I’m trying to get caught up on the tragic death of Scot Young, the millionaire ( or billionaire according to his ex-wife) who appeared on Ladies of London as the girlfriend (fiancée in waiting) of American model Noelle Reno.
To refresh your memory the major storyline of Noelle and Scot was that all of his money was frozen because of a 6 year long divorce process where he was accused of hiding billions of dollars off shore by his ex who was fighting for her half. Recently the judge had determined Scot’s worth at about 60 million dollars and awarded the wife half. He also wished her luck in actually seeing a dime of the money and it seems according to the sources I have read that as of last summer she had still not received her settlement.
Here is an excerpt of a blog I wrote on Ladies of London that was a typical scene with Scot, who seemed to be one of the men on the show that enjoyed the cameras…
Noelle and Scot were supposed to move into their apartment, but somehow Scot has failed to mention a delay in moving to Noelle. They are not getting on well. Noelle and Scot go wine shopping, and a lovers quarrel breaks out. Scot asks Noelle if she really wants everyone overhearing this. Noelle tells him no one is listening. And she is probably right, no one is, except the guys with the cameras. Noelle goes in on Scot telling him he needs him to man up and take care of his responsibilities. Then, ten seconds later they kiss and go upstairs for wine. It was like a pop up shower, it seemed threatening, but quickly blew over.
Reports of a season two of Ladies of London had recently been announced.
On Monday evening Scot “fell” from a four-story window in a swanky section of London and landed on a spiked wrought iron fence where he was gruesomely impaled. Fire and rescue had to cut the fence apart to remove the body. The police have NOT ruled the death suspicious. It is unclear if Noelle was home at the time. Some sites are reporting the death as a suicide but there has been no official confirmation. Friends of Scot said that he was distraught over his financial situation but one said “there were also other issues.”
Noelle gave this short statement to the press, “I am distraught by the sudden loss of my best friend and ask that you give me the respect and privacy I need to grieve in peace.”
OMG. How awful. Sounds like something out of a scary movie.
Yikes just reading how he died made my body tense up, lawd have mercy.
I liked him. The ex-wife called the 20-million-euro settlement ‘a disgrace’.
It was British pounds not euros. Pounds are worth more than euros and dollars…

Thanks, TT – I didn’t know Britain still used the pound.
The pound has always been so strong they would have been dumb to go to the Euro… way before we knew how that would play out!
So sad to hear this, what a terrible way to die. Now the ex wife can maybe shut up. Is she happy now? Hope Noelle is coping OK. All the fighting ever money seems rather foolish now doesn’t it. Hope he left what the wife didn’t get to Noelle.
Or maybe his two daughters he was not supporting?
Certainly a terrible way to die but he was very creative with where his huge fortune went after filing for divorce, He was sent to prison for not provided financial documents to the court. Why in the world would his money go to his mistress and not his children?
Your post shows a rather blithe disregard for the wife- who btw, would not have found it necessary to take her ex to court, had he been more open and forthcoming about his finances. So kind of you to shame her & blame her for this tragedy. I’m sure if you found yourself in similar circumstances, you would have been happy to walk away with less then was your due. Your ability to look at this issue so casually in black and white is really sad. Scot suffered from depression for many years – it was well known in certain circles in London.
How sad and a terrible way to go. I get “falling”, but not on a spiked iron fence. (shiver) Hope there wasn’t foul play involved, but that was my 1st thought. I thought he seemed decent boyfriend and under Noelle’s thumb. I hated how she went to that event without him, showed how entitled and selfish she is.
Yeah I really can’t imagine someone wanting to kill themselves by throwing themselves 4 stories onto an iron wrought fence.
I’m just guessing they have to know something we don’t, I can’t imagine that they would rule it suicide so quickly otherwise.
In my post, they said they had not ruled on whether it was a suicide or despite widely being reported as such.
I was er…. on the fence (too soon?) about it until I found out it was a fall from a window and not a balcony.
I think suicide seems more likely. I doubt he was aiming for the fence. There was however a LOT of conflicting information in the British news. What I found most telling were some interviews with his friends that I read. They indicated he was clearly depressed. Whether he jump or got drunk and fell out… who knows. But from the pictures I saw, you would need some outward momentum either from a jump (or a push) to land on the fence.

