Kandi on the reak

I am not sure I can get through this ratchet show. I really hate this show. Sherri Shepherd is a co-host. I hate her wig line. It’s only slightly better hair than Nene’s ramen noodles.  I’m surprised that Sherri is on the show at this time since the surrogate who carried her baby was just interviewed on a night time tabloid show. Apparently, since Sherri didn’t claim the baby the put the surrogate’s name on the birth certificate as the mother. She claims she will be asked for child support. I don’t know how much of that I believe.  But with all  of that in the news, she should probably lay low.

Kandi comes out looking cute and spins some ridiculous wheel to answer a question. Hers lands on “biggest pet peeve.”  Kandi says it drives her insane when people call her Candace. People assume that Kandi is short for Candace and it’s not.

Kandi is asked if she was airing out her own dirty laundry in some of her hit songs.  She says “Gurl… you know I was. I look at some of those songs like it was my personal diary.”  The girls want to know who “No Scrubs” is about but she is not saying.

How is your business manager handling the fact that Todd is in the picture now. ” Kandi gets that high pitched voice she gets when she is not telling the whole truth. She says that everyone is on the same page again. Kandi said it took her a second for her to get used to having a husband. Kandi says she is used to making all the decisions. She is not used to considering asking someone else what they think. Now she has to consider her husband’s feelings.

They ask about pregnancy rumors. She does not look pregnant to me. She says they are trying.

Kandi talks about Kandi Koated Knights and Todd’s TV production experience has really helped that show get to the next level.

I cannot express how ghetto this show is. They play some game with baskets on their backsides and they have to dump out the peaches. They are essentially twerking the peaches out of their baskets. SMH.  I can’t believe this show has not been cancelled yet.

Thankfully that is the end of Kandi’s segments.

Her songs are a “personal diary”? No wonder she’s the only one who sings them!

I can;t stand Sherri. Her bum of a husband is looking for child support. The surrogate already has kids she is supporting. Not a good idea to be a surrogate

The father wants the mother to be financially responsible for their child and you call him the bum? I’d say the mother who doesn’t want anything to do with her ordered baby is the bum.

I read that the dad went on medicaid when the baby was born with some medical problems, so the surrogate is afraid the state will sue her for child support. Some states will automatically pursue child support on behalf of the child if they are receiving some type of government assistance. I think she is wrong for not claiming this baby. She may not have used her egg, but she and her husband decided to make it.

I wonder what the legal implications are of the surrogate situation? Just slapping the name of the surrogate on the birth certificate because the mother is a douche makes me uncomfortable. Oh well. Not my problem I guess.

Isn’t there supposed to be a legal contract signed by all parties involved when hiring a surrogate stipulating all the rights, protections, & obligations, etc….???? This is such a bizarre, messy, & dirty story.

I guess it depends if it was an official surrogacy agreement, the legislation of the state etc.

        Poor kid.

That is why it upsets me. Social policy dictates legislative policy and unfortunately a lot of our Australian social policy is impacted by its American counterpart. So as someone who will be using surrogacy in 10 years or so, it is disappointing that situations like this exist and will negatively impact social policy.

Yes. But Sherri has no genetic tie to the baby. Sherri is alleging that Saul married her to get a baby and divorce her and live off child support. Which I do believe happened. So Sherri said, fine. You take your bio baby and fuck off with it.

I’m a little more cold hearted about this situation than y’all are. I think Sherri should have the right to do that before the baby is born.

That is why surrogacy is ILLEGAL IN MOST COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD. Including mine (Slovenia in Europe). Human body can not be a subject of a contract.

Over simplifications are strong with this one. When we sell our gametes we are not only contracting part of our human body, but commercializing it. Similarly when we donate human tissue and kidneys. We sign contracts then. Would you prefer we don’t?

