the film festival like she did.

I dont blame Kyle though , .from suffering burn out, but Lisa R. is doing and saying what needs to be said to save a persons life. Its not a time for politeness or apathy unless you just want to wait for the phone call.

Lisa R is a complete stranger to Kim. She is saying the things that Kathy & Kyle and the rest of Kim’s family and friends should have said a long, long time ago, IMO. And yes it is easy to get burned out dealing with an addict — I know from personal experience – but the solution isn’t to film a reality show with her. Kyle needs to take the heat & tell Kim the things Lisa R says (even if that means being called a “bad sister” by Kim), stop filming with Kim to try to get her in a real rehab that makes her take personal responsibility for what she does (instead of blaming the thug boyfriend, Monty’s illness etc) and — most of all– Kyle needs to stop giving a fuck about what anyone else thinks of her for doing what needs to be done. It could be the last chance Kyle has to try to get Kim to admit she needs and actually get the help she needs.

The cunning that addicts think they possess becomes less so as the relapse after relapse becomes all too familiar and the same b.s. wit a different spin comes into play. Kim is losing her touch. I think she went to rehab the last time because Bravo wanted her to and or paid for it. But she didn’t stay the whole time and follow through with the process. Kim would need a long term sober living environment to even have a chance of making it. She must not even have a sponsor, because the sponsor would have fought her tooth and nail to let Monty move into the house with his treasure trove, and the whole group would have jumped down her throat. Kim thinks she is absolved from all “crimes” committed that she can’t remember which is 50% of her life. No doubt her kids have some serious issues, but she is the teary Mom waving in the driveway waving her hanky as they happily go off to college or grown up lives. Meanwhile, what is she doing to help Chad who was baker-acted in 2014 and is still living at home at 16 yrs. of age. Focus on him, Kim. Just once, put somebody’s needs ahead of your own. I see right through you.

PLEASE tell me that I am not the only one that caught Brandi’s accidental- on-purpose side-eyed comment about Kim’s patch. Saying that all Kim is on is her patch then made an oopsie face. I’m fairly certain that she isnt referring to a nicotine patch. If she is referring to fentanyl (in in the context of the conversation, that’s how I took it) that explains SO MUCH. And as an addict, if she is using fentanyl patches (which as a cancer patient Monty would absolutely have) OH BOY.

Youre right. Most substance abuse people have a painful past, or a defining moment , that impacted them to the point , that they took the path of numbing the pain. It tends to be sexual, emotional, physical abuse or neglect.

But every time Kim isn’t committed to staying sober leads me to believe it has to been something dark that happened in Kim’s past probably way darker than “the goddamn house”. Even in Kyle’s blog for this week she said there were things that happened pre-housewives that she doesn’t want to discuss to keep between she and her sister.

Kim obviously had an unconventional upbringing. She lacks normal social skills. I’m not sure about sexual abuse, but running around Hollywood in the late 70’s – early 80’s makes me think it’s possible. I would put money on the fact that Kim has found herself in a physical abusive relationship. Probably when she was full out drinking. I just suspect that there is something in her past, that at 50, she still has never dealt with.

Even with the flippant comment about Bella, Yolanda stayed on track and was very forthright and dignified inv her approach. I liked when she said “yes you can say and do what you want but is that the energy you want to put out in the world for your children?” Brandi missed the boat, in protesting she does everythng for her kids. Its not just about money and things, its also about setting an example , and yes it is about the energy you put out there ,that comes back to you ,and to those you love. My niece, (her oldest daughter) was the one who staged the intervention for her mother and I really admire her for it Even though , her mom died about a year later,, they had quality time with her sober and she died with some dignity intact, and there was less guilt than there would have been , if there had been no attempt .made . Im watching Kim turn from a vibrant attravtive woman with self respect, into a shell of herself and its so sad.

I would have too and she didn’t hurt her. Kyle’s retelling of the story is bs. Shes blowing it out of proportion . I see Kyle get all excited when Kim has clearly fallen off the wagon. Her ex who has cancer is living with her! Probably not a great idea. So she’s taken some of his pain meds. But Lisa insisting they have a intervention and proclaiming that Kim is an addict is stupid. We all know this , what she’s saying is old news. They’re all over reacting. I feel like Kyle gets excited when Kim puts herself and has fallen off the wagon on camera bc she gets the drama she needs to stay on the show but it’s not her own personal drama that gets aired. Kim has obviously asked Kyle not to say anything on camera like she did in last season and yet, Kyle persists. Brandi did say horrible things to Kyle but she was provoked my Kyle. She was. And I think Kyle goes in too hard on Kim. She’s makes it about her. Just my opinion. I’m with Kim.. Eileen , stay out of it. These women have to get caught up. Haven’t they watched past seasons? Will you still tell Lisa Rina to shut up if Kim dies of an overdose? Lisa has seen two of Harry’s brothers die of alcoholism. Courageous for speaking out. Kyle is used to the family dynamics of protecting Kim’s addiction and doesnt know what to do because she is scared of alienating Kim.

