Phaedra Parks Goes to Church

October 17, 2014 by tamaratattles 92 Comments

Oh for the love of all that is holy. This here is one hot mess. Phaedra’s book is about virgins being prepared? This woman is insane. If the pastor’s level of literacy is any indication, can’t none of those people read.

If you are interested in the parable of the ten virgins, you can click through for the entire scripture.RHOA Phaedra face 3

The Parable of the Ten Virgins

“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’

7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’

9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’

10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’

12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. (Matthew 25; 1-13)

If Phaedra were to ask me for a  reading recommendation, I’d keep her right there in  Matthew but send her back a few chapters to chapter 7  where Jesus condemns  false believers of  “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ ” (Matthew 7:21-23)

I’m dying to hear what you think about Phaedra’s plea from the pulpit for book sales.

I am just reminded of ladylike Sister Phaedra’s love for the adult entertainment industry and a particularly a certain well-endowed male stripper. Mmmm Hmmmm. But never was she was more ladylike than when she showed her bare ass cheek testimony under fishnet in front of God and everybody. Amen? She certainly was prepared for the bridegroom that day.

I like Phaedra (point blank and the period). She’s not perfect but who is? My faves on RHOA are Nene, Phaedra, Porsha and sometimes Kandi. I used to like Cynthia until I figured out her scheme…sign friend contracts with the big names on the show and then when you learn that this may be their last season, jump ship and be besties with the person you think will carry you to the next season. She’s a user and I am not a fan….a little off topic but I had to go there.

I agree TT. It’s like that comedian says. People who are idiots or morons should be made to wear signs saying that so we all know from the get go. Or like this person, just notify us the first time you enter the blog so we automatically know what we are dealing with early on in the conversation. That way when speaking to idiots or morons, we know to keep the words to one or two syllables and the sentences shorter if we feel the need to engage them or try to explain something.

Here is what is really going on with Phaedra Parks and Angela Stanton. Well, with Phaedra that is.

I have never met Angela Stanton but I do know of Phaedra and know many people who know Phaedra, if you live in Atlanta then you know these rumors of Phaedra is shady have floated around long before Angela came out with her book.
When Bernstein dropped Phaedra’s case, she hired another attorney for a quick minute and eventually settled for Andrews.
Phaedra made what some would call jokes” about Andrews, “He may be vanilla but he is a fine looking vanilla” the jokes” stopped when Phaedra’s team found the posts James Radford wrote. When you look at the posts, they are not incriminating whatsoever.
If you notice, one was from 2013 when Bernstein still had the case. Bernstein knew she could not say anything because she was active on Twitter tweeting Angela.
Phaedra started to grow frustrated that she and her team were finding the few posts and not Andrews himself.
The latest court documents are evident that is Phaedra’s hope of getting this case dismissed.
Phaedra is not calling Andrews, vanilla” let’s just say that.

You know what’s puzzling? Why go through all those attorneys, all of THIS period? For what? To discredit Stanton’s book? Only to look like you’re further discrediting yourself. Phaedra, lean in… Did Diddy cart Mark C. off into court for writing his book? No. Is Diddy still popular and rich? Yes. Stanton most likely did not lie on you. This is you resenting what you considered to be the “voiceless” finding her voice. Damn that ego!

To the writer above: Why won’t she leave well enough alone? She certainly left Angela “alone” while she was in the pen, now she can’t leave her alone after she picked the pen up. As a lawyer, you should honor her 1st Amendment Rights. You sure honor yours. Anonymous, please find out what you can, and do share! Thnx 🙂

That pastor sounds like he has tourettes with all those amen’s on repeat. I am amazed she was invited to milk it from the pulpit like that. They must run that church like a freak show. I do not know what the message is in her book, but any church I have attended would not invite her period. They do have speakers with hard life pasts and books, but usually after several years of well proven good works and an honest message about redemption.

There seems to be no limitations to the ways Phaedra will promote herself for a buck. Her crowd doesn’t go to book stores apparently, she has to catch them after shootings and while their guard is down in worship.

So, the schedule went something like this. Get up and go do the Ellen show. Leave, change into church dress and take to the pulpit and discuss how her book about “being a southern belle” is really all about how to be prepared for the second coming. Leave church return to hotel, order room service in the form of private strippers, cull the straight one from the herd and pay for an over night. Allegedly. Or so the streets or saying.

