UPDATEE 10/24/14 I just zipped through Dr. Drew and he confirms that he did not put up his tweet until AFTER court was adjourned for the day. Which confirms to me that he booked the old Juror 17 after the new Juror 17 situation arose. He did that because everyone wants to know the deal with the new Juror 17 so he booked the old one to play off that interest. So the new #17 was called into chambers for some other reason.
UPDATED AGAIN: In an odd turn of events, Dr. Drew is interviewing Juror 17 FROM THE ORIGINAL TRIAL, not Juror 17 that is at the center of today’s debacle. Very sneaky there, Dr. Drew. Very sneaky. So We are back to the belief that Juror 17 from the current trial has not (yet) been dismissed. Dr. Drew is evil.
UPDATED: It appears Juror 17 WAS kicked off. Will be on Dr. Drew on HLN tonight at 9 During SCANDAL! UGH.
We come back from lunch and Judge Sherry Stephens dismisses the jury for the day. She asks Juror 17 to stay behind. WTF is wrong with these jurors? Can they not stay out of trouble at lunchtime? Do they need to be sequestered? WHAT NOW? Judge Stephens says they are unable to proceed today to an event outside of their control.
The lawyers, Arias and Travis’ sister are all called into chambers. Juror 17 was waiting in jury room. Speculation is she is in chambers as well. They were only in chambers for a few minutes. Maybe five. Nurmi and Willmott seem “happy” according to one account. Detective Flores told several reporters that Juror 17 was NOT dismissed. But how would he know? He was not present for whatever happened in chambers.
It will remain a mystery until Monday I suppose because there is no court on Fridays. Because, Arizona.
FOR ALL JODI ARIAS UPDATES CLICK HERE.
This is just a clusterfuck of a retrial and it’s only day three.
Okay so is this the juror dismissed over the Nancy Grace situation or is this yet another dismissed juror in addition to that one?
This is the third one dismissed in three days of trial.
Okay okayyy damn, I fell behind! Had to go back and read the court recap before this one so I could catch up… Sheesh, I’m gonna try harder to keep up with the group! (-_-)
How many backup jurors do they have? Can the number of supplement jurors sustain the idiocy of the current jury?
Wtf is wrong with these jurors. How hard is it to NOT break the rules?
This is truly terrifying. It’s actually making me feel ill. I love your constant “Because… Arizona”.
I live in Arizona…..but it’s true
It wouldnt surprise me if some of these jurors wanted in on this infamous case to get their own 15 mins and now cant control themselves when approached.
Why not just pass a law making it illegal to financially benefit from being a juror? So no more books, or television appearances for jurors. They can still tell ‘their story’ but they cannot profit from it. Similar to how in Australia criminals cannot profit from the sale of their stories.
Because we live in AMERICA, asshole, where we are capitalist and make money for whatever we want! Don’t Tread On US! And Learn to speak American.

Now you get it. You should see the $$ I am raking in on Ebola stocks! actually it’s more like cents not $$$ but it’s still money!

I overheard an Ebola conversation recently where one party stated “I don’t understand why they are freaking out about ebola in America, I mean more people have been married to Kim Kardashian than are infected with ebola in America”. Couldn’t help but laugh at that.
I just need them to announce that the pretty nurse was cured my the drug I bought stock in. Is that asking for too much?
And America is freaking out because CNN spends all day every day talking about anyone they can find who has a high fever. Today it is a dentist in NYC. I know more about him than his significant other at this point. It’s constant bombardment. It only stops if there is a particularly bad tornado, earthquake or hurricane.

