Who will be returning to the cast of Below Deck Season 2? I’ve been pushing this blog to the back burner for far too long. But I believe that Bravo is getting ready to announce the new season, and I might as well scoop them. Really, the only important thing is that Captain Lee is coming back. I hope we get more scenes with him and less scenes of Kat getting drunk and acting a fool, because she is back too. Le sigh. I’m sure she will be fine, but frankly, I am not over them letting Adrienne go. When will Bravo learn that we want to see inside the life of a yachtie and no so much Kat reenacting every 18 year old’s first spring break in every port. We get it, Kat drinks a lot. If I wanted to see a drunk chick, I could look in the mirror.
Anyway, moving on, Ben is back to look adorable while bitching about cooking vegan dog food for purse dogs. I bet he will miss Adrienne this season too. 🙁 Eddie was given a second chance and also returns for season two. If I remember correctly, Eddie didn’t get much in the way of interesting face time until the last few episodes and we were all wondering where that funny, interesting guy was in the beginning.
That is all of the season one cast that is coming back. I’m not crying any tears over Aleks, CJ or especially Sam not coming back. I will miss Dave, our little gay porn star. Because, who doesn’t love a gay porn star? So we will have a new girl to argue with Sam and perhaps another ally. We need the conflict of three women sharing quarters. Two will ally and the other will…not. We’re going to need a slutty guy or two for the girls to hook up with, and that should about do it.
As for behind the scenes, there were some booking issues. It must be harder than we think to find rich attention whores who want to spend their spring break sailing the BVIs. For some reason Bravo doesn’t comp the trips for the “guests” on the show unless things get really desperate. They had a hard time getting all the slots filled back to back for filming. There were several times I saw them asking for (paid) guests with just a week or two before filming. The boat was bigger this year, and the rates were higher than last season. That said, I hear that the trips were “interesting” which is always a good sign. But, I’ll be the judge of that. 🙂
Bravo will be announcing the new cast and the premiere date, perhaps as soon as tomorrow. Word on the ocean is that the show is expected to return in mid to late August.
I’ll be watching, will you?
While it was a fun show to watch, I wouldn’t pay the $100,000+ fee plus an astronomical tip for a week on a boat while being filmed for a reality TV show. If I had that kind of money, I’d want to be left alone.
TT I just want to take a second and THANK YOU for doing this blog and making so many readers LOL while reading. I really need laughs some days and today your ‘look in the mirror to see a drunk chick’ gave me major giggles when I have been a sea of tears for days. THANK YOU for being you and making so many of us smile and laugh.
If Bravo is smart (and many times they aren’t), they would comp half the price of any trip on the boat if you agree to being filmed on the show. Alot of groups would go for that. Because if you have the money to pay for 100,000 dollars charter for a week or a couple of days and then tip, you might not want to be filmed at all and won’t care about Bravo. Now a small family or group could get together acting like big shots where they pool together 50,000 dollars if Bravo pays for the other 50,000. They would get better characters aka borderline rich clients with issues.
That is basically what they do. The get a decent discount but it’s still an expensive trip. However, if the bill was split between everyone, it would be almost reasonable.

I do not claim to know anything about how these shows do the accounting. It just seems like when the “extras” pay thousands to be a focus of each episode, the network must be making a killing. They sure have a lot of commercials, although many are just promoting other Bravo shows.
I will be watching, not too happy with the casting so far, but 2 most important males are back.
Sadly, Tamara, that is the yachting industry, every event is sponsored by usually a rum company, free booze flowing from when you hit the dock until the event tent closes in regattas and if you are doing a delivery or charter the norm more than not is to hit the bar get hammered and hook up once you get a night of leave.
All the boats are arriving now, makes for some fantastic people watching at night and some great walk of shame watching on my way to work.
Oh I will be watching!
I liked Adrienne! I’m glad that Ben and Captain Lee will be back, though.
I was shocked with how much I liked this show, and I will certainly be watching season two.
I actually googled this just the other day trying to find out when it’s coming back. I can’t believe how almost the entire cast has been replaced! Whatever I will still watch- I loved the first season.
I’ll be watching but I want to see more shenanigans from the guests, the heck with the crew!
Thank you for the update. At least I won’t have to turn the sound down with Sam gone. I didn’t like Adrienne until I started following her after the show ended. After an incident while out with friends, she started promoting date rape drug test kits. She struck a chord when she talked about college freshmen.
I’ll give the new season a try.
Loved this show and will definitely watch season 2. I actually liked [and disliked] something about each of the season 1 cast. Happy that they are bringing back Ben, Eddie and Captain Lee. I liked the sober Kat and hope that is what we see of her.
My least favorite was Sam. While I sympathize with her for the loss of her sister; her lack of humility, entitlement and smugness was mind boggling. I’ll be interested to see if she grows up and into a better human being in a decade. I sure hope so.
I was chatting with Adrienne on twitter and I believe we may end up seeing her show up on the show eventually…:) She’s very chummy with Kat and I’ve seen photos that could indicate Bravo had a change of heart mid filming or something. Or maybe Andrienne drowned one of the new chicks to reclaim her rightful throne. 🙂
Anyway, there is a glimmer of Adrienne hope.

