Dance Moms Season Premiere Recap: Too Many Moms

Dance Moms New Season

Oh crap. The stupid other team is back. If we have two teams all season, I will be pissed. I don’t like the other moms. I don’t like change. I only care about the girls I have been following for years. The Fat Bible Thumping Ogre Woman  (FBTOW) really needs to go. She ran her mouth to get her kid taken out of the comp last season and she clearly hasn’t learned a thing. Send her packing for good, Abby.  I can’t take a whole season of her.

It’s time for the focus on Maddie’s accomplishments portion of the show. Abby has Maddie explain she shot a video for Sia.  If you missed it check that link, it’s worth a view.  Kalani was not asked back? I am SHOCKED. Kira must have really pissed off Abby. Since Kalani is gone, Maddie is back on the original team.

Pyramid time. Kendell is on the bottom because she and Kalani got beat by two of the B team girls in the last competition. Next is Nia because Abby hates her. Next is Mackenzie, yet all Abby can say is how great she is as a pop princess, but her dancing needs work. Maddie is next.  CHLOE IS ON TOP OF THE PYRAMID!!!  Yay! But of course Abby has to say that two of the judges had the B-teamer higher than Chloe. Christy says there is a rumor going around that Abby confronted the judges and demanded to know how Chloe beat the B teamer. Just be quiet Christy. This will get you nowhere.

Abby LeeThe girls will have two group routines. Both are contemporary. The real team’s routine is called Light as a Feather, Stiff As Board.  The stupid other team that should not even be there’s routine is called The Rapture. Abby asks FBTOW if she wants to explain the rapture. She says, “they won’t be a part of it so I don’t think it even matters.”  Because, cunt satchel.  Mackenzie gets a solo. It will be a Acro Jazz routine  called Watch Me Fly.  FBTOW’s spawn will be doing a solo against her. The only normal mom on the dumb team asks why FBTOW’s spawn gets a solo when she could not even participate last week. Abby says she wants to see her dance before she cuts her. It seems Abby enjoys fucking with her prey before she eats it. In this case it is warranted. Everyone hates FBTOW including the B team moms.

LOL later, my favorite mom on the B team, the red-head. Gets involved with a brawl with FBTOW and cold cocks her. It was quite the melée . Pretty much everyone on the B team was involved, either voluntarily or just as part of the clusterfuck. It was a real deal two because lurking husbands ran in to break up the brawl. Abby sends everyone to their vehicles until she can sort things out. Abby decides to make FBTOW apologize and the redhead does as well. Moving on.

As of now, Chloe has the lead in the group dance. We’ll see how long that lasts. The B Team rehearsal went really well. I see now why Abby kept FBTOW and the other kid’s mom. They bring the ensemble age down out of the teen range. The B Teamers have much older students. The real team’s mouths are dropping watching rehearsal. So they are going to lose and since Chloe is the lead, she will be blamed. Lovely.

At the competition FBTOW complains that her spawn’s makeup was not as pretty as Mackenzie’s and Abby likes her best. Um, DUH. You are actually from ALDC, it’s not secret who Abby likes best. Do your own kid’s scary makeup and shut up.

Mackenzies solo was great. Much more mature than we have seen her in the past, less cutesy. And when she finished she wasn’t even out of breath. She will be hard to beat. FBTOW’s kid did well, but not as well as Mackenzie. She lacks polish and showmanship.

Holly is pissed that the B team has way better costumes than the real team. And they do. The real team is dancing in pajamas. In rehearsal, the girls drop Chloe on her face. Here we go setting Chloe up to lose.

The B team group dance was really, really good. A bit out of sync in places, so perhaps there is room for the real team to win. I didn’t like the real team’s choreography. At all. And the costumes were hideous. But the real moms seem to think their kids won, so we shall see.

FBTOW’s spawn came in fourth. Mackenzie won first. The real group came in second. The B team won first. The real moms are pissed and rude back stage.

Next week: It looks like they take on the Candy Apples. Will Abby take two teams?

Why won’t Kristy remove her daughter from that abusive woman’s dance school and put her into a decent ballet.school. I know Pittsburg is West PA and Carlisle is South Central PA, but the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet is
one of the top schools in the country. Chloe is the most lyrical and musical dancer. She has the best feet, best extension, and body for ballet. Is the Lifetime network money worth it? Chloe could go to New York, Pacific Northwest ballet, or San Francisco. FBTOW is so jealous of Mackenzie. Mackenzie is sooo cute.
Abby screwed the pooch when she lost Kilani. Kilani’ s technique was so great. Her demi pointe almost looked like she was en pointe. Great extension. Will love to see the Dolly Dinkle of Ohio, Cathy Nesbit-Stein and her silent daughter Vivi.
Fasten your seatbelts my friends, we’re in for a bumpy season

Umm…Maddie has a better arch than Chloe and better extension. Chloe doesn’t have the ballerina body or ballerina flexibility. She’s not the most lyrical or musical dancer either.

