I enjoyed the books, but will probably wait for the DVD to come out. Just not liking the casting. Besides, I’d have to go alone to the movie and that’s sad and a little creepy.
It is NOT SAD AND A LITTLE CREEPY! I love love love going to the movies alone. When you go with someone, I have a tendancy to bother them with questions like “Is that the guy from the beginning of the movie with the thing?
You are most definitely allowed to go to movies by yourself and take yourself out to dinner before hand. I am great at taking myself on dates because I am great company and go exactly where I want. 🙂

Still not sure how it’s going to get an R rating… also, I wish Matt Bomer had been Christian Grey. That said, I’m not gonna lie. I’m looking forward to the movie.
You’re right, the book wasn’t that great, but I wish I had written it. I’ve watched the trailer twice and the first time, I didn’t really like Grey. The second time; however, he had grown on me. I’m looking forward to seeing the movie. I enjoyed Sylvia Day’s Crossfire series waaaay better. I highly recommend it if you like romantic erotica. Am I allowed to say that? lol
I am looking forward to seeing it, I have read all three books (that in my opinion, should have been ONE book).
She looks like I imagined, but Grey not so much…I would have rather have had the sons of anarchy guy that dropped out…
I should clarify though, I like Ann Rice’s Sleeping Beauty series that she wrote as A.N. Roclair…it had a lot more authentic BDSM, that 50 shades of grey….
That series was jaw dropping. I still have images from it burned into my brain. 50 Shades is a nursery rhyme in comparison. I still hate myself for reading it because the writing was horrific. Same self loathing I get from watching the Housewives series, which has morphed into a badly scripted soap.
I tried to read the book but stopped at the third chapter. It never got sexy and all she did was cry the entire time (and this was before he even started the bdsm). Never picked it back up. I’m not into BDSM but I’ve read some really sexy ones by Joey W. Hill. I will pass on the movie.
He is not sexually edgy enough for the role. Sons of Anarchy guy would have been super hot. Matt Boehmer is hot with those blue eyes but because I know he’s gay it interferes with the fantasy the books and movie are trying to create. Never read the books so not sure if this guy fits that character’s description.
I thought Jamie Dornan was pretty….um…”compelling” as a serial rapist/murderer in the first season of that BBC show with Jillian Anderson….that I can’t remember the name of now that I’m trying to write this….UGH. I couldn’t get through the book, so probably won’t see this movie, but thought Jamie might not be a bad choice as Grey.
The only thing I liked about the book was that it got people reading! I stopped after a few chapters of the 1st book. Horrible writing, but what a brilliant idea!
I’m not so sure what it says about me, but I am looking forward to it….
Would have much preferred Charlie Hunnam (Jax Taylor) in the role, though….
Amen sister. Love me some Charlie Hunnam
The acting doesn’t appear to be any better in the movie than the writing was in the book. Garbage.

You also don’t have someone sticking their hand into your popcorn after they ate all of their’ s.

That’s why I always try to go on vacation for my birthday. Not obligated to do anything at all.

I like to cry like a maniac in movies, so I feel more free to do so when I go by myself.
The writing was awful in the books. But I wish I would have been smart enough to crappily write a book and then get rich lol
You could still write one…what really goes on in a fictional reality show featuring a BDSM club?
I didn’t read the book because I presumed it would not be authentic. Um, I may have said too much.

Matt Bomer would have been perfect

I got the book at a thift store for $1. The writing was so bad I stop reading it after about 10 pages.

TI totally agree! They dragged out the whole storyline and at the end of the third book I was let down. Ive read amazon artists with better abilities.

Hey…is Beyonce part of the soundtrack or just for the trailer?
I think that she is part of the soundtrack.

The casting is all wrong!! Sorry. My Christian Grey was Ian Somerhalder. I got a heat flash just imagining that.
I haven’t read the books, erotica isn’t my thing but based on what I know he would’ve been a good cast. He’s very intense.

ahhhh, yum, I’ll bite.
I guess I’m the only who will admit to it, but I absolutely LOVED the series.

Vanilla suits me just fine, and I make no allusions to worldly and sophisticated tastes that I know nothing about.
