And just like that, RHONJ comes to an abrupt stop after only 12 episodes. This of course means that everyone gets about half the check for a normal season. What remains to be seen is whether or not Teresa and Joe will film a few more post sentencing episodes to scrap together a few more bucks. I suppose time will tell.
We start the show at the courthouse. I really think that is cool looking court house. Love the blind justice statue. Paul Fishman announces that Joe Giudice received 41 months and Teresa got 15.
Then we flash back to six months earlier. Teresa and Melissa are hanging out at her house with all the kids. The kids are bouncing off the walls. Teresa is stressed.
Meanwhile, Dina and the twins are at “Abbey’s House” where the Project Ladybug event will be taking place. It’s ginormous. Is that an actual residence or an event hall? There are giant dogs there that make it seem like maybe Abbey lives there. Oh, it is her home and Dina is worried about the hoodlums coming. Victoria is NOT invited. Teressa is still expecting an apology from Teresa. She makes snide comments about the Giudice family falling apart.
You know what would be great? Another segment about Amber’s cancer. I can’t wait or recap this shit.
Melissa and Joe break ground on the house they are not really building. For some reason this involves digging a very deep hole.
At the setup for the Project Ladybug event, Teresa looks bad even under ten layers of makeup. The stress is totally taking its toll.
Teressa is arriving with an attitude toward Teresa. Fireworks are definitely on the menu. During the fashion show Amber pulls Rino aside to try to apologize. Rino says that Jim has major issues with women. Rino just wants to move on. Rino was very kind. Teressa could take a lesson from her husband. Teressa goes up to Teresa and Teresa tries to explain that she was not involved in the rumor. The twins ask Teresa is she is really that stupid. They keep poking Teresa calling her stupid. The girls hug it out eventually.
There was very little of the event shown. It seems that this is the season wrap up. Teresa was feeling sick in the bathroom. Everyone did a little talking head about nothing in particular. I forgot about Tre’s fear of dogs. And there were 2 or 3 Great Danes in the house. Tre hid in the closet.
Back to sentencing day. Kathy, Richie, and Rosie are watching the sentencing on TV. They are really upset. Jac heads over to the Wakile’s to wait for Tre’s verdict. There were several hours between Joe and Tre’s sentence. The folks at the Wakile house seem genuinely upset. Rich is actually crying.
Bravo has once again fucked up my Sunday night DVR plans which are quite complex by tacking on a stupid WWHL episode with the twins on to the show. God my heart was breaking for the Wakiles. Why were Melissa and Joe not filmed on sentencing day.?
I didn’t notice that Melissa and Joe weren’t filmed on sentencing day … interesting.
gawd, not the cancer again … was there even 1 episode where it was not mentioned?
I really wanted to see how Melissa and Joe reacted to the verdict, It would have been more interesting than Jacq and her ‘she doesn’t want me’ crap. I did feel bad for Rosie, Kathie and even Rich when they were shown. I hope Joe was with their parents tho now that I think about it and they would not want Bravo in their faces hearing their daughter’s future. I still can’t stand the twins. Their opening bit where everybody loves us, is a LIE, because I sure don’t like let alone love them.
Did you hear what tre said on WWHL regarding J&M (whilst) she and Joe were away at the university. There is no love lost on those two.
Melissa seemed sad tonight. It was very sad. All the kids are so beautiful.
Melissa sad? She’s doing the happy dance hoping she’ll be the next star of the show now that Teresa is going away.
I think she was sad in that moment. It doesn’t mean she still wouldn’t like to be the star of NJ. I definitely believe that!! And definitely believe she won’t. Just doesn’t work that way. I don’t see how there can be a NJ without Teresa. I think somehow even from prison, they can still incorporate her. She’s not going to be in there long and I’m sure she’d do it. Melissa is just not that interesting. Joe thinks so though. I actually like Joe. He’s entertaining.
They weren’t filmed because the stupid duo was too busy doing the Happy Dance.
I think they weren’t on it because Melissa wouldn’t be able to hide her glee.
Teresa mentioned in her WWHL interview that their family was waiting at their house for them so I assumed that’s where Melissa and Joe were.
No they were not there. During the WWHL interview Theressa said they were’nt there
How would Teressa know who was at the Giudice house?
Beth,
Teresa said Joe and Melissa were not at her house after the verdicts not Teressa.
Unfortunately, Amber and Jim will be back next season. Want to know why everyone hates them! They had no storyline that’s why she kept mentioning cancer.
There will be a next season, why?
I loved Dina’s dress at the charity event. I’ve got find that one.
It’s on rent the runway
OMG , I must thank you for that! Had never heard of it.
ME TOO! I’m dying to know where its from!!
I could not stand the fake scene with Melissa and Joe breaking ground. Does anyone believe they are actually going to build or that they have enough money/cash flow to build another McMansion when they still own the other one. I keep threatening but after the reunion, I swear, no more.
Haven’t Bravo realised by now that fake new houses and fake new businesses are NOT interesting storylines. I’d rather watch 5 minutes of Melissa shopping or eating a salad rather than the fake new house and fake new business venture scenes. Bravo really thinks these scenes are interesting? Then again all season we have watched housewives clearing snow and ex-housewives eating salads. Surely NJ is going the way of Miami.
*They have the timeslot for a dozen more shows. And with Shahs delayed do to the post production strike, I full expect to see new episodes of just the Giudices and Gorgas filmed in the next 60 some odd days with the episodes airing right after the reunion. Holiday shows, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years right up to the moment the car takes Tre off to college.*
*You heard it here first. *