I just wish there was something for Nia to do to help get her up that damn pyramid!!! But besides that, this whole OTHER team deal is not the business, she’s doing the exact same thing she accused Cathy of, bringin in a new team and having older dances with some ringers to bring the age down. She has a winning team but she’s cheating them with the choreography and costumes. ..it’s sad to watch for Chloe, Kendall, and Nia since we know it’s them who’d Abby leave aside if the contracts and fandom would allow. I love the original girl dances but watching them get shafted definitely makes it difficult!

Nia’s mom should probably have her do some one-on-one teaching with a professional (not Abby). That’s the only way she is going to get up that pyramid.

Ah puberty … what an interesting time. I had completely forgotten about this show. Thanks for the recap! Doesn’t seem like I’m missing out on much by not watching this anymore.

This season is gonna suck balls if it continues the way it is.

Could Lifetime promote Asia’s show just a little more?

Why are the other Christy (Kristy?) and her two daughters still in the into?

CHRISTy (FBTOW) is a longtime ALDC customer. Her daughter is good but not great.

I wonder how FBTOW would have reacted if her daughter was in the A group’s dance….dancing with a ouija board and chanting “Light as a feather, stiff as a board”, from the movie “Charmed”?

TT, did you watch the new show right after this, about Asia? That girl is 8 years old, going on 28. Oh, how times have changed!

FBTOW would have a cow. I think Asia has talent, but it limited to the kstripper type routines. Her mama needs to take a long hard look at where Asia will be in 4 years.8 going on 28 indeed.

I had a really hard time watching that show. I kept switching between approval, because Asia is so confident, and disgust, because the 8 year old is being trained to grow up way too fast. But, in the end, I realized, she is not my child. Her parents are responsible for her well being. I just hope they are in this for HER, and not for the money she may make in the future.

I just hope she does not go the way of other child stars. As a culture, we do push our little girls to grow up too fast. Glad my child is grown, and the fat cat and the monster just require us lap and a full food bowl.

I watched a little bit, but stuff was happening and I hit record. I was a big fan of Asia when she was on DM but from the few minutes I saw I am not going to enough seeing her on this show. She is literally cropping the abs of grown men to select backup dancers?

I heard an interview with Abby on Sirius this week (I think it was old interview with Pia Lindstrom). She said that she was just an “employee”, producers interviewed and picked the moms and kids – kids didn’t dance for interview, and the only influence she has on the script is when she refuses to use the music and routines they want her to teach!!! Beyond scripted. Real dance competitions won’t let them film. Competitions fabricated. When this show first came out, there were a lot of posts from Abby’s former students supporting her school and her real methods (vs. producer’s Pyramid). Surprised TT is covering this #$#$. More Big Brother!!

I’m a dance mom addict. If all this has some truth to it then I can understand why Abby gets so frustrated when they drop a prop, mothers fight etc. Still as long as Chloe does well I’m happy. She is on the top of my imaginary pyramid. I suspected that the competitions were bogus, as their camera work and editing tries to make the audience appear larger than it is. I’d assume competitions open to all studios would have more entrants/viewers.

I love dance. Chloe is my favorite too. I think all the girls are adorable, but Chloe is special. I hate to see Abby treat her so badly.

FBTOW sounds like Jill. Nia is grown into a beautiful young lady. Holly should pull her out and put her into a decent dance school.

Chloe is looking more like her mother everyday. Poor kid.

Mackenzie has improved! She had some of her sister’s spark.

They call the new mom Christy, but I would have dubbed her crusty. That’s just me though. She’s horrid and her kid seems scared of the world. Must be mortifying.

So, it sounded like Kalani’s mom decided to move on. That sucks. I really liked watching her. She was more natural and less beauty page t than the other two.

Tried the Asia thing. Got five minutes in and that was it. No interest. She is a brat and not in a cute way. She’s no milania. I’d like to see them in a cage match though.

I watched the rest of the Asia show. It’s a “good show” for people to watch really shitty parenting. Asia, who is 8 years old, has on a full face of makeup in every scene, at home at dinner, every single one. I’m sure it’s the number one show for pedophiles.

But I do want to watch it…Not watching isn’t going to change the future of this child.

this show lost me. I only watch now to see Chloe, Paige and Nia grow as much as they’re going to. When they’re done, so am I. I really adore McKenzie as well but I see the writing on the wall with her and Abby and that just annoys me.

Previews for next week, Chloe falls during the routine and Maddie tells her if we lose it’s your fault. Abby has trained her well. Watched Asia’s show but I’m not a fan, so I will not be watching unless there is nothing else on, but I am looking forward to David Tutera show.
