EPISODES
NEW YORK – July 31, 2014 – Bravo Media travels 10,000 miles to the land “Down Under” with the acquisition of “The Real Housewives of Melbourne,” which will air every Sunday at 12 PM ET/PT beginning on August 3 with two back-to-back episodes. The 12-episode series follows the lavish lives of six successful Melbourne socialites – Gina Liano, Andrea Moss, Chyka Keebaugh, Janet Roach, Lydia Schiavello and Jackie Gillies – as they live life on their own terms and enjoy the pampered and cultured lifestyle that the “world’s most liveable city” has to offer. The season concludes with a two-part reunion special hosted by famed Australian fashion designer, Alex Perry. “The Real Housewives of Melbourne” is produced by Matchbox Pictures, part of NBCUniversal International Television Production and distributed in the US by NBCUniversal Television & New Media Distribution. Foxtel recently announced it has commissioned a second season of the reality hit for Arena in Australia.
Whether they are established business women soaking-up the single life or married to some of the most established men in the city, these Australian bombshells will show no shortage of extravagance and high end drama. From glamorous cocktail parties to weekend getaways at exclusive resorts, sparks are sure to fly and the friendships and relationships are put to the ultimate test. Life is not one big beach party, however, as Janet adapts to the single life after divorcing her cheating husband and Gina struggles with a long distance relationship and a rumored affair.
Well, I guess I have something to recap during the day on Sunday now… Unless I forget. Or oversleep…. I love less blondes, less fake boobs, less botox, less collagen-injected lips. Plus, maybe they will have fancy accents and more civilized arguments. I am looking forward to this!
Who will watch with me?
For sure I will be watching…we need “new”..and compare of course. Wow, very cool.
I will also, maybe they are getting that people are willing to watch the other shows. I bet after they are done with the melbourne they will show Vancouver also. Heck it’s a way to get individuals to watch the network at 12 on sunday.
Me. I’ve grown a little sick of the US ladies for sure.
Count me in! I hope we find it to be refreshing!
Me..me..me..me! I’m in!
I’ll be watching. Not sure I’ll be able to watch during the day on Sunday but will certainly get to it the following day.
I’ve already seen it! Lots of drama and Botox everywhere. One of the ladies husbands is a plastic surgeon and she owns a large beauty complex.
I watched this online. Tamara you’ll live it! Gina Liano is fab! It’s brilliant
She is my favourite too.
She’s fabulous! Can’t stand the plastic surgeons wife. What an awful woman. Would love to see more of Ginas personal life in the next season, her with her sons and sisters. They all seem a hoot! I think Tamara is gonna either LOVE or HATE Jacqui.
Gina is like the Lisa Vanderpump of the show – the fan favourite breakout star. Also like Lisa she annoyingly plays coy about returning for another season but most likely will.
Count me in! Probably will have to catch it at a later time, but I’m sure I’ll give it a try 🙂
I will check it out for sure, especially since there was no mention of Americans as part of the cast.
I watched it when it was online I liked it, hope they all come back for season 2. These girls have true money and fabulous lives; however they are definitely mean girls. Can’t wait for you to recap. I find that watching housewives isn’t as fun when there is no one to comment with
Agree! My bf does NOT want to talk Housewives… sigh…
But I have you guys!
Who is your fav? I’m in love with Gina. Maybe it’s because she is a drag queen barrister, maybe it’s because she is orange. Either way I hope she comes back for season 2.
I wish they’d do Paris but I guess it would have to be subtitled…still they could do Americans IN Paris.
I just checked and it doesn’t show up in my dvr program menu. Scrolled to Sunday and there are two nice “To Be Announced” time slots where the show should be.
My program guide says that too but I programmed it to record anyway. I think my cable co is just slow to update. I hope I don’t need subtitles. Sometimes my ears take a while to catch on to accents, especially if they talk fast. The bios read like these women have serious money, not pretenders like many of our HW stars. I hope you Aussie guys comment here along with us, even though the series is over there. You probably can give us good insight.
At least they didn’t come to Melbourne, find some people with criminal backgrounds, rent them a cheap McMansion, pay them insane amounts of money to be mocked by the entire world, tell them they are rich now, and eventually release them back to your environment.

