It looks like Bravo is going to give us another international show to take the place of Real Housewives of Melbourne! I’m already excited! This time it is a spin off of a British show called Made in Chelsea. Who knew that Stephanie Pratt, Spencer Pratt’s little sister from The Hills was doing scripted TV in England? The show will air on Sundays at noon where Real Housewives of Melbourne used to be.
Click through the page break for the official press release and tell me what you think!
NEW YORK – October 22, 2014 – Bravo Media will air the UK hit series “Made in Chelsea: NYC” Sundays at 12pm ET/PT beginning November 16 with two back-to-back hour-long episodes. The show is a spinoff of the BAFTA award-winning series “Made in Chelsea,” which follows the lives and loves of the socially elite 20-somethings who live in London’s most exclusive area – Chelsea. The six-episode season that will air on Bravo features the show’s best-loved cast as they take New York by storm.
Invading the Big Apple’s social scene are the show’s familiar faces – former star of “The Hills” Stephanie Pratt, Jamie Laing, Binky Felstead, Mark-Francis Vandelli, Spencer Matthews, Lucy Watson, Alex Mytton, Louise Thompson, Stevie Johnson, Rosie Fortescue, Oliver Proudlock, Cheska Hull, Fran Newman-Young, Victoria Baker-Harber, Sam Thompson and Riley Uggla.
The cast will also be joined by four New Yorkers – Bahamas-born fashionista Billie Carroll, international model and philosopher Jules Hamilton, real estate student and socialite Carson Eisenhart, baseball loving VP of Libra Leathers Alik Alfus and Binky Felstead’s New York-based artist sister, A-L.
In the premiere episode, Lucy befriends New York fashion blogger Billie who quickly catches the eye of both of Lucy’s friends – Spencer and Jamie. However, Lucy tries to steer Billie towards her trusted friend and newly single, Stevie. As the Londoners begin to familiarize themselves with the big city, friends Proudlock and Stevie throw a party in their swanky pad, where Proudlock introduces Louise to his New Yorker friend, Alik.
Why are they airing these import shows at noontime on a Sunday? Bravo has too many evenings where they have no programming content at all. Why not show these shows on a Friday or Saturday night?
So the Brits can watch with us and explain shit? I dunno. Other countries get to watch our shows all the time. I am just glad we are finally getting to see what other watch.

Because if they don’t air Fast and the Furious or How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days every Friday and Saturday, the world will implode.
Bwahahahaha!
I need sat & sun for my more intellectual shows like LLHH of Hollywood reruns.
It’s fun: cut-glass drawls, flutes of champagne, endless money and private plane trips to Capri, San Tropez, Cannes. The “Cheps” are whinnying chinless wonders, and the “gels” are spiteful aristophiles, with talents they tout. It’s pleasantly sent up, and totally unmemorable. Marc Francis is exquisite.
It is an openly scripted “reality” show. I’m not interested.
WAIT, Ain’t you one of them there foreigners? Can’t you tell us in more detail?

It’s a novel, breakthrough concept. Everyone goes around trying to get their hole from everybody else. Innovative or what? There’s a startling juxtaposition of hauteur and lechery in each character, which is not easy to pull, or toss disdainfully, off. Their insults are withering – keep a notebook handy.
Frenchie —excuse my ENGLISH, but what did you just type?..lol
I’ve seen it already :(.
Really? On Sunday afternoons? Ugh.
QUIT YOUR BITCHING ABOUT THE TIMESLOT PEOPLE. You can DVR it and watch whenever. Us ugly American’s are getting some sophisticated programming from fancy places! Perhaps we will become more civilized and global and shit! GAWD.

Long time reader, first time poster. Not thrilled with time slot, but will give it a shot. Looks like a lot of people. Will probably take the whole season to learn names
Team Lucy and Binki!!! Fuck Spencer (not related to Stephanie) and Stephanie Pratt!!
wait that is not the chick from The Hills?

It is but the Spencer on the show is not Spencer Pratt. It’s a douchebag cheating british socialite Spencer Matthews. Stephanie is regularly ‘imported’ onto the show the last couple of seasons. She dated Spencer for a bit her first season then I think he cheated on her.
well the press here says that Stephanie is spencer’s sister from THE HILLS. But not THAT spencer.

Yeah that is true. It is the Stephanie from ‘The Hills’ but her brother isn’t on the show thank god!! By god I obviously mean Lady Gaga.
I’m a Brit and seen all the seasons – happy to explain all
So wait, is Stephanie Pratt one of the Americans featured on their trip to NYC, or is she on the seasons filmed in England? How does her storyline explain why she is in the UK?
Pratt is in the NY season and an England season proceeding it. She randomly just shows up as Spencer’s new girlfriend as their families are apparently friends. She stays with him on a tourist visa for a few months.
Preceeding** the two seasons preceeding the NY season has Pratt in it too.
Interesting…Thanks, Michael. Nobody on this side of the pond has given a shit about her since like 2008. And even on The Hills she was such a minor side character. Good for her getting back on TV to an unsuspecting audience! Weird dating a guy named Spencer when you’re only known for being the sister of a guy named Spencer.
I totally thought that too. I have turned down dates by guys who share the name of my brother and father. It just sounds weird. Spencer is kind of the head douchebag of the show so I doubt she had a choice, the producers probably set them up. This show is so overly scripted. More so than The Hills or The City. At least a lot of these 20 somethings are heirs to family fortunes.
I’m from England and while I’m not going to say don’t watch the show, I’ll just forewarn everybody that every entire hour of every season revolves around the cast ‘dating’ one another. It’s like watching a not-so-good-acted documentary on swingers (minus intercourse, of course), because nothing else happens aside from cheating, dating and wanting to date. That being said, there’s always about five minutes of Mark-Francis Vandelli making some form of snobbish comment about something in a voice similar to Prince Charles, which is slightly funny and entertaining. But yeah don’t expect too much guys. Y’all should petition for Geordie Shore or The Valleys, now they’re a hot mess.
I’m American, who is Geordie Shore and The Valleys?
Geordie Shore is the UK version of the MTV show Jersey Shore. It’s about a bunch of, as Chica said, hot messes from Newcastle. My sister lives across the pond and her fiance is from Newcastle. The show has had a similar effect on their reputation as it did on Jersey people here. We love to rib him about it. No clue what The Valleys is.
Okay, I am going to need the Brits not to tell us about their Jersey Shore counterparts. I prefer my delusions that you are all very clean, and formal and proper and drink tea out of fine china all day long with their pinkies elegantly extended.
Work with me here, people.

