Nene was on Dr. Oz today talking about toxic relationships? She starts by giving an update on her blot clot situation. She says she is on daily medication for it, and she currently is clotfree, but she is still concerned about them coming back. Doctor Oz brings up the fact that Nene did not go on the Phillipines trip, allegedly due to concerns about clotting. It was a 15 hour trip for the first leg to Seoul, but that is a giant airplane with a duty free shop and a bar and plenty of opportunities to walk around. Dr. Oz says “That was very wise. It would have been an unsafe thing to do.” Which is mostly bullshit, she is on medication, she knows she has risk factors, there are compression socks you can wear, and measures you can take on long flights that reduce the likelihood of developing a clot tremendously. You don’t have to stop taking long trips once the clots are gone. That said, it is a scary thing and I can totally see her not wanting to take the 15 hour flight. And the clots are a great excuse to get out of it even if you just didn’t want to go. Dr. Oz asks if she is sad she missed the trip and she says no, and laughs.
Dr. Oz asks Nene’s advice on toxic relationships. Which is hysterical because she is the common denominator in all of her toxic relationships because she is a toxic person. Nene says if you are talking about a toxic relationship with your partner, “you should seek ‘cancelling’, take baby steps and you would probably make a ‘planned’? “plant’? before you just” ‘excape’ if you could, yeah. Nene continues, “As far as friendships are concerned, sometimes you just come to the end of the road where you have to say goodbye. I think that’s okay. It’s okay if your friendship ends. If it has to end it just has to end. If it’s toxic. If it’s not meaning you any good.” Okay then. Life lessons from Nene. Have a plant.
Sidenote: Nene is wearing a really tight gray suit and a black deep scoop neck tee-shirt. She’s wearing a new blond wig. It looks like a long wig pinned up in the back. It’s a better wig look than most things
Next they talk about her stint on Broadway. Nene says she is in rehearsal every single day. She says it’s really hard because she is singing, acting and dancing all at the same time. (Sidenote: Sherri said she (Sherri) does not have a solo, but she sings in the chorus quietly.) Nene says it’s a lot for her. She is scared. She hopes she is able to do it justice. Nene says she needs Dr. Oz’s help to keep herself and her voice healthy in NYC where it is cold all the time. Nene it’s just as freakishly cold down her today, girl. But I get her concerns about getting sick in the NYC winter.
Dr. Oz saws for her to get a humidifier to keep her sinuses lubricated. Next, he takes Nene to a piano to have a vocal coach teach her some warm up exercises. He suggest she warm up for ten minutes before each show. Unfortunately, Dr. OZ caterwauled during the whole thing and you could not hear Nene at all if she was even singing.
And that was the segment. I must say that this is the first interview I have not heard Nene talk about her income or trash anyone! She was actually humble when talking about her role! I’d give Nene a B- for this interview. I have to take off for the too small clothes. She also needs to work on her English language skills. But other than that, it was a vast improvement.
