I thought since there was not much interesting in the news, I could either make up a really funny story about interns crawling through Teresa Giudice’s secret trap door or we could just sort of free ball it and pretend we are all out at happy hour somewhere talking about crap we watch on TV.
So last night, was the finale of Survivor (SPOILERS AHEAD). First of all I have watched every single episode of every single season of Survivor. This was one of the most boring seasons ever. I was NONE TO PLEASED to see those annoying Indian twins on this episode. I could not stand them on The Amazing Race. (which I think ends tonight. Don’t spoil me.). But once they got split up, I started to really like Natalie all by herself. She was very good at endurance challenges and fairly crafty. Did you watch? What did you think of the season, and the winner?
Also, last night was The Taste I mostly watch for Anthony Bourdain. We had Master Chef Junior, (just ended), were you surprised who won? Also Hell’s Kitchen (also just ended) same question , and Top Chef all at once. I’m pretty sure there has been a Branzino on each one. Same with cauliflower puree. There must have been a dozen recipes that were done on all the shows. Anyway, I’d like to talk about Nigella Lawson. She got into some troubles in the tabloids recently, Go here to read it looks like a Jodi Arias post but it isn’t. Just skip the first paragraph. At the time I sort of didn’t believe the allegations but after watching her on The Taste for a couple seasons, I’m curious what y’all…especially my UK readers…have to say about her.
Also I am pretty much caught up on Kenya on Top and True Tori. I sort of feel dumb for kind of believing and wondering if maybe these two shows are more real than most. I love that on True Tori they argue about the camera. To me that makes it more real. Okay, you may proceed to call me stupid now.
I’m watching The Affair on Showtime. It’s kind of trippy and there is only one episode left and it really looks like there will be at least one suicide. Like everyone on the show is a candidate. The lovers, their spouses, the dude’s daughter. At least one somebody is going to off themselves. What was that last scene with Allison getting on the train? Is Noah killing someone in the preview? Who killed the dead guy? The dead guy seems like an afterthought to everything else going on.
I think I have already said fuck you for not watching Gracepoint. I liked that show but I hated the ending.
I also watch Hotel Impossible but am behind. I love that show. It comes on at a time I can’t record it and I end up having to record the midnight rerun and watch it on the weekends.
Oh Revenge I try to watch but it really sucks this season. I’m over it. Nashville is good this season.
I also watch Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain on CNN but I save most of them for special occasions. The Iran episode was really good. It is sad that two of the people Anthony interviewed got thrown in prison 6 weeks after filming.
What did I forget? As if that were not enough?
Have you been watching Girlfriends guide to divorce? If so what do you think?
Gracepoint is the ignorant American’s Broadchurch. 😉
Oh and btw. They changed the really good ending in Broadchurch for a shitty one in Gracepoint. Shocking! 😉
I hear there will be a sequel to Broadchurch. If so, I can’t wait.
Yep season two. I can’t wait!
I watched and loved Broadchurch. I didn’t see the point of Gracepoint, other than to prove, yet again, Americans can ruin any good show.
I AM A DUMB AMERICAN! I am not exposed to good shows from other countries. Why couldn’t I just have a nice watered down version? 🙁 I don’t really need to think that hard. I can barely follow Homeland without y’all explaining it to me.
I think Bravo has rotted my brain. 🙁

Please watch Secrets and Lies the Aussie miniseries. It is decent and soon to be Americanised/ruined so watch the original first.
After watching, and loving everything about Broadchurch, I forced myself to watch Gracepoint (mostly because I miss the Pacific Northwest so much). It was so disappointing. Other than David Tennant, I had never heard of any of the other actors – and hope I never see any of them again. The actress who played the mother of the dead child was just about the worst actress I have ever seen – truly not even worthy of a middle school play. Her idea of displaying grief was to run around with filthy hair for the entire series.
I will never understand the American penchant for remaking fine British programs and turning them into unwatchable twaddle.
I wish we could get foreign channels on TV. We actually get dozens of Mexican channels. With everything in Mexican. That seem to be the exact channels you would watch in Mexico.
But our BBC channel Is BBCAMERICA and our Al Jazeera Channel (which my current provider doesn’t even carry) Is Al Jazeera AMERICA. I don’t think we get a Canookian channel AT ALL.
Our government doesn’t want us to know any political news from around the world that is not incredibly biased in favor of the US. We are always right and never do any bad things in the world and all the other countries are the problem.
But we should at least be able to get some British shows. 🙁

I was wondering about why they had to change the ending of Broadchurch. Did they hope to get viewers who had already seen Broadchurch, and went, oh, we changed the ending, so you can watch it again? Or because it involved the P word that makes American’s piss their pants? I don’t know how they changed Gracepoint but I suspect that was the reason.
Revenge’s last episode was so great. It was a bit of a game changer. Was anyone else surprised about the death?
I’m not sure I’ve seen it.

