Dance Mom Season Finale: Worst Finale Ever?

Dance Moms Gypsies

Yay! I managed to make it to the finale without some numnut  spoiling it for me! The number of people on the Internet who feel the need to explain Google to me on a daily basis can be mind-boggling. I truly think some people think they are the only one’s who have access to Google. Anyway, let’s get on with the show.

We are still pretending Maddie is not going to have a solo. At nationals. It one day until nationals and the farce remains. I hate the Amber Alert dance. Abby says the routine is still a hot mess. The select time is told the need to win to stay.  Then Abby threatens the soloist, Camryn, Chloe, and Kendall. Chloe’s choreography is still mediocre.  Oh look, here comes Maddie solo. Abby is already setting them up for it.

The Amber Alert dance is crap. Abby pulls Maddie and tells her to “go work on her solo.”  And there it is.

Abby loves Camryn and is treating her nicely and working with her a lot. She really wants her to beat Chloe. Oh yeah, Abby just walked in and told Camryn if she didn’t beat “that kid” and then makes the knife slitting throat gesture. Kendall’s solo looks good and Abby is pleased.  Chloe’s rehearsal is not the best. Chloe’s self-esteem is beaten down. She’s lost her desire. Chloe’s mom is a bitch to her too.

Cathy arrives to Nationals and passes out apples to everyone outside who hold them up like trophies when Abby and crew arrive. Priceless.

Dance Moms Chloe leaving.

During hair and makeup, Chloe and her mom make up.  But Abby finds out that Cathy is doing her group number to Chandelier and she and Melissa got to talk to Cathy. Which is stupid even for scripted  TV they don’t own the song and they can’t stop the routine so why give Cathy the satisfaction of letting her know she is irritating them. Cathy says that Sia can’t stand Abby. Insults are traded. Abby says that because of the Chandelier number she is going to pull one of the other girls and put in Maddie doing the her chandelier solo. I don’t think that solo would work for an empty stage. She needs doorways and furniture to jump up on. Abby gives Maddie the choice and Maddie says no. As much as Maddie wants a solo she would never want to take one of the other girls places at the last minute. Jill now thinks Kendall can win it all.

Kendall did great on her solo. If she wins first, it would be well deserved. Abby looked thrilled. I’ve never seen her get that excited for Maddie. Chloe’s dance was good too. And the choreography seemed on par with Kendall’s. The first half seemed a bit like every dance they ever do at ALDC, but she has a chance.  Camryn’s dance was better than either of the other two solos. The choreography was unique. Her movements were crisp. It was sure to win first place, and then….she literally feel on her ass. Poor thing. I don’t really have any sort of attachment to Camryn because we don’t even know her really, but that was just awful. She recovered very, very well though. Abby gave Camryn a hug and a sweet pep talk for following. No. I am serious. She really did. I’m telling you she like Camryn.

Time for group competition. The select team has the best choreography and the best costumes.  The main team is dress like the cast from Little Orphan Annie. Abby is giving the select team every advantage possible.

First up are the rotten apples doing Chandelier. They danced beautifully. Technically they will be hard to beat. But my God those costumes were hideous.  The select team did really well. Especially the littlest girl. OMG. Of course Nia is the kidnapper stealing Mackenzie in the group dance. Of course she is. I hated the Amber Alert dance. Of course Maddie had a solo part at the end that could have appealed to the judges. I thought it was stupid.

OMG. Kendall got NINTH PLACE! She was the best one out there.  Camryn got sixth place. Chloe got fifth place, but it was pretty much a tie between fifth and sixth.  Candy Apples got 5th place in the group dance. The Select Group got second place. Amber Alert won first place.

Christi and Abby have a huge fight. Abby yells at Jill because Kendall cries about her placement. Chloe is crying coming in because she heard Abby screaming crap about her to her mother. Christi has had enough.

Abby sends the select team packing because they came in second. Chloe says that she doesn’t want to dance for Abby anymore. She is going to miss the girls. I think Christi has had Chloe in another studio for quite a while and was just waiting for her contract with Lifetime to expire. Apparently, it has. Most likely for all of them. We shall see who ends up shooting the next season in LA. I will miss Chloe.

I hope that Christi listens to Chloe and gets her out of there. Chloe needs to learn that it’s ok to leave an abusive situation. If Chloe is meant to be a famous dancer then it still happen.

