How To Get Away With Murder: Kill Me, Kill Me, Kill Me (Recap)

HTGAWM You lied

This is not going to be a very good recap. I’ve watched the episode twice now. The first time there was so much sunlight in the room I could barely make out the night scenes. I’ve now watched it again and I am still confused. I eventually read another recap to get a sense of what happened. Here is the gist of it.

Annalise and Sam get in a terrible fight over pregnant tank girl. Sam knew she was pregnant. Annalise has threatened him that everyone who came in contact with her including her professors will be asked to submit DNA. Annalise goes in on him and calls him a liar and a cheat and basically anything she could throw at him. Sam begs for forgiveness at first.

Then, apparently because Annalise likes to fight dirty and wanted to hurt Sam she tell him she has been screwing Nate. She tells him intimate details. Describing the immense pleasure he brings her. This causes Sam to lose his ever-loving mind. He becomes violent. Throws the phone. He tries to strangle her as she taunts him to kill her. Then he leaves.

Everything has led up to pretty much all of the Keating Five and Rebecca converging on the house/law office. Michaela for some reason wants to return the statute of blind justice to the office after deciding stealing it from Asher was a dumb idea. Rebecca is there to carry out Nate’s mission to retrieve incriminating files from Sam’s laptop.  Wes, Laurel  and Connor are going to make sure nothing happens to Rebecca.

Michaela arrives first followed by Rebecca. Sam tries to throw Rebecca out but she races upstairs and locks herself in the bedroom where she retrieves the files. Michaela calls Wes and tells him to hurry. She goes upstairs as well. Finally, the other three arrive and Wes gets Rebecca to come out of the bedroom. Eventually, there is a melee at the top of the stairs. Sam has grabbed Laurel (why?) and Michaela jumps in to help her. In the midst of the fracas we are to believe that tiny Michaela threw a grown man over the balcony. He’s dead. It was Michaela who killed Sam. Now we know. HTGAWM Anna Sam

The end.  Oh wait, no it isn’t. The bad guy never dies on the first try.

The Keating Four and Rebecca are all in major meltdown mode. What the fuck should they do now? As they are trying to come up with a plan, dead Sam rises up and attacks Rebecca, getting on top of her and strangling her. Wes clocks Sam in the back of the head spraying Sam’s blood all over Rebecca. Wes killed Sam. The end.

Oh wait, no it isn’t.

While all this is going on, Annalise goes to see Nate. They end up fucking. After that, Annalise calls Sam and leaves a long message about wanting to make up with him and save their marriage. (alibi phone call?)

Here is the part I still don’t understand. There was a scene with Bonnie at a hotel making out with some stranger. What was she doing in a hotel? Is she an escort on the side? Afterward she calls doucheface Asher for a hookup. Um, why? That is completely out of no where. Is she trying to set up an alibi as well? I don’t understand anything about this scene. Help?

Connor’s scene with Oliver plays all the way  out. After a shower and a night to get himself together, he gives Olivier a cover story. He tells him he was high on a mix of drugs. He claims to have a drug problem. I don’t get how that story helps him in any way.

Other things I am lost about. Am I right that apparently Wes went back to get the trophy (murder weapon), apologized to Sam’s dead body and Annalise was just sitting there at the desk and said, “Don’t be.” ? WTF.  I’m confused. Even reading a couple of recaps, it’s not clear to me. So Annalise knows that Wes killed (his father) Sam? Does Wes know that Sam is his father? IS Sam Wes’s father? Did Annalise plan the whole thing from the beginning?  If so, why did she want him dead? For cheating? She was cheating too. What would be her motivation for such an elaborate set up? Sam was rather quick to get violent with Annalise. He told her the only reason he ever got with her was because she was easy. He called her a slut. But Annalise was just as vulgar with him.

The title of this episode is Kill Me, Kill Me, Kill Me.  I know that Annalise said that to Sam when he was choking her. But did she say it three times? Because so far, we have only killed Sam, twice. I’m just saying.

Can someone explain all of this to me?

I think we are expecting it because of the writers. Whether or not it’s a red herring they are throwing at us remains to be seen.

And, what of the “promise ring” theme that we started out with? Was that just for flavor or will that somehow play into the storyline?
Can I just ask, does anyone like Katherine Hiegle (sp) and State of Affairs? Just curious.