Fantastic! You are amazing with all of your sources.
Yes, my problems with Sam included the smugness and sense of entitlement, as you mentioned, however, my main issue with Sam was that she seemed to not understand why she had to take orders from her supervisor. I can’t remember if Adrienne ever asked Sam to do something that was far beyond her duties–it was just like Sam couldn’t grasp that it wasn’t personal–a key aspect of Adrienne’s job was the ability to delegate duties. Adrienne seemed like she was all about getting things done, done right, and done in an efficient manner. I feel Kat got sucked into Adrienne and Sam’s issues.
With Sam gone, I’ll give it another try! I’m glad those guys are back! Hope to see Adrienne!
PS: Yeah, you go, TT! I don’t know who you are but dang! You amaze me because you not only have a ton of sources, but you get CORRECT info from them! Props!!!
Sam just had a face you couldn’t help but want to smack. And I abhor violence. She won’t be missed.
Looking forward to watching Season 2 from the sidelines with you all… I always looked forward to this blog and I can’t wait to finally be able to comment this time around… Let the madness begin! 😉
I’m anticipating some pretty good crew Shenannigans, more beautiful backdrops, and some fun surprises! I’m just as excited as everyone of you to see how it turns out! Enjoy and thank you for all your support! 🙂
Yay! So excited to have you hear with us, Adrienne!
Aw! I’ll miss seeing you on the show, but look forward to your comments!
Adrienne, wish you were aboard to cook up some drama and sense into the usual Bravo hires. I’m somewhat glad you do not have to suffer their fools. I hope you are doing well, you are really too good to play stupid. I do look forward to you interpreting some of the yachting specifics to us land lubbers.
OMG! I didn’t see that you had posted! Oh, exciting! You seem to know, but TT is the ONLY blog I frequent and ABSOLUTELY the on my one I comment on. Stick with us! I want to read your comments–even if they’re just a “whoa” or an “agree”! Ha ha!
Dammit, autocorret!
I meant, “The only [blog] I comment on.”
Oooops!
Sorry to see you won’t be on season 2 Adrienne!!! I grew up on yachts (New England) , and I enjoyed you. And your work ethic. I wish you well in your latest venture!
Adrienne, You were my fav. I am hating that you will not be on this season, but so happy that you will be here with us. I look forward to your comments!
Oh TT, what would we do without you????
I have one question For Tamara or Adrienne. Do either of you know if someone in production might have lost their mind and decided to give Kat Adrienne’s old job?
We shan’t speak of that.

Sorry TT it was just a fear that came to mind when I read that Adrienne wasn’t coming back. You know some people at Bravo have I.Q.s the same number as their shoe size.
Well they did not give her a season two contract.
What you people need to know is when my Bravo people tell me things. THINGS CHANGE.
So just like Porsha coming back for a few?
dot…dot..dot…
only better because it is actually someone we want back, dipped in gold, and put on the front of the ship!
um, allegedly.

I enjoyed this show.
It’s a combination of Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous, Upstairs Downstairs & LoveBoat.
Except Captain Lee is hotter and has hair!

Captain Lee is everything!!!
I haven’t had time for tea lately and I’m so sad to have missed so many great posts! No one probably reads the 188th comment, with the exception of the MOST IMPORTANT PERSON THAT IS, TT. Anyway, Yes I will be watching this next season. Living on a boat is adventurous and I love the premise. That being said the cast bored me. I’m with you on Kat being a drunk and uninteresting and often times sad to watch. Give us beautiful people who can make fun of the paying guests, gorgeous ocean and ports of call and leave it at that please. One or two love triangles are good too. 🙂