First let’s cut through the charade. Sia dud not give Abbey Lee the right to use the song and according to her publisher because of contractual agreements with actors in the video (Maddie), she gave the right to the other studio as there was no conflict of interest. That is why Maddie did not do the dance.

Now as far as the show is concerned,,,I believe that this show has degenerated completely. The first season while as harsh as any season was at times much fun and exciting as it related to watching the growth of the young dancers. This season and its finale left me feeling terrible that I was even a part of watching this show at all. I would never watch a person hit a child or abuse a child, so why would I watch someone like Abby continually make children feel inferior and worthless through her verbal attacks? So this is why , while I will miss Chloe and Nia, Kendall, Mckenzie and Maddie, I can no longer justify seeing an adult damage the heart and mind of these innocent children for my entertainment,

I don’t know, it seems to me that Chloe felt she won at Nationals and that was enough. Since winning, she has lost interest and did not seem to have any passion for dancing. I know she could do so much more, come on we saw the frustration in her mother tonight, but she is only giving 75 to 80% of her dance ability. she has not shown interest in a long time. If Chloe was taking lessons somewhere else, she would be much, much more confident in her dancing.

You mean when she won Nationals like two years ago? You honestly think that’s why she seems to have “lost interest”?

I could put together a montage on YouTube of every time Chloe got fucked over by Abby and it would exceed the fucking limit allowed. That girl has so much damn courage, I would NEVER have the tolerance to go through, day after day, what Abby put her through.

I was actually watching a season 3 recap episode the other day, which was basically a scripted confessional of Abby narrating the seasons best scenes thus far, when I heard this little nugget of inspiration:

“Everyone is always saying Abby is so Team Maddie, poor Chloe, poor Chloe, but guess what? No one feels worse for Chloe than me because of the decisions her mother has made for her”

I literally had a pit in my stomach that she would even say that – and of all times, it was right after they showed the bonus footage of the exact conversation she had with the judges to take away Chloe’s trophy….you know, when she convinces them they have the scoring wrong, and then as she walks away sneers “HA! Nice try, guys” as if there’s a conspiracy out there to take Maddie down.

I think the “terrible decisions her mother made” were to move Chloe’s REAL instruction to another studio. After that she stopped getting solos.

I don’t think she lost interest after winning nationals. I think she has been worn down by Abby. Hell, most of the time Abby doesn’t even call her by her name. How demeaning is that. I think when Brooke and Paige left she really just started ticking off the days till her contract was up.

When my daughter first showed promise as a gymnast, her coach told me that this was not the deciding issue. The biggest issue was that girls had to get beyond 13 in order to find out if they would stick with the sport. My daughter was 5 going on 6 and I was sure we were in it to win it. Each year she and I would decide if she would be a part of the competition team. It was a HUGE commitment for our family with practice 4 nights a week, meets every weekend all over the southeast, and very expensive in general. For me, I had to assess whether I was supporting her for her or something in me that had gone unmet. Thank goodness I am an earth mother and nearly perfect. So for 8 years we committed and then she turned 13 and gymnastics ended as quickly as it began. Her coach had been right from the beginning; she was 13 and ready to move on. I think that is part of what we have seen in Chole. I think she has the dancer’s body and lines but is ready for a boyfriend and cheerleading and school dances. All things that are sacrificed to be the best in a sport.

She still dances, Alot. Chloe has been in music videos, on magazine covers, models for just for mix, and is staring in a movie. Plus so much more. So I don’t think that’s why she left. I think she was just ready to move on to something else.

Yup me too. It’s disappointing but I’m a little burned out anyways.

Though I AM interested to see what other girls remain, I will not be watching without Chloe and Christi.

I kind of hate to say it, because I really did like Abby for the first two seasons, but I hope next season completely flops.
It’s been tested over and over with Miami, the exclusively Candy Apple episodes, and all the guest girls/other team that no one really cares for any other combination of girls.
The very first season of Dance Moms had that perfect storm of controversy, publicity, talent, mamma drama, and a group of little girls to root for and to buffer all the negativity and capture long term viewers. I really think most people watch for the girls, and they haven’t shown much interest in getting to know new ones.
Abby thinks she’s bigger than them now, and really I hope she’s proven wrong.

Anyone think Christ/Chloe could hold their own show? Possibly with some of the other moms/kids?
Hell, if fucking Asia could get a show I don’t see why not.