so why act as if americans are particularly blameworthy? burns me up. we have crap media around the globe. let’s just blame THEM for everything. people are people, wherever.
Dr. Drew can blow me! What an A-hole! He is having juror #17 from the ORIGINAL trial on? What an effin KNOB! My distaste for this man has mushroomed into full blown hatred.
I can’t stand him. At least FINALLY Nancy Grace is showing some never before seen video from Jodi interrogations. I am so sick of seeing the old stuff we’ve all already seen 100 times. They are showing us longer versions and I believe some aspects they never showed at all before are coming up. At least that’s how Nancy is making it sound. Either way, she’s showing new footage.
Now there is a conspiracy rumor (that I don’t believe) that word got to the court that juror 17 was going on Dr. Drew and that is why this juror 17 was held and spoken to in chambers.
However Drew didn’t announce his 17 appearance until AFTER whatever went down in court happened. If this was the case, wouldn’t the judge check in with the real 17 BEFORE sending home all of the jurors?
CLUSTERFUCK.

He is actually a VERY nice and caring person. 🙁
Dr Drew that is. Sorry I have to stick up for him!
He is not worth words wrote on paper! What a tool! He should have kept his first job!
Nurmi probably got word from his media spies that juror 17 was going on Dr. Drew and he tasted mistrial. Or not. But I’d like to imagine Wilmot and Nurmi pitching a hissy fit about a fair trial, only to realize it’s the wrong juror 17. And the judge yelling at them for it. And Martinez silently smirking. That would be sweet.
Except that didn’t happen. Nurmi and Wilmott were smiling when they came out of chambers and Juan was not.

ng. I’m slow….
Dang. Just read Tamara’s comment. Well, it was a nice thought while it lasted!
The last juror had connections to Jodi, I wonder if this one has connections to Travis? I wonder if each side had a “ringer” so they could influence the outcome, if so…are there others?
I think you are starting to sound like Edgrrrrrrr where the hell is he anyway?

whats wrong with these jurors? they dont want to sit through two months of this. we get to talk about the days events and they cant, that has to suck. this is why i call it the jodi show though, always another suprise. JM cant bring up her self defense strategy from last years episode? a new version from her, does it mean she lied to the last jury,or this one?
So much what every1 said. This evil twat is getting more attention, and I wish she’d just go away. And the ego larger than the anus comment almost made me choke from laughing so hard.
I know, me too…
Hey, at this point I’m more interested in the drug company and getting a stock tip from Tamara. Nancy Grace should win an award for Most Fake Dramatic Performance by a Leading Anchor.
I’m in on CMRX for Ebola stock.
I should point out that I am using my ad money from TT that I set aside for THE TAX MAN so… I may need a bigger donate button if this doesn’t work out, But hey, I figured why just let it sit there. And seriously, it is not a lot of money. Maybe I will make some money???

Maybe WE will make some money. 🙂 Can’t hurt because I read all the time about little companies that explode and people who literally paid pennies a share. Please God let this happen.
I follow a girl on twitter that does this all day. I blame her for getting me in on the ebola thing. I’m finally back to breaking even or a bit better and should get out. It’s very addictive. It’s like playing the poker tables in Vegas. You KNOW you should get up, but what if that next hand is THE BIG ONE. lol. I have retirement accounts from my old jobs. They have finally recovered from 2008. I try not to look. Hopefully there will be something in there when the time comes. This online thing I’m playing with money I will owe the tax man in April. Which means I really shouldn’t be fiddling with it at all. My life is just a series of bad decisions.

