Lisa Rinna Calls It Like She Sees It

RHOBH Lisa Rinna

The RHOBH blogs are not particularly interesting this week. Brandi, author of two books about her drinking, seems to be offended that Lisa Rinna thinks she has a drinking problem. She thinks that Lisa should have brought that to her attention privately. I wonder what it is like to live in Brandi’s world.

Lisa Rinna’s blog is spot on this week. She really has a good grasp on the situation and understands the dynamics between the players. It surely didn’t take her long to understand the craziness that is RHOBH and understand who is worth her time and who is not. I love that she is not excusing Kim or Brandi for the blatant disrespect at Eileen’s party.  Do you agree with Lisa’s point of view?

Brandi At least I'm not doing Chrystal Meth in the Bathroom

So, we pick up right where we left off, but before we do, I’d like to note that Kyle wasn’t the one to create any of this drama. It was Kim that chose to walk back in the house after Brandi had escorted her outside and told her NOT to go back in. There was a lot of alcohol and God knows what other drugs influencing a lot of the behaviors, so no matter what, the outcome wasn’t going to be a good one. Like a Dr. Phil quote I used on Twitter last week, “When you choose the behavior, you choose the consequence.” While I have compassion and empathy for these women and what I see playing out in front of me, there seems to be a lot of blame that both Kim and Brandi are trying to place on Kyle, and in my opinion they aren’t accepting the consequences from their behavior.

Now that some time has passed and I have really had some time to digest the situation, I myself have some questions just like all of you. Why did Kim go to Eileen’s poker night if she was sick with pneumonia and bronchitis? I don’t doubt that major illnesses like these made her feel terrible. So, then why go in the first place and then exacerbate these illnesses by smoking cigars all evening? I’m quite certain that had I been as ill as she was, I would have been in my bed pickling myself in oil of oregano and overdosing on vitamin C and echinacea. But again, as I didn’t know where she was in her sobriety, I also didn’t know where she was in her illnesses.

As far as Brandi goes, my comments are coming from a place of experience and concern. I’ve been, like I know many many of you have also, a part of lives that have been affected by addiction. And to echo Yolanda’s sentiments, I have a hard time wrapping my brain around the idea of grown women, mothers in particular,  behaving this way. To me, there seems to be a lot of pain being masked by alcohol. Granted, I don’t know what goes on in Brandi’s life outside of this. I only know what I observe in this environment.

    Lisa’s blog is spot on!

Apparently, Brandi’s feelings were hurt so she sent a nasty tweet to Andy and then quickly deleted it. She was angry that WWHL had Eileen and Whitney Cummings and they were making fun of her. Heaven forbid someone makes fun of Brandi. She is the only one allowed to say people’s vagina smells, this one has a fake ass etc.

Frankly the fact that her tampon string is hanging out in drunken pics off the internet should worry her more.

Josie you couldn’t have said it better!!! Brandi lives off of “reaction” and she’ll do anything to get it no matter who she hurts.. I think what she did to Joanna Krupa was unbelievable… whether you like Joanna or not she’s been a very successful woman and now when you think of her I think of Brandi on WWHL? geesshhhhh… I was thrilled with WWHL.. when she finally “gets” that she’s a laughing stock in a lot of “circles”.. maybe just maybe she’ll get psychological help…

As an aside, I also thought LVP’s blog made some good points too.

Guess Kyle wont be harping about how she should not hold a grudge now that she is the one at the end of Brandi’s attacks!

I just love both Lisas. Spot on Lisa R!

Anyone have thoughts about Brandi’s tweet that Andy is “bullying” her? I’d love to know what people think. I am actually kind of torn. She deserves it, sure. But is it the right thing to do? I don’t know. I’d feel awkward in Andy’s situation.

Looking for other’s thoughts and opinions. Particularly yours, TT, if you read this.

Brandi Brandi Brandi…..I think Brandi is a bully! She says things without giving any thought before blurting out whatever it is she wants to say, even if it is information given to her in confidence. She doesn’t give sincere apologies, she doesn’t own her mistakes. She is in a dream world…..she’s out there! Brandi certainly seems like she is either on something or always drunk. Not so pretty! She is very needy!