Now that is an interesting thought. I guess it is possible and does make sense (they need the money to pay those lawyers). Tre is still a huge draw for Bravo if the latest poll is anything to go by. Tre’s fans would tune in and some ‘haters’. It may even be a bit of a new direction considering there wont be fights over stupid Santa rumors instead the impending ‘trip to college’ will undercut the family scenes and bring a lot of tension.
I guess I don’t see the “trip to college” as being very different from the “what will happen with the court case?” theme we heard all season.
It all boils down to “Theresa and Joe are going through so much.”
I suppose some people would find it amusing to watch Joe learn how to pack a lunch, etc, I personally wouldn’t, that’s just me, though. Also, we all know it’s going to be the grandma or Gia making lunches/parenting, not Joe. I don’t doubt that Joe loves his girls. I had just been led to think (by what producers showed us) that Joe had softened a bit. Hearing that he’s saying “I’ll kick you in the face” to reporters makes me remember he’s a criminal, wannabe tough-guy jerk. Who drinks and drives on occasion. Etc. Don’t want to see him anymore!
Sick of the NJ franchise more than anything.
I will watch and recap any show about the angst of preparing to do the time for the crime. That’s just me. I think it will be ratings gold and since production knew in advance this season sucked ( to the point of bringing back Jac post production) I think they are banking on it as well.

@ Beth b: Yes: It immediately grabbed my attention too that Joe G. opened a huge gaping hole with that machine. Only a fool would operate heavy machinery that he was not familiar with with beautiful wife hanging off of. (Fyi: I work in heavy foundation construction.) Also, most smaller houses are built on hand dug “footings.” Large houses are built on drilled piers. That prevents settlement.

I kind of want one of those giant dogs. Don’t tell Banjo. I just had to oragel his skin and give him his last remaining emercency steroid because I was out of flea crap. I am the worst dog mother ever. Off to the vet form Comfortis in the AM. sigh.

@Kitty Mamma – What makes you think that Joe Gorga doesn’t know how to operate heavy machinery? He’s a builder.
@ DJFL: I never said Joe couldn’t operate machinery. I just thought it was odd he was digging a big hole where he told his wife their house was going to be.
Also, they never show the full lot the make-believe mansion is supposed to be built on. Looks too small to me.
¤ Poor Rosie. She was looking old at the sentencing-day gathering. I guess she’s been feeling her cousin’s stress too. Or so it would seem.
¤ Who else wanted to smack Jacqueline when she had her breakdown at the Wakiles? Yes, we get it that the Giudice’s plight has saddened you. However, it’s not about you, Dear.
¤ I didn’t think it would happen, but it did: Jim’s remark about the Giudices “It’s not like they got cancer”. How silly I was to be surprised. It would seem he’s so afraid of losing his wife…or is SO dominated by her…that he has to make sure she knows that he knows that nothing in the world is as bad/scary/serious/awful as what she went through. Jim – not a good look for you, Dude.
¤ I missed the season-finale “what they are doing now” updates. Didn’t they do them or was I not watching closely enough? They are usually so wonderfully passive-agressive and funny. I was especially looking forward to Amber’s. Perhaps the TT commenters could write our own? I’ll start:
“Amber continues to be a loving wife and mother, and remains involved in cancer research, specifically finding the last people on Earth to remind them that she had THE CANCER. Jim’s full time occupation keeps him busy, too…searching for the optimum blend of vinegar and water.”
Don’t they usually do those at the end of the reunion?

