CNN is reporting that a 23 year old black male was shot and killed by St. Louis County police today. The male entered a convenience store and took two drinks and left without paying. He later came back for some muffins. Again left without paying. The police arrived at the scene and found the guy who pulled a knife out of their pants. The man was told to drop the knife and began behaving “erratically” he started yelling for the cops to shoot him and they did. It is possible the person was mentally ill. Protests and riots have both already started.
78 people were arrested last night. The grand jury should be reviewing the Mike Brown case very soon. There is now a call for the prosecutor to recuse himself because his father was killed in the line of duty by a black male several years ago and cannot be impartial.
I am starting a new post because the old one has so many comments they are not nesting properly. So now you have a fresh page.
Feel free to update with facts and opinions!
Good. One more thug down.
And go ahead, call me racist. I don’t care. I posted my view on Twitter before I knew what color this thug was. Because “thuggery” is not limited by race.
I care about both sides. If you think that is racist, then you’d better look in the mirror.
He was a human. Probably mentally ill. You are happy over his death. I really find that incomprehensible.
I don’t give a flying fuck what you think of me. Move along.
You are an idiot.
@eel, in my option it’s a tragedy all around for officers involved in a shooting and those allegedly perpetuating a crime, while I haven’t seen any biased..chuckles… media reprints as of yet, I wasn’t there to see what happened. Were you?
@eel, typo…sorry! Opinion…whoops
Neither of us were, Katherine
Right.
another one bites the dust? must be that target they draw attention to. was this just another good boy who never did nothin?
Do you know for a fact that he was mentally ill? How do you know he wasn’t robbing the convenience store (more than once) to see what the cops would do to him? How do you know he wasn’t an addict?
And before you get any kind of huffy with me, I give less of a flying fuck (of what you think of me) than Cat does.
I agree….eel. Weird. I’ve never agreed with an eel before in my life. lol. go figure….A first!
if he was mentally ill, where was his custodian?
In the gym covering vomit with woodchips and counting the thousand keys on his giant key ring like the rest of the custodians.
Ha ha ha teecee found this custodian you’re looking for!
Why are you posting on this site. There is a site for supporting the murderous cop. If you think this man who sounds mentally ill was a thug who should be killed, then you have little in common with most of us who love Tamara
Because I have the right to freedom of speech, just like you and the protesters do. Anything else?
@anna, frankly have you read the majority of comments here? There has been both sides presented debated and stated here over the last several days. TT’s site I enjoy (as a bravo fan initially) because it allows everyone the freedom to express our individual opinions, no more, no less.
I am not happy about this young man’s death but calling the police officer who was doing his job a murderer is insane. Are you not reading the reports where he punched the officer in the face and then charged the officer. At a minimum wait for all the evidence to come in before passing judgement on a man doing his job, I truly wish the police could ignore 911 calls from people who pass judgement, such a you do. Maybe you could see how hard their job is and how unsafe your life would be without these men who put their lives on the line every day.
It is called suicide by cop.
“Murderous cop” so you, Anna, know something we don’t? I am pretty sure that a criminal was killed by a cop. I am pretty sure that the “murderous cop” didn’t wake up and decide to kill someone today just like it am pretty sure Michael Brown didn’t wake up and decide to rob a store and die today! Why don’t you go away…..there are other sites for people like you.
Don’t claim you know what people on this site think! I’ve been reading comments all across the spectrum. Maybe they’re posting on this site because TT said, “Feel free to update with facts AND OPINIONS!”
Jesus, condescending much?
I agree! Cat is horrible for not having the same opinion as you! You tell her! I’m so glad you are here, Anna, to sort this out. It’s a travesty.
I don’t know how you could all be so MEAN to me! I’m going to have to run away crying now. “Boo-hoo-hoo!”
And, because of YOU, I will NEVER come back here again! (Except maybe to post another dozen comments or so.) 😀
This man was mentally Ill and probably homeless. We have a lot of people in the US that are mentally and emotionally unstable.
Did the cop know any of this when confronted my a man wielding a knife? Should the cop allow himself to be stabbed first and ask questions later? It’s a tough call and life-changing decisions happen in an instant.
where was his custodian then?
Like Cat.
@Ooopsi: Why in the world do you keep asking “where was his custodian?”
Wake up call: we have a HUGE number of mentally ill people in this country and a very small portion get the resources t get need. As for a “custodian”? You’re really uninformed about mental illness. There isn’t just a warehouse of “custodians” waiting to be handed out to every single mentally ill person. In fact, that question, especially asked repeatedly, is so ignorant I can’t give more of my brain power to trying to explain this to you.
I’m not mentally unstable. I’m unique. You WISH you could be like me.
