I know a lot of you are going through a bad time. I try to post SOMETHING every day for the past three years and I admit I am phoning it in the past couple days… I don’t want to leave you hanging and Hannah is bored and looking for fun stuff to read tonight. I was trying to think of a good personal story to tell her.. but the “statue” of limitations might not be up yete.
And everyone wants to know what was in the box… and to that I will only say I am spoilt rotten by the favorite relationship in my life. I will say that my sister sent me Waterford wine glasses this year which I am enjoying now. So I’m a much fancier wino for 2015. And because I didn’t vacation this year, I keep spending my happiness $ from the budget. Probably way more than I would have had I gone on a trip. I bought myself this laptop bag because old ladies have HUGE laptops and it fits and it’s spectacular. And a little something to deal with the stalker problem. heh. Obviously, I can’t discuss that. That said I regret this being the first year I didn’t take a trip. I had a kind offer to stay somewhere that I could still work for a few days but I really need to clean this hellhole up first and that never happened. Maybe in 2015….
So here is a post where y’all can chat about whatever. Or You can read the links below..
Here is what I consider off the top of my head my list of “Greatest Hits”
In no particular order.
That time a housewife took me to court. In two counties. And had a guy stalk me.
That Time I tried to break up with Andy Cohen.
The (not so) Hilarious reason I will never reentry my own country through MIA
The complete files of Teresa and Joe Giudices Fall From Greed
I hope this buys me a little time… I promise to get back to work on Sunday when I presume RHOA returns…
Sometimes a girl just needs to play scrabble and talk to her computer opponent (who is an asshole, btw.)
Love,
tt
Tamara, you may not have taken a trip this year but you’ve taken your readers on one and it’s been great. Your site has always been terrific but this past year you have been on fire. Thanks for the good times and happy holidays.
Thanks!

Ditto.
As Cat wrote, “ditto”. Thanks for all you do TT. ☺
I tried my best to avoid islands this year. Including the one my family live on. It sounds better than it is.
Tamara, you are the best no matter what anyone says about you. Lol. I will defend you to the death. This has made my day. Thank you for finally telling me what was in that box. I had been waiting for you to post it and you never did. Felt a little bit like I was prying but when did that ever stop me so I finally had to ask. Your sister sounds like a thoughtful sister and I’m glad you have her. As for your other gift, as I said before make no statement of intent lmao. You know that is a gift that you need to practice using. Would love to be able to watch that. Sorry you didn’t get a vacation this year. You definitely deserve one after all the hard work you do for us. I for one appreciate it. You’ve helped me more than you know. As far as cleaning your hellhole up before taking a break, that’s just crazy talk. Trust me it won’t make any damn difference if you wait a few more days to clean up to take some time for yourself. They’re not going to put it on your gravestone or obit that you were a great housekeeper. So who the heck cares. Bet Banjo doesn’t. Thanks again for doing this for me and everyone else. Enjoy the rest of your time off and yes RHOA is on tomorrow at it’s regularly scheduled time. I checked lol.
I like you’re new
âMe too. It’s Italian leather and my laptop doesn’t fit well into anything I already own. so it is my new purse, beach bag, laptop bag etc for vacations. It is way more perfect than they adverise. there are zippered compartments, pouches, belted closures…you and toatally shove a purse of moderate size and a laptop in.
I swear I have no affiliation to this site. but if you are like me and travel with one carryon and one other (purse/briefcase) I highly recommend this. There are so many places to stuff that one last thing..

It is really nice, looks more expensive than the price.
It’s gorgeous Italian leather. It’s awesome. It just doesn’t need a designer label. You know, Kind of like me.
Hey, girl. You deserve a break after a year of such tireless and much appreciated reporting.
There’s nothing like the presents we buy ourselves, is there?. They are always just what we wanted. You’ve been sounding like a kinder, gentler, happier TT the last few days. Whatever was in that box must have done the trick.
Waterford Wine Glasses. . .ahhhh. . .cheap wine always tastes so much better in fine crystal glasses. Enjoy your Xmas plunder! (and glad you got a little something for the stalker, too.)
Damn TT, I just realized I did not send you seasons greetings or salutations! So here they are
âLOL. No need. My Internet Husband does that for me. What you can do is tell me WTF to do with these adorable little Quail bodies in the fridge. ‘:)

Omg. Debone them and then roast them with yummy stuffing. My favorite dish is the Ortolan. Yummy!!!
TT what’s with the “a” with the ^ over the top of it?
I dunno.

As Michael said, de-bone them brine them roast with fresh fennel, prunes and armagnac and rosemary.
Ortolan? Is that legal again? Francois Mitterrand’s last meal.. Leave my little North African birdies alone
IDGI it sounds very complicated.

You could make quail in rose petal sauce. Recipe from chapter three of Like water for chocolate. Gertrudis seemed to really enjoy that dish.
Salt and pepper. Wrap in bacon. Grill for 12 minutes turning frequently. Glazed with hot pepper jelly mixed with a litte bourbon after bacon is crisp.
How do you people know all of these things? #StuffRichPeopleKnow

I am not rich, lucky to have friends who hunt. I also coook. Rather cook than clean house. Dont try to debone quIl. They are little birds. I thought eating ortolan was illegal and from what Tony Bourdain says (and the movie,GiGi) one eats the ortolan bones.
The ones the Christmas Meat Fairy sent were already deboned.