No, they usually do it at the finale with a little pop up comment saying what they’d be up to today.
Nope. The usual drill is towards the end of the season-finale all-in party, they’ll pan around the room and do the blurbs as they land on each Housewife. Maybe Dina’s event was supposed to be that party, but the tacked-on sentencing stuff ate up the screentime? IDK…
Next week they are doing the lost footage or whatever they call that show (it is going to be Atlantic City, etc.). Maybe they will do them at the end of that show. The reunion is 2 weeks tonight.
I missed them too! I was wondering where the scene where they all say something like “we’re family even though we fucking hate each other’s guts!!” immediately following the finale fight before their pop up comment. It really helps solidify how insane these shows are.
Rosie clearly did not have her TV makeup on, that’s why she looked so old.
Rosie always looks awful with lipstick on; I don’t know why they put it on her, she”s too butch to carry it off.
Ericzku: I honestly had each of those exact same thoughts go through my head!
@ericzku – Yeah, Rosie doesn’t look so hot with no makeup.
Are my ears crooked, or did I hear Rosie pray to God to make her family Holy?
She did, but she was reading the prayer off her phone. Nor sure who wrote that.

I think the Wakiles were genuinely upset & surprised Tre got jail time. I wanted to slap Jacqueline for her hysterics though and her email “from the heart”. Ugh.
The twins are hotheaded idiots. Had Teresa not been under so much stress I believe a table or two may have been flipped when they confronted her. Glad she kept her cool.
The Wakile’s genuinely sorry, I think not as they hate Teresa and have from day one on the show. They may have been sad that they will no have the bash Teresa storyline as they nothing else.
I agree on the twins, can’t stand them.
You could do what I do, change the channel when the twins are on camera!
@beth boxer – The best way is to DVR the show and FF through their scenes! Or you could just hit the mute button on the remote.
Jacqueline and Teresa had the same life as stay at home mothers until Joe filed for bankruptcy. Once that happened, Teresa knew her previous life as a stay at home mother was over, and immediately started taking book signing gigs for her cookbook, etc. Jacqueline kept the same life, and doesn’t get Teresa knows that life is over forever for her. She’ll never be the same friends either with Jacqueline, because Teresa doesn’t trust Jacqueline after all the secrets of Teresa’s Jacqueline has blurted out on purpose, on camera.
It was 100% over when Jacq blurted out at a past reunion about Joe sleeping with the babysitter (or was it the secretary?) and that Tre walked in on it or caught them somehow. Before that point I think there was a chance they could at least film with each other and be cordial.
Don’t forget the “I hope you go to jail” comment.
@ Micheal – I think Jacqueline said that Teresa walked in on Joe screwing his secretary on his desk.
I hated watching Jacqueline cry about Teresa’s sentencing tonight. Kathy and Rich, ok, you haven’t been great to her (or she to you) at some points, but you are family and when shit goes down, you are going to feel loyalty to them. But Jacqueline went out of her way to try to hurt Teresa in any way she could on the show for 2+ seasons. Don’t cry now. It’s so disingenuous.
I remember Jacq calling Tre out on the reunion saying Tre walked in on Joe banging his secretary on his desk, that’s the only reason I could ever think of that Tre shut her off completely. I don’t remember the “I hope you go to jail” comment…if Jacq really said that, it’s amazing she wasn’t struck by lightning when she bawled over the sentencing. Were there other times Jacq betrayed Tre’s trust? I’m just surprised after all the ass-kissing and obsessing that Tre didn’t accept Jacq back as a follower.
I agree. Just seeing the reactions to their verdicts speak magnitudes. Four children are going to lose their parents. Heartbreaking.
It was a very weird ending to a short season. It was strange that the what are they doing now tags weren’t shown and it was even stranger that there was no big fight at the party since that’s usually how the season end. I kind of get the impression that once the party was over and production reviewed the footage and realized they couldn’t spin it into some sort of big drama to draw ratings they coupled that with the fact that they were getting boring footage from the new girls and Dina and just decided to cut there losses and end the season early, maybe deciding to bring back Jacqueline to shoot scenes to add it with what they already shot to try and boost ratings somewhat. I can’t see this particular edition of the franchise lasting much longer. Nicole and Teressa try their best to start trouble but they just really aren’t at all interesting and poor Amber is even less interesting and has had that whole deer caught in a headlights look about her all season. It’s obvious her husband pushed her on this show hoping to get attention for himself somehow. Dina just isn’t (and quite frankly never was interesting). She refuses to engage in any drama and claims to be all zen and shit but at the same time if engaged in all kinds of drama behind the scenes with her sister, brother, sister in law and current soon to be ex husband. Without her being willing to bring any of those situations onto the show, she just doesn’t have enough of a personality to draw viewers. Unless they can quickly ramp up production and film a short season between now and January 05th I don’t see this show continuing.
Jac making the Gudice sentencing all about her was disgusting but par for the course. God I hope she isn’t on next season.
There’s no way Teresa could possibly be her old angry self at all this season, with everything riding on the sentencing, and the sentencing not coming after the filming. She had to take anything and everything, and essentially not react, and that’s what she did.
You are completely correct, however, I think she missed the boat on quite a few other things that could have helped garner sympathy and make her appear a bit more “innocent”. For example: maybe not shoot at her gigantic (UGLY) house: a reminder of all they reaped from their criminal actions. Also, probably could have left out the scene where Theresa starts “really considering” “downsizing”–to an 8,000 sq. ft. (used!) house with a pool. Poor thing!
The preview for the reunion actually caught my attention. Dina commenting on Jacq coming back onto the show looks juicy. Even the seating arrangement looks like fun. Dina having a dig at Melissa for coming onto the show to fight with Tre was golden.
I feel like clearly some if the wives and their husbands read this blog and the comments as one of the twins had a dig at Amber for always saying “The Cancer”. Also Bobby is given shit for going into the bathroom. Both things that the fans have really spoken a lot about on Twitter and here.
Is anyone else looking forward to the reunion or just me?
I’m looking forward to it, and I agree all these housewives read all the blogs they can get. I’m always seeing/hearing them repeat things I’ve read on blogs. 🙂
So what kind of wig can one make with that minuscule amount of hair removed from amber? It couldnt even make a baby wig. Maybe a toupee .
Snap!
And why was her daughter having a breakdown? Egads?!?
@kitty mama.. Who knows one of her parents probably whispered In her ear that amber Was about to be shaved bald after her trim because they knew the thought of her mom being bald would freak her out and maybe they’d get more camera time .
Amber and her mom seem to
place lots of emphasis on long hair, the poor child probably thinks short hair makes one ugly .
For real!
@OO – That’s exactly what I thought!
OO – I noticed that also. A strick donation requirement Is 10 in. minimum. They need at least 10″ to make a wig. That was why they sort of kept it hidden. I guess I don’t understand the point.
@pcinkc . Wow I didn’t know about the 10″ minimum . But makes total sense . Amber should not be allowed to have pretend storylines about something this serious . She’s disgusting . Her behavior and lies are going to force something terrible to happen to her .
Amber’s hair was very, very long and to me it looked like there was about 20 inches left on her head. From bald to 30 inches in 5 years would be an average growth of 6 inches a year. I remember some people saying that was not her hair. They measured her hair before they cut it and was 30 inches. Even though she has cried about cancer a lot this whole season, many times she seems to be prompted by production too. After seeing her scarred back and what she and her family has gone through, I have nothing but compassion. She went through hell by anyone’s standard. I would never mock a person who has gone through this regardless of her douchebag husband. She’s somebody’s daughter, mother.
I though the said it was 36 inches. I’ve had this argument with people here before but you hair doesn’t grown 36 in five years after chemo. It’ just doesn’t.