I recall her from years ago on the BBC. She had a program that would best be described as ‘food porn’. I believe, at the time, she was a know food critic, recipe collector/writer and beautiful young widow/mother. She would make certain recipes she either was given, or figured out if it wasn’t given, or modified. Watching her taste, vigorously whip or stir, and eat was, er… inspiring.
Wasn’t surprised at who, just shocked that it was him coming to her rescue. I am surprised that David is trying to kill Victoria. I’m glad that they brought up committing his ex. He definitely was no angel. I’m tired of Victoria, and I can’t get interested in Louise. Really miss the chemistry between Emily and Aiden.
Honestly I thought he poisoned his wine glass or both hoping that with his death his daughter and Victoria would be free from the new threat. Then when she admitted the truth he realised he wants to hurt her.
Okay I remember the poisioned drink. but I think I may still be one epi behind. Didn’t he stop her from drinking it? I don’t remember. I’ve really hated this season.

it was almost like the old daniel had come back
The good Daniel? I have to admit I shipped Daniel and Emily. I secretly hoped they would join forces against their messed up parents and find some semblance of happiness.
Oh and this season of survivor was lacking strong players. The two biggest players both went post merge. Two goats made it to the end with Nat. The winner was obvious. Her idol play to blindside baylor was great but totally unecessary. She was a secure final three lock in with Missy and Baylor for awhile now.
Hey Micheal, I thought so too–that Nat was lock with Missy and Baylor–but I think it was more risky that Missy/Baylor could have turned on her at the last second and taken Jacklyn. Sometimes those two were sort of unpredictable, when they made decisions together. Nobody was ever taking Keith though, poor bastard.
The only real risk was if Keith went on an immunity streak he would likely go with Missy and Baylor to the final three. Even then the right play for Nat would have been to convince Baylor and Missy to sacrifice a partner so they would have a secure jury vote and a better ‘game’. I respect those who are willing to sacrifice family for the win.
Next season is supposedly very exciting. Higher IQs (white collar) usually do that. 😉
Mark my words. The white collar pansies will drop like flies. 🙂
I thought Probst was sort of an ass for mocking Keith’s game. He was one of the best older males at challenges!

I suspect that the White Collars will do crap early and great late game like the Brains from BBB season. Ultimately a well rounded intelligent Blue Collar will likely win it. Calling it now. 🙁
Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham) was in the back of the car. Master Chef Junior is fun. Abby is a cutie.
I don’t know who that person in the back of the car is. What has he done on the show???

I’m confused, I didn’t know he was in Islamabad. There’s only one epi left and want to see how Adar fits into the arc. Good guy or bad guy?
I think he is a bad guy or at least just looks out for his own interests. He played Saul against the new chief.
Thanks, Fivecats. I forgot about that. I nearly skipped this season of Homeland because I was so disappointed in the last season. It sucked.
I’m glad that with Brady gone and that cluster duck was over I gave it another chance.
Last season was bad, but this one has been very good. I am thinking Tasneem and Haqqani tie in with Dar Adal
I loved loved Nat’s game on Survivor. I can’t believe she pulled it off. I was holding my breath until the final tally. She deserved every penny for being the only entertaining person on this season of Survivor. I always had a soft spot for Nat and her sister on The Amazing Race. They’re so loud and brassy and obnoxious, but in a good way.
Haven’t watched any of the above mentioned TT. Sorry!
But here’s a few new ones I’ve been enjoying on demand:
1. House of DVF on E (Diane Von Furstenberg) A group of naive, catty, competitive girls unprepared for the real world of NY high fashion trying to become DVF’s brand ambassador.
2. Yankee Jungle on Animal Planet – reality wild animal zoo in Maine trying to survive on road kill for the big cats and quirky and endearing animal-loving misfits. Charming and a tear jerker.
I really want to watch the DVF show. I loved her on The City and The Fashion Panel (is that right? The one with Anna Wintor and a panel of fashion elite).
Yeah, that DVF (also Anderson Cooper’s mother and a Princess) and creator of THE wrap dress. But she’s classy, savy, professional and very, very rich daaaawling!
I don’t think E! Is an on demand choice for me. I need to find a marathon or at least when DVF comes on.

I am obsessed with DVF since I was child. She is an exotic beauty that always stood out from the other women I had crushes on the 70’s. I love her show on E, but I could care less about the competition part. I only watch to glimpses of DVF’s fabulous NYC life & empire.
I have to wonder how DVF managed to raise such a charming son. Anyone who can co-host with Kathy Griffin is special.