So you are sure it was Wes? Because there were three kill mes in the title. First it looked like Michaela did it, then Wes, then at the end we discover that somehow Annalise was alone with the body. Was he really dead when Wed killed him?

Annalise sure went to a lot of trouble to have an alibi. She even told Nate specifically she was going to a hotel, and not back home. In fact Bonnie too went to a lot of trouble to have an alibi. Do we really know for sure who killed Sam yet?

That’s what I’m thinking! He wasn’t dead! Knocked out Maybe not dead!

When Wes came back into the room Sam was in a pool of blood (bleeding from the head) and there was the statue next tot the body. Annalise could killed him ,and allow those “adults” take the blame.

Wes irks my nerves though because he all head over for Rebecca that he to blind to see that she is playing him.

Michaela stole the trophy to return to Annalise so that she could get out of taking the final. Whoever had the trophy passes the class so they all think that means it doesn’t matter how they do on the final if they are the ones with the trophy. Michaela figured out the evidence from the last case to get Annalise’s client set free. So she thinks she won the trophy from Asher and stole it from him because during all of the crap Annalise was dealing with she didn’t give the trophy to Michaela!

Sam was going after Laurel because she had the usb that had fallen out of Rebecca’s hand!

The Bonnie scene was weird! Guess when she got fired she decided to get drunk and sleep with ransoms and Asher.

I assume that after sleeping with Nate, Annalise decided it was time to go home and find Sam. She finds Sam dead and is In shock sitting in the office. Then we’d showed up.
And she did say Kill me 3 times. It may have even been four.

Oops I meant Annalise went to bang Nate as PART of her alibi.
Then after she banged him nice (dang that man is FINE) she went back home didn’t she? To call her husband, in “regret” leaving him this LONG message that was SO UNlike her. I listened to her thinking WTF IS SHE TALKIN ABOUT?!? That’s when I knew…this biatch is leaving this message to cover her tracks. But she knew what she was doing. Looking au natures legend the cops arrived was part of it as well. Calling Bonnie was part of it. EVERYTHING. WAS. PART. OF. IT. Lolol

Now can you tell me why it was important that Michaela pick that golden moment in time to sign the pre-nup?

Michaela was wearing gloves when she signed the pre nup, her ring must still be missing. Also, she signed it under duress, without her own lawyer advising her so it can be contested in a divorce.
Her mother in law, owning a multi national business, should have know this. The last thing that she would want is her future politician son to be involved in a nasty and dirty legal fight should the couple get divorced.
Maybe Michaela wanted to make sure that through marriage with a powerful family she would have their financial resources should she need expensive legal advice due to her involvement in Sam’s murder, and knowing that the pre nup can be contested, was the reason she signed it.

I don’t think she will be able to play the duress card. Because, “Your honor, I was under duress when I signed the document because I was involved in a murder, and disposal of a body and a cover-up scheme at the time.” is really going to go in her favor.

I think that Michaela signed the prenup for a few reasons, firstly she is a control freak and with the recent events out of her control, the wedding was something she could regain control over by signing the prenup and gain her sanity back. Also now that the wedding is back on she has the full weight of her future husbands family’s wealth and influence to protect her if they do ever get caught.

The only real issue is her missing ring. I’m surprised that Wes didn’t tell Annalise about it as im sure she would definitely pay to have a replica created. Maybe that will be a future storyline.

I’m thinking Michaela signed the prenup because it represented a FUTURE, ANY future. That’s the very first thing she said when she FREAKED out over Sam’s death & wanting to involve the police, “I’M THINKING ABOUT MY FUTUREEEE!!!

When she walked into her apartment, the first thing she saw was the Vera Wang, figured, let me sign this Bc ANY future is better than NONE & I’m a freak with zero control or logical thinking right now.

They each freaked out a little after but HER freak out was the worst, she signed away all her rights Bc I am positive that prenup is iron clad and…umm…he’s GAY.

Surprisingly? Laurel had the most logical, thought out “freak out”, that girl didn’t even freak out did she? lol I was hoping she’d get to slap Michaela who’s by FAR the most annoying of that crew.