#Lesigh This is America…We don’t kill people for shoplifting in this country…At least we don’t kill white people for shop lifting in this country. I.e Winnona Ryder…I’m sure you’re not racist just really ignorant…
she wasnt weilding a weapo either and who says he was mentally ill ,the ppl on this site its not in yhe article

Stop with your racist bullshit!! He was shot for shoplifting, doesn’t matter if he was white, black, green or blue. He was shot for threatening a person’s life and gave them probably cause to believe he would severely injure or kill them. And comparing a thug to ryder is like comparing Apples to oranges. You have now entered the top 10 cunt satchels of the week with your anti white rhetoric.
Fun fact of the day- 2005 a “kid” named Michael Brown was killed by a cop, he was unarmed, he was white….the difference?
Uncle Ruckus?
From what I heard and read he ran towards the officers with the knife and was threatening to kill them when they shot. Multiple witnesses were calling it a clear suicide by cop and justified.
I’m almost afraid to leave the “safe” confines of work to go home tonight.
I really feel for the good citizens there. I pray this will all be resolved soon, and you can all get back to normal. Please be safe.
Thanks Cat <3
What happened to talking to the subject? I have an awful suspicion “diminished capacity” is being serially missed by police and courts. Doctors can be too tactful and self-serving to call it out to the family.
23 yrs old. 2 drinks and a muffin? A young man died for something I can buy everyday. The problem lies deeper than what we see. We need to fix this country as a whole.
Yeah!! Fre drinks and muffins for everyone! That should fix it.
Mmmmcranberrywalnutmmmmm
I don’t know. Maybe he WANTED to commit suicide. Have you ever gotten a muffin from a convenience store? You’d be better off eating a rock.
Oh and just an FYI the funeral for Michael Brown will be next Monday the 25th
Send cigars in lieu of flowers.
cohibas 🙂
@frappe & Steve LAMO
@Frappe-when i red your cohiba last night it made me snort my capt morgan. it burned but i laughed
@Steve. You dare to speak the words Captain Morgan and Cohiba in the same breath?? Are you some sort of construction worker? (Said in the most peckish voice of Terry Dubrow) 😉
all my life, for a long time the most hated construction worker, hwy dept
AAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH.
does the first amendment come ahead of the safety of the people?
i’m not in ferguson, but I can only imagine what the owners of the businesses that are being looted and burned down are feeling.
does the right to protest and first amendment trump the curfew imposed to protect these people from themselves?
I am Nigerian-American by the way, for what it’s worth to this discourse.
I agree.
Eric Holder can now save money by visiting and investigating both Ferguson and St. Loius at one time. Let’s see, how will the media caption this: Unarmed black man killed by white cops over a muffin. I mean, can’t a black man get a muffin without being executed?
Unarmed??? You need to educate yourself on the facts. God Bless the Fergurson Police and their families. The 54 police have to go out each day and face irrational people and this shooting will change that police officers life forever. What would people say if the officer was to afraid of public opinion to shoot the guy and he stabbed a innocent bystander? This is a no win situation for the police.
Police officers have an old saying; ‘I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by six.’ “
errmm…the reports said he was rushing towards the cops with a knife…the man sounds like he might have been mentally handicapped and I think they should have shot to maim/disarm, not kill, since he had a knife and might not have been able to get them.
he wasn’t out buying muffins and then got shot.
sigh.
i just don’t know…i just don’t.
The myth of shooting to maim is ridiculous! When someone is threatening your life, you should NEVER try to just maim them as that is not a guarantee that the imposing threat will stop. If a bear attacks you, are you just going to cut off its paw in hopes that it was enough?? Hell no you wouldn’t, you would kill the bear. No different in regards to the threat of your life.
Unarmed? And by “get”, do you mean use an knife to steal? Race not an issue here, or in Brown case.
“a” knife…
It has been made to be about race. No news on cop shootings of Caucasians or Asians, Hispanics, Martians… Where is the outrage about those?
Where is the outrage or rioting when one black kills another black? Or white on white, or asian to asian and so on? All races have run-ins with the law. Some end in death, some don’t. But don’t expect a hands-off approach just because you are of a certain race.
Getting shot isn’t restricted to race.
What is frightening is that cops (of all races) will be afraid to defend themselves, make arrests, ask people to move off the road, do traffic stops, respond to 911 calls…
To everyone: I was being sarcastic. The guy was armed and police were doing their job. Too bad these guys don’t have tasers — it would really save a lot of lives & heartache for all around.
sounds like suicide by cop. It is really disturbing that so choose that route but I rather that then them jumping in front of the train and ruining my commute.
Really sad people are comparing this case to the Brown case.
Yes this happened in St Louis City but it occurred less than 5 miles away from Ferguson.
