The stars have finally aligned for me to recap the finale of Million Dollar Listing New York. I hope you are all still interested. Let’s see how the boys end Season 3. I am looking forward to the reunion where Andy says everyone, including Andy sheds a few tears.
Luis gets a call from Fredrik who claims to be wanting to make up with Luis after the Brooklyn debacle. This destroys Luis’s meditative morning with his bonsai tree. In fact, the poor bonsai tree, who was being so lovingly pruned before the call takes a punch!
Janet called from 30 Lincoln to let Luis know that the Ryan’s closing went through. She offers to show her appreciation by letting him relist the apartment she rudely snatched from him three months ago. The problem is that she has raised the price, and Luis could not find a buyer before at the lower price. So this will be a challenge.
Meanwhile, he has staged the hell out of his Wall Street listing with the funky room shapes. It’s incredible looking now. I can’t believe he staged the place for $20,000. It really does look amazing. He has a huge open house. Ryan shows up to support him. Ut-oh, Fredrik shows up uninvited under the pretense of making up with Luis. Luis is not open to Fredrik’s apology . They take it outside. Luis says that if he treats Derek like that, he feels sorry for him too. That was a low blow, Luis. Fredrik loses it. Luis calls him a weak piece of shit after Fredrik walks off. It’s all very dramatic.
Luis got an offer for Janet over the ask in less than three weeks. Janet is thrilled and Luis has a new seller in his pocket.
Ryan has a listing for a nice little apartment near Times Square. I don’t understand Ryan’s pricing theories. He always lists at a lower price than he tells the client he may be able to get. People like to negotiate there needs to be a little wiggle room so that the buyer feels like he is getting a deal. The seller is a professional ballroom dancer and as part of Ryan’s search to find his soul, he is going to get dance lessons so he can take his beleaguered girlfriend out on a date. I’m quite sure that Ryan took some dance classes during his acting days; however, he acting like he has never even heard a song in his life, much less danced.
Ryan is trying to sell the new listing by cold calling Asian investors in Hong Kong. And it’s working like a charm. He got a deal at 10% over ask.
I thought that Ryan’s dance idea would be really dumb. But it was kind of sweet and had the desired effect on Amelia.
Ryan says he doesn’t want to be a douchebag anymore and Amelia is home to him now. He’s ready to settle down.
Fredrik has business in the Hamptons and takes Derek with him. Somehow, Fredrik got the listing on an entire new subdivision, and another agent will basically do all the work, by doing all the showings. Fredrik is going to do the marketing. His plan is odd. He seems to think that people who live in a house, need a doorman and a gym. Buildings need doormen and gyms, Fredrik. Summer homes do not.
OMG! The agent doing the showings for Fredrik is so loud and obnoxious I cannot tolerate her voice.
Fredrik is out celebrating being the number one team in commissions at Douglass Elliman. That really is a big deal. Meanwhile, he negotiated offers for five of the 37 Hamptons houses he has listed. Not too shabby.
Fredrik suggests that he and Derek buy one of the houses in the Hamptons. It would be a great place for Derek to paint. Derek is thrilled.
Tomorrow night the reunion begins. I’ll be watching! Will you?
