Camille Grammer was on The Doctors today to discuss her battle with cancer. Because both her mother and her grandmother had cancer, she was testes for genetic markers at age 34 and she found out she did in fact carry the gene. The doctors wanted her to have a hysterectomy but she didn’t want to go through medical menopause at 34. She now regrets that she decided not to have the hysterectomy. Later she developed stage two endometrial cancer. She had a radical hysterectomy with intense chemotherapy. Camille is now working to spread awareness for endometrial cancer. She says she is trying to get the word out that when you are young and test positive for the genetic markers, save yourself a lot of fear and chemo and get the hysterectomy.
They asked Camille if her ex-husband was supportive during her struggle. She says, “Zero. Not at all. He never even reached out to their children to make sure they were okay when their mom was diagnosed with cancer.” She said her friends and cast mates were very support and rallied around her.
Well, that was that. I was really expecting there to be more to it. They did not talk about the allegations she made against Dimitri Charalambopoulos . You can read about those here. Those were some interesting times.
If Camille is to be believed, it blows my mind what an ass-douche Kelsey appears to be. Good Lord. You think he would have learned something by now.
Spread awareness – she is doing pretty shitty job. I am pissed. This is a publicity stunt for her, in the meantime there are real women suffering.
I was diagnosed the same at stage 3. I went through the treatment with my parents and my sister, not my kids, not my husband/boyfriend/ex; I left them out by choice. It’s a shame she has a platform to raise awareness and she is making a mockery out of this.
Are you the authority regarding how someone deals with their cancer treatment? Just because you chose to go through the treatment with your parents and sister instead of your kids or husband/boyfriend/ex, does not mean everyone else should too. I believe Camille sharing the fact she tested positive for carrying the gene and elected not to have a hysterectomy is very informative. Having had four family members die from this terrible disease, I find her story very compelling for other women, who may test positive for the gene, to have the surgery.
jb, her story, your story, story of any cancer patient is compelling and heart wrenching. I was hoping she would focus more on the symptoms and options, and what to expect going through the treatment. Skip on who was, wasn’t there.
My choice not to have my kids and romantic partner involved was because the ordeal is not nice, on the verge of humiliation; no romantic partner will look at you the same once they see what’s done to you, god forbid you have permanent disfiguration/damages- you want to keep it under wrap.
I am sorry for your experiences.
I was 19 years old, when I was diagnosed with stage three endometrial cancer.
WOW.

After awhile, at least in my case, you get tired of talking about it. You just want to get on with your life. Funny, I pretty much went through my ordeal alone. Yes, I had a “friend” taking me back and forth to treatment, but she would just drop me off and pick me up. Otherwise, I was on my own. Not easy.
Now, I find out, I have a friend who’s daughter was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer (breast, liver, brain). I’m hoping they come up here from Florida so she can have treatment. The doctors are excellent here. They saved my life, and hopefully, she can be saved, too.
All I have to say “to” Camille is: Live your life, baby. Don’t let anyone run it for you.
YAY! Cat is back. Where is “up here” Cat? Where did you go through treatment?

I’m in Kansas City. I had treatment at KUMed. Teaching hospital. Best in the region.
Maybe Kelsey is still hot under the collar at Camille for insinuating he was a cross dresser? He had a whole lot of splaining to do after that implication. I think Camille can be pretty vindictive. jmo.
Camille said a lot of cruel statements about him. Looking at it from Kelsey’s point of view, he may see her being hollowed out like a Barbie doll as form of pure unadulterated karma.
I hope Kayte is paying close attention. This is how he will treat her when he’s done with her and onto the next.
Twilly, who is Kayte?
his new wife.
It’s so crazy.. Frasier is my favorite show (still). I loved Boss, too. And he is such a heartless ASS in real life, apparently by all accounts. He did have a terrible life, what with his siblings and parents being murdered at different times, etc. It was awful. I imagine he sealed off his heart. Camille didn’t stand a chance, if it was real for her. He looks happy with Kayte, although I know that if you start the way they did, more often than not, it doesn’t work. We will see. Dang, I didn’t even mention the cancer. Glad Camille is better, and I hope she remembers to keep most of the light on that and not Kelsey or Dimitri.
I loved Boss too. He was so utterly evil. Too bad they cancelled it, but of course he was going to die.
I know right, but they should have let it play out. I loved that show! Great cast and storylines, and he acted his ass off!!
I think it says a LOT about who Camille Grammer REALLY is that Kelsey won’t utter so much as a single word to her. Clearly we aren’t getting the whole story.