Suicide by cop is a true phenomenon. Sounds like he was also engaging in the copy cat phenomenon, too, right? After all, if he was contemplating ending his life, seemed kind of brilliant to exit now and emerge a martyr, like Mike Brown. These ignorant people who are claiming to be oppressed by the police because of their color are choosing to protest against the police by commiting crimes and violence. Don’t they see how idiotic that is and how it will just deepen the divide. And for the record, I am not a bigot. I am a stereotyper. Every single person of one race is not grouped as a whole in my world, but every single race has certain people that perpetuate a stereotype.
According to this logic……no one is really oppressed by the police? Are they just making it up?
If indeed they feel they are, in fact, suffering from oppression by the police, claiming they are being singled out as criminals, why on earth would they respond by looting, stealing, burning and violence? It is so uncivilized, makes those who participate look like animals, and that behavior does not add to the solution. How on earth does stealing from a store because you feel like the police or Caucasians are picking on you add to a peaceful resolution or a truce of any kind?
It doesn’t. And a good amount of those who are looting, are taking advantage and not in fact protesting anything. But it does not mean there is not a problem buried in this insanity. Some don’t know what an appropriate outlet for their anger is and they lash out. I am Caucasian and have definitely seen oppression by the police against blacks. DWB does exist in the world even though people want to believe it doesn’t .
They need to ban any more protest. This getting crazy. The kids can’t even start school.
Who robs a store and comes back for a MUFFIN? Sounds like a nutjob.
My Brother said Mike was wearing flip flops when he robbed the store. Who robs a store wearing flip flops.
Anyway I not watching this crap any more. Thanks for update
Where the hell is Obama with all of this? He should have been there within the hour of the riots starting to start investigating to prevent these fed up people from such demonstration because they don’t trust their police. This guy seemed to want to make a statement about what he believed police were like and the police definitely confirmed their negative light.
This man had family and to say “good riddance” not knowing the demons he was fighting, and the family who loved him, left behind, is truly another mark against the good of humanity. If you don’t have anything nice to say keep it to your self.
Um….. This is not really something a president typically gets involved in. This is a “local matter”
The President probably can’t “investigate” every story that takes over the news (until the next one comes along) .
And who are you to tell people what they should and should not say?
Yeah, we are just way too mean to the thugs in this world. We need to unlock the cages, give Charles Manson a cookie and a pat on the head, tell him we are all sorry, and send him on his way. I’m sure he will be grateful for the kind gesture.
I backed out of the Michael Brown conversation early. I saw where it was headed and I am not willing to debate over it. With that said, I just wanted to remind many of you that these thugs whose deaths you’re celebrating were living, breathing human beings. Someone, somewhere loved them and they are now mourning the loss of them.
I am not a oppressed minority, living below the poverty line with an educational system that failed me and no job prospects other than McDonalds or dealing drugs on the corner. I was not raised in an abusive home or in foster care. I grew up with positive role models.
Police officers should be able to patrol and protect without the fear of dying because they are out gunned and out numbered. The looting and rioting that is going on is wrong and I hope it ends soon, for everyone’s sake.
Nobody should live in fear because of their skin color.
This is not just about Michael Brown. There is a system in place that is broken. Too many people have died over nothing. A minorities life should be just as important as a white persons.
Go ahead and bash me for stating my rambling opinion. I will not celebrate anyone’s death. What’s happening everywhere, not just in Ferguson, is a tragedy.
People are responsible for their own actions; has nothing to do with skin color. If someone is acting like a rabid asshole, he or she will often suffer the consequences of said rabid asshole-dom. It’s that simple.
if you would like to make it about race and a system that has failed them, then please do. but look at the broken way they live, 75% of their children are fatherless, and most are raised on welfare. they have failed themselves, why is it MY issue to solve for them? i was raised by a single mother who was on welfare and went through men like socks and i am a hard working married mom of two, and yes my husband is their father. they need to look within their own community to find the solutions adn stop blaming. yes, there are racist jerks out there, hey i am a bit on the chunky side and people have issues with that and talk smack and i am also native american… so i am in some way a minority and i refuse to claim any victim status.
@Brillke: other than the annoying “holier than thou” tone of your comment, the entire ramble was basically void of any substance. Sorry, but it’s like you pulled so many of the most cliched statements and put them into one big monologue.
Great, you had a wonderful upbringing, you have all these opinions on what people should and shouldn’t do, think, or feel, what’s “right” and what’s “wrong”, and you (believe that you) pretty much nailed every problem in society.
So what’s the solution? Just follow your example?
Because you helpfully informed us that you’re “not willing to debate over it”.
