Brandi’s son Mason was back in the hospital over memorial day weekend. Last month while the boys were visiting Brandi during the filming of Celebrity Apprentice, Mason was rushed to the hospital with anaphylactic shock. My sources were not clear on what caused the boy to go into shock specifically, but anaphylactic shock is basically a severe allergic reaction. In kids it usually turns out to be a food allergy, usually to nuts or shellfish. It can also be caused by bites from fire ants or bee stings. The symptoms (burning, itching skin, difficulty breathing, rapidly falling blood pressure, fainting, etc.) can be fatal if treatment is not received in a timely manner.
During the wee hours of Sunday morning, Brandi tweeted, “At ER with Mason 3 rd time in 9 weeks :/ allergy’s and Epi-pens suuuck! Better safe than sorry
As usual Brandi tweeted pictures of the boys in the ER, which I opted not to use because, “Who does that?” I know I am at the extreme end of the picture-taking spectrum, “No pictures, ever!” but I’d like to think most people don’t feel the need to take pictures of their children for Twitter during a medical emergency. Also, Epi-pens do not suck, they save lives.
I’m guessing that Mason probably ate something at a Memorial Day get together that triggered his allergies and he didn’t bring his Epi-pen. Spring hasn’t been such a great season for Brandi and family. At the end of April they had to move out of their rental home and Brandi made it seem like they were going to be couch surfing for the summer. Based on Lisa Vanderpump’s comments, It seems as though Brandi may not be coming back to RHOBH…so she better find a place within her budget.
UPDATED: I took a moment to review Brandi’s twitter and they seem to be living in a hotel. Brandi mentions going out for “adult night” Saturday night and then five hours later tweets about Mason being in the hospital. There are also pictures of her posing for selfies in her underwear and standing in front of a liquor store that appears to be called I (heart) Liquor, making the heart sign. #MotherOfTheYear
I hope that Mason feels better soon!