And this is why I do not belong to a church. The most hypocritical people stand up there telling you how to live your life; meanwhile they are involved in the shadiest of the shade dealings.

I left a comment a while back about Apollo and Phaedra not being in a real relationship. He had his home and she had hers. He also had a side dude and many side chicks. His main girl was former stripper Whyte Chocolate. She was in Phaedra’s bridal party. Apollo swore up and down that he and Phaedra were only pretending to be involved for the cameras and not having sex. Then, BLOOP! Phaedra pops up pregnant. Who’s the pappy? She hightailed it back home to Boston with the car he put in her name. Allegedly. This is all second hand knowledge.

Now it comes out that Phaedra cheated with a Mr. Chocolate. Or was it Ms. Chocolate.

I hope Phaedra is getting appearance fees for her Woman Thou Art Loosed tour.

Yep, that was the very moment I stopped finding Phaedra amusing. I’m not particularly religious although I do find the Bible to be an interesting read, as well as the Koran. I don’t like people who mock other people’s religious beliefs either from a place of hypocrisy, like Phaedra, or from a place of condescension like some atheists…

Great article. I also found the whole “southern belle” moniker (wealthy, white slave owner) stupid and offensive. I’m surprised it is not mentioned more often and that the media hasnt given her grief over it.

Most people don’t know what a southern belle was. This is obvious when black women claim the moniker and then jump into headline marching for justice and peace for their brethren. It’s like leaving church to go screw strippers. Some things just don’t go together.

Yeah the whole southern belle thing is just wrong. When I hear that I automatically think slavery Scarlett O’Hara times. She was just strange from the get. Her 5 month pregnancy with Kim calling her out on it. Plus NO southern religious woman white or black, would go on TV or anywhere talking the kinky shit she does. I’m gonna order the book. You want it when I’m done?

“I don’t ‘live’ on the camera”….lol. Having been one of those church ladies who is flawed, but always close to Him, in the Word and still flawed. Been in white churches, AA churches, Spirit led churches, dead churches, you name it. Due to moving around the country with my hubby’s job. However, I have a difficult time with this. I’ve never heard anyone use the Holy Ghost vs. Holy Spirit argument before. Am I missing something? I really don’t understand why she did this appearance. She has to know it would reach the public. Is she so arrogant that she is no longer fearful of God’s hand, or sowing and reaping? Just hard to understand why she did this.

Where I am from, the old timey churches say Holy Ghost and the fancypants churches prefer Holy Spirit. I took her comment to mean she was from the down home kind of church, Pentecostal even.

Thanks, I get it now. Down home just doesn’t ‘fit’ her, does it?

@tt . The people aren’t getting your subtle hints that its ridiculous and furthermore impossible for a woman of african decent to be a southern belle call themselves southern belles or aspire to be a southern belle . I doubt they’ll google to learn why.

This is why I’ve always felt Phaedra was somehow “off”. The whole insincere Christianity thing – she just goes at it so hard, it’s really weird.

Typical sinner behavior. Phaedra now reaches for the church to save her from prison. LOL

@ blunt .., no the church folks are her new marks . All she has to do is come up with something that rhymes and say Jesus with it . She’ll makes lots of money from that simple crowd .

    Seriously: WHAT. THE. FUCK. ???????

Um, wave that book around more, amen. That preacher sounds like he has some condition that makes him say “amen” all the time, amen. Strange how Phaedra’s accent, voice, tone, cadence, vocabulary, and entire speech pattern completely changed since she filmed Ellen earlier that day, amen. Before I saw this I couldn’t imagine “booing” in church, but had I been there I would’ve definitely booed her off stage, amen. I honestly cannot believe everything about that video, amen. That blew my mind, amen. That bitch is shameless and the parishioners are either incredibly stupid or incredibly polite, amen.
Don’t forget to buy the book, amen!

The large majority of her book appearances were in churches.

this is weird, it’s like saying bring lube on your wedding night? mkay. Everytime I hear about Phaedra and religion I think about her leaning into the strippers crotch and saying ‘and you are shaved up so nicely, too’…not to mention the black net swim wrap over the thong. She’s a study in contrasts.