My brothers wife died in her sleep after abusing pain meds for many years. She had gotten sober, but the damage to her body still took her down. This is life or death crunch time ,so I totally understand Lisa R. When you see what these drugs do to a person and the pain their kids go through when their parent dies from it, you know its not about ego or idle gossip. I applaud Lisa R.

I think Brandi asking Lisa to speak with Kyle was actually a good move. Just wish a woman’s sobriety was not used as a plot line on a reality tv show. Makes me feel dirty for watching it, and I’m not sure how many more episodes I’ll be watching. I hate to support this shit fest with my viewing.

Lisa R is right this show has coddled Kim’s addiction for too long and they need to quit it! I think Kyle is a nice girl. I don’t understand why people write here that she is a phoney. She is trying to protect her sister from both public humiliation & also worried about her life. Why isn’t Bravo doing something about it? Kim looks like a bag of crap. Its sad .. its not entertaining.. she is obviously off her head. We don’t want to watch her slowly kill herself for our weekly entertainment.

The trouble & upset that Brandi caused Lisa V last year was disgraceful. I adore Lisa V & Kyle should definitely apologise & acknowledge that she was in wrong to jump on that bandwagon last year.

Kyle needs to get her sister away from Brandi who seems to thrive on the drama. I don’t for a minute believe Brandi is a genuine friend for Kim. Kim needs her sister. Nobody needs Brandi.

Sadly i haven’t been able to watch the show yet but going on Tamara’s recap hoping that Yolanda has seen the light and will be booting Brandi’s skanky butt out of her life some time soon. Yolanda is a classy lady so don’t understand what she gets with an embarrassing “friend” like Brandi.

I think Kyle’s concern is genuine, but there is still an element of “playing it up for the camera”. I do not understand why this is being filmed for the entire world to see. Ms. Hilton should get both of her sisters together, off camera and have them resolve their family issues. This is not something that should be an integral part of the show.

You are talking about Kathy Hilton here. First place winner a few years back of worst mother in the world, right in front of Kris Kardashian and Tan Mom. She probably alleviates her guilt by throwing money at Kim and Kim’s children. She doesn’t want to get involved in this. She thinks she is on a whole other plane of existence, like royalty. She was invited to meet the Queen of England so she could see her new china pattern, you know.

@Gessi so true. At first I thought Kathy would be like that big sister and second mom to Kim/Kyle in all this but hell no. She probably has fell for Kim’s con job of manipulation as well. I’m willing to bet damn good money she and Kyle don’t have a great relationship neither (Kyle even hinted at this too that Kim/Kathy tend to be closer). Plus Kyle isn’t going to be the human ATM anymore and Kathy has to fianically support Kim as well because Kim probably guilt tripped her too “My child star money took care of you too Kathy. My favorite part of the episode was when Brandi turned on Yolanda, saying that people were calling her daughter an alcoholic. Yolanda should have knocked Brandi’s teeth in but barring that, I thought she handled it really well. She actually called Brandi on it. “I’m trying to help you & you turn on me?” (paraphrased). She stayed calm but pointed out that Brandi’s go-to reaction is to low-blow hurt anyone she feels is threatening her, even when they’re not. Not that it will make a difference. Brandi is a lost cause. But it somewhat redeemed Yolanda.

Bravo should send Kim to rehab after they finish exploiting her. Share some of the money they are making off of Kim’s drug habit. Kim has the typical addict behavior of jealousy towards a Kyle that addicts can get towards a person who is not on drugs. There is always one person in an addicts life that they are mad at for not being on drugs and Kyle is Kim’s person. I like Kyle, but understand why she will never be a fan favorite as long as she continue s to participate in Kim’s addiction being played out on camera, people are going to continue to not like Kyle and see her as fake. The broken cannot help the broken. Kyle needs help herself, the blind leading the blind. Totally agree with Lisa R.’s assessment about the phoniness of Kyle not want ting to talk about the addiction. Kyle may not be the addict, but Kim is smarter then Kyle even when she is high. She has been manipulating Kyle for years and kyle still does not get it. Thank God for Mauricio, it would have been worse.