I’ll be watching and reading too!
I’ll be watching, for sure
I hope I like it. I wished I liked the Ladies of London but lost interest after 2 shows.
12 noon is a crazy time so I will not be viewing unless they do repeats at night.
Watched it already and saw one at a local event. It’s not more civilized unfortunately. No spoilers but a certain word used is a major story arc. Also when you see the wife who lives in Toorak who says it’s like Australia’s Beverly Hills, it’s not. She is an idiot.
Oh another thing, none of them really live in Melbourne CBD which is unfortunate, just in the surrounding suburbs. They should have included some of the women who live in my building. Believe me, the things they talk about in our gym is fascinating.
Please tell me they don’t show spiders on the show. Australia=all the deadly things, especially spiders.
You are safe. The most deadly thing on this show is Gina’s skin colour, Lydia’s obsession with sex and the cougar known as Janet.
I watched the first episode and was so ashamed that these women were representing my beautiful Melbourne that I had to turn off – but from all accounts from the local papers ect – It is true train wreck TV (please do let these women cloud your view of true Melburnians though 🙂 )
Don’t worry. We feel the same about the American shows. And dear Lord there are dozens of crap reality shows from Atlanta, my hometown. sigh.
Me!
Me too. I’ve a Aussie friend that I just emailed. She was a huge fan of Australian Big Brother so I hope she is in.
I watched this online and I thought it was very fun to watch and less dark and depressing than their American counterparts. Their accents are so over the top, there are many Kath and Kim moments which are adorable. If you enjoy RHO Melbourne, I would highly recommend RHO Vancouver.
As an Australian, let me say I have already seen this series. It made me embarrassed to be a Melbourne native.
Needless to say I loved it!
(Gina and Chyka were my faves)
You and everyone else. I’ve yet to meet a fan of Lydia, Jackie and Andrea. They are pretty annoying.
Me too. I think Chyka was the only one who didn’t bitch about any of the others and who came across as the nicest of them.
I have already seen the season and believe me these women are ridiculous. If you think Yolanda and Lisa are full of themselves wait till you meet 2 of these ladies.
Pretty hilarious but very very toxic and mean, be prepared :p
This show was such a load of crap compared to the American versions and is NOT a true depiction of us Aussies !!
Welcome to our world, Gayle. I’m from Atlanta. Imagine how I feel…
@TT~ I am right there with you. I hang my head in shame when the Atlanta season rolls around.
Hey, it could be worse. If they did a housewives show here in Kansas City, it would be just about as exciting as watching grass grow.
Totally in. You had me at “mean girls” and “uncivilized!” I’m wanting a visual of Muriel’s Wedding
Hey guys! first time poster, long time reader. I’m from Australia and having already seen this show, your guys are gonna love it!!
Love your work Tamara xx
I can’t wait. And I love my Aussies. I have a bunch of them. Clearly y’all have good taste in websites! xoxo
Hi Tamara as your number one Aussie fan…in answer to your questions…no, and no. I now understand why US fans get so irritated when the ladies are selected to represent cities…having grown up in Melbourne I’m not very sure that we would consider any of them “socialites”. One of them has the claim to fame is she (or her husband) owns a plane…does she have a job…?! Anyway enjoy (I guess)!
To be fair the only aussie socialites I know off the top of my head are Lara Bingle and Brynne Edelstein, and the majority of people can’t stand either of them. Both had reality shows too. 🙁
Don’t worry Melbornians (?) we won’t think these ladies represent your city anymore than we think Fosters is Australian for beer! I have to tell you though, these ladies look RICH like very Rich…the pauper of the group is the one married to a lowly Rock Star! Faults aside, orange skin…hideous hair…wearing enough make-up to make RuPaul say “Damn you better wipe!” these ladies have careers and maybe it is just the accent but they can actually communicate clearly…all “ingrediences” for a HW show of a different colour!
This may be spoilery so feel free to ignore.
Two of the ladies have careers. Gina the Barrister/lawyer, Chyka who owns some food companies are it. The others include a psychic who earns little, a housewife living off of divorce proceedings, one who lives off husbands wealth, another who runs a ‘skin clinic’ which really is just an addon attached to her husband’s plastic surgery. They all have more than OC housewives but a lot less than the rich BH housewives if I had to guestimate.
I’m also interested in how everyone likes Alex Perry the Australian fashion designer who moderates the reunion. Heads up he has a wife of over 26+ years. It’s like Tamra’s Eddie all over again.
TT has just one question: “Who will ride with me?”
Hahaa….I’ll ride…for one episode. Just to check it out. But if it’s like what some are describing in comments, I will probably jump off the train.
Some ride or die bitch you turned out to be, Cat. le sigh.