There is absolutely no way that her hair grew from bald to 36″ in 5 years. No freaking way.
Last night, I heard 30 inches. 36 is a little far fetched.
Her hair did not grow 36 inches in 5 yrs since chemo. It just hasn’t. It’s BS.
Her hair was 30″. The average growth rate of hair is 1/2 inch per month, times 60 months is 30″. That definitely could be her hair. She’s not my favorite, but I like that she donated her hair towards the making of a wig.
You keep saying this everytime we bring it up. But “average hair growth” is NOT applicable to cancer patients. There is no way that is her real hair.
I now realize the whole point of the scenes filmed so much later of Jac, Kathy, et al., was for the sole purpose of positioning them to be a part of the season’s conclusion, which was the sentencing. The impending court appearance of Teresa and Joe was about all they spoke about in their stupid meet up’s. Producers wanted on camera reactions from the other side of the years of drama. It would have been too odd to just stick them in a single cameo appearance. This explains the lack of any real attempt for a storyline from that bunch.
I do not for a minute believe their empathy was any more than a sincere feeling of “glad it’s not us.”
Why not just film the Wakiles and Gorgas reacting together then? Just Kathy, Rosie, Joe and Melissa? Jacqueline was completely uneccessary in every scene she was in. I still don’t understand why Bravo thought Jacq and her fake sadness was needed for the sentencing scene. She and Tre ended last season on a pretty bad note. Atleast the Wakiles are family, their presence does make sense.
For the viewers, Jacqueline was Teresa’s friend, then enemy, then frenemy, for longer than we ever heard of the Wakile’s. There had been a bunch of Laurita’s and Manzo’s on the show with the Guidice’s. They only one on this season was Dina, who can’t speak for any of the others because they don’t. Having their reaction was not necessary and who cares what they think, but I can see the tie in.
I’m not disagreeing with you Angel, more like I don’t understand the logic from Bravo’s perspective. They bring back and presumably pay an ex-housewife who is mostly disliked by the fan base, to film her reaction to the sentencing outcome of Tre, a frenemy she has had no meaningful contact eith for over a year. To me that makes little sense.
Atleast with the Wakiles they are family and whether at the time they were on speaking terms with Tre or not the sentencing does impact their family indirectly.
I think Rich expected Tre to get off with probation. I think he was truly upset when she got time. He’s not the kind to fake it.