I call BS again. Yes I am white. But I lived in the projects of Winston Salem NC, I was beat up because I was 1 of 2 white people at the school. I grew up being molested, I was shot, stabbed, beaten by my own “family”. Was in and out of foster care and moved from NC to KY. Where I eventually became ward of the state after my “mother” gave up her rights so that my “stepfather” didn’t spend years in prison for beating me so bad my jaw was wired shut. I grew up around drugs, prostitues, alcoholics and was so poor I had holes in my shoes. My 3 siblings and I slept in the floor and only had enough clothes to fill 2 grocery bags between the 4 of us. I had as hard a childhood one can imagine. But I ALWAYS knew right from wrong and the importance of education. I won a presidential academic achievement awards, graduated on the honor roll. Never been arrested, or done any drugs (short of trying pot as a teenager once). I started working at 15 to support myself and my siblings. I turned 18 and gained custody of my siblings and worked 3 jobs to provide for us. Went into law enforcement field and never looked back. The excuse of poverty, bad childhood , etc is just that an EXCUSE. Yes some people don’t have it easy, they are treated unfairly or do not get opportunities that others might. But YOU decide how YOUR life goes. You are responsible for your actions and no one else. This sense of entitlement because of race, class, religion is absurd. If you want things to change, then YOU have to change. Period.
@mrsgsp: wow! Impressive. And where are the people with all the smart comebacks now? Guess it’s hard to argue with someone who has walked the walk.
Well said, mrsgsp.
Thank you. I have found that a lot of people live in a bubble and when they hear people that do not want to take responsibility because of a bad childhood, or less education blah blah. That they have to expose their bleeding hearts and stand up for the injustice of the world. But have zero knowledge of how the world really is. And when I tell them this they say “you don’t know what they went through”. When I explain to them that I do and how, I get the “well you were one of the few”. No bitch, I was one of the few that decided to change my life from the cycle I was born in. Big difference! There is not one single person that was born inthe last 30 years at least that did not have access to some type of education, free handouts like welfare, HUD housing etc. As an adult I have never received any benefits, wic, hell I can’t even get a free 99¢ burger voucher from McDonald’s lol. I have bills like everyone else but the TRUTH is I have more bills than those on benefits, I have four children, pay out the ass for insurance that covers a 1/4th of what they get for free, mortgage payment, groceries, clothes, electricity etc. I grew up on welfare and charity handouts. Let me tell you,I have less money now than I did then, I have less opportunities to splurge on frivolous items because all my money goes to survival and savings for shit that will eventually tear up. Haha. So really these “underprivileged” citizens have it quite easier. My “mother” lives in a home for free, gets food stamps(no children), free medical care, help with utilities, free phone, free clothes, etc. So please tell me why you getting more opportunities than middle class citizens make it OK for you to act out?? Sorry, this entitlement crap and woe is me mentality gets me fired up!!
Thank you for sharing. You’re a strong woman. You were a strong child. Inspiring.
I really really want a list of all these innocent good hearted black people that the police are randomly shooting. Since when it happens it is almost always national news, besides the two recent St. Louis cases and the fat fuck who expired in NYC recently, nothing is coming to mind.
Oh and please to tell me how public schools have been “failing” kids in the past 20-30 years. Because in that time, public schools have been fortified to give ever kid an education, more so if they have learning or behaviour issues. They even give free breakfast and lunch to the kids in my city over the summer. The local cable co gives them free internet. While I’m required to send supplies and pay for trips, underprivileged kids are not. Testing has been altered about ten times because it’s deemed unfair.
How are kids being neglected? Should someone else be learning for them to. Because everything else is covered. They just need to show up on the free, door to door government sponsored transportation.
Forget the cops. What about the innocent young white men who are unarmed and brutally murdered by young black men just for a few bucks?
Actually, more important is the huge number of black men killed or injured by other black men. That is the statistic that should really have people up in arms, figuratively. It’s obscene. But it continues to go unaddressed by any community.
True.
Don’t forget free cell phones!
The government provides cell phones to our children at school Shellbelle?
There have been 67 officers killed this year alone. There are roughly 900,000 officers in the US, and less than 700 police related shootings that causes death every year. That is a miniscule amount compared to the number of officers. Most “black police shootings” happen in LA, New York, The Bronx, Chicago, etc. Most of the cities are predominantly black. Blacks are the majority in New york City. So common sense says that more black people will be arrested in New York city than any other race, same things as the shootings. There are gangs with every race, but once again black gangs are predominant in the US to any other race gang. Once again, common sense says deaths of thugs in these areas are going to be predominantly black because of the there are more. People can’t pick and choose part of the facts and leave out the rest for their arguments.