Nothing is as it seems. I guarantee, this is a bunch of rabbit trails that will shock us in the next episode (in 2015?). That’s the reason I love it. The time sequences are all out of proportion, just as they have been all along. I can’t figure out everything, but Annalise didn’t make that phone call at a precise time after seeing Nate. She wasn’t in shock in the office, there’s more going on….remember from the beginning we were shifting from flash backs to further flashbacks that were before the initial flashbacks. Think deeper…

Conner had the dreadful task of chopping up SAMs body that’s why he flips out mentally and lies about being a druggie. But WOAH the last scene when Wes says I’m sorry to SAMs body and we hear ” don’t be ” spoken by Annaliese sitting @ the desk FREAKED me out! I was terrified at seeing her face right there in the room.
TT I’m convinced now that Wes could well be her & SAMs son. Though his life story of being born in Haiti has to be explained and elaborated on by shonda in the new year when it comes back. I hope it does return too.

Well, we thought he died when he went over the stairs and he didn’t, so who’s to say he really “died” after Wes hit him in the head with the statue? Maybe Annalise finished him off while she was alone with him before Wes came back and that’s why she told Wes not to be sorry. I can’t decide if this is good writing or just cheap tricks. Either way, I like it.

I suspect that at the very least Sam showed signs of life, gurgling or something and Annalise just let him bleed out slowly instead of calling an ambulance.

Sam was dead. DEAD. His entire head bled out before those kids were gone lol. Annalise said “DONT BE” for other reasons, not because he wasn’t dead.
Maybe she was THERE when that shit went down? Watched it & didn’t stop it? Maybe she wanted him dead Bc frikin Nate is so damn fine?

I have a few lingering questions nothing major, BUT my most important curiously strange question is:
WHY DID ANNALISE ASK BONNIE “Are you with him?!?? ARE U WITH SAM?!?!?” when she called her that morning??? Are u with him?!?!

What. The. Fuk. Was. That. About.

Well if Sam was still alive after the second attempt then my original guess that Annaliese killed Sam stays. She had the motive after that big fight they had plus he tried to strangle her.

Oh this show has jumped shark. I’m now tired of seeing Wes and Rebecca. They are sub par actors. They annoy me. Sam had a right to shoot all of them for barging into his house after hours. WTF is this nonsense. TT until you say otherwise, I will just read your recaps. I’m taking this off my DVR.

in earlier episodes I thought Bonnie might have been into Sam but that scene (in episode before this one) where Annalise cast her out and Bonnie was on the floor and cried, it seemed to me that Bonnie actually is in love with Annalise. Then she randomly and drunkenly sleeps with 2 people in supposed despair––I think she has a big thing for her boss.

And Annalise sitting there and catching Wes didn’t really surprise me. Her thing with Nate might be legit in some way (or I want to believe that because he is delish!). But the second she saw Sam’s body, she had to leave that message for him, professing to want to “try on their marriage”. Now we know she talked to Wes but I think she would have left that message anyway––she’d already asked the cops to get DNA samples and if Sam turns out to be the father of that unborn child, Annalise would be suspect number one. She had to leave that voicemail to give herself credibility for having a solid marriage. Now she can just say he must have run away in shame.

I keep thinking if we go back and watch the rules that Annalise taught in each episode to her class (discredit the witness, give an alternate suspect, etc) and then matched that up to her behavior in each episode, it might help solve this… a little bit. I don’t have the patience for that now but maybe over Thanksgiving, with a bottle of Pinot Noir and a massive bowl of stuffing, I’ll rewatch some of it.

I now have a feeling that Bonnie played a part in killing tank girl. There was something about her conversation with the stranger in the bar about secrets… Perhaps she was in cahoots with Sam or Annalise. There also has to be further elaboration on the fact that Annalise was allegedly “broken” when she met Sam… Why was she broken? Had she given a son up for adoption? Was she a criminal? Was she a prostitute??

Wes and Annalise are definitely working together, but for how long? The hot sex wt Nate and the telephone call were to set up her alibi. She really is a despicable woman. Note: The chain that hangs down from the statue’s hand with the scale on it is missing by the time Laural returns it to Frank. Bonnie is confusing. I have a feeling Annalise killed both water tank girl and has something to do with killing Sam (with Wes’ help?) just haven’t worked it out yet. It would help explain his explainable (and unbelievable) infatuation with Rebecca? I get the idea he has been working with Annalise for some time. He was sure ticked off they couldn’t find an incinerator which is what I think Annalise told him to do. But, come one, where/how were they gonna do that? The911 call that Rebecca made is gonna come back to haunt em.

