I was really tired last night and not really sure I would make it through #TGIT so I did a bit of back end work on the site with American Idol running in the background instead of watching Grey’s. Feel free to discuss it here, but I won’t be able to join in until I watch it.
By nine, my curiosity had gotten the best of me and I watched Scandal. I was disappointed. Really? We just spent an hour watching Olivia Pope roll around on the floor of a cell? Was the whole neighbor across the hall in any way important to the storyline? Will Jake find the ring and somehow figure out that Olivia is in a warehouse on a studio lot somewhere?
Can we talk about that underwire? That underwire was not from a Kerry Washington sized bra. The underwire from my ginormous bra would not have lifted that heavy window closure. Ian, her cell mate who had been there for ages was clean shaven seemed overly full of information. Olivia is very quick to tell the dude the POTUS will be looking for her, and she may be wearing a tracking device. At that point I was just trying to stay awake for How To Get Away With Murder.
I would have been fine going to bed at 8 and watching this all whenever I got around to it. Really? They got Rebecca and the rugby guy off for killing Lila and provided damning evidence that Sam kill her. Okay. The only interesting thing is that Connor and Michaela tried to roll over on everyone and the Keating five is unraveling. There really seems no way that these five can keep their stories straight. I think Wes should start shooting some of them and send the to sleep with the fishes. Or something.
Next week, Sam’s sister comes to claim that he would never kill anyone and did not run away. Do we even know who killed Lila? I was disappointed. Were you?

Refresh your memory on HTGAWM here.
Scandal made no sense whatsoever. Really stupid
I actually really enjoyed Grey’s Anatomy this week. I have to say watching April and Jackson coming to terms with their baby’s illness actually had me in tears. Dang PMS hormones!
Sadly, I’m losing the love for Scandal. This whole episode confused the hell out of me and I wasn’t much a fan of the way it was edited. All the back and forth, Nah! I really really hope it picks back up because I want to continue to love it but I’m struggling.
I did not watch HTGAWM, I started out the season really loving it but I lost that love about 6-7 episodes in.
I agree with everything you said 100%, except for the part about HTGAWM. I love that show. It may have plotholes galore, but the tension holds it together…
I flipped between the Biggest Loser Finale and Shandra Thursday.
I always give a show, Scandal, the benefit to see if they connect to the following weeks show.
HTGAWM, never would those students want to rollover that quickly. They worked to hard to get into law school.
If more than one person knows a secret then it won’t remain a secret. Someone will talk.
This show is losing me if they don’t keep it somewhat based in reality.
I was disappointed too. Olivia should have known right away that the guy was a plant, I did, too predictable. It’s still too confusing as to which person or persons will be getting away with murder, and which murder? I’m still not convinced that the kids are anything more than Analise’s puppets. She seems to be pulling all the strings. I’m still interested though.
I watched Grey’s & Scandal….then watched the series finale of “Parenthood” now that was an awesome show! One of the few decent shows NBC had. Of course it was cancelled. Hope to get to HTGAWM tonight. Last season on Greys, I did NOT like angry Meredith. She was just such a bitch! It wore on me…..
I have to agree with the feelings on Scandal, not a whole hour of Olivia in a little room….. although the dream sequence was clever. But where the hell are they going with this??????
Watching Scandal was an hour of my life that I am never going to get back. I missed Mellie!
I liked How To Get Away With Murder.
I feel asleep on HTGAWM! I plan on watching it tomorrow. Scandal made my head spin, which I guess is good.
I gave up on HTGAWM last season. Scandal is on its last leg with me. I guessed the guy was the leader almost immediately. Bring back Season 1 Scandal where Pope and Associates actually ‘fixed” things. The only good thing about last night was almost no Quinn (sorry, I really do not like her character).
What I was most disappointed about is that after waiting all this time for HTGAWM to come back after another 3 episodes we will be at the season finale! Really? Just 3??? Uuggghhhh and I’m sure we will be left will some big cliff hanger to hopefully draw us back in next season!
Also why did Annalise choose to wear the curly wig to be interrogated in instead of her usual courtroom look? I know it doesn’t really matter and there is probably no real answer but that’s all I kept thinking.
My thought was she was softening her look to play the victimized with whose husband knocked up someone and killed them. Her regular courtroom wig is moss boss bitch and less approachable.

I loved HTGAWM! I can’t believe there are only 3 episodes left. Did you see the previews for the rest of the season? Whose front door does S.W.A.T. Break down? You know that SIL is no friend to Annaliese.
I was disappointed with both shows. Scandal was completely ridiculous and unbelievable. When did Jake take off his pants? Why was Olivia being held in a cell with a male prisoner? The bathroom and set was supposed to remind of us George Clooney’s character being attacked in the movie Syriana, but it came off like something from the PJs. Olivia’s kidnapping could have changed the direction of the show, but it may have left the viewers flat, with little hope of recovery. However, I found Olivia’s dream scenes funny and telling about what she really wants subconsciously. Shonda Rhimes should get back to the basics of what Scandal was originally about, OPA fixing their clients problems, not all the CIA spy drama.
HTGAWM was equally frustrating. We are led to believe that Rebecca and what’s his name would get off because Annalise was able to convince a judge that Rebecca’s defense attorney’s missing husband was Lila’s murderer. In real life, the Keating four would roll over on each other, and Nate would not allow himself to be used as Annalise’s alibi after she cost him his job. The romance between Asher and Bonnie is a nuisance not interesting; Annalise confiding her version of the truth to Frank further complicates the situation; and Sam’s sister showing up is a development that may finally lead to Lila’s actual killer. What are they smoking at Shondaland? They would do well to create storyboards and scripts for both shows that make sense and seems possible to the viewer. HTGAWM’s 13 episode season hurts it more than it helps it because there are too many other shows with better storylines to watch. I am not interested in the hype around TGIT. I am interested in better plots twist, character development, and continuity. SR needs to forget the hype and find the substance in her shows or get off the air.
Scandal sort of jumped the shark for me this week. We waited all of this time for that?
Catching up on posts. I missed Grey’s and have to DVR it. Loved the twist on Scandal. Andrew kept to his warning and took what is most important to Fitz. Now we will have to wait to see what Fitz gives to get his Livvie back. Interesting that when Liv needs Rowan most their relationship has been torn apart. I loved how the show progressed from confident Liv to broken Liv. Her appearance shifted as well. It was great her hair looked like it did rather than Mama Pope’s lovely hair all while in the hold. HTGAWWM was good too. The storyline wrapped up to quickly but stragglers are out there – the engagement ring, not burning the body, peen bathroom pic, the two who wanted to go the police, etc. It appears the sister is going to be key player in Sam being “missing”. I want that lipstick Viola put on! LOL TT, will you be recapping Empire?
Nope. I haven’t watched it yet. I save it for when I have a free undisturbed hour.
