Tonight is the night! Celebrity Apprentice is one of my favorite shows ever. I know the Donald is a bit evil at times, but I can’t help but enjoy him on Celebrity Apprentice!
It’s time! Let’s meet the teams!
Meet the Men’s Team:
Ian Zierling (Beverly Hills 90210), Lorenzo Lamas, Geraldo Rivera, Kevin Jonas, Terrell Owens (Football), Johnny Damon (Baseball), Sig Hansen (Deadliest Catch) Gilbert Gottfried (Comedian)
Meet the Women’s Team:
Keisha Knight Pulliam, Kenya Moore, Brandi Glanville, Kate Gosselin, Vivica Fox, Shawn Johnson (Olympic Gymnast), Leeza Gibbons, Jamie Anderson (Olympic Snowboarder)
I love Kenya’s coat. She looks stunning. The teams break up to pick a team name and a project manager for the pie selling challenge. Click here for the preshow tea. Brandi wants to name the team Team Gold, Kenya wants Team Infinity. They went with Team Infinity. The men’s team tries to select a name and Geraldo really wants to go with Vortex. He was insistent and the guys gave in. Back on the women’s team, Keisha steps up to be project manager. Shawn and Brandi are tasked with social media outreach. Geraldo steps up to take the project manager position for the men’s team. Kevin Jonas is doing the social media outreach. Kevin and Geraldo are already butting heads. Both teams need to make two pies. One savory and one sweet.

THE MEN
Geraldo is very bossy. Geraldo is going to be calling all of his contacts asking for money. Kevin is irritated they are wasting time getting to the kitchen and making the pies. The guys make a vanilla chocolate ice box pie. And Lorenzo chooses a low-calorie chicken pot pie. Sig burns the first batch of pie shells.
Gilbert Gottfried is in charge of calling in some entertainment. He is bringing in comedians, fire-eaters, and a Howard Stern look-alike. Geraldo did no oversight but called donors the entire day.
The men have a lot of great print media. But Geraldo is about ten times bigger than the rest of the guys. Johnny Damon is very popular and signed a lot of baseballs and greeted the customers waiting in line.
Gilbert was on the sidewalk doing a great job of getting attention to the store. Lorenzo was out of his element and did not bring in any money.
THE WOMEN

The ladies choose Pear and Blueberry for their sweet pie and a taco/enchilada pie. Keisha is not really delegating the roles. Kate sort of takes over the kitchen. She is by far the most qualified for cooking for lots of people. There were too many people doing social media that the pies were not getting made. Keisha doesn’t seem to be much of a leader. Kate is pretty much running the show. Kenya says that there is not enough emphasis on getting donors through the door, and that is the most important thing. Kenya says that Keisha should have called Bill Cosby first and foremost. Keisha says she is focusing on people in NYC.
Everyone is irked by Keisha’s lack of management style. There was word very early on that Keisha was kind of a bitch. That is not what they are showing, but they are showing she seems to be in over her head.
The women’s team seems to be getting lots of big tips. But there doesn’t need to be much of a line for the women’s pies. Claudia Jordan drops by to support Kenya with a donation but she insisted on a pie in the face first. Somehow that turns into Kenya giving Brandi a pie in her face. Brandi seemed to take it in stride.
Kate didn’t raise any money because her person could not get there in time.
THE BOARDROOM
Most of the time on these particular challenges where they are selling things and raising money, whoever makes the most money wins. It looks like in this instance The Cake Boss will choose the winner based on the taste of the pies. If this is really how it is going down then they should have worried a lot more about how their pies tasted and fundraising becomes less important. Ah it looks like a two part challenge. One part is who raised the most money and another bonus for best pie. Oh wait the best pie gets $25,000 added to their total. Then the team with the most money wins. I had sort of forgotten how that worked.
On the women’s side there is a clear division between Keisha and some of the other ladies. Donald asks Kenya who the weakest player was and she says Keisha. Shawn admits she doesn’t think the women won.
The men’s team are confident that they have won. Lorenzo is thrown under the bus for not raising any money. Terrell didn’t bring in much either.
The women won the taste test and had $25,000 added to their kitty. Shawn and Kate both still think they lost. It’s clear that Keisha is going home and they haven’t even announced they lost yet. The women raised, $93,862. The men raised $185,322. Wow. The men’s team raised twice the money the women did even with the women getting the $25,000 bonus. The men got around $280,000 for Geraldo’s charity, Life’s Work a charity for developmentally disabled kids who need assisted living style housing.