Kim and her family are trying to cover up her addictions because she’s trying to get work as an actress. She got a small role on the TV show Revenge. If she or anyone admit to her being an addict she will never get work again. Just ask Lindsay Lohan. She needs the money from RHOBH and now it’s showcasing her issues and hurting her chances but it’s a steady gig that pays the bills.

Pandy was crying because she knew that would please her mom and she would continue to reap loads of perks and financial benefits from her. There is no threat to her as a sibling. A mother she is not and it showed me that she was just appeasing mom per usual. The favorite biological daughter. She should have been more supportive of her brother. It must be difficult for him or any adopted child to come to terms with this as an adult child. Where’s all the empathy for him? I understand lisa quitetly feeling pain but she shouldn’t malign Pandy with that pain. Maybe a private professional therapist would be a better place for Lisa to voice her concerns not the son’s sibling.

I think Pandoras tears were more for herself, for not being the center of her moms attention for a second. I could be wrong about this, but their family feels very cold to me in relation to Max.

oghousewife, I can see some validity to Angel(?)’s comment. My father was a functional alcoholic. I was his only child who came late in life and the Apple of his eye. My father was still drinking when my first son was born. I came home for a visit and he got drunk and became belligerent. I looked at him and said that I had lived with him being a drunk my entire life but my son didn’t have to do that. I also told him that I would not be coming back until he decided that his life was more important than the alcohol. I packed up and went home. I talked to my mother a week later and she said my father had not had another drink. He never had another drink from that day til the day he died. Sometimes 1 person can make a difference.

Kyle is in a constant state of panic. I would be too. Kim is embarrassing her own children and I as their aunt would like to shield them from further ridicule. Bad idea for Kim yo be on the show. Kyle probably regrets her hand in that.

i dont see Kyle being fake. she outed her sister once on tv and kim, her daughters and the rest of the family probably let her have it for doing it. so they probably have family guidelines as to how much they can say on tv about family problems. they were raised to keep all the family addictions secret from their mothers alcohol abuse to kims drug and alcohol addictions.
But that doesnt extend to what kim is telling brandi about her family issues. Her life compared to her sisters who are still married to wealthy men and seemed to have loving relationships with their husbands probably makes her depressed and jealous. After all, she was the star of the family. She had it all at one time, fame fortune and plenty of male suitors. So she looks around now and feels it shouldnt be this way. Kathy seems removed so she doesnt get the brunt of jealous anger, Kyle does.
So she tells Brandi all her one sided drug addled feelings about Kyle and instead of being a true friend and trying to help her mend her family and work through her feelings she tells her that her sister doesnt love her and wants to harm her. that she is jealous of her and wants to see her fall on tv.
Kyle was only trying to point our that Brandi is vaguely mentioning their private conversations each time they get into an argument and that one day she is going to spill all your business when it suits her. Just like she told the national viewing audience about the patch that she is on. all the family business will come out through Brandi.
I commend Yolanda with how she handled Brandi but i would be livid if my CHILD was portrayed as an alcoholic on tv . Brandi has no boundaries.
I dont think its fair to blame Kyle for her sister making herself the focus of the show with her addiction. I sincerely believe Kim continues to come back to the show for the check. She needs the money. Hopefully there is a financial goal that she is trying to reach so she can go to rehab and bow out of reality tv.

At first when Kyle outted Kim as an alcoholic I was like “Oh shit bad move Kyle.” But that was then this is now. I think Kyle’s intention was to provide that tough love to get Kim into rehab finally which didn’t happen until the following the season. Kim played into what the fans of the show thought of that moment and she didn’t get help til something in her made her weak up and go get help. Even then, Kim has been one bit sober in my opinion. Detoxed maybe but never sober.

Good plan Brandi especially after filling Kim’s head of how Kyle has been there “zero” times and there is “crazy jealousy” there. Oh yeah and they “hate each other”. Some of us want to see Kyle put on her big girl shapewear drawls and set Kim and Brandi in place and refuse to react. Kyle has got to learn that people will f with you because they can. Lisa V was trying to school her but she got so upset. I speak from experience from having a baby sister who came back from Duke college in the nineties with a degree and a coke habit. She is sober now 13/years but I was a psychotic wreck trying to fix her for the family. Listen, Kyle has to protect herself and let Kim bottom out. She has got to shut the door unless she is rehabilating. Not fair to Kyle’s kids to see mom act the damn psycho while aunt is high. Shut the door Kyle. Brandi will move on from Kim. Pandora on the other hand, I would put money on the fact that she is an insufferable spoiled brat, and her husband reminds me of a sober Scott Disick. “Pandy” really gets on my nerves and comes across to me as an entitled bitch. Like she REALLY works for Lisa.