So it’s being reported here in safe Australia that the guy declared that he wanted the police to shoot him dead. All I can say is what a selfish dick. I’m sure whenever the police must take a life it takes a huge mental toll on them and their family. If you really want to suicide just take some pills. Why do all these suicidal people prefer to risk or impact the lives of others ‘on their way out’. It’s time you get your shit together guys.
“safe Australia?” Is that different from Australia? How so?

I think i’d rather take my chances with a thug than with a humongous spider. Ick.
Actually it’s the tiny ones which are the worst! Red backs and black widows. Some of the smaller breeds but way more dangerous. The Huntsman spider is larger but not toxic enough to kill multiple people. A bite from it is just red and painful. I have a huge gun phobia so I’d rather deal with a spider in the same room as me over a loaded handgun. Seeing them make me cringe.

Wow I am repulsed by some of the comments here. To answer your question Tamara, I have only heard that Holder got the third autopsy report today, another man was shot and Officer Wilson suffered an injury to his eye socket during the Brown incident.
its just gallows humor

Are you single? It’s refreshing to see people who don’t clasp their pearls over everything in this day and age.
yes i am
Even with officer Wilson’s injury to the orbital bone which was probably quite painful and could have possibly caused double vision in that eye, he was able to maintain composure to hit his target with most of his shots. That officer had to be seriously hurting and in a state of fear of Brown being successful in removing his weapon.

The St Louis county prosecutor’s father was killed when the prosecutor was still a child. He’s been in office for 14 years, and is highly regarded by the people who have to defend clients in his jurisdiction.
The man shot today was in St. Louis city. Here’s the thing, the boundaries of the city of St Louis are really small. Unlike other cities that sprawl, St. Louis never went the annexing route, so the small actual city is surrounded by many separate communities that comprise “the county”. These municipalities have their own police forces. Unincorporated areas are served by St. Louis county police, essentially “the sheriff”.
I hope this investigation is fast and thorough, the people here can’t take much more of this.

give the peaceful protesters all the coverage, and when the trouble begins take the tv out. dont reward the bad behavior with the attn. they allready go way beyond peaceful at night. but that dont draw ratings
I switch the news channels I watch, so I have a better perspective and there is one particular tool Toure….he chastised Don Lemon and said that essentially Don Lemon was the same as Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Rielly. Lemon had commented that the black community needs to take some responsibility for the black on black violence. I think Toure and Limbaugh are different sides of the same coin. This might explain why Don Lemon was such a jerk in this Ferguson nightmare.

Don Lemon had the gall to allege he was manhandled by the cops. Does he forget there was a camera pointed at him and a microphone in his hand when the cop told them to move because bullets were fired and he said he’d ask his producer if he should follow the order. Unbelievable.
Yep!

Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Mo., police officer whose fatal shooting of Michael Brown touched off more than a week of demonstrations, suffered severe facial injuries, including an orbital (eye socket) fracture, and was nearly beaten unconscious by Brown moments before firing his gun, a source close to the department’s top brass told FoxNews.com .
“The Assistant (Police) Chief took him to the hospital, his face all swollen on one side,” said the insider. “He was beaten very severely.”

According to the well-placed source, Wilson was coming off another case in the neighborhood on Aug. 9 when he ordered Michael Brown and his friend Dorain Johnson to stop walking in the middle of the road because they were obstructing traffic. However, the confrontation quickly escalated into physical violence, the source said..
“They ignored him and the officer started to get out of the car to tell them to move,” the source said. “They shoved him right back in, that’s when Michael Brown leans in and starts beating Officer Wilson in the head and the face.
The source claims that there is “solid proof” that there was a struggle between Brown and Wilson for the policeman’s firearm, resulting in the gun going off – although it still remains unclear at this stage who pulled the trigger. Brown started to walk away according to the account, prompting Wilson to draw his gun and order him to freeze. Brown, the source said, raised his hands in the air, and turned around saying, “What, you’re going to shoot me?”
At that point, the source told FoxNews.com, the 6 foot, 4 inch, 292-pound Brown charged Wilson, prompting the officer to fire at least six shots at him, including the fatal bullet that penetrated the top of Brown’s skull, according to an independent autopsy conducted at the request of Brown’s family.
Wilson suffered a fractured eye socket in the fracas, and was left dazed by the initial confrontation, the source said. He is now “traumatized, scared for his life and his family, injured and terrified” that a grand jury, which began hearing evidence on Wednesday, will “make some kind of example out of him,” the source said.

I had read that the prosecutoe was being looked into because he had a tendency to side with police over criminals. Clearly whoever wrote THAT story needs to Google the definition of “prosecutor”. That being said, this is just not a clear cut black or white case and I truly hope it is resolved peacefully. And soon.
