American Horror Story: Freak Show Teaser Precap Episode 4, Killers & Kinky Leather

October 29, 2014 by tamaratattles 36 Comments

AHS Edward 2By: Urethra Franklin

Warning:  Spoiler-ish so spank me.

Last week Elsa Mars’ song summoned me to download “Gods and Monsters” as well as Mr. Hot Goth Mordrake & his 2nd evil face to the Freak Show. Luckily for Ethel she was “not the one”, and her life & soul was spared by Mordrake from being part of his ghostly entourage. In the promo teaser for tonight’s episode 4, Mordrake pays a visit to Elsa’s tent as she has been expecting him. Does she think he’s the dark haired stranger from Mystic Esmeralda’s fake reading that is going to make her a star? Or does she know that he is the two-faced legend that her troupe of freaks fear? Is Elsa is the freak that Evil Face choses to kill?

We are going to learn about Elsa’s past in Germany. I don’t think it’s going to be war related but do beware of The Watchers. If you know German history you should know what that means; if not then watch tonight.  Not only is Elsa’s past grisly, it is also SUPER KINKY as in bitch get down on all fours and lick my boots you bad little Schnauzer. YASSS kinky as in dog collars, leather, lace, masks & whips worthy of a Steven Meisel & Madonna photo shoot. You all are gonna be shocked & thrilled at how committed Jessica Lange is to her role.  Sorry no prudes allowed. #WoofMistressElsaAHS Twisty no jaw

Tonight we learn that Twisty has a softer human side to his horrifying serial killing ways. Ryan Murphy has told Entertainment Weekly that tonight’s episode will feature the “complete origin story of Twisty: where he started from, how he became who he is, why is he doing what he’s doing.” According to the co-creator, everything is explained in this episode. He teases by saying the terrifying clown has an “entire 15 minute act by himself where we take you back 40 years in the life of that character.” We are going to see what Twisty looks like before he became a jawless psycho-killer freak.

Now this is only my theory based on many little tidbits of information that I’ve learned while doing research and I could be wrong, but I think that there is going to be a Twisty/Mordrake connection.  Could Twisty be the freak with the corrupt soul & befouled flesh that is a requirement for Evil Face? Is this the end of Twisty? #ByeFelicia

If so that could explain why Dandy is screaming in the woods, “You’ve ruined my Halloween.” Or is Dandy upset because Twisty is not as interested in being killing buddies with the man-boy apprentice in waiting? Also Maggie & Jimmy have a scary encounter with Twisty, and remember all the carnival freaks are in jeopardy with Mordrake around. Expect the body count to rise tonight, and nobody better hurt Pepper or Ma Pettite or I will freak out.

Watch tonight’s Halloween episode of American Horror Story: Freak Show  titled “Edward Mordrake Pt 2” on the F/X channel at 10ET. The episode is 65 minutes so set your dvr accordingly.  Check back here later for my recap, but first let us join hands and pray that Patti LaBelle’s sassy Dora gets a #NewAttitude and survives another day in the Mott mansion. Stalk me like Mordrake’s Evil Face @Urethra_F

I’m new-ish here, and don’t know how to reply to the teaser recap directly, but… I LOVE Pepper. She is adorable.
I just saw the last disc of Asylum last night, and talk about committing to a role.
On Asylum, I especially loved watching her, Jessica and Evan doing ‘The Name Game.’ How cute can you get?
And Ma Petite in her pumpkin…. That is so charming.
I think I’m obsessed with AHS (though have yet to see Season 1.)

Thanks so much for your work here. 🙂

Cythere, welcome to the Freaktard family here.
Season 1 is my favorite season thus far. It is a classic haunted house story with a different & shocking twist. I highly recommend it. Check back here tomorrow for my recap of tonight’s episode. I can’t wait to rewatch this episode again.

Steve there’s only 2 things that usually freak me out: Clowns & Devil possession. Sister Mary scared the BEJEEZUS out of me as a Devil possessed nun. Though her future appearance on Freak Show predates the Asylum years when she was pure & clean of evil, I am still scurrred as shit of that Nun.

O M G!!!! I LOVE SISTER MARY ANUS!! SO STOKED!!

This whole time I didn’t know if Pepper was actually THE Pepper or everyone was just calling her that – I hoped it was going to be a tie-in but I never actually thought it would happen!

I wonder if she was the inspiration for Freak Show?

Asylum is in 1964, Freak Show is set in 1952, over 12 years apart. Would it be Rabe as a younger person taking Pepper?

YAY its Hannah. I haven’t started watching yet. I usually start watching 20 minutes in to avoid commercials. I’m closing my laptop now, and I will be back after the show…. However the events happen, Dandy will likely end up being more evil than Twisty.