Watch the original similar but WAY better British ending and the upcoming British season two with me.
Anybody watched the nobel peace prize concert? Really nice concert and a nice chill friday vibe.
I watched a programme we have here, “Thank you for the Music” (tack för musiken) where an established and often quite loved artist talks about their music career, and life, while singing some lovely tunes. Today was a favourite, the really handsome Peter Jöback. Not famous at all in the US but was on broadway recently singing the role of Phantom, in Phantom of the Opera. His voice is so good! So cosy evening here 😉
MOB WIVES!!
No! You get out of here. We don’t want your kind here. 😉
I actually watched season one to completion. I’m so embarrassed.
I’d rather watch mob wives instead of RHONJ. It’s one of my guilty pleasures.
You should jump right on in to season 2, the crazy’s just getting started in season 1!
I promise I won’t tell… Your secret is safe with me!
I enjoyed Renee (I think is her name) the most. Actually to be honest I think I caught some of season 2 as well.
They’re a guilty pleasure. It’s sort of reminiscent. Though I was raised and hung around Chicago’s South side, so I knew and had ‘connected’ friends and relatives.
MOBWIVES! Such a crazy start to the Season! I can’t stand Natalie or Karen…I swear they only brought Karen back for Natalie and Renee to play with!
So far, I’m loving ‘GirlfriendsGuideToDivorce’ !
I watched the first four seasons of Mob Wifes, but sadly our local cable company got into a fight with Viacom and dropped them.
Crap I totally forgot about that show this season! Date and time please?

Wednesdays @ 9PM. Maybe @ 10PM, East Coast time for Mob Wives. Love me some Drita and Big Ang. The rest go scratch. Karen looks good this season but she’s still trying to deny her father’s a rat fink. Sorry, but Renee is a pig. If her sister hadn’t been the creator of the show, or whatever, I can’t imagine she’d still be on it. She and that Natalie are bitchy losers. Also, I have no idea when they filmed this but everyone has seriously ridiculous looking ombre hairdos this season. Ang lost tons of weight, everywhere but her boobs, and she looks like a big flotation device. But I still love her.
Big Ang is a sweetheart but it is hard for me to look at her lips which also look like floatation devices. Yikes! Also, I am still denial that I watch the show.
I’ve been watching The Affair on Showtime too. It’s been really hot and cold to me…one episode will be so freaking BORING…like, I know what an orgasm face looks like, I’ve been there once or twice in my life! No need to draw it out for 30 freaking minutes! And then the next episode will be full of storyline with relevant plot. Seems like Daddy is pissed at mistress’ brother-in-law for impregnating his daughter. We know brother in law is already dead and daddy’s book ends with a murder. I think daddy’s too much of a pussy to kill brother in law, but it’s possible that might just be the ending twist.
I find the story telling interesting. The two different points of view s to how thing unfold. Also find that when Noah’s mistress is telling her version his wife always appears to be prettier than when he tells his side.
If you have On Demand you can see a short interview with the wardrobe designer and she was saying that each character is styled differently (clothes, hair & makeup) depending on the storyteller.
I just really got into The Affair. I really enjoy the different perspectives the writers have developed for each character. Who will get on the train with Allison? I think it got a bit slow because it was supposed to be a 10 episode run and they renewed it for another season. Thanks for your cocktail party chat tonite as usual your blog helps me through some painful days. Oh and I’m totally up for writing some where’s the cash hidden senerios! Where is the train going? Back to NYC?

Of course Noah decided to return to Montauk when Helen booted him. As he comes down the platform he sees Allison, she looks at the two of them and walks away alone. Pfft.
By the way, have you ever watched Luther ? Another great BBC series starring Idris Elba? Allison plays the psyco parental
killer that falls in love with Luther and stalks him for a couple of seasons. I loved her in th role and didn’t realize it was the same actress until last night.
I tried to answer TT’s question about the train and I’m in moderation’. Don’t think I did anything wrong.

I LOVE Hotel Impossible! I keep hoping he’ll post a video on his facebook page on the most effective and efficient way to clean a bathroom. lol.
There was diarrhea left on the floor of a cleaned room the other day, He made a maid clean it up with toilet paper and bare hands. He was gagging, she didn’t care; she said she had seen worse. I think she used to clean up crime scenes.
HaHa I was thinking prison guard when I watched her. I couldn’t believe they kept her on.
I love it when the owners don’t his advice. Are they frigging stupid? I’m thinking of that one dude who owned a resort (?). I think it was in the Woodstock or someplace like that. The cabins were falling apart, mold everywhere, toilet not properly secured to the floor with a wax ring. I laugh so hard at Anthony’s reaction to getting toilet water on his shoes! The owner’s wife was so embarrassed by her husband!
Oops insert “don’t take his advice” please!
Love HI! Anthony is funny and good at what he does – have you seen Gordon’s Hotel Hell? He went swimming in a river in one epi in a speedo. Be still my heart 🙂

i like her. her sneaking down to the kitchen to grab a snack gets a bit old but is still kinda cute. i think she’s just a step above rachel ray cooking wise, but the shows are much less manic.
Nigella admitted to doing coke and was BANNED from the US for awhile.
She’s not a chef, she is not even a COOK she’s a food writer.
What is pissing me off with her this season is she doesn’t let anyone on her team cook without her telling them every single thing to do. They are not allowed to use their own skills they are just supposed to follow her directions. The other guys give their team a quick lesson, say do something similar that and they all put their own spin on things.
And Nigella seems like a bitch. When she kicks someone off because her dumb ideas lose all the time she basically says, “you need to learn to listen and do what I tell you.”