It’s a tragedy how much the news media is escalating this situation. They’re loving every minute. Blood-sucking parasites. The only media person I’ve ever heard express any recognition about this was last night, when Shepard Smith came right out and said on air that the situation would undoubtedly improve if the news media got OUT.
So true, OMG I hate Don Lemon right now
I just went back and looked up Don Lemon/Toure and found something called Madame Noire which said the basically his gay factor had worn off and the black community had lost respect for him in 2013. Guess he is trying to earn his black status card for 2014. Very sad
It was nice overnight to actually see CNN move on. A little. Go Mo’ne! She is bad ass!!
@her daughter, is that the girl with the 70mph fastball that just pitched a no hitter?
Yes Steve!! She is Amazeballs! Watched her a little over the weekend also. Mo’ne is something else!!! Such a humble sweet girl in the interviews, always references her “Team” when only asked about herself. Every one should know this team! #GirlPower
It masked me sad that we are focusing on all our differences in this country and not what is great about it. Yeah, there are always issues. But it is the best system
To continue…(accidentally hit post), I have been watching the news regarding Isis and those people scare the holy crap out of me. The are killing hundreds of people just because of their religion. All I can think is that the Yadizi would love to live in a country with a bill of rights—especially a first and given their current predictament a second admendment. I have to wonder. If a Yadizi was explained what was going on in ferguson, what would be their reaction.
I guess my point is that yes. Things can be improved on, but everyone should embrace this blessing of being born free and American. Because this freedom that we are taking for granted is not free. There are many in the world that would like to take it away from us.
i could never understand forcing your religon on others. most people i am glad have a different religon so i dont have to spend eternity with them. we trained the isis assholes, the same with osama and saddam hussien
Has anyone commented on the number of white demonstrators? Ferguson isn’t the “hood”. It’s well integrated. Probably 60/40 black/white or thereabouts. The town I live in was sued by the Justice Department for not having enough black cops. The problem was rectified with great difficulty. Lack of qualified applicants being the biggest roadblock.
I just keep thinking of that scene in Family Vacation where Sparky takes the wrong turn in St Louis, stops to ask for directions and the kids ask the locals if they know the Commodores, while they spray paint “honky lips” on the family Truckster.
Lol, I’m losing it.
ah the family truckster, if you hate it now wait til you drive it
OMG, this is going on too long. The last thing that black people need to be doing right now is standing around looking irrelevant and unproductive to society. The real protest should be why doesn’t anyone out there standing for 40 days and 40 nites appear to have a job important enough for them to be missed. They should have wrapped this up a few days ago when that THUG stole out of the store. People of all races are just shaking their head because we all know that black people have PLENTY of reasons to protest so that others can support them, but thiis Michael Brown protest is ridiculous. A THUGH that is going around knocking out people and fighting police are the type of peope the police are TRAINED to klll, and they should so that I dont get knocked out by someone like this roaming around. Hell, if you do not want a dead black/white/whatdahell ever boy then train your SONS because the police have trained their own to make it home that night and we should train our sons the same way. I have grown sons. You do not fight with the police. I meant re
‘Cause they tuk our jurbz’. On a serious note hopefully there is a resolution soon.
its going to be worse when the shooting is called justified.
@Steve..yeah..the tanks will roll over them and we will return back to usual..point of protest for nothing as always. Al & Jessie..ah yeah, thats progress right there. they always make a difference. Black people need to take several seats right now because standing behind thugs just set up back a few notches..those food stamp recipients out there protesting do not make a difference..the rest of the blacks are opportunists such as JessieAL..all emotional and non-intellectual protests does nothing. He fought the police and he shot his ass period, justified…holding up the class people catch up.
Agree Simone, this is not the situation to point out police misconduct. The one witness who is recorded the actions of the officer after the shooting. She is describing Wilson as an individual who is in disbelief, shock; not a cop looking to gun down a black teenager.
I think if I was continually profiled n abused I would want to catch things on fire too or loot! Uhmmm. but since my Parents taught me not to steal….looting is out….and I’m afraid of fire…bc I wear too much hairspray!…… that and it would probably melt my makeup n my acrylics too….so the fire thing is def out….I could yell and hold a sign n march in the shade tho! I’m a big baby n hate violence….so I guess I could yell from my living room at the Tv….while eating lite buttered popcorn! 😉
All I can say, Jen, is trade in those acrylics for gels (shellac). You’ll thank me later! (They may melt, too, though…)
I am surprised they stepped away from the Malaysian airline crash. It has been Malaysian Air Network forever.
Jen….. You are hilarious. Thanks for the laugh.
Before u burn me at the stake…for being silly. Sorry…its been days of this horrifix crap n I’ve already cried real tears. None of it makes sense….and its just awful. So, I thought by being silly we could crack a small smile. I know its important and horrible for all effected. It just seems never ending though 🙁
no worries Jen after so many days of this i chalked it up to gallows humor, stress relief.