In the firing discussion, Jamie, Kate and Shawn are thrown under the bus by Keisha for not having substantial checks donated. Kate tries to defend herself because she raised nothing. However, Kate did literally run the kitchen and do the majority of the cooking. Kate points out Keisha never assigned roles. Brandi pipes up to defend Keisha. Keisha argues back. Brandi says Kate was lazy. Seriously? Kate worked her ass off. Shawn pipes up to defend Kate. Piers says when he was there he says plenty of people standing around wondering what to do, essentially agreeing that Keisha was a crap manager. Kenya brings up the fact that Keisha didn’t call Bill Cosby because she was holding out. Kenya and Vivica both cry during the boardroom. Donald and Piers both think not calling Bill Cosby was a huge mistake. Keisha herself brought in less than $10K. Piers makes the same point Kenya made the entire challenge. It’s a fundraiser and you did not bring funds in.
Keisha brings back Jamie and Kate for bringing in the least amount of money. Then men all know that Keisha is going home. Donald points out that Jaime should not have been brought in and she is the one that made the winning pie. Keisha is really not good at this game. Jamie refused to say who she thinks should go home because she is “too nice.” Jaime will never make it in this game. It’s not a game for nice people. Donald, Ivanka and Piers kiss up to Keisha. Trump gives her $25,000 for her charity and fires her. Not for nothing, Kenya wanted to get rid of Keisha. She did not like her. So episode one, Kenya names the team and gets her enemy fired. #winning
Celebrity Apprentice moves to Monday night at 8 pm starting tomorrow.
Vivica Fox was so inappropriate in the previews. Kenya speaks very well im curious why she doesnt have a few businesses she seems knowledgeable. But my fave was Gilbert Godfrey he is so adorable and funny
I really wish someone had a still of EYE-n Ziering shooting imaginary snot rockets at Geraldo in the boardroom…he seriously had a problem with GR’s attitude right off the bat! Liking the men so far and look forward to all the lady bitchiness. Sad to see Rudy go home and end the Cosby tie so soon.
Ian appeared to be an arrogant bitch. Didn’t like his snotty attitude at all. All I could think was that he had small-man syndrome.
Seriously, Eye-an?! I never knew that’s how he pronounces his name. Lol, he came off so pretentious.
Probably at this point in time, Bill Cosby would be the LAST person anyone would want to call in favors from. Of course, this was filmed before the big scandal. The show was annoying and predictible and I just couldn’t watch it. I didn’t like anyone in the cast.
Kenya made some valid points tonight. She was spot on. Clearly she hates Brandi and I have no doubt will dominate her dumb ass. Twirl cunnilingus!
Heh-heh-heh-hee-eee….. Yeah, right.
Maybe she was a victim of cosby either way it makes trump look bad
The show was filmed WAY WAY WAY before the Cosby allegations started.
The Cosby allegations started 15 or more years ago…
Thanks for your recap, Tamara! It is so well done, that you’ve tempted me to stay up to early Monday, so I may access On Demand to watch Celeb Apprentice as soon as it posts! Well done!
Get your rest! It will be there later. 🙂 Although I have TWO MORE EPISODES to recap tomorrow. â

I’m still awake and just checked Xfinity On Demand for “Celebrity Apprentice” or any variation, and I also checked the Top 20 favorite shows option/shortlist; nothing. Maybe it will appear before the next episode, but for the time being, nope!
I mentioned On Demand earlier, and do not want to mislead anybody. If I did. I apologize. I presumed “CA” would be featured as it was during past seasons. At least as of the the date/time of this posting “CA” is NOT in Xfinity On Demand.
I’m sorry about indicating that “CA” may be found there, and then later finding it’s not.
Give it time Tasos826, it usually has a one day delay on Demand.
@tasos826: look under “The Apprentice” – leave out the “celebrity”. That’s how it appears in my Xfinity TV GO – and the episode is there.
When was the show filmed? I’m curious to see when all the social media advertising/interaction happened for this challenge. Great recap TT.
In the spring. I spoiled the season during filming. http://s17948.p858.sites.pressdns.com/?s=Celebrity+Apprentice Don’t go if you don’t want to know and let’s try to keep the recaps spoiler free.