I found Twistys tale so sad I do believe demons would weep for him. Although I never found clowns scary, I did find Twisty to be a very disturbing character.he made AHS uncomfortable to watch. But that did not turn me off to the show for some reason I enjoy it even more #Imafreaktard.

    Can’t wait for UF’s recap.

You’re brilliant and you work so hard to keep your precaps and recaps awesome. Only wish I had more followers so when I RT about AHS, it would reach more people to watch and read your stuff. Not sucking up, I really do enjoy reading what you write and how you write it. Keep it coming.

Have a bag of 12 cheese Krystals with extra pickles and fries . Bravo! Excellent work! You may be let out in the sun again after that terrible rebellion where you failed to recap Big Brother 16…

      Perhaps.

Just watched the first episode. About to watch the second. It’s so much grittier and period than I expected. Are the background ‘freaks’ real actors with disorders/deformities or is it just special effects like with the main characters (specifically the tattooed guy with short arms and the little woman)?

Yes Micheal most of the “freaks” are real people, real actors with real medical oddities.

The only one that I know for sure that has no medical afflictions is Pepper. She goes through a remarkable make up process. You would never recognize her out of character. She is absolutely lovely with the most beautiful eyes.

Omg I just looked up the actress playing Pepper and the difference is amazing. It’s crazy what makeup and prosthetics can do. So far I really like Dandy, Bette and Dot. Very enjoyable so far. Had no idea Emma Roberts was in the show. I still have bad memories of her in Scream 4.

UF, you sure did have the scoop on this episode. I sort of doubted so much would be revealed this soon, but it was, and more. I did not like the very end. I wanted Dora to become a more important and exciting character, one deserving Ms Patti LaBelle! I hope she can be put back together somehow.

I am looking forward to your recap and do love the precaps. They tickle my thoughts in anticipation.

I knew from the 2nd show Twisty had a soft side. Its sad he was dropped on his head as a baby, loved performing as a clown for children, G rated. And then accused of child molestation. Not sure why he was taken tonight, what about Dell, the strong man he seems pretty evil to me? Twistys story was sad (they all were) but he was the one taken. Is it because he became a murderer? I was hoping they would take Dandy!

Jessica Lange’s performance was so real and in depth, talk about getting into character! As I have said before, with her I feel like I am watching a movie at AMC,. She is brilliant. Whomever made the comment re Meryl Streep being able to work the German Accent, probably true, but she could never, ever go so deep as Ms. Lange. In the last five years Meryls role have been lighthearted and fun. Love to see Jesica do something easy and fun like most of Streeps roles. It might not be worth her time as an actress

Jessica Lange is the Queen of AHS, and thus far it is her decision to take a break from AHS; and if Ryan Murphy can’t convince her to continue, there is no way that a petition from us or anyone else would affect her choice… But Murphy has said a few times that he is going to continue to entice her to return. So you never know.

I also wonder about why Twisty was taken.

What is Ryan Murphys definition of a freak? To me a freak is a person born with some medical abnormality or condition that occurs during gestation. I’m not a doctor BUT I wouldn’t call an amputee or someone with a learning disability a freak. Again just my opinion but to me neither Elsa or Twisty are freak show qualified.

I guess either I missed something or this is a Ryan Murphy plothole.

There are different kinds of freaks. Outside freaks with medical oddities such as the carnies, and inside freaks like Dandy. The commonality is both feel different & ostracized for whatever personal reasons.

Twisty felt different like a freak because he was simpleton, and not “normal” like the others. Twisty was killed & soul taken because his story made the Demon Face weep. He wanted the saddest soul he could find. Twisty was it.

Being a redhead I was harassed & beat up for 18 years, and I felt like a freak. But don’t feel sorry for me, because as an adult I can’t count how many times I got laid because of my hair color. There are a lot of red head fetishists out there. Blondes have more fun, but red heads are remembered.

UF, it also seemed to me as though the Demon Face considered the fact that Twisty had no remorse for his actions. He kept saying he was a good person even after all the murders. Elsa was about to be the victim. She also showed no remorse and was actually begging to be taken until Mondrake’s heard the music. I think the murders caused Twisty to win the “prize” so to speak because his acts were more heinous. All the other freaks felt sorry for what they had done. Maybe I’m wrong. Just something I noticed. What do you think?

In the 1950’s and before, there were fewer opportunities for people that were different, and less acceptance, no matter in what kind of way they were different. That was one of the problems with asylums, folks got thrown in there for some of the wrong reasons.

Side shows/freak shows were notorious for charging fees to see people with faked deformities or those caused by something other than a birth defect and claiming it was natural.

Thank goodness, we have evolved, somewhat. UF, my Mom was a proud, beautiful, redhead. I, unfortunately, got Dad’s brunette hair.