My best friend since we were college freshmen is an academic forensic pathologist, she has never worked in a private capacity. Usually, she looks as it as science, providing the best answers possible. Sometimes, it just breaks her down. She did an autopsy on a child who was shot because her mother and uncle had a fight over milk. She was jso upset and angry, at first i thought she wanted reason, as to how this was posssible, she just got angrier. I asked if it was skim milk? She started to laugh and now that is our code…. It was a skim milk day. You have got to have the gallows humor to deal with that type of job. So humor in bad taste……Thank you.
This whole situation is incredibly frustrating. For me, last night was the worst…I found myself trying to explain to a couple of black friends that living a thug life will get a thug killed, and less than an hour later I was trying to get a white friend to understand that racism does indeed STILL exist in our nation. Afterwards, all I could do was cry. I feel as though folks have completely lost their damn minds…there is no sense of right or wrong for so many people…Anyway, last night I felt like the best thing that could happen is for the world to spontaneously combust…I wish I felt more hopeful but I don’t. Hah!! I was trying to cheer you up Jen, but I failed miserably, I’m sure. Just know, we are all frustrated and sad. Keep your chin up…
Well we have a decapitated American journalist now. Perhaps this will distract CNN for a bit.
That poor journalist was captured by Libyan extremists for awhile a few years back but released unharmed. He continued to work the frontline of Middle East conflict and was captured a couple years ago again in Syria.
ISIS just released a video of his beheading.
Happy Wednesday.

I agree TT and I think his beheading is where America’s outrage should be!!
This made me sick to my stomach. I believe ISIS has captured another journalist as well. Sometimes I just have to turn off the news and stick my head in the sand.
I got the humor…it made me giggle.
Mine was to Jen…WP is sling shooting my post’s still. Just wanted to make sure it was clear I’m not making light of your post TT. As I have read where my post’s have been landing…
Folks there is this thing called the 21 foot rule. If a person has a knife in his hands and another person has a police holstered gun, the person with the knife can actually move across that space and injure or kill the person with the gun before they can get the gun unholstered and shoot him. This has been verified. There are many variables to the rule. Some people are able to draw their weapons quicker than others of course. Some people with the knife wouldn’t move as fast as others but it can be done. Think about how fast people can run a 100 yard dash. These incidents happen quickly. The officer has to make sometimes split second decisions. This 23 year old man had a weapon, a knife. He was yelling and telling the police to kill him. He ran at them with the weapon in a offensive position or at least that was what was written in the news report. I know their weapons were drawn at this point, but they were also training not to shoot if he did not move toward them. He may have been mentally ill but if his intent was to kill an officer and it could have happened, what were they supposed to do? Let him kill someone else? My husband is a police officer and never has had to shoot anyone thank God. Has been in situations where it could have happened. He did use a tazer on a mentally ill person and the man just pulled the prongs off and kept going. Didn’t even phase him. These situations are the ones that good hard working police officers dread happening the most. They don’t want to have to live with the fact that they had to kill someone. I pray this madness ends soon for all concerned.
TT if the prosecutor recuses himself in the brown case due to his dads death, wouldnt that give every defense atty with a black client the same arguement there?
McCullough will not recuse himself, and yesterday the governor said that there was no reason he would need to. Personally he’s an @sshole, but he is a great prosecuting attorney.
Last night started out so well, I actually feel asleep around 1030 to the news showing how calm and peaceful everyone was. Then I wake up today to hear that of course around midnight people went crazy. People are screaming that last night the police overreacted just because a plastic bottle was thrown “near” them. Here’s the thing, IMO, the police are on edge. They have been working 12 hour shifts for the last 11 days. That’s 12 hours of being threatened, shot at, bricks thrown at you, etc. of course they are on edge. Maybe they did overreact, but they are tired of the same thing every night, tired of fearing from the constant death threats. Last night someone (or multiple people, idk) was throwing cups of URINE at the police. WHAT kind of sane, rational person does that? I read on Twitter that some of the officers with military backgrounds have stated they felt safer in the middle east, in the middle of a war, then they are currently feeling at home. I think that is very telling and sad.
I spoke with a colleague yesterday she is a home health nurse and has several clients in the Ferguson area. A few days ago she was out there in the middle of the day (11am) and because of all the street closures for the protesting, she ended up getting turned around a little lost. She drove down a street where they were “peacefully protesting” on the sidewalk (a group of around 20 people she said) and these “peaceful protesters” started throwing rocks, bottles, and bricks at her car. She has thousands of dollars worth of damage to her car just because she was driving in the wrong area.
cnn showed a clip of the governor saying they need a vigorous prosecution,
Of the protesters or rather the anarchists? Was he speaking of Darren Wilson?
he was speaking about wilson.
