There sure are a lot of doctors on The Blacklist. This week’s doctor, Linus Creel is only 7 numbers away on the list from last week’s Dr. James Covington. I really should put all the blacklisters in order by name and number or get an unpaid intern to volunteer. 🙂 If anyone is willing, you can see all the recaps so far, here.
We begin this week with a seemingly nice lady who is down on her luck speaking to a banker about saving her home. She seems very stressed and sweaty. There is a man watching her in a car outside. When the banker turns her down, she goes out to her car and gets a gun and starts blowing people away inside the bank. The dude watching her has what looks like her medical file and make a voice notation that the situation was a success.
Red tries to get Naomi to go back into a protection program again and she is not willing to leave her husband Frank. Red says if she loves him, they need to start a new life. Frank says they don’t need his help. Frank doesn’t trust Red. Red puts Pee Wee Herman on the case and Pee Wee discovers that the reason Frank doesn’t want to relocate is because he has a mistress he would have to leave behind. Whatever, Frank, I’m sure you can get a new mistress at the new place. Pee Wee was super upset with the mistress for leaving the dog in the house all day. So he takes the dog to Frank. So Frank gets to move with two bitches after all. Red tells Frank he will be faithful to Naomi and go into his protection. He persuaded Frank with a stick to the throat. It worked.
Red tells Liz about the woman who shot up the bank. He says there are a lot of random acts of violence from people who never had any history of violence. Red says the government is running mind control experiments using private citizens. Ressler and Liz go to interview the lady who shot up the bank. It seems the randomly violent people all had false allegations and unusual hardships before going nutso. They also have an extreme warrior gene that makes them predisposed to aggressive behavior when triggered.
Dr. Linus Creel seems to be a former doctor who worked on a black ops mission called Sub-Project 7 (SP7) that was an experiment to identify those with a warrior gene and exploit their predispositions by making them black ops soldiers. He seems to have carried on by himself after the experiment was not a success. He has trichotillomania, a psychological disorder that causes him to pull little patches of hair out of his scalp when watching his subjects become violent.
Red takes Lizzie, who pretended to be a blogger, to meet some guy who can figure out the redacted parts of the government documents they needed. He also tells the name of the person they are looking for is Dr. Linus Creel. Liz manages to go undercover as one of Dr. Creel’s psych patients because Aram can’t get past his firewall.
The doctor interviews her with some pretty interesting questions regarding her husband. She is pretending to be having violent outbursts due to her husband’s bad behavior. Dr. Creel asks her about what she would like to do to him if she caught him cheating. Lizzie says. “I’d chain him up and force him to tell me about all the lies and  the secrets he kept. I’d make him my prisoner.” I get the feeling she has already done that.
Dr. Creel says she needs genetic testing. He tells her that how her parents treated her  is important, but the genes they pass on are even more important. I hope she keeps these genetic tests and matches them with Red’s or at least Naomi’s. She completes the mission she was there for by getting access to the computer password Aram needs.
Dr. Creel has another patient named Duncan. He lures Duncan to an anti-gun violence rally by making him believe the girlfriend who has dumped him will be there. Once Duncan shows up, Creel tells him to shoot him. Creel wants to die because he thinks it will insure people will read his research that the leaders of the conference refused to take seriously. Duncan shoots but it’s not a fatal shot. Creel grabs Liz and puts a gun to her head. He is quickly picked off by a sniper. It was the hot guy from her hotel complex! Apparently, he is one of Red’s guys that has been following her since Agent Makim was killed. Red thinks she wants her protection gone because she is hiding something.
Back at the post office, Liz gets her test results from the genetic testing. She also gets an addy on the safe house Red’s ex wife is at. Liz hunts down Naomi in search of answers. Naomi says that Red is just trying to get something from her. He is not who she thinks he is. He has a way of making women feel like they have a special connection. Naomi tells Red she doesn’t know where Jennifer (their daughter). She knew he would come for her one day and she disappeared. Is Liz Jennifer? Naomi says something to Red that sounded like “When are you going to tell her?”
The closing scene is Liz sitting outside a padlocked storage room, drinking a beer and twirling the key with a crazy look on her face.
Sorry if this is a bit spacey and lacking in detail. I ate right before recapping and sometimes eating knocks me out like bout of narcolepsy. I’m fighting to stay away to recap RHONJ.
I am In love with James Spader …I have been addictided to him since Boston Legal …he’s an AWESOME actor …! 🙂 will watch anything he’s in !
I have so many doubts about this show and theories.
What if naomi is not his wife. Remember she said I kept up my side of the bargain. What if she is just playing his wife.
Not convinced Jennifer is his daughter. Too easy.
She did refer to Jennifer as HER daughter.
And yeah, that might not be her mother either.

Thanks for the recaps TT. I know you get this a lot. But your blog is one of my guilty pleasures and escapes. Just had second baby in June. Babies are 14 months apart. And your blog got me through the night feedings.
Just know that what you do brings a lot of people joy….even at 2 am. For that, I am grateful.
Aw, thanks, Fairplay. That’s such a sweet thing to say. I can’t imagine the whole Irish Twins thing! (or close enough!) You must be exhausted!

It’s 2 am. And I am back. Kiddo decided he needed another snack. I am past the total exhaustion phase. Getting good sleep now. So my replies should be better now. Replying while exhausted is almost as bad as replying while drunk. The second pregnancy was a total and utter shock. Lol.
Hang in there. The siblings will be great friends!

This episode was revealing. I loved Liz talking to the creepy Dr. Creel. Although she was pretending to be a character she was using her honest emotions when answering questions. Remember the Masoud woman made a bet that Liz wasn’t lying. Afterwards she covered Liz by pretending she was wrong and paid the bet. She gave Liz her file back from Dr. Linus Creepy Creel so no one would know how deeply disturbed she is. The cut to her sitting in the chair playing with the keys looking at the locked door with that smirk was brilliant. Exactly as described in the session. And remember Red said the reason she resented hottie hotel guy following her is because she is hiding something. Red doesn’t miss ANYTHING so you know his spies have already told him what Liz is up to and he’s just waiting for shit to get turned up! I am stumped by this daughter Jennifer thing. Liz can’t be her, wouldn’t she recognize Naomi as her mother???? Loved the way Red handled the cheating husband. Wasn’t ready for that reveal as all Naomi was concerned about from the beginning was how she had lied to her husband all these years and her husband really played the wounded spouse when he was actually a lying dog. Love this show. Will Naomi be back because she discovers her husband is scum? What is the real purpose of the Masoud woman coding up to Liz?
Red picks these cases for a reason, and it’s usually clear what he gets in the end. I thought it might be the DNA samples/research to find either his daughter or new recruits to be his mercenaries. Near the end of the episode at the cabin he asked Liz how things went and she said that he already knew. Was she saying that he knew their DNA did not match? What benefit did he get from this case?
I wonder why Agent Keen undressed in front of Sniper guy and wrote Bite Me on her window pane 🙂
Was that the scene where she was trying to draw his attention away from her sneaking out?
oh no! I am so sorry, thats on the next episode. i posted in this one thinking it was the latest episode titled “the front”
sorry again but please look out for that scene
I just realized The Blacklist didn’t tape for me this week. About to watch On Demand.