It seems like there is a pretty universal desire almost, to know where you come from. Why isnt this accepted from Max? None of the family knows how it feels to be adopted, or how it feels to Max. I dont give a damn about how a biological sibling feels about it. Its not their journey. They shouldnt be so self centered, and cant possibly know how it feels, so should shut the fuck up about it and be supportive. Its only the family that hasn’t been so great, that should have to worry about losing the person. Id be more open to hearing from people who have been adopted, not the siblings whose only concern is “how does it effect me?”.

Great recap! I should have hit the gym with this episode….I feel like I wasted an hour of my life…def not one of the best eps. I have always liked Kyle, Kim not as much. Feel really bad that she doesn’t get it about her sister. My advice is, google addiction/recovery then find a support group. FA is a really good one. It’s a 12 step for people who have family + loved ones who are addicts. Nothing else to say on BG, I’ll just keep emailing + tweeting Bravo to get rid of her and keep hope alive. Love Rinna and Eileen to pieces. Hands down the classiest of HW’s. Love Yo too. Eileen @eileen_davidsontweeted about her indie film:

I completely understand Vanderpump and pandora being upset. I’m adopted and while this was never a secret in my family, I were never “labeled” adopted. We just didn’t discuss it. I knew who my birth mother was and choose not to have a relationship with her. As I became and adult I slowly started talking to her and allowed her to be a part of my life. I don’t call her mother and I have made it abundantly clear that I don’t view her as such. But it was/is extremely hard for my siblings to understand that I’ve allowed her to be part of my life. My mother says it doesn’t bother her but I’m not sure I believe that either. I get their pain. They are worried that I will replace them. They have been my life since I was little. They don’t understand why I would want “this stranger” to be in my life. It’s hard for everyone.

And in saying that I understand Pandora and I don’t find her comments juvenile.

I knew that Brandi would throw Kim under the bus but didn’t think it would be so early in the season— I actually felt pity for Kim when Brandi told Lisa R. how sad it was that Kim called her her best friend since she doesn’t have many girlfriends. Then she “slips” and tells Lisa R about the patch–but did anyone notice when Lisa was talking about Kim’s addiction and told brandi “somethings gonna happen—somethings already happened”….Brandi then cut her off and said- kind of under her breath but loud enough to hear–“more than you’ll even know”. Now that’s looking out for your friend Brandi.

How many people or dogs are Kim’s best friend? I’ve heard her say Kyle, Kinglsey, Brandi, Monty, her daughter Kimberly, her ex-con ex- boyfriend and now Brandi. Sorry- that was random but it irks me when a woman pushing 50 is acting like a 12 year old.

Same exact thought Jeannie. Brandi is no one’s friend, not even Kim’s. If this doesn’t convince Kim Brandi doesn’t have her best interest I don’t know what will.

If we’re talking about what “can” Kyle do, can she just for once, stop blaming an outside person as the reason Kim acts as she does? At least if the sisters are fighting, Kim’s being kept awake and can’t leave the room to take whatever it is she’s taking.

And for any family member who decides to shut-the-door and walk away until their loved one hits bottom, make sure you’ve made peace with the greater than 50% chance they will die. Hitting bottom is not a precursor to getting the right help.

Make sure you’ve said farewell. My friend died waiting for his family to kick in the door and haul his ass to rehab for the 3rd time. He knew they were having a family meeting to decide what to do. When they didn’t arrive, he knew they’d given up. So he did too.

sorry. Had to say this. Makes me angry.

So everyone that knows Kim should put her self inflicted problem ahead of real problems. Kim’s 16 year old son probably needs some guidance but hey Kim needs constant reassurance that she is cared for by people fighting over her? Her ex husband is waiting for his end to come but lets focus a little more time on Kim’s 8th relapse because this 50 year old woman needs to feel special today. Sorry, there are much greater and more relevant issues for Kim’s family and friends yo deal with. Kim needs to get her butt in a rehab and then appologize to all she has wronged.