Can we talk a bit about birdshit? Because why not. Since Ortolan is eaten whole, would there not be shit involved?
Why is there not shit in whole chickens and Turkeys?
You people always have me thinking about the weirdest things.

I don’t know how they rid the birds of birdshit. Anthony Bourdain describes eating ortolan in his book Medium Raw. Nice of the meat fairy to debone your quail. Grill with the bacon. Simple is best.
I think those other fowl have the guts removed so no bird shit.
Yeah I had to google ortolan due to my lack of proper breeding, and read Bourdain’s vivid description. I don’t think I need to be that much of a foodie. 🙂

I am not enthusiastic about eating ortolan. The scene from GiGi put me off a long time ago.
I am not rich, well bred, but no
t rich. I am fortunate to have friends that hunt and know how to prepare quail.
For Christmas I wrapped my turkey with bacon. It really does protect the skin and taste great. I’m sure it would work wonders on the quail. A youtube video should help show how to debone the quail. It’s easier than it looks. I love my quail sweet. So pomegranate stuffing and sauce would be great for Christmas.
‘fivecatsownme’ — crunch crunch crunch. Now I have that scene in my head. “my god I can’t stand the Parisians ….”
How do you go about procuring an Internet husband? Is he the one who sent the blue box?
Ohmigosh, ‘That Time I tried to break up with Andy Cohen’ is STILL one of my favorites. To this day, I still love Andy Cohen. I refuse to believe that he exploits women. I don’t believe he hates women either. Like I’ve said several boring times, no one is putting a gun up to anyone’s head. These people are exploiting themselves, if in fact they are being exploited, I went through a period too, where I had to re-evaluate Andy, and it may be that boyish grin and that wonky eye combo, but I just can’t fall out of love with him.
Love the Parks v Stanton blogs too, for all the wrong reasons probably. I thoroughly enjoy hating on Phaedra 🙂
Just to let everyone knows, deboning a
Parks vs Stanton was hilarious. You were the first to post it.
Thanks for including the Augusten Burroughs book info. I love his work and I hadn’t heard of that short story collection.
Hope you enjoyed your evening of scrabble and vino. Your new bag is lovely. Does the model come with it. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.
Sadly he did not. I really debated the expense because I don’t leave the house much and rarely have the need to take my laptop unless I am traveling. But when I do usually just shove it sidewise in a bag with no closure. It’s a hassle in the security line, etc. It will last whatever is left of my lifetime and was on sale.
See I’m still convincing myself it was a good thing to spend money on. 🙂

I am sure you are a very frugal person. A few little luxuries make life worth living. My weakness is books.Enjoy your bag. It will give you much pleasure for many years.
I love that MIA story. It is probably the funniest post TT has ever written, and she writes some funny stuff.
I agree, that one had me in tears! 😀
And here I thought I was the only 1 who refuses to leave home unless my house is clean & in order. My entire (adult) life, I’ve been so extreme re this, I’ve actually refused to go even on an overnight unless ‘everything’ is in order (including bills paid, filing done, housework done, laundry ironed, etc., etc.). My fear has always been a plane crash or car accident & someone entering my home & seeing my affairs NOT in order!
I just discovered Floto bags 2 yrs ago & love their classic styling. They’re my 2nd favorite (next to Brahmin). A well deserved gift that’s sure to last a very long time. Enjoy.
Just so you know, I had a crazy, rough year. Moving, new job, family pain, you name it. Every day this blog game me something to smile about. And I can’t thank you enough! When the American Horror Story Recaps came along, I was so grateful!
Happy New Year!!
SO sorry you had a rough year, but glad UF and I could give some solace!
a very very nice older lady on our street who had cancer and was in a tough spot we had helped in a very big way by paying for her lodging at the cancer care alliance hotel in seattle. she didn’t ask for it, we knew she was struggling to pay for things and we knew it would help… so anyways when she was feeling much better and had been able to go back to work she showed up with a gift. inside the package was a set of waterford wine glasses. i was stunned, told her they were to much and she needn’t do that and all. she insisted we keep them. i went and bought my favorite cheap bottle of wine and drank it out of one of the glasses. it made both of us giggle to do that. when i posted what she and i were doing on facebook people were either shock we would defile waterford or thought it was a great way to drink cheap wine. love doing things like that. hope you keep enjoying them and are having a good holiday season
TT, I just got in, I didn’t want the night to go by without wishing you & Banjo a Very Happy New Year. I Love your comments, sometimes when I’m really down I come here because I know somehow you’ll say something that makes me laugh, and then I feel better….Thank You. What ever you do tomorrow night be safe, but most of all ENJOY!!!
I plan to be home. I don’t like to be on the road on major holidays especially drinking ones…
Thanks for the kind wishes! Happy New Year!
I agree! And happy new year to all! Be safe!