Like I said, cat lifestyle. I’m not much of a follower. 😀
This is starting to feel like a break up…

Oh, on the contrary! As long as you keep feeding me here, I will stick around. 😀
I hate cats. I used to live in Greenwood, SC. In a house with a lot of open yard in the back and a highway in front. I cat decided it was going to live with me. I explained to the varmint in the back yard I was not interested. It persisted in sunning itself on my back stoop. Every day. Eventually I fed it mostly because I don’t do well moving the bodies of dead animals. I would not acknowledge it much. But it stayed on my back porch most days. Then I moved and was like, Jesus, who will feed the cat. It probably died. The end.
When I moved to this house way before I got Banjo to deal with cats, this black cat would come over and meow loudly at my door. He seemed sort of feral. I was afraid of it. And again afraid of removing the body. So I fed the damn thing. Then I found out my neighbors were feeding it too. Then one day the neighbors a few doors down moved and the cat never returned. That stupid fucker tricked me. There was a childrens story book written about this (not by me sadly, apparently fucking cats do this sort of thing all the damn time, because they are vile creatures)
Anyway. I just wanted to let you know I hate cats. So don’t take this saucer of milk the wrong way. Because I know you are not going anywhere. And I don’t want to have to remove your dead body. That is all.

I was recently tricked by a shady neighborhood cat, as well. It got in my house while I was pregnant and unaware, sneaking in as I left one day to pick up my kid. Every inch of the house had to be Lysol’ed. I wanted to move. I was furious. That was the last time I let my husband feed the damned thing. Turned out the people 4 doors down had named her and claimed her anyway. I was pissed.
That is not to mention the feral cat that my mom had been feeding, which got in the house and killed our handfed parrot. It sang Tony Bennett songs, knew every curse word, and it was the first time I remember seeing my father cry.
I hate cats, too.
Thank god someone agrees. That sound you hear is millions of cat ladies leaving my site forever. I’m going to be eating cat food myself for the comments. I just know it.

Oh..You both made me CRY! I was laughing so hard. I will try to make up for any crazy cat ladies who leave this site. I, myself, do not currently have a cat.
I am a crazy cat woman, but I understand your dislike of the species. That’s why we have chocolate and vanilla.
Watching episode 1 now online. This is pure heaven. And a psychic to boot? Talk about hitting the lottery.
WAIT FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lots of bullying. Jackie was my favorite! Shine Shine Shine!
You feed the cat, he will totally return. Period. I saw the first episode and it was over the top! Ladies so thrilled and obviously excited to be Housewives, they were gushing. Love seeing a different country, though.
I’m definitely on Gina side…Lydia is truly brainless ..and Andrea is worst housewife of all who has no any inner beauty in her but dare to write a book of nonsense…no one will buy her story and read it…only Chaka and Gina are the class act~