I’ve read a few media reports discussing his sectioning under their Mental Health Act in late 2012. He had a lot of paranoia issues reportedly.
Yeah. I left that out. But he was involuntarily committed for a hot second I think.

Well shit, maybe he had a reason to be paranoid after all.
Shocking and sad.
JFC…may he rest in peace.
how terrible, i cannot think of a more horrible way to die. hope his family finds peace.
Hopefully Mrs Young can get the amount owed to her so their two kids can be well looked after. He was the British version of Slade Smiley who went to jail for lying about his hidden fortune just last year I believe. He also didn’t pay child support or alimony because he was too poor. However, he did manage to pay his rent for his very lavish apartment. Just saying.
Um Slade Slimey and Scot Young had absolutely zero commonalities financially.

Their lack of financial support to their children whilst living in expensive housing is a commonality they share.
I’m not exactly sure of his financial support issues. I didn’t feel like this was the time to bring it up. We are talking about two very wealthy parents. That is not really the lead story here.

God, wait until the body’s cold at least, then rip into the man. (And, no, he and Slade were not alike.)
Wow if he met a death like that because of suicide he must have been in a very dark place. So sad.
I wonder if he was distraught because he didnt have the wealth they thought he had and thought his girlfriend would leave him because he was penniless. At this point all the money had probably gone to lawyers fighting his ex for years. He had friends loaning him money for his lifestyle. They may have cut him off. Sad for all parties involved.
Just wondering why not credit the source, where you read your information. It looks like the Daily Mail. You have even quoted the ex wife, but not referenced the source.
I did not quote the ex-wife. I quoted Noelle. Noelle issued a statement to the press. Those are her words that I quoted. Thus I wrote, “Noelle made this short statement to the press.”
I read several articles all with conflicting information. Some said he fell from a balcony others said he fell out of a window. Some said suicide, some said accidental fall. Some said he was distraught over finances, others said he was distraught about “other things.”
After researched the mainstream British media (not the tabloids you mentioned) I put together the information that seemed most credible. Much like NBC, CBS, FOX and the US media did.
I’m flattered that you spend your time thinking about my researching abilities which took up several hours of my morning. Perhaps now you can free your mind to worry about more pressing issues.
You don’t need to ‘source’ anybody for anybody, Tamara. Your forum isn’t a flipping news site, so you may exercise your preferences and opinion about the manner of death, the media’s death notice, or memorialize the frequency or number of times his homewrecking American side piece, turned jump-off turned mistriss, turned fiance’, mistreated and emasculated him while shooting the BRAVO reality show, and how she was up
OMG!!! This is nuts.
That is so sad. People need to realize that you can’t take this money when you die. So obsessed over paper that does not last long. When they do get it, they are still not satisfied.
Yes. How many millions do these people need, before they stop wheeling/dealing/risking the fortunes they’ve already amassed and just sit back to enjoy some or it. Sad, all the way around.
Oh no . . . sounds like a gothic tale! A tragic end to a good life. I’m so sorry.
Yeah, I’ll be having nightmares just seeing the spiked fence with the big chunk cut out. The fact that they could not remove him from the fence… I just can’t think about it.
Can you imagine the nightmares his children and family will have to live with? He must have hated himself to follow through with such a grissly and messy finish to his life.
People who end their own lives do not “hate” themselves, they just love their loved ones more. In the fog, they think they are doing good. Sacrificing themselves for the survival of the others.
Accidents can be intentional and sometimes intentions can be accidents. I know that may not make sense to some people. It’s an extremely fucked up act of kindness trying to make amends for mistakes.
Be thankful if you don’t understand that.
Shocking! I saw a scene like that in a Death Wish movie. I was really young and that scene where the girl jumps out the window and gets impaled on a fence has always stuck with me.
It’s so sad . . . . people who take care of so many others don’t always receive the same care and compassion.
Shock! My sympathy to his family and friends.
may he rest in peace. terrible news.
Waiting for a lot more on this story. The Boris Berozvsky connection is more than intriguing; not to mention how both deaths occurred. What I know about suicide (and no, I am not an expert-nor do I play one on TV), is that it is highly improbable that you would throw yourself out of a four story window. You would need more height. Secondly, hurling yourself onto the fence railing is messy, not foolproof and painful. Not up there on the top 25 ways to go.
I don’t know about the extra details but, actually in well thought out sucides(not spur of the moment ones), “disposing” outside of the home area and trying to guarantee death is very common. It’s seen as an attempt to not harm loved ones any more because strangers will be the ones to discover the deed.
It’s meant to be kind. It doesn’t work but that’s the intention.
I never thought of it that way.
Not many people do, Micheal. Its not always the case but it happens more often than not, in my experience. The notes left behind tell only the tale they want told. It’s usually the same tale. It’s heartbreaking, for sure.
Yes. I had a friend who killed herself in a remote area. She wanted her family to be able to sell her car and home w/o a lot of trouble. Sad stuff.
Thought-out suicides can be amazing in the lengths they’ll go to to ensure death, usually quickly and as painless as possible. As someone mentioned above, this death seemed horrific and not a “sure-fire” way to die. Maybe hitting the fence was just a coincidence? It would be hard to plan that, either in killing oneself or someone else.
I agree. I don’t think you accidently fall out of a window either. I want to know things like…was the window open? Did he fall through the glass? Did he leave a note? Who else was home? Toxicology report? The reports yesterday were all VERY different. And it was two days later. Should there not have been some sort of definitive statement from police by then?

