I went through a Chelsea Handler phase a few years ago. Then I took her book on vacation to Saint Lucia for my trashy beach read and HATED it. And just like that I was over her. But this clip of seriously a boat ton of people singing her off the show is great. Leann Rimes at the end having issues with everyone being off key was funny.
Can totally relate. Was really into her say 5 years ago, then there was a shift in humor and she just was not as funny. It went from roll on floor hilarious to meh.
I thought she was funny when she first started the show. Actually, many of my friends called to say I have a long lost sister no one told me about as I am just an sarcastic and obnoxious. Then she got mean instead of funny. She crossed a line and never came back to the other side.
Chelsea is very rarely funny these days. Your book review, Tamara, will make me avoid it like the plague should I encounter it at a yard sale, even in the freebie box. Thanks for the heads-up and the video.
looks like fifty had problems reading the teleprompter.
He has problems stringing a sentence together even if you gave him verbs, noun, conjunctions and a pronoun to use. And he had the audacity to call out Floyd Mayweather for his reading skills! Just proves you don’t have to be book smart to make money. What a tool! He and Chelsea must have just screwed, no talking. She is alleged to be a generous boss and friend.
alleged is the operative word
I found her talk show kind of boring, but I loved After Lately. I wish that would continue. That was great, thanks for sharing TT.
I LOVED after lately too!! couldn’t wait for another episode to air. but yeah, I never could get on board with the talk show either. every time I gave it a try, I never could understand why people were actually laughing.
Exactly, GirlFromKY. The talk show wasn’t funny or entertaining. I never understood why the comedian regulars were so hilarious on After Lately, but totally depressing and unfunny on the panels.
I went through a similar thing. First I loved her, then I started doubting her character. Something about her I find insincere now, big ego stuff got the best of her.
I felt that around the time she was working on After Lately (which I loved) and she broke up with the E! executive that she was starting to phone it in and couldn’t wait for her contract to expire. So the show suffered for it. Still I love her sense of humour.
Which book did you hate? I loved the first one and liked her briefly. Then I didn’t like the second book and started hating her persona. I’ve heard things about her and how she hot where she is and how she treats other people who are actually talented an decided she is a useless cunt.
The second book was about her trip to Africa, right? Yeah, that one was boring and I didn’t finish it. I liked “Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea” and I found her entertaining until she started spending all of her time promoting that unfunny gaggle of comedians she keeps around.
i consider myself funny, was even told a few weeks ago i am saturday night life funny…..and i never laughed at her, once i went he he but it wasn’t even a real he he
Um…I assure you: you are not funny.
Here’s your big chance Shari ! Prove the ever right teecee wrong by doing something funny besides looking.
you gotta no me, i am hilarious really, i am …really…my one friend said i am funny but not sat night live funny…but still funny!
Alright already. If you can make yourself laugh, that’s the greatest gift in the world, Shari. Just be ever so careful not to burst out laughing from funny thoughts you may have conjured up for yourself. That’s definitely a big no-no if you’re not a hermit or inmate or Californian from San Francisco.
since I AM a hermit, that is good information to know. I crack myself up a lot. I also have arguments with my dog.
My therapist says I am just fine, thank you very much. 🙂

I heard she is a horrible person, and treats people like shit.
Cute video! Those were an amazing group of people on the stage…wow.
I liked her at the beginning and then her humor changed and I stopped watching. Ive also heard that she is a great boss and friend…
I think it was Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang. It was the one about her vagina.

They were all about her vagina…
Well, they say to write about what you know…
I enjoyed how she gave other comedians a platform and promoted whatever her guests brought.
I was great seeing a woman have her own late night show.
WTG Chelsea!!
I think she’s suddenly aged & agree she’s not that funny any more.
I thought the video was was good with the whole “We are the world” thing. Sounds like most of us went through this phase. I really liked “Lies Chelsea Told Me”, it was hella funny! I wanted to check out her latest, “Uganda Be Kidding Me” , did it suck? I had enjoyed her since of humor, mine is pretty out there. But at a point, we stopped DVR’ing her and moved on.
Ps, is it ok to site book titles in comments? I don’t remember reading that in the commenting rules. I try and stay highly medicated, so I read rules often!
Of course! Hope you are feeling better.