Christi tweeted and some of the candy apple moms tweeted that abby actually said something about chloe dances ugly and she needs to get her lazy eye fixed… that is what sent Christi running behind abby and crying. Christi tweeted that chloe has a genetic defect and that’s what abby made fun of but of course lifetime edited it out to protect abby. this show is starting to become really disgusting and sad. I hope Christi and chloe move forward and onto greater things. I really used to love the show when it first aired. the girls all loved to dance and they all got along really well… also. cathy tweeted that the producers were the ones who gave her the song to dance too and she didn’t even want to do chandelier and last minute producers handed kids the wigs… sorry for all of my he said, she said twitter comments, tamara. I’ve been reading your blog for a while now, and this is my first time commenting… the episode really upset me and I had to voice what I was reading on twitter.

Thanks for the info. It was clear the producers gave Cathy the Chandelier song. It’s been the season of SIA this time. They were really pushing that song thus having the woman walk by playing it and giving it even more air time. In general the songs on the show are things they can afford, AKA things we have never heard of.

What you guys don’t know is that chloe actually beat the other soloist by several points but when Abby found out she pulled all the judges to a private room and screamed at them to change it because chloe is a crappy dancer with to many IG and Twitter followers. She attempted to completely edit their score so the judge just decided on a somewhat tie to make everyone happy. Christi found out and that is what set that whole fight into motion. When Chloe said she heard what Abby was saying she meant she heard EVERYTHING Abby had said. They never show what Chloe has actually had to go through. This is the second time Abby has tried to throw off Chloe’s scores so she looses. This is child abuse at its best. I will not watch this show now the Chloe has left.

To me Chloe is the most beautiful dancer out of all of them. Such a beautiful kind girl that like dark numbers, I really like her.

Abby has a problem with popular girls, which is why she hates all the mothers that married men with money and have all the time in the world to sit around their kids all day. I think she can’t stand Chloe because she has everything before even trying.

I will really miss Cloe and her mother on Dance Moms, I’m not sure I can continue watching this scripted mess without their wit and talent.

I also took note to Nia being the kidnapper….of course. The crap that child lives. And Chloe. She has always been my favorite. Justice will be her flourishing at another studio. If there is a God, we will get to see her win with a different teacher and make Abby furious. Good luck Chloe. You will be missed. But you deserve so much more.

As much as I don’t like Kathy with the whole candy apples bit, it would be amazing to have Chloe dance with them for awhile and beat ALDC a few times. I realize Maddie is a star but I have never liked her because of her being babied all the seasons and her lying fake mother would stab her own mother to get her kid stage time. Maddie’s dances to me always look the same and the facial expressions make me cringe.

I will miss seeing Chloe dance, but I will not miss that mother. She complained since day one. If it was that horrible, she could have left years ago. I don’t think she has her daughters best interests at heart…..I know people are going to hate me for saying that, but that is how I feel. Her daughter has been picked on from the very beginning of this show…..and Christy always complains. It is insanity. She is teaching her daughter how to scream, yell and how to cope in an abusive relationship (IMO) — all for what? Money. Sad. I love when chloe does ballet — hope she can follow her dreams.

Chloë is a great little dancer and I wish she would get a spinoff. I don’t think Nia will be going to LA. I am sure Dr. Holly wants to get back to work and any other studio will be glad to get Nia. It’s going to be Kendal, the Ziegler sisters, and maybe Camryn.
Cathy is a mess. She is so obnoxious. She slams Abby’s choreography, but I notice she only has guest choreographers. She’s a 3rd rate version of Mama Rose Hovak. She couldn’t turn Vivi into a Baby June or a Gypsy Rose Lee.
Stage mothers/fathers are an interesting breed of human being.

I read some of the comments below on what she said about Chloe that was not aired. That is absolutely disgusting. She is a child. Shame, shame on Lifetime. I will absolutely no longer watch this show. And in my opinion if the solo’s placed low that is a direct reflection of Abby’s teaching and I use that word loosely. I understand reality tv likes the drama but this is just too much for me. These are children and that is NOT the example that should be set.

A while ago I tried to read the lawsuit Kelly filed against Abby and the production company. It was very confusing. I’m not a lawyer so I can be wrong about the following. But if what Kelly states is true in season 3 which feels like it lasted for over a year she and the girls stood to make somewhere between $200k to $400k. That is life changing money.