But . . . is it okay to bully a bully? Brandi is no doubt a bully herself. I’m really torn on the appropriate response to it. I do think it is perfectly appropriate to discuss her behavior and state thoughts on that behavior. But I just kind of wonder where that line is.

Interesting question. For me personally, comes down to constructive criticism, offensive constructive criticism, out right rudeness, bullying.
It depends on the vocabulary used and the intentions behind it. I don’t think Andy crossed the line, he wasn’t the one that said it. The only thing you could blame him for: he was losing control over the studio there. Did Whitney crossed the line? – no, in my opinion. She used the same words that Brandi was spewing towards somebody else. Fair game in my book.
        Cry me a river Brandi…

The driving behavior behind most addiction is selfishness. Arrested development? Does anyone else think that many of the bullies act like teenagers? But, sadly theyre old ass Mean girls. Not a pretty look on anyone…eh? I keep waiting for one of them to say Neener, neener! Or I know you are! But, what am I? Then stick their tongue out! Its all pretty pathetic, considering that their wrinkly and botoxed to the hilt. :/

I don’t think it was bullying — to me bullying is systematic and/or threatening behavior. Someone being an asshole to you doesn’t automatically rise to bullying, IMO. In this case, Andy may have been an asshole to Brandi by criticizing her/making fun of her, but I don’t see it as more than that.

Brandi is a whorish tart, she is making herself relevant by her behavior and u all are falling for it. come on people…. Did we all forget how much of the crap on Bravo is “entertainment”? Think about it… The viewers are over the housewives per say, so now they have wrangled Eileen and Lisa R to join the cast/show. Do u all think that Denise R was at Lisa’s jewelry party and that Vanderpump spoke to her about CS was a spontaneous encounter. My favorite part of this week’s episode was Vince peeking out the garage window. Love that man!

Lisa like Eileen are both SANE and that makes all of the difference in these reality shows. They both can string a few coherent sentences together, with logical and original opinions, and make complete sense. I like them both. Brandi should be so lucky, even if she did author two books.

Lisa R hit the nail on the head — Kim and Brandi need to take responsibility for their actions. They won’t do it, but nonetheless they should.
Which reminds me — when Lisa told Yolanda at Lisa R’s party “I can’t so whatever the fuck I want” (re: getting drunk) — that showed her faulty thinking right there. We are all free to get however drunk we want.
That’s not what Yolanda was talking about. She meant we have to be responsible for whatever or however we fuck up while drunk. Brandi doesn’t understand the distinction.

Lisa R actually speaks like someone who has been around addiction; very directly and without a huge amount of guilt attached to it. Its sad that her husband lost 2 brothers to addiction so I’m ok with her saying whatever the heck she wants to about the subject. Being direct and saying “I see you, I see what you are doing and it is not ok” is great.

Um, that is absolutely true. Addiction wouldn’t affect families so much if it didn’t involve lying, failure to take responsibility, theft, and “playing the victim”. It is easy to tell who is going to fail when they try to quit. It is always the ones who make excuses for their behavior and try to control other people with emotional manipulation.

That is what is commonly called “selfishness”.

yeah addiction to people with personality disorder (narcissism) or with chemical addiction is in itself an addiction called codependency, the addiction to focusing on the problems of others to avoid one’s own. Both addiction and codependency have roots in childhood trauma, many times severe trauma, and socialization. So people can either be compassionate about the forms of addiction (without enabling) or they can remember that when they point the finger at someone else there are four pointing back at them.

Ask any Therapist or Doc, about the selfishness. I had to, because I was Married to an Addict, now Divorced. I could endure no more. I went to Al Anon. Many family members like myself will blame themselves for the addicts actions. I don’t know why it posted 2xs. My apologies, it was getting hung up on my end. I lived it, for a decade and yes, its my opinion.

To me, Brandi is one of those people who feel they can say anything and then fix it by saying I’m sorry. She plays the poor me card and expects people to feel sorry for her. Her divorce was years ago, it is no longer relevant. She needs to face that. I just hope the other housewives see the real her and how she turns on people. She is the last person that kim should be hanging with. I wonder what her motive is for coming between the sisters? You could see clearly that was her intention. Brandi is not a person who is anyones friend, she is a user.