Yup. I missed the second epi but saw epi 3 the other night. I I was surprised that she was down 2 cooks at the start of the episode. After the team challenge she lost one more. As you said , she tells them what to do and expects them to Do It her way. She’s a horrible mentor. She doesn’t let anyone do their own thing. She takes no suggestions. I think she’s the one that needed to Listen. And, every dish she wants prepared is sweet, never savory and I don’t remember her ever using a protein. But I might have taken my ambien to early. Or it could have been the bourbon I used in a Demi- Glace. Kidding. No Demi-glacé. I like it neat.
I’m also addicted to State of Affair even though it’s not that great.

So love The Good Wife! I think it’s one of the best shows on and that courtroom shooting scene!
I kind of hope this is how they plan if writing Carey out of the show. I’m sick of his opposition to Dianne, when she has saved his ass how many times now?

I kind of like The Profit (CNBC) too. Similar to Shark Tank – Except he actually invests a majority $, takes over and makes the needed changes, much to the chagrin of loser-owners, who fight him every inch of the way. Many times lying about financials, etc.
The show I love watching CNBC is American Greed. Hope they have a new season soon . I look at it as Educational. It’s sad hearing the stories of how people are ripped off though. Another show I love is all the versions border security especially the Australian one.
I love The Profit. Especially when the people do not follow his advice and he takes back the million dollars he gave them.
@ cece: I love ‘American Greed,’ too! I was told the new season comes on in January, but don’t quote me on that.
The final season of Justified is beginning in a Couple of weeks. I resisted watching it the first season two because I mistakenly thought it was a ‘cowboy’ show. How very wrong I was.
Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins are wonderful. The show is based on n Elmore Leonard character. Violence, sex, drugs, and wonderfully crazy characters along with good story Arcs and great dialogue!
If anyone watches, do you know that Walton, who plays Boyd Crowder, also played the role of Venus on Sons of Anarchy? Her last scene with Tig on SOA was one of the most touching ever . Amazingly gifted actor.
Curious if none else here watches.
I adore Anthony Bourdain. Now I need to read the Nigella link. As for Gracepoint, that was a redo of a BBC series from last year. I was similarly disappointed in the ending. My memory sucks but I think it was Broadchurch?
I need to re watch the last epi of The Affair. I don’t recall thinking about a suicide. I probably fell asleep .
Allison tried to drown herself and is coming unglued. She thinks/thought Noah’s wife was pregnant, then the MIL tells her she wishes she would have died instead of her kid. And she can’t seem to decide between cole and Noah. AND she randomly fucked the town asshole in the middle of it all. I predict SHE will get pregnant and need help from Maury with three possible choices..
Love love love Justified! Also husband and I are in the middle of a Sons of Anarchy marathon…horrible acting — but like an accident where you cannot make yourself look away…….
Tampa, where you really need to suspend disbelief is with the shoot outs and chases that occur every week in Charming and Stockton. The number of dead people never seems to be noticed by cops.
Tampa, Jax’s bare back is a lovelY sight.Oomph. I loved bad boys. Admittedly the cast is not all that pretty but Bobby, Tig, Chibs,Otto (Kurt Sutter) et al are great characters. Jax slips up with his accent a lot, Right back into that Newcastle accent.
I don’t know what season you’re up to so I hesitate to say more. The season finale was last week and I was lost this past Tuesday.
@ deco: I was told last season was ‘Justified’s finale. Awesome! There’s another season.
One more season. Running promos now and I’m thrilled. Great characters, great dialogue. I love bad boy Boyd. As for Raylan ? He’s a great bad boy too. I really hope neither of them re killed in the finale.
I love Justified, watched since day 1, can;t wait for it to start up again but also sad it is the last season.
Hell’s Kitchen I was suprised of one of the final two choices. In the end the right person won. Best Choice. Also it was nice to see that the chefs who were sent home prior were genuinely happy for the winner!
Regarding Tori and Dean I cannot even stand reading about them. I love the chopped shows but refuse to watch chopped Canada since they have Dean as the host. Watching him puts me off food which is no easy task.
Final two dude on HK was a moron. I don’t know how he went as far as he did.
I was just glad to see a woman win for once. As a chef myself, the industry is so god-damn male dominated and they tend to feel justified and entitled. Rat bastards!
I don’t understand how he made it that far either. i was glad Latasha won. Santos is completely delusional.
I watched True Tori season 1 but not 2. Is she being real? She is an actress so it makes you suspicious but I was sucked in anyway. I want Tori to be happy. Dean is a douche. If they didn’t have four small children, I would tell her to dump his cheating ass!
This post-merge season of Survivor has been amazing. Your opinion is wrong. I didn’t know the twins from TAR, so I went in with a clean slate. I loved Jaclyn/Reed/Natalie/Keith post-merge. Like, everyone besides Wes delivered.
I’m very happy with the ending of this season.
You have to admit that Natalie won the show a little too easily. Keith, Missy and Jacyln had little to no game and no big moves. The big game players were removed right after the merge. It was nothing compared to last season and the Tony and Spencer faceoff.
Jaclyn is the sole reason why Josh left, and a big part of the reason Reed’s plan to blindside Jon DIDN’T work. Had Jon listened more to Jaclyn’s intuition, Natalie would not have outed Jon so easily.
Arguably, this post-merge had a lot of big players like Josh, Jeremy, Reed, Jon/Jaclyn and Natalie.
Oh and before it is ruined in America please watch Secrets and Lies. It’s an aussie mini series and is great.
I just googled Secrets and Lies. I need to find out where I can stream it. It stars Brenda Blethlyn too.. If your not familiar with Vera, it’s a BBC Detective series with Brenda as title character. She’s similar to aFemale Columbo.
The English landscape is beautiful. I think it’s shot in the Highlands and by the coast. A lot of misty grey skies and green hills with cozy cottages.
I love Vera! I’ll have to look for Secrets and Lies too.
I love/hate True Tori in spite of my self. I too think her and Kendra are more real than the others. I agree with Angel, that Dean is a douche; however, I hate myself when I find I am siding with him (on occasion). Oh the emotional rollercoaster I experience when Tori’s inability to confront anything, her major hoarding issue, and her desire to appear wealthy takes the lead in her decision making…. I find myself drawn back every week. I find myself hoping that she keeps taping because I can’t look away and I really hope the best for her but then I also hope that she stops taping because she needs to get a handle on her issues without using tv to bring in the money.
My guilty pleasure is watching paranormal shows like A Haunting, The Dead Files, Celebrity Ghost Stories, and The Haunting of.