Not trying to develop a sinister theory larger than I could comprehend in my life, but the connection to the Russian billions cannot be ignored, even though Scotland Yard is denying “suspicious circumstances”. Yet what we “know” of this man, if suicide were contemplated, I believe it would be through a weapon, or pills-not a gruesome crushing on a fence. That method is a message of death from someone bigger than I know.
Depending on time, an autopsy takes about a week. The report takes longer. It comes soon after, if emailed. The actual paper version takes about a month before it’s available.
I’m in Florida so I don’t know how things are handled elsewhere. I would not expect police to report any thing. They come in as if a crime has been committed but if there was no crime, it’s left as just that. No crime. And they take that damn tape with them.
I wouldn’t expect a note, either. These days their phone has better answers. I snatched my sister’s phone from the detective’s hand. Mostly because our father didn’t need to know what was in there but also because no stranger should be reading her personal correspondence. No crime had been committed, she was dead, leave her alone IMO. I can handle it from here.
As far as weapons and pills go? That’s not a guarantee. You can choke down a barrel and still live. You can swallow a bottle of pills and puke them up. Or pass out. Which leaves you open for medical care. When a person really wants to go, they do it hardcore. Like a murder but self inflicted. A guaranteed result, nonetheless.
Again, as fucked up as it is, it’s meant to be kind to those left behind. It’s not but, that’s what they are going for.
So very sorry for everyone’s tragic loss. RIP Scot Young, my deepest sympathies and condolences to his family and friends.
His job was supposedly A”fixer” for the very rich. This is according to the ex wife. I wonder what sort of Russian deal he invested in where (he says) he lost everything. Very shady. He seemed broke to have stayed in jail for 6 months. Who would do that if u had the money hidden somewhere?? Bizzare…
Who is your ex wife/how does she have info on him?
Okay, so he SUPPOSEDLY stayed in jail, pretending to be broke, so he could keep all his money (which was stashed away for later). That was the rumor. I have absolutely no credentials other than that’s what people were saying.
According to the Daily Mail, police suspect this death was a ” hit job” by the Russian mafia. He owed them big bucks ( or should I say Euros) and, being bankrupt, certainly couldn’t pay them back. BTW, the Russian Mob makes the Italians look like nursery school kids! They have expanded their turf throughout London and its immediate environs. This was no suicide!
That’s also what I’ve read. The Ruskies don’t fuck around. Apparently they dangled him out a window a few years ago for unpaid debts. I just can’t see someone choosing to end their life by jumping from a window with rot iron down below. Hanging or pills seems more likely…but, I’ve never been suicidal so who knows.
This is so sad. He seemed nice. It’s sad that people can’t wait a little longer to rip him and/or his girlfriend to shreds.