So we have to see what the truth is now. If the money is real, what will Christie do? If not then I hope Christie takes Chloe and runs for the hills. I hope she writes a book. I’d love to know the real reasons Abby hates Chloe

I always felt that Christie would give Abby the beat down she deserves. Time will tell.

Yeah this was just an out for Chloe truly. Especially since their contract (her and Christi’s) are up. Chloe’s been dancing with that other studio and only showing up to ALDC for filming. The ones who have been consistently with Abby are Maddie, Mackenzie, and Nia — then a bit less consistently Kendall.

I am so finished with Dance Moms. Chloe and Nia have been treated very badly. Chloe’s mom acts like a raving maniac and should try to be more like Holly, who is a real lady. Melissa is dishonest and Maddie is starting to act like a little diva. Jill is also a manipulator. If the mothers would just act like their daughters aren’t fulfilling their own dreams, the dancers would probably do better. These are little girls whose parents are acting like biting, scratching, terrible cats. Cathy is worse than a child. She could also stand to lose a few pounds before she comments on the others. Why can’t she keep a choreographer? Abbey has really dropped low in my estimation. Lifetime, cancel this program. It’s a shameful example of child abuse.

I don’t know why these mothers would allow their children to be damaged psychologically like this. She hates kids, with the obvious and cruel exception being her ‘flavor of the month’ favorite. She discards those little ones like so much trash. I don’t care how good Abby is, she pits one child against another, tears the kids down, insults their parents in front of them and generally makes them feel like shit. Thank God Abby doesn’t have any kids of her own. They would end up hating her guts. Her idea of how to encourage and build winners is so f****ed up. Even if it works, how could anyone think what is done to those beautiful and gifted little girls is OK?

It is now 4 seasons later and the producers now just show us the dance teacher who thinks she is gods gift to hollywood and all things dance. Christy is right, those 5 little girls made her. I am so happy that I’m not the only person that took issue with Nia literally being the “dark” and evil force in the dance. Also, that last episode was it for me. I mean, it is unconscionable for me to continue to take part in a show that considers child abuse entertainment. I can not support a grown woman who openly maligns and degrades a little girl. I am a dance instructor, and while I am a strict teacher, I would never belittle a child because number one, that’s counter-productive, and two, it’s NOT MY CHILD. Abby malevolence is particularly noticeable if you stick around and watch Kim of Queens, with pageant coach Kim Gravel who makes it her mission to use pageant competition as a way of building girls up! People talk about Toddlers and Tiaras. Dance Moms is far worse.

Time – yes DM has reached the point in the show where the team is breaking up – it has been fun watching the growth but life goes on and each dancer must decide what is next in their life – in addition some of the girls would be too old for the junior team

Moms – I want to give some of my opinion regarding the moms – I have been a youth coach for 15 years at the local, state, and national level – the higher the level the most focus on winning than watching a team grow – you pick the kids who have the best physical skills and/or learned skills

Kelly – my heart goes out to her as she is wonders around in circles – if winning or being the best is not your goal than just leave the team and dance at a different level – the past is made of great memories of development and teamwork but at 12-14 individual preference take over – stop with the jealousy and leave other moms along

Christi – a sad, sad woman who is harming her daughter in the long run – jealous of the attributes of other more successful dancers she avoids avoid the skills were Chloe needs to improve – NOTE TO CHLOE’s FANS: I love to watch Chloe dance – she is graceful and her body shows her emotions BUT her facial expressions (except for a 2-3 week period when she WON) need improvement, she has minimal acro skills and cannot do some of the higher risk move – So what road does Christi take – the kids made Abby and Abby is all about the money – answer: Abby has a track record prior to the current group of kids, she is the creator of the TV show, yes some fans are connected to the kids but they can also connect to the next group (I loved Sophia, Kalani, and Asia as examples) of kids – and EVERYONE has the right to earn money based on their exportease

If Christi/Kelly feels that their children are not getting value for their time/expense than LEAVE and seek other opportunities!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will miss Christi because she had get humorous comments during the show.

Enough for now – I will try and do Holly (yeah), pushy Jill, and Melissa in the future.

I would like to know why people don’t say more offensive fat comments to Abby. All of the moms look nice and healthy for the most part, (the kids are unbelievable looking) and Abby is a srsly obese troll. I just always wonder why its so rare a jab when she rants and raves such ugliness to people around her. It’s not like this group of adults are above hitting below the belt or making personal attacks.