Nigella Lawson. Hmm. Well I don’t know. Her husband was integral to the last major art movement (young British artists) in the 1990’s, which was also the most financially successful group of contemporary artists. He’s done lots of shady things in the art market because it’s so incredibly unregulated. I’ve never heard one nice thing uttered about him. So I assume she has to be a piece of work herself.
Hey Tamara, did you recognize Chef Joe from Big Brother on the Taste? I’d watch anything Bourdain does. I lerv him.
USA channel has a couple of amusing show. Benched, about a female lawyer who loses her shit at her high powered job and gets canned and has to go to work as a public defender. The other show is Chrisley knows Best. Atlanta based and pretty amusing. Well, Chrisley is amusing and he carries the show.
Downton Abbey and Mad Men coming in January! Love Boardwalk Empire.
It’s a wonder my limbs haven’t atrophied by now.
OMG! I knew I knew that guy. Did he get sent home already?

Yes, TT. Chef Joe got sent home this week for not sticking to his southern, Kentucky cookin’. He tried to modernize his cooking by putting Parmesan crisps on his pork belly. Marcus was not pleased. Nor was my Tony.
Yeah I remembered him being in the bottom, didn’t he get a gold star too? I would have been sad if I had realized why he looked familiar.
Dude must be REALLY good at reality interviews!

I think TT should make Urethra recap Game of Thrones for the nerds in the room. 😀
I’d love for UF to recap anything he wants to recap. However, he has a job and I think his busy season is not too far away. I don’t cover his beanie weanie cans he eats by the radiator. I have to let him go earn some food money for a few months here and there. I’m not completely unreasonable.

It’s never too late. I’m a late in life freaktard and I’m enjoying the show. 😀
I would so love a Game of Thrones recap. That would be a tough show to recap. Start with how many main characters died.
Hi TAMRA I’m new to posting I really enjoy UR site I read it everyday & I LUV reading all comments, I hope I get my question ANWSERed , I read somewhere tat married to med has been canceled , is this true?
God I hope so. I’ve never watched it or kept up with it. Sorry.
This comment just gave me cancer. :/
It gave you The Cancer, Michael. 😉
I see what you did there girl. 😀
I have no standards but I draw the line at Love And Hip Hop. Mostly because I sometimes need subtitles to understand what they are saying because Im not hip enough.
I have no interest in watching that either.

I was happy Logan won Master chef Jr. All those kids were impressive. And happy Latasha won Hell’s kitchen. She was a definite fighter and deserved it. Bryant just didn’t seem like a winner to me
I love to watch cooking shows with my teens – but don’t like to watch kids cooking on shows like Master Chef Jr., and Chopped with kids. Not sure why – they all seem so precocious and annoying. I just imagine the stage moms and pushy agents that got them on tv….
You’re not watching for the right reasons. You are watching to see kids being tortured and crying because they put too much milk in the mashed potatoes. And to see snotty Samuel lose to the kid with the bowtie!