Yea, in my hurried typing it might sound like I mean they should keep fighting. (I was being a smart ass when saying that fighting btw Kim & Kyle at least keeps Kim occupied. Didn’t mean to sound like fighting equals love. If I did, I’d need an intervention.) But what I mean is keep fighting for those you love who are addicted. Even if, in your example, that means focusing on those the addict can’t care for. Like the son and the terminally ill ex. Fighting for, not fighting with. Bc when you give up fighting for their sobriety, be at peace with it and say goodbye.

I totally agree with you. I was told by well meaning friends to let my son “hit bottom” but death as a possible result was absolutely unacceptable. I never gave up, and after numerous relapses he’s sober, educated and most of all, alive. The difference with Kim is that she’s so much older and each relapse is a step closer to never waking up. Kyle should stop bitching about Brandi and that family needs to get involved OFF CAMERA if they really care about Kim’s survival. At the very least, get her off of the show. I get the feeling Kyle’s biggest concern is that Brandi may have heard some family secrets, and doesn’t want Brandi blabbing.

And I agree; get that Kim off camera. It just seems to exacerbate the “hiding behind a facade for the camera” behavior that Kim, Kyle & Kathy clearly learned at a young age.

If they’re going to do an intervention, it better be with Kim’s loved ones NOT the ladies. That would be a disaster. Kim’s kids are probably the only ones that could help her make a change. Kim needs a reason to get well, not having the ladies attack her actions. She wouldn’t see them as being concerned, just nosey. And Kyle needs to leave Kim be, or quit crying and playing the blame game. Just tell her you love and want to help her.

I cant help but think Lisa V.’s new story line about Max is to generate sympathy. She was always the beloved, and she lost a lot of fans recently. I could be wrong, but there’s something so fake about the whole thing. You couldn’t pay me to put this sensitive subject on tv.

Love or hate Brandi, I think she’s overwhelmed with the info she has about Kim. She knows she’s out of her league on how to help Kim, and wants to pass the torch without hurting her. LOVE Eileen and felt bad at the reactions from her “friends” at the movie. I would have cheered her no matter my opinion of it.

Some ‘ride or die’ friend Brandi is. It sounds like she’s saying she got stuck with Kim somehow…that she didn’t sign on for all of Kim’s fucked up problems, and she sure didn’t sign on to be a ‘sober companion’. She’s been dealing with Kim for six months (or so) and the weight of being Kim’s babysitter is probably getting a little old by now. Maybe it’s time to pass the Kim torch back over to Kyle, but make it look like a third party initiated it, to keep Brandi looking like Kim’s ‘ride or die’ friend. When really all Brandi wants is to unload Kim and all her baggage because she is a total pain in the ass.

I wish Yo would reflect on how LVP tried to take the wine bottle from Brandi last season (while Yo and Brandi were running around late at night) and realize that Lisa was trying to help Brandi over a year earlier. I guess I am the type of person who needs an apology, and until Yo apologizes to Ken and Lisa on the show, I can not really get past it. Personally, I feel very sorry for Yo dealing with her health issues. I also was impressed with how Yo handled Brandi.

I think I can understand how Lisa V and Pandora may have been feeling a bit. My older sister was adopted. My father was our mother’s first boyfriend but they broke up and my mother married another man. They couldn’t have children so they adopted my sister. He died and after 20 years my father and mother reconnected, married and I was born 15 months later. My mother never showed any difference between my sister and me and I knew from early on my sister was adopted. After we were both grown, my sister’s biological sister found my sister. It threw me for a loop. I was upset and jealous. I was so afraid that I was going to lose my ONLY sister to her real family. Fortunately it didn’t happen. We loved each other through it, but it was a real fear for me.

Brandi almost admitted it to Lisa R in the end when she said “If Kim thought we were questioning her sobriety she would die” I think FINALLY we see It has hit Brandi she is in over her head & this is way more than bickering sisters & who got more points that week. They need to stop enabling Kim & stay firm or they will be at her funeral.

Then after , I thought she looked great, rested filled out and happy, so pretty. Now that shes back on drugs again , she looks older overnight, anguished and a wreck. I dont reallt care about what people look like, but goes to show you these meds, prescription or otherwise wreak such havoc on a persons physical and mental health. Id much rather deal with my problems in another way, and hope Kim gets back on track again.

Everyone does remember Brandi has been loud and proud about her love for xanax. Have you any idea what that’s like mixed with alcohol and no food? And I think a lot of her “give a fuck attitude” comes from the lexapro giving her big balls. I know bc I was a Brandi for a while in college only with Zoloft and no xanax. I could probably count on one hand how many classes I went to that year.