Arias is a narcissistic psychopath. She admitted guilt. Instead of buying into Arias’ claim of justifiable homicide, that she killed Travis in self defense, the first jury found she acted with premeditation and convicted her of 1st degree murder. According to Arizona law, 1st degree murder guarantees the guilty will either serve life in prison without parole or be sentenced to the death penalty. The only question now is whether or not the aggravating circumstances outweigh the mitigating circumstances. You all probably know this but it helps me to put this current process into perspective.
I wish this segment of sentencing was televised, if only for the chance to see Nurmi’s changed appearance live. But these juror issues are par for the course in high profile cases like this. Thank goodness the judge is making sure the process remains fair because the decision to put someone to death should be done with as much integrity as possible. Anyone unwilling to make that judgement based solely on the law should be dismissed.
Tensions are running high between these 2 sides, prosecution and defense…Arias’ pathetic life hangs in the balance. I want this part of the trial to be clean. I love it when murderers are convicted and sentenced “by the book”. I want the verdict to be unsullied by doubt. So, whatever happens in the meantime, I hope the judge and lawyers advocate vigorously and the jurors are completely comfortable with their decision.
Actually, I could care less whether Arias lives or dies. Not even sure I believe in capital punishment. But, based on the criteria defined by Arizona law, I believe she qualifies for the death penalty and, if I was a juror, I would vote to have her put to death. What do you all think?
Hey TT, where’s the post where Jenny McCarthy is talking about Donny Wahlberg’s “beautiful dick” on WWHL? Hmmmm?
Speaking of. We dont get WWHL in Australia but we did get the special WWHL of Andy interviewing Tre and Joe the two parter. I wish we got more episodes. I feel so out of the loop sometimes down here in my kangaroos pouch.
Damn Michael….stuck in a kangaroos pouch. I wish I could drum up some sympathy for you. Want to trade places? (I’m in Seattle now but in Costa Rica other parts of the year.)
My city regularly wins or gets into the top 10 for best cities in the world (also most expensive too sometimes) so I’m ok in my kangaroos pouch avoiding the toxic wombat with my pet echidna. 🙂
You aren’t missing anything. Use the time to save babies from dingoes or something.

It was on WWHL. Can’t remember if it was after show or not.
It really was a fine tribute. I don’t recap WWHL unless a HW is on. No one reads the regular celebrity people ones.

Unvbelievable. 3 jurors in 3 days. Makes me wonder though: If this was declared a mistrial what would happen? It’s not the guilt/innocence phase so her guilty verdict would not be effected, but would it then go to a directed verdict situation? Would Judge Stephens decide? There must be a provision for this sort of thing? Any Arizona legal eagles out there?
We are not back to the belief that the 3rd juror was NOT dismissed. Maybe. Who knows.

Tamara. I insist your recaps are 10 times better than the live updates coming on Twitter. I LOVE YOU
I don’t know the reason for the problem with the current juror but I do know that there is a very wrong impression given by the panelists on the Dr. Drew show. First, they keep harping on the fact that Jodi is a “Borderline Personality” and some even imply that she can be “fixed”. If she were a mere “Borderline” perhaps she could be treated but they are over-looking a very real fact…Jodi is also a sociopath who kills. She diplays no empathy for her victim, and no remorse. Sociopaths who are also psychopaths who kill CANNOT be cured, fixed or otherwise treated for this condition. They do not change and they will kill again. Jodi Arias is evil and she is dangerous. She has all of the traits possessed by sociopathic personalities and even though she may also have other disorders, this particular one is deadly. I doubt that they will find a unanimous jury who will sentence her to death (although I hope that they will), If Jodi sits on death row as opposed to being in the General Population she will not have the privileges that other prisoners have and although she will probably die of old age even with the DP, she will not be as free as she is right now to make money or use social media. She will be far more uncomfortable on death row and that’s what she deserves, in my opinion. She tortured Travis Alexander and killed him three times over without any remorse or thoughts of his family. To spare Jodi’s life so as not to hurt her family is ludicrous. It’s Travis’s family that has to live forever with the images of their brother slaughtered by this monster.
Juror 17 was from the first trial not the current one. Huge confusion and the current juror was not excused.
I remember now why I hate Arizona. Their court system is stupid. ” let’s start late and have no court on Fridays”
Uuuuggghhh why drag it out any longer??
Dear potential jurors in Arizona v Arias penalty trial – Could all of you keep your shit together long enough to render a verdict? I’m sick of hearing about her and seeing her. I can’t imagine what it is like for the Alexander family! Oh and by the way, could ya’ll make sure that she, at the very least, has to spend 23 hrs a day confined to her tiny cell?
Just read the comments on this post,
what a great conversation you have on here.
TT, hope the penny stocks paid off.