I also watch the DVF show. I don’t think any of the candidates would be a good brand ambassador.
I love The Curse of Oak Island on the History channel, Gold Rush on Discovery, except I wouldn’t weep if Todd broke his stupid, lazy ass and had to go home to Oregon. Covert Affair on USA is finishing up season 5. I seldom stick with anything 5 seasons, but I fantasize I am Annie. I’m ready for Downton Abbey. I did not jump in on it until s3. There was such a good catch up program preseason, I never felt behind. Did not choose to watch s1 & 2 recently aired because I do not have patience to see repeats, even though not repeats for me. I like The Little Couple, sort of a rich little people show. The more low brow version of female little people starts s2 on Jan. 4. I forget the show title on TLC, it is fairly good.
I watch to dang much TV, I will soon be a stinky rotten potato.
And I thought I was the only one that watched Curse of Oak Island! I like Mystery at the Museum on Travel channel too.
I used to watch all the paranormal ones you mentioned. I am down to just 1 now. They all use the same repetitive formula for waisting my time. I want to see someone chased by a scary apparation; if that’s not happened by now, it never will. I am off the evil monsters as well, flying humanoids do not exist, even if one of the most believable tales is from near by.
The chupacabra is real! If you are familiar with this creature, the sheriff’s dash board video of it was taken in the town next to mind. One night I was driving through the town, just as I got past it, in the country, and something came running across the highway. It almost caused me to have a wreck. I know what a deer looks like and a coyette, it wasn’t one of those. I swear it was the chupacabra! It looked like the animal in the video.
My husband got me watching Curse of Oak Island, and I really like it. Merry Christmas, Angel(?).
Merry Christmas to you as well Sandra! I hope they find something. My husband and I watch Ancient Alliens on History too. We like laughing at their crazy theories. Then we argue who’s more likely to be real big foot or the alliens lol! I vote for big foot because the alliens would have annihilated us by now.
Bigfoot? More like Manbearpig. Way too many sightings of him for it not to be real. 😀
If I’m not mistaken, Finding Big Foot has been to Australia looking for the yowie! You better watch out Micheal!
We have a thing called ‘dropbears’ who drop from the trees and kill you. Realistically though we have enough REAL critters that will gladly kill you, we don’t have to worry about the fake ones. 🙁
I love Gold Rush. Todd is an asshole and seriously needs to do something with that beard. It’s disgusting. I like Bering Sea Gold, too.
Actually, I watch many of the Alaskan reality shows. Alaska, The Last Frontier is a favorite, too. Those homesteaders amaze me and it doesn’t seem scripted. If you watch, Atz senior is the one that sings the title song. He wrote it with his daughter, Jewel. I had no idea that was her family when I first started watching.
For some reason I’m fascinated by their lifestyle although I could never live it. The ingenuity in building and construction, problem solving, hunting and gathering, growing their veggies, and caring for their cattle, etc is astounding to me. They’re all really well educated too. They seem like Real People. Strong family bonds, disagreements happen but they take pleasure in being together. I will be so disappointed if I find that it’s all a farce.
The hunting does disturb me but that’s what their lifestyle demands. Everything is appreciated and nothing is wasted.
Life Below Zero is also pretty good.
My tv viewing doesn’t include much Bravo anymore. If I hadn’t watched bravo though I might not have found this blog way back when. I remember TT having exclusive photos of Kim Z’s wedding and other blogs ripping them off. This was before penalties of STDs and worse were introduced for content theft. Lol
I stayed up most of the night watching On Demand last night. I haven’t had On Demand for very long and it’s very addicting. I got Showtime at the same time (I changed providers) I had never seen Homeland and spent a week or two right away bingewatching from season one. Last night I watched two episodes of Alaska and two of the gold digging show. But they only had two episodes of each which is good because I may have never gone to bed.

Gold Rush is addictive, I know. Try finding Bering Sea Gold. These idiots dive in summer when the Ice breaks up on the Sea. Frigid water, dark and creepy, they stay under for as long as eight hours, dredging with a hose to the sluce boxes up top on the boats.
They’ve added another season of BSG t hat takes place in winter while the sea is frozen. They dive under the ice through a hole and dredge the same way. Theses guys are far crazier then Gold Rush. They have to be.
Love the Mob Wives. WTF happened that there is such a big rift between Crazy Renee versus Big Ang, Dritta and that punk, Natalie Mob Candy cop caller with her boy, London? The three of them (Natalie not incl) were very close, like pants to ass. I cannot believe that Natalie was the cause. I think it may be Renee and her habit (Yes, I think she’s still using.), and her going after Natalie for frankly being honest BUT, flapping her jaw. Renee LOVED Natalie, because she reminded Renee of herself. NOW Renee hates her for the same reason!
Something’s fuk’d when Dritta (My fave. Tough as she is, she is loyal to the end, giving, and all heart.) not only is peace-maker, but is preaching non violent solution.
I frankly think that Dritta would feel MUCH better about life, less cagey dealing with the Staton Island Stooges, Natalie and Karen against Renee if she backhanded a bitch hard enough to lift her about 2 inches off the pavement. I think she’d be more relaxed afterward. Lee, the stores, and kids is a load. Add nut cases like Renee and Karen, Dritta’s gonna bust a bitch’s jaw if she doesn’t backhand a bitch to let a little steam off; get it out of her system.
Doesn’t Ang have a spin off? Or am I crazy?
Yes, Ang had a spinoff, called Miami Monkey. Think low-rent Vanderpump Rules.
She opened a South Beach Miami location of her bar, and the show revolved around the employees of the bar and their exploits. Rather like…yes…VR. I don’t watch VR so I don’t know how involved Lisa is to compare, but on Miami Monkey Big Ang had a fair amount of screen time.
I haven’t seen anything about there being a season 2, but I haven’t been looking either.
Ha a low-rent VR? It must be bad since VR is probably the trashiest show I have seen recently.
Has Lee been on camera?
Only by phone. He sounds better. Drita was calming down one season, I think it was 2; now she’s all badass again. They must all be using some new hair product. Everyone but Big Ang and Karen is sporting some stringy looking locks.
you channel our heroine beautifully!
Dang. I got a moderation. Really?
Off topic but…where is Tamara? That crazy elephant is back you can caught now!
We just got hooked on How to Get Away With Murder. Viola Davis is so pretty and they manage to basic her up something awful for her bed scenes. The show itself is engaging and the character of Annalise – she’s appealing and I want to love her but I am afraid to get too attached. There’s something up with her and the detective she had following her husband. I get the impression she’s interested in him for more than his information and looks. Unfortunately from the last episode it seems like he may not be willing to give her a chance.
Did you get to the episode where she takes every bit of make up and her wig off on HD TV? It’s amazing…