I must admit to not hating this show but I am repulsed by the twerking. They do often present themselves as coontastic
Caricatures. Okay i kinda tuned in a bit a late, but did I hear that Sherri was stood up on a date with Katt Williams? Sherri’s wig was unflattering as was her line. Kandi is boring

I cannot make it through an entire episode~ I CAN’T STAND THIS SHOW!!! With that said, I saw Porsha Williams when she was the guest host last Thursday, and I think she wants Tia Mowry’s spot.Sherrie continues to make guest appearances on any show that will have her despite what’s happening with her two ex-husbands and the baby. Tia better watch out for Porsha Williams and Sherrie Shepard cuz their thirst is real severe up in here! 😉

Sherrie’s contradictory bs gets on my last nerve. She needs to take a time out to get her life together. She can work out the paternity/custody/child support issue with Sal through the courts. But in the meantime, she should pay the surrogate’s legal expenses. The surrogate has been left holding the bag in a situation that she did not create. The surrogate mother is the innocence party and she needs to made whole by the Shepard-Lamars. Shame on Sherri and Sal for playing with the baby’s life as if it were a game of hot potato or kick the can. This is a really sad example of motherly love and christian kindness. Jesus wept and so did I for the innocence child 🙁

Hi Goldenindigo ~ I very much liked you post…you put a good perspective on the this whole sad mess. The milk of human kindness is often in short supply, but I wish Sherri could understand, NONE of this was the surrogates fault, and take that into consideration…it’s not looking good though. The REALLY sad thing is, no one wants the baby. Sherri doesn’t, the surrogate doesn’t consider the baby to be hers, but more or less got stuck with it, and where is Sal? Not only is this sad and messy, it’s confusing too.

@Gingersnap~as I understand it, Sal has the baby, but is receiving welfare as a single parent for his biological child. The state of California is seeking child support from the surrogate, because she is named as the legal mother on the birth certificate, and she is considered the absentee parent by DFACs. The surrogate needs to get a lawyer to defend herself, and force the court to relieve her of any responsibility for the baby per the original contract between herself and the Shepard-Lamars. This case could set new precedent, because I believe this is the first time someone has reneged on a surrogate contract in this manner. The surrogate has no interest in the child, and had given up any paternal rights to the baby as part of the original contract to carry the fetus to term. So, the courts should enforce the contract between the surrogate and the Lamars, and absolve the surrogate from any further responsibilities to the child. Then the case should be sent back to family court in New Jersey because that is where the Lamars lived when the child was presumed to be conceived. Sal and Sherrie have made a royal mess out of this custody/child support issue and it stinks to the high heavens. The courts will have the final say on this travesty. Whew!!!

I hope the surrogate gets every scent out of Sherri’s ‘the earth is flat’ fat ass. Surrogacy contracts must remain valid and enforceable. Any cases that erode its validity and enforceability risk corrupting the future of surrogacy for the people who wish to use it.

If the surrogate is telling the truth she needs to lawyer up. There is no way she should have pay for child support for a child that was never intended to be hers. That poor baby.

I’ve tried to watch this show because I like Lonie Love and Tamara Mowry. I cringe hearing that Jeannie Mai talk and my body goes into spasms whenever Tamar Braxton opens her mouth. What the hell is she saying most of the time? And the noises she makes? Adrienne Bailon makes a fool out of herself most of the time. Whoever is her makeup artist must hate her because she looks like a clown most of the time.

What about adoption?. Could the surrogate give the baby up for adoption?

There are many couples out there waiting for newborns. The money collected from the adoption processing could be retained by the surrogate for her services. The adoptive parents would be overjoyed to have a newborn baby. It could be a win-win, providing Sherri and her husband cut ties with the process.

The surrogate doesn’t have custody of the baby. Lamar has custody. The surrogate is alleging that California may come after her for child support b/c hers is the name on the baby’s birth certificate instead of Sherri.

That would have been the best option after Sherri wanted out. However the baby is biologically Sal’s so he needs to get a J O B. And quit expecting the people of the Great State of California to pay for his kid.

I have no idea how this show got picked up. It is horrible. It is disgustingly ghetto and it doesn’t have to be. They have the ability to reach a totally different demographic that is missed by similar shows but they are really missing the mark. I think they need to get rid of a person or two and then it could potentially be better.

Sherri Shepard’s whole surrogacy issue boils down to one thing, the contract. It is a legal issue, not a moral one, because the parties all signed a contract. If Sherri signed the contract which guaranteed she would be legally and financially liable for this child, she is going to have to pay. In surrogacy, there is no “Lemon Law”, like when you buy a car and it is defective, this is a child who was brought into this world only because a contract was signed and money was paid…by Sherri Shepard, since Sal is obviously a broke ass bitch.

Sucks for the surrogate, but she should’ve known better or had an attorney prepare her for this.