I love this show! During the whole episode I kept looking for the ring on Michaela’s finger. It was definitely on her hand when they were in Annalise’s office trying to figure out what to do after killing Sam the 2nd time. I lost sight of it after that.

I too wonder what will be the story line during season two (not in Jan 2015) but the real season two. Can’t figure out if they can keep up the intensity.

They burnt the body to destroy evidence. Wes wanted to find an incinerator that could heat up enough to turn the burnt body into dust but he was out voted as the others just wanted to ditch the body after they burnt away the dna. So Connor chopped up the body so they could put into into rubbish bags making it easier to transport and wouldn’t be noticed by the rubbish collectors.

Michael, to me, that ENTIRE PLAN with what to do with SAMs body was ALL ANNALISE’s work.

SHE told Wes what to do with it. SHE told him to incinerate it completely that’s why he was NOT HAPPY dumping it in that trash bin. Annalise was the mastermind not those kids. I also think that eng ring will come back to haunt them, I also hope that Michaela will be the next to die, she annoyed the sht out of me. GET A GRIP.

It wouldn’t surprise me. We all know that the missing scene of Annalise with Wes in the study with Sam’s dead body will be shown at a later date and be important. Probably when Wes realises Annalise used him/manipulated him into killing Sam and his own father! Also the missing scene of Annalise coming home to find Sam’s dead body is very important. Now we will probably have flash backs instead of flashforwards next season to fully explain the two murders better.

Bonnie may have been drunk and depressed about her job and sexed the random dude at the bar, but her screwing Asher is not random at all and will be a part of the coverup!

It wasn’t NATE?! Now, I see why it could not have been him. It is crazy that Sam fell three or four stories off the stairwell, but he was just unconscious and did not suffer any injuries. He then wakes up and has the full presence of mind like Jason from Friday the 13th and strength of the Hulk to choke Rebecca. Sam is unlike any mere mortal I know. Understandably, everyone was traumatized after the murder, and tried to cover their shock/involvement by acting “normal”. Bonnie and Asher was creepily funny, and of course, they are each others alibi. Who killed Lila????? I have become totally turned off by the writer’s attempt to humanize Annalise and expose her frailties. She and Sam were very amoral and deserved each other. I am sure we will see a lot more flashbacks of Sam with Lila, Bonnie, and Annalise. Maybe Wes’ late mother was Sam’s ex-wife and Sam is Wes’ father, but he’s not barren Annalise’s son. Otherwise, why should we care about love struck Wes?????????

I have to wonder why Annalise took on Rebecca as a client. She is an awful client. She sabotages her own defense. She’s very devisive, among Annalise and her husband and among her law firm. Why would she take such a “stinker”? Her MO is to take cases she can easily win. And it’s not like she’s gleaning info from Rebecca about her husband. Why is she keeping her so close? For Wes?
Also, when we see Wes do the coin flip: “heads, we go back, tails, we leave him…” The audience sees the coin land on “tails.” But they go back. Why? And we see the ep. end with Annalise telling Wes not to be sorry. More to the story? Probably so.

I must start with Nate’s body. ..ooh LA LA we need to see more of that!!! I didn’t get the random bonnie hookup either and then going to asher’s. When Wes went back to get lady liberty the scales were missing when he picked her up and when frank put her back in play. When Wes told cold dead Sam he was sorry Annalease walked him through what to do. That’s why wes took charge, she went to Nate’s, and she kept calling Sam and finally left that grand apology. I don’t normally like laurel but liked her this episode. Michaela gets on my nerves but she wanted to secure her future in case y they get caught so she signed the prenuptial but it looked like she didn’t sign it in the right place. I honestly thought Connor was going to spill the beans to Oliver. I think frank and bonnie are filled in on Sam’s murder. Who really killed tank girl? That end scene totally freaked me out when she was sitting at the desk it made sense why Wes was so confident all would be well. They showed the garbage truck to much so something will happen. ..a hand, toe, ankle bone? Next season I hope the lighting is improved. . This episode was way too dark I had to strain to see which was not enjoyable.