Yes! And I really think they worked to make her not pretty in that scene.
Moonshiners, how could I have forgotten you? Risking it All, about families going off the grid, gold Rush and the slew of Alaska shows it spawned, 90 Day Fiancé, sister wives, real world Challenge, OMG, I’m pathetic.
I have watched every Survivor episode, and this season was not great, though I am glad who won, she was the only one that did anything.
Love Anthony Bordain, will watch anything he does! Also, tonight was David Letterman’s last Christmas show and Craig Ferguson’s last show ever. Made me sad, he was great to watch.
OMFG NEW Madonna music just dropped on iTunes. #RebelHeart
She’s mad her album leaked so it is probably on the fast track for release now. She believes it is the same as ‘rape’.
Metaphorically speaking. She’s allowed to use metaphors to describe how she feels for being robbed. I won’t judge her for that context.
Of course she had to do some marketing damage control even though Beyonce did the ultimate “surprise” drop first. Only 6 songs are available now if album is pre-brought/pre-ordered… I’ve loved her since day one from 1983.
She also stated that the album leaked is only about 50% accurate. My impression is that they are in damage control and are going to rewrite the final version of the album and replace half with backup songs that originally were not going to make it to this album. I wish she chose her words more appropriately, however I can empathise with her situation and understand she must be pretty frustrated.
@UF…well..Beyonce dropped her cd early after she stole Futures song Drunk in Love. He had it on his CD first and Beyonce quickly dropped her CD prior to Future’s release.
Micheal I suspect that when the album is released in the spring that these 6 songs will be different. That’s why I didn’t buy them but I did it acquire them by other means. I’m sure her team panicked & tried to use this to their advantage by creating a buzz; and it surprised the hell out of me that she did this. She is so calculated & methodical & OLD SCHOOL about the timing and release of her music.
Simone I didn’t know all that stuff about Beyonce. I like BeyBey, and have her first 2 or 3 cd’s, but I don’t know any of her music post Sasha Fierce.
Still watching Survivor, but last few seasons not as interesting (are there any moves players can make that have not already been done?) and the folks deciding who to take to finals are all idiots. Missy and Jacqueline should have taken Natalie. She had just done a couple of pretty bold moves which jury members love, especially true fans of the game. They still probably would have lost to Keith, but at least gotten to point to a bold play on their part and cast Keith as one who just lumbered along and was never in the thick of strategy and game play.
Missy, this jury is NOT like a murder trial. Would not have voted for you for that very statement.
Baylor, you are a brat.
Natalie, would not have voted for you after the unprovoked tirade at John. He took the bait and worked out well for you. Showed lack of character and control on both of your parts. The “black out” defense was pure bullshit.
Jeremy, no one has to take care of the little lady/wife.
While I like the “hidden immunity idol” concept it seems there are WAY too many of them lately. They seem to be just laying around all over the place.

The best immunity idol play ever was on Heroes v Villains with Parvati playing both her hidden idols (that no one knew she had both) to save Sandra (eventual winner) and Jerri. She deserved that seasons win, however bitter juries can be dirty.
That’s another thing. Why the hell do people tell people they have a damn idol?
On Sat, Dec 20, 2014 at 4:20 PM, Tamara Tattles wrote:

I would not tell anyone I had an idol ever. Also why do people hint at tribal council who they are going to vote for? They could have an idol! Idiots.
I think it was the China season (loved that too) where the immunity idol was part of their sign or something visible at their camp since day one. That was a great twist. Unfortunately now most players are savvy enough to find idols without any clues. They need to mix it up a bit and instead of hidding them maybe make them become available to players if they succeed in accomplishing something first.
Missy is the greatest embodiment of taking a goat to the finals. Her daughter had to force her to make strategic moves and she didn’t even take part in most of the final challenges with very little risk of being voted out. Personally Baylor had a better strategic game than Keith. People can’t look past her annoying brattish behaviour. Ultimately she was my second pick for the win. She at least made moves and when voted out was not bitter towards Natalie. You have to respect that.
Baylor should have voted her mother out at her first opportunity. While I am good with Natalie winning, I’d have been thrilled with a Keith win. He would have had a great aw shucks I’m just a fireman who played the whole game with no alliance speech….