I’ve wondered if having Jacq in any scenes of RHONJ was only to get more people to watch Manzod with Children. Just my guess.
I think so, too. Remember when they had the meal with Rosie and her mother/family, and Rich asked what the mother thought about Teresa’s situation, and the mother said she prays, and no good comes from cheating or something to that effect. The WAY Rich asked her was like baiting the woman to speak bad, I thought. I just can’t him. Ever.
Yeah, bitchy Richie wakile is all broken up over the sentencing. Didn’t he just call Fabulini “Felonini”. Nice joke at the expense of those people you’re wife is fake sobbing about.
I’m sure all they’re thinking is “the bitch rubbed our noses in the fact we’re the poor relations, she got what’s coming to her.”
I questioned Kathy and Rich’s reactions for a second, but then quickly realized they were probably sincere. I think it was a combination of the shock that Teresa is actually going to do time along with the realization that those 4 girls will be away from their mother. Then the father may be deported! Heartbreaking, to say the least. That family is in shambles.
Was Teresa hiding in the closet from fear of the huge dogs or from meeting the home owner, Abby, who owns a collection agency?
Tre is terrified of dogs. It’s been a thing on many seasons.

Nearly choked reading your reply — I had many a fight w/my ex re. his choice of “the color of shit in decor” — too funny!!!! I even hate to WEAR anything brown.
I love to wear brown only in the fall/winter. I have a couple of brown suede jackets/coats that go with everything. I’m a red head so brown looks good on me, but not to saturate a 30,000 sq ft mansion
@Urethra Franklin — You should see the houses in my neighborhood. There’s even a black one. I’ve never seen a black house in my life! I bucked the trend with “Shell Pink”, which is really a pale peach color.
The black house sounds really cool. But I was referring to all the brown inside that mansion.
I heard melissa joe and dina refused to have resctions filmed on sentencing day.. so melissa and joe arent really building a house??

Maybe a house of cards……..
but not an actual house. It’s all smoke & mirrors for Bravo faux scripting.
I think the family was at Tre’s house watching together and taking care of the girls. While the film refusal seems sweet in theory, I have a feeling we might see footage of this in the future.

I know no one wants to discuss Amber but I have to address the hair donation scene…this infuriated me when I watched it.
The wig which was being made from the couple of swatches of hair were clearly for either her daughter’s Barbie doll or Jim’s mangina!
Does she really think people are that stupid to believe a swatch of hair can be made into a wig. Perhaps if she wasn’t so self absorbed then she would’ve cut an ample amount of her hair off instead of cutting a couple of inches then curling it so it seemed like she cut 10 inches off. NOONE likes you Mrs. Marchese…that is all, talk amongst yourselves.
Agreed. I don’t want to discuss them either. But this was a bull shit scene. I just can’t stand them.
You know, I have a bad feeling that as Teresa is being processed in to “college”, she is going to have a complete and total breakdown, and will spend some of her time in a psyc ward. And I’m not saying this to be mean. She has a deer in the headlights look on her face all the time now. I really think she is going to break.
Agreed, won’t last past the bend and cough.
I think she’ll have the breakdown before and in private. But she’ll be stoic when she gets there. She doesn’t seem to like anyone to see her as weak or defeated IMO. She’s got three months to get use to the idea.
Milania: “There’s an elevator! Let’s get a new house!”
Teresa: “You want to get a new house?”
Heh.
No comments about Amber’s mom? I thought she was very young looking and pretty. Seemed very nice and real. I was wondering how much money was raised at this benefit, compared to Dina’s previous events. I got the
impression that the twins did a awesome job helping bring in deep pockets. Loved the Great Danes!!

Did I miss an episode or two, or did Bravo preview an entire storyline and then never air it?! In the previews for the start of the season, there were clips of all the wives/husbands chilling in a casino in Atlantic City (or Vegas???), and everyone was screaming and calling Amber mentally ill and swearing to never speak to her again. Bravo basically cancelled the show in the middle. They opted to only air 12 episodes.