They call it “hooking up”. Think of quoits, in a kind of human, gymnastic, way.
A “male model/philosopher”? That should be… Weird.
I’m late on this, but I LOVE Made in Chelsea. They used to air it on Style before the network got axed.
What is that sport where they extend pinkies, shout “Pull!” and then scatter-fire, in yellow waistcoats and Tweeds?
skeet shooting.
Yes, I’m one of many boiling that they suddenly dropped the Style Channel and replaced it with LOUSY Esquire. There are ENOUGH channels for the guys….anyway, I hated how they aired the British series “Made In Chelsea” on Style and suddenly dropped it. I got hooked and have been wanting to see ALL of the series, but the DVD’s are not in US format yet. By the time they are available, we’ll have to catch up with too many seasons. I am glad they are having this NY version, but it won’t be long enough; just SIX episodes? WTH? Probably “testing” the ratings.
And stop being so jealous of the good looking guys on the Chelsea series. If you can’t take it, then don’t watch!
i’m a Brit and seen all the seasons including this spin off (they went to NYC for the summer)
happy to answer all queries
I love Brit movies. Just watched that movie about the guy that owned all the strip clubs and his daughter died from drug over dose. ( can’t remember a thing nowadays). Being 30 sucks monkey nuts!
Jesus Christ, CRS at 30? Maybe you just forgot you are 50?

BWAHAHA Bravogirl 24/7 Then I’m a walking, talking corpse, because I’m 51! LMAO
Well it’s my birthday today (26th October) and I’m 56 so I don’t know what that makes me. I think there’s been a mistake somewhere though because I still love Duran Duran and Alice Cooper.
Happy Birthday , Gabby! 56 Tamara Tattles Tokens to you! Thanks so much for posting here. (psst I think you may have more tokens than anyone. 🙂 )

I’m 55. I’ll let you in on a secret Bravogirl 24/7, 50+ is much easier than 30. I also count myself really lucky to still be alive. Happy Birthday, Gabriella.
Uh, complaining about being 30? PLEEEEEZE! You ‘re not 100 with dementia! Drugs, meds, booze, illness, lack of sleep can all contribute to not being able to remember….
I saw the first season of Made In Chelsea. It wasn’t any different than something like the Rich Kids of Beverly Hills (not exact title)….just better behaved. Still had drama, but let’s be real, it’s upper class snobs. I originally watched it since I am a fan of British entertainment.
Oh I hated that rich kids show. Watched maybe 2 episodes if that.

What do you think of the Euros of Hollywood coming to Bravo soon, TT? Will you try it out? It seems the same concept as Shahs of Sunset – mixed group of men and women with a similar culture living as very wealthy immigrants in Southern California. I didn’t expect to but I absolutely love Shahs, so it could be good maybe?
I’ll probably take a peek depending on when it airs.

blooshter, it’s “have seen”. Don’t let the Brit grammar police down. Not on this site. Follow the poodle’s lead.
No gun dog yet bred will point, track and retrieve shot skeet. Not even Frenchpoodles. Binky’s mother (a game bird) insists that one always spits. Presumably BEFORE retrieving, but after the punch bowl.
Saw every season on youtube a couple of years ago and loved it! Please also check out Desperate Scousewive and TOWIE! I die!
And import “Tool Academy” also from cutting edge Channel 4 UK, where girlfriends trick significant others into a high money competition, but each week one tool is eliminated, for being “Just a Tool”. The least toolish wins. I’m serious.
Oh God. I’m a Pom living in Oz and they show TOWIE here. It’s cringeworthy.
um, wtf is a Pom? lol

@TT: That’s what Aussies call the Brits. The term has been around for about a hundred years and its origins are contested and no-one knows for sure. Some Poms get a bit offended by it but I don’t. It’s not normally meant nastily!
I’ve seen it and other seasons of this show. Meh. Snobby drama. I wouldn’t’ve seen it if it didn’t come on after Hollyoaks. My DVR surely won’t be programmed for it.
Ha—Love the “snobs”! Not jealous—-My DVR WILL be programmed—
Does anyone know why BRAVO stopped airing this show? It wasn’t on last week. It’s not on this week. And it’s not on the schedule for next week. They only aired the first four episodes. It’s not showing up on their website either. Has it been canceled?

I never saw it. It didn’t come on when they said it would and I forgot about it.