When he choked up at the reunion I felt bad for what Probst said with him ‘lacking any gameplay or strategy’. It seemed still very raw for him. He may come back in the new heroes v villains season as a hero (not to my liking but then again I was never a Rupert fan and Keith is kind of like Rupert). I prefer the intelligent strategic women like Parvati and Amanda. It was an adequate end to an ok season. I hope the next season really is decent.
Keith played a MUCH better game than most people with less intellect, strength, knowledge of the game or alliances than the LARGE majority of players. I feel like his kid applied and he was thrust into an unknown situation and damn near won the whole thing.

I suspect that his son missed out on being cast last season as a brawn so they asked if any family members would film this season with him. It is my understanding that usually two seasons are filmed back to back so casting is done for both concurrently. Plus they usually have alternatives incase a few contestants drop out. So I agree with your assumption that Keith was thurst into a world he was neither prepared for nor really wanted to be a part of originally. Which is why I felt bad when he cried.
Micheal,
Regarding your comment about hidden idol during season in China(?), that was a great twist. If I remeber correctly wasn’t it part of the handle on the basket that held the rice? It was something like that, it was touched everyday. Very cool
Yeah I think that was it. One of the dummies also commented after it was removed ‘umm why does the rice bucket look different?’. The good old days.
Oona and Logan are my imaginary children. I knew the moment they were given a chicken task and she chose to make a liver pate or mousse over every.other.chicken part that an 8 year old had a better palate than I do. I feel for the pretentious fat one. I wanted to beat him up after each confessional, so even in his element he’s already a biggo ass.
Natalie was brilliant figuring out a couple of the voting strategies and making those moves. I hated them on TAR, but she made this season of Survivor for me and deserved the win hands down. It was also good to see 3 females at the end, although personally I think Missy should have been kicked off if she couldn’t compete in challenges. That was some bullshit.
Oh, do I feel stupid. Gloria Vanderbilt is Anderson Cooper’s mom, not Diane Von Furstenberg. I’m pretty sure I bought a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans in the 80’s that promptly fell apart. Cheap-ass designer shit. I remember looking at her name stitched in metallic thread and thinking, I’ll never buy her crap again. That should have been my fist clue!
It messed with Tamara’s head that a few of us were saying DVF was Anderson’s mom, so it was worth it for that.

The finale last season with frank, his kid and the bottle at the lake….broke my then preview showed that Steve returns. Can’t wait.
Can’t seem to get out of moderation, some sort of purgatory, mea culpa.
Another good show that I watch all the time is Face Off on SyFy. I love they come up with their creations and create them! Way cool! Movie make up is complicated.
I’ve only heard good things about this show. Like Project Runway (which I love) but for makeup?
It’s far more than makeup applications.i don’t watch often but if I do catch it I always find it interesting.
You have to be an artist and a fabricator to create the prosthetics. I use to fancy myself to be a sculptor and artist back in the day, so it’s fascinating to me. Ve Neill, Glen Hetrick, Neville Paige are the judges. Between them, the have created the special effects for movies like Hunger Games, Avatar, Pirates of the Caribbean, Beatlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and more. Michael Westmore is the mentor. I think it’s one of the best reality competition shows out there!
Ok just started watching season 7 while at the gym. It is just like Project Runway which is great. I hope they have to do team challenges and unconventional ones too. Those always cause the drama.
Wow, ya’ll are behind! Season 7 was a good season. They have completed season 13 here. We are watching season 4 of All-Stars now. Project runway also started a new show called Threads were young designers compete. They are teenagers. It’s cute.
One thing that many people will never unsderstand aia Mob Wives is it really is all about respect. As you give so shall you recieve. In other words dont’t pull a tiger’s tail. Nothing new around here. As Phaedra would say everyboby knows…these girls are playing for keeps.
If y’all want some Masterchef and MC J tea, I have a little – I was on a cruise in November that was also a MC cruise (Partner and I booked the cruise and was surprised when we got on and found others had paid several thousand more to attend MC events). Shall I share?

I love Homeland also which surprises me bc I don’t particularly like the main character, Carrie. It’s rare I like a show when I’m not attached to a main character, but she does a great job with the role and there’s lots of suspense. My other new favorite is Stalker – reminds me of a cross between How to Get Away With Murder and Criminal Minds. Great unpredictable mysteries with interesting characters and back story – highly recommend! It’s on Wednesdays at 10…on one of the network channels, I forget which.
I agree Carrie is not a likeable character. I think that is part of why the show is so good. I thought it was interesting that when her dad died she suddenly remembered she had a kid….
Even Quinn is not a likeable guy, but a bad guy type you might be inappropriately attracted to.
Hell they are all sort of deeply flawed. But I am utterly hooked and said there is only one more episode.