Keisha was really unfair in picking the people who brought in the least funds, if you take into consideration said people’s acquaintances . I would think the celebrities like herself would have access to more friends with money, while a professional snowboarder and a professional litter producer, not so much. Even leaving Cosby out of the equation leaves alot of famous celebrities that she has worked with, or is friends with.
Side note:
I adore Gilbert Gottfried ever since I watched him on celebrity wife swap.
Kate Gosselin’s weave!! She looked so much better when she had a shorter hairstyle.
I understand Keisha’s reasons for not calling Cosby, and I respect her point of view. I do not believe there is ill will between Keisha and Cosby, she just wishes the public would see her as having more depth and dimensions beyond having been Rudy Huxtable. She should not have brought Kate and Jaime into the boardroom because those ladies were the brain and brawn behind the pies. She should have brought back Brandi and Kenya because neither one of them really helped with the challenge as much as the other women. Kenya would have not been fired because she would have defended herself and made her case to stay. Brandi could have possibly been eliminated instead of Keisha because Brandi was window dressing and nothing else during the project. Sorry Keisha went first, but that’s how the cookie crumbles.
Brandi and Kenya both called castmates to get big donations. There was no way she could call them. Trust and believe Keisha would have brought Kenya back if Kenya had not brought the donations. Kenya would have eaten her alive in the final boardroom.
So she went with the lesser knowns. Jaime was not coming for her and Kate raised $0. She thought that would be the easy route to stay but she was wrong. She went big, and she went home.

The boy band kid is a major cunt satchel.
I had prepared myself for 2 hours of Brandi and Kenya but I’d forgotten about Kate Gossling. That woman is vile!
Was so happy to see Sig and Terrell. Love them both. Kevin was surprising. Loved how Sig teased him.
Anyone know how much Brandi raised and who she called for it?
My understanding is that her longtime friend and hairdresser (one of the guys who went to the RHOBH White Party with her) donated $10,000. I believe she raised some dollar amount over $10,000, but I don’t know the exact amount. I would assume she lined up any larger donations for when she’s project manager.
I doubt the charity would be too happy if any funds from Bill Cosby were associated with them. Sounds like a bullet was dodged.
And before anyone says it; I know this was filmed ages ago and way before the majority of recent claims against Cosby. Still, I’m sure that if he did show up and give a big donation it would have been an issue for the charity and also the editors of the show.
Not to mention, these allegations against Cosby are not new. It seems these pop up every 5-10 years.
Keisha may have herself been a victim OR she may have “seen” something at some point ….In any event, she knows him well, I would imagine. In saying that, she probably would not have been successful in obtaining a donation. Not all rich people write checks on demand. They can have all the money in the world and not be charitable with it. I trust her decision, I think it was kinda shitty to out her like that, but whatever, it’s a game She did have poor management skills and ultimately that is what sent her home.
Keisha was NOT a victim of Bill Cosby. She spoke very highly of him on Wendy Williams today and said the allegations in the news do not align at all with the man that she knows to be philanthropic and kind.
Geraldo’s comment regarding Kenya: ‘Imagine being married to Kenya. You’d be sleeping with one eye open.’ Someone said and that’s why we are not. Didn’t take the men long to label Kenya.
Did they show Andy coming to the event? Did they announce what he brought?
Lol, should have read the WWHL article first. All of this is included in the article. Sorry.
Actually Jamie did not make the winning pie, as Trump claimed. Keshia suggested blueberry or pear pie. Jamie just mentioned why not do both. Keshia also had the ladies add more sugar to the pie so it seems to me that Keshia should have gotten more credit for the winning pie than she did. It’s not like Jamie suggested the winning combination and they used her recipe for it.
Agree Tricia. Unless they edited out Jamie doing more than we saw, all she said was why not do both. Imo, Kate did the most work, baking. Sorry to the Kenya fans, but I never witnessed her doing a lick of work. I felt terrible for Keshia. None of us know what kind of relationship she had with B.C. What if she is a victim, and she was expected she call him for money? He wasn’t known for being nice to cast members, and it might have been the reason she didn’t reach out to him.
Where do you get this whole”he wasn’t nice to cast members thing?” Do you know him?
