I am really sort of over this wedding, but I feel like I must continue to ride it out until the end. How many more episodes do we have? With 14 days left before the ceremony, Todd and Kandi go for counseling at their church. Todd points out that it is Kandi’s mother that really needs the counseling. I agree. However, this “counseling session” is very on the surface. We learn important things like, Kandi likes a foot rub. Kandi does not understand that she is supposed to handle the situation between her husband and her mother. That is her responsiblity! No one else can take control of this situation.
Mama Tucker, Miss Sharon is coming to stay with Kandi and Todd for two weeks. Todd can’t make a bed without calling for help from Kandi. Kandi has no interest in bringing the two mothers together. Todd seems to think they need to get them together and try to smooth things over.
Todd and his mama have a conversation about Mama Joyce. Mama Sharon seems to think that the pimp comment happened because Todd’s daddy “looked like Superfly.” I am bored. Already.
Kandi and Mama Sharon get along well it seems. Sharon seems very nice. Kandi doesn’t seem to get that her mother is a royal bitch. Don’t put this on Todd’s mama, girl. Kandi says she is tired of being in the middle of it. Too bad. She is the only one who can step up and put Mama Joyce in check.
Kandi goes cake shopping. I’ve never heard of the place she is getting her cake. There are a lot of super good wedding cake stores in Atlanta. It’s possible that this place makes great cakes. The place that Kim Biermann got her cake is generally considered the it place in Atlanta for cakes. Todd, who has repeatedly said he just wants to show up, is at the cake tasting. Todd rags on Kandi for actually eating all the cake samples. WTF? Carmon and the other bridesmaid don’t seem to get along.
It’s less than two weeks until the wedding and Reco isn’t even close to having the dresses made. Tan and Carmen seem to hate each other.
Next up, it’s a bridesmaid get together. Oh and Kwame is also a bridesmaid. Bride may. Bride man. Tan is running the show and giving marching orders. Phaedra’s suggestion for the bachelorette party is little people strippers. Tan gives Carmon some kind of lecture on how to deal with Mama Joyce. This is none of Tan’s business. Tan tells Carmon she needs to apologize to Mama Joyce. Um why? Carmon gives Tan the “Bye Felecia!” treatment. Weenie goes off on Tan and Carmon and tells them to put their differences aside. Still bored. Also, I don’t like Tan.
Todd, who doesn’t want anything to do with the wedding planning, takes his mother wig shopping for the wedding.
Kandi and Todd are making dinner for both mamas. Riey is really growing up! Aunt Bertha and Aunt Nora arrive at the house with take out. The aunts love Todd’s mom, Sharon. Maybe. Now Bertha is saying Sharon talks too much. Then dinner becomes very quiet and awkward. Mama Joyce is pissed because Sharon has been there for several days and she says that she can’t spend the night at Kandi’s. Why would she even need to do that. She has a house of her own up the street. Kandi says that Mama Joyce is welcome to spend the night if she can be nice to Todd.
Sharon says that Mama Joyce needs to stop threatening her son and Mama Joyce is off to the horse races. Mama Joyce starts waving her finger and Sharon and oh lord, she is up out of her chair. Kandi jumps up to hold Mama Joyce back. Todd’s mam calls Mama Joyce a bitch. Todd takes his mom out of the room. Mama Joyce is having a fit because Sharon called her a bitch. Which is ridiculous since Mama Joyce calls Sharon a prostitute all the damn time. At least Sharon said it to her face.
Mama Joyce says Kandi is taking Todd’s side. Mama Joyce is delusional. This is too ridiculous to recap. I would like to point out that everyone is drinking out of red solo cups. This is just so wrong. This is not how we do it in the south.
Next week: Midget strippers and prenups.