Yeah. According to CNN this morning, Nixon is basically offering Wilson up on a nice platter, because he wants to secure the black votes from St. Louis and Kansas City. I forgot the statistics they quoted, but they said part of the problem is the lack of black votes. If citizens in Ferguson were unhappy with the delay in “justice”, they should vote for those who will give them what they want.
Nixon is not talking about justice in this case. Only justice for Mike Brown. He’s already decided Wilson is guilty and should be given to the people as sacrifice.
That’s really sad and unacceptable for your colleague and her clients, among all others going through similar situations. Those I’m sure we haven’t been privy too. Other than what some of our posters have let us in on.
Second of all. THANK YOU for adding that these “harmless” water bottles have included urine in them. I’m sure LE is only seeing liquid flying at them in these “harmless” water bottles, as the keep being referred to.
I’ve also yet to here a Damn word about the guy with the white gloves on, who had the gallon jug of some sort red colored juice in it.
Yes I’m aware it could be anything. But usually and unfortunately you don’t run around with “juice” with white cloth gloves on. And it was peaceful protesters that were POINTING this out to officers and had him apprehended. Sorry for the long response.
@-Jaysmom. Once again, Thank You. In the wake of being called all kinds of fun names in the past 300 posts. Which I found those names entertainment as blanket statements to not only myself. And to not read all posts by everyone. Who also likes to post one way and then write a beautifully stated post. BUT I DIGRESS. LOL.
I love that about this blog. As I am someone who can compartmentalize all of that. Especially in the wake of these events. THANK YOU again. And wish ALL safety and calmed days and nights ahead. It’s been enlightening and educational to say the least.
And that is why people of all races are afraid of certain images of black people. I have no doubt that weren’t clean cut guys and now when this person encounters the same type of person , she will be afraid . And why shouldn’t she?
It was Women/Men/Essential Media/ Free lancers etc…I see your point. I would be.scared to death under her circumstances anyway anyhow! I can’t claim to know her colleagues perceptions, other than guessing confusion and scared beyond belief! As those would be mine. Ugh.
Also when portable bathrooms have been provided. Until 2 nights ago they were torn apart where Trapper was. Then made into a barricade by people who did not appear to be apart of peacefulness. Including the orange cones and the woman/lady who took the fallen street sign down. Then proceeded to stand in the middle of the road with it. I’M NOT GROUPING THIS PARTICULAR GROUP INTO EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE OUT THERE. It did appear to create another crowd of an extremely unhappy group. Inciting tear Gas and rubber bullets be thrown. This was when Trapper went into hero mode with the freelance photographer from NM who got it pretty bad. This was 2 nights ago. This was the same night that peaceful people out there were actually helping and or pointing out different sets of people/group’s to LE that were antagonist. This was all Live. Ps. Lemon and Trapper are trippin!
“Protests and riots have already started.” Why, of course.
I agree. The media, especially CNN, is making things worse. CNN has already linked Kansas City to Ferguson twice today. I don’t want the craziness coming here.
Maybe I should stock up on supplies, just in case……
By the way, it was reported on local news (Kansas City) today that someone was hit by a car and killed because they were walking down the FREEWAY. Actually, he was hit by several cars.
I guess roadkill is the new rage.
Oh, and I don’t think I believe the CNN report about a KCMO officer posting a fake comment about Mike Brown. Our cops are quite tight lipped, especially with ongoing cases.
Something is really fishy there.
We live in a tiny ass town. One that I’m still getting used to. Our LE is anything but “tight lipped”…we know everything. On the other hand, we also are involved in a lot of Sheriff/Search and Rescue events. Meetings every week. Our town newspaper is a joke. It’s a good ol ‘ boy town. And I’m an outsider. But it is a good town. With good people. And I would put my life in their hands, and have before.
The possibility of this fire becoming a spreading conflagration is very real, ecspecially in the South. This is where groups like ISIS threaten American freedoms most: not with imposition of religion but by causing fear and terror in our Homeland requiring Federal intervention in the way we live our free lives. Unfortunately, we are now faced with such imposition from within our own borders and from the energies of our own People. We face two fronts and I, myself, know which one frightens me more. United we stand…
Thanks for your continued diligence TT. I think you should create yet one more post with the info from Wilson’s alleged take on the shooting. You posted it above and it seems as though it was lost. Either that or there are posters still prying their feet out of their mouths. Peace!
I’ll take ya girly! LoL
I really am worried for everyone out there. Something is going to give.
NEW POST! Thanks Romen I did and there is some more new information.