Keisha was on Wendy Williams this morning and she was very candid about why she didn’t call Cosby. She thought it was inappropriate to call someone she worked with 30 years ago and ask for money. She had resources that were people she has a current relationship with. She also said that the Cosby she knew was philanthropist who did a lot of great things for black colleges and gave examples of how kind he was to everyone on the set.

Loved that Ivanka admitted to being a 90210 junkie. Loved that show myself and was fun to see such a composed, professional woman who comes from a wealthy family go on and on about the show and the characters. Cracked me up.
They wrecked this show by allowing people to call their rich friends for donations instead of having a challenge to see how many “regular” folks they could get in to raise it.. Only work done now is on the phone and if you don’t have super rich friends your screwed..
Totally agree. It ruins the show when it’s not about business acumen and the ability to delegate, manage, etc., but mostly about who has the friends with the deepest pockets.
So I watched this last night for the very first time because I wanted to see Brandi and Kenya on it. I enjoyed it, for the most part. I will say it wasn’t what I thought it was. I always thought the Apprentice show challenges were like running an actual business. Like Kemper said above, the whole time I was sitting there saying to my husband “but the men have Geraldo, who is connected to everyone in the business, and Jonas who has like 4 million Twitter followers, how can the women compete?” and turns out that was exactly the problem. It’s essentially a popularity contest and who has the most rich buddies, no? Not really a business… How could someone like that poor Olympian ever win, regardless of business sense and hard word? Does it change later on? Am I missing something?
First of all, running a pie shop is a business. The challenges are on different areas of business. The fundraisers are clearly the best to win because you get the raised funds on top of the usual award. Other challenges will be marketing campaigns or branding challenges, or merchandise displays…etc.

I felt like it was more of a bake sale you invite your rich friends to than running a pie shop. But you’re right, TT, the episode last night showed different facets of business – marketing, etc… so I’m glad it won’t just all be “watch Geraldo win every challenge due to his connections.”
I thought geraldo acted very dismissive to Gilbert when he told him to go do balloons. I know he might have been slightly annoying while trying to make calls, but he worked very hard. He also did quite a lot as far as entertainment outside which drew lg crowds. Also I wonder did the new girl on RHOA give Kenya in heads up Keisha(Rudy) . They were on House of Payne together.
My take on Keisha being first out is this: I believe that if a team fails, especially as much as the ladies did, then the project manager should be fired. There however are exceptions to this rule if another team member somehow seemingly fucked up the challenge solely, or there is a team member who is unecessarily argumentative who makes it impossible for success to be likely. So from what I read of the recap it sounds like Keisha was the easy choice this time.
It was VERY HARD to watch Rudy Huxtable BEG IN VAIN to not get fired last night by Donald Trump. Kudos to her because she has grown up to be a Very Articulate and Bright Woman. I pray she will regroup and just not do these type shows Ever. Again. She just got in way over her head and it was painful to watch.
I love this show because it’s not scripted…Vivica A. Fox has such a powerful presents on camera, she seems the type of lady you don’t want to cross…felt bad for Keisha.
I just finished watching this online.. What the heck happened to The Donalds hair? Im pretty sure it was a golden color last year and now hes completely white? Never in a million years did I believe his hair style or color would ever change!
Gilbert stole the show! Felt bad for Keisha but the focus was on raising the most money.
Trust and believe this is no fair fight at Celebrity Apprentice. Trump picks who gets fired largely on ratings appeal. Keisha should not have been fired but she isn’t going to bring drama like some of the others. Keisha was pure class but that isn’t what wins the day on CA. Geraldo was a pure a-hole. But he’s used to being that. The men are going to have to circle the wagons to get rid of him. That he was walking around loudly on the phone while the executives were present..I would have called him out on that one on the spot.
i get bummed watching these unfair competition things, so i’m gonna stick to reading your funny recaps and comments. didnt want to just say that — wanted you to know how much more fun it is to read these. thanks for all you do & i hope your favorite wins.
I love her coat too!! I know I am a little late (read this when it came out, but have had that coat on my mind…. and wanted to reply in the appropriate blog post. So, I fell in love with the coat- decided I would find it, and just wait for it to go on sale, or buy it second hand on ebay- expecting a $400-1000 retail price. So sad! It’s a Burberry, which I love but can not afford…. approximately $2,500.00 retail. We have great taste Tamara:)
WOW. Thanks for investigating.
