Still trying to get caught up on this show. It takes a lot more thought and time than a reality show to blog, but I am determined to get through these two episodes. If you fell behind as well, here are the previous recaps.
We begin back at Rachel’s apartment where all the Dyad folks and Rachel have discovered Daniel’s dead body. Since Helena did the killing, the crime scene is particularly gruesome. Dr. Leekie somehow as already seen security footage of Sarah and Helena leaving together. It seems that Rachel is going to need a new monitor and the everso hot Paul (Dylan Bruce) who has had sex with two, soon to be three of the clones (Beth, Sarah pretending to be Beth, and Rachel). Did I mention he is really hot and a former mercenary of some sort? Because, hot. His hotness is not lost on Rachel either which I why I know she is going to make the moves on him hours after her last lover/monitor was brutally murdered. Even though Paul has no real choice in the matter, he seems all in. Sure enough at the end of the episode, Rachel goes all dominatrix on Paul, who seems to be enjoying it as Helena trains a sniper rifle on her. Shouldn’t there be a red dot on her that Paul can see?
Sarah and Helena have fled to Felix’s funky flat and he is not happy that Helena has risen from the dead and murdered someone. He points out to Sarah that she will not make a good flat mate. Helena after some explanation from Sarah looks at Felix and says, “He is sestra?” And with that Felix is tasked with babysitting Helena.
Cal and Kira
Father and daughter are hanging out in the camper and Kira seems quite taken with him. Kira is the best judge of character out of anyone on the show. That said, Cal is packing and the camper has cash and a gun. I get the feeling that gun will be used this episode. Kira wants new dry socks, so stupidly it seems they will go sock shopping. Did I mention how good looking Cal is? Is this a hormone thing or are there a lot of hot guys on this show? Anyway, Kira is drawing pictures of her aunties and giving clues to Cal.
While working out the details of Paul becoming Rachel’s monitor, Leekie tells Rachel they have found a treatment for Cosima’s illness. Rachel tells Leekie to withhold it until Sarah, “Comes to heel.” Seems like Rachel’s position at Dyad is above Leekie’s. Cosima and Delphine accidently receive the info on the stem cell treatment and realize Leekie is not sharing all the information. Cosima and Delphine get caught by Leekie trying to get the stem cells. Instead of being angry, Leekies starts spilling info. They lost the original genome for the synthetic DNA and they are trying to recreate it from the clones. And he is willing to disobey Rachel and give Cosmisa the treatment. Which is a good thing. I think. Maybe. Or not.
After the treatment, Cosima says the clones have a proposition for Leekie. He goes to a bar to wait and Sarah shows up. She claims the picture she has is proof the Rachel’s father, on of the original scientists is alive. He promises to buy her some time and get Felix out of jail. They strike a deal.
She leaves and Paul shows up. He seems well under the spell of Rachel after his little sexcapade. He knows that Leekie made a deal. Leekie tells him that he needs to report him over Rachel. Paul leaves and says he will be in touch.
Felix and his “sestra” Helena go to meet with Art Bell the police detective who is sort of unofficially working the clone case. I must have missed how this was set up. It’s a drop off, a safe place to stash Helena until….I dunno. Art is trying to question Helena, but she is in her own little world and nonresponsive. A box of powdered donuts and some sardines with mustard gets tidbits of disconnected information, “Does Sarah know about the swan man who played god?” and says he is in Maggie Chen’s locker. (Maggie works for the Proletheans and was supposedly shot by Beth, the cop, before she killed herself.)
Felix is just trying to earn his living and be left alone. He finally gets one of his regulars to show up and a cop (apparently on the payroll) and Paul show up. Paul has the gun Daniel used to kill the cop at Cal’s cabin and he forces it into Felix’s hands. Now Dyad has evidence to frame Felix for murder unless Sarah complies with Dyad. Rachel is a bitch and Paul isn’t nearly as hot as he was five minutes ago. Sarah calls Art for help and while they are on the phone, Helena uses the key for the can of sardines to pick the lock on her hand cuffs and escape. Sarah arrives to a handcuffed Art, and a clue left by Helena. The clue leads them to Maggie Chen’s locker. It’s a creepy place filled with doll heads and some info on the swan man. Sarah thinks that Rachel’s dad did not die in the explosion. She can use that info to barter for Felix. They discover a missing sniper rifle and Sarah realizes Helena is going to kill Rachel. Sarah manages to talk Helena out of killing Rachel. For now. And Art is completely confused.
Henrik and Bonnie are holding their daughter Gracie in a cell until she tells them what happened with Helena. Mark brings her something to drink and tries to get her to confess, which will be sort of hard because it looks like they have sewn her lips shut. Her mother eventually yanks them out while telling her that if things don’t go as planned, Gracie will be forced to carry the child. These people are freaky!
Next week: ROAD TRIP! Sarah and Helena are off to Cold River, the land of screams! (whatever that means) . Helena misbehaves, and was that Mrs. S standing outside the car window saying, “Hello, Paul…”???
P.S. I am not sure this format is working. Next week I may try to go back to a more linear format.
