Please Consider Donating to This Project

May 23, 2014 by tamaratattles 32 Comments

I get tons of emails asking me to promote their shit. In general, I don’t care. In this case I do. I’d like for you all to consider donating to this cause. Why? Because I love the arts and I want us to support them. Also because, I’d like to counteract our love of watching stupid black women on Bravo. I normally don’t approve of tweeting housewives, but this project only has 8 day left. We’re gonna need Kandi, and you can try the other housewives too. I really want this project to get off the ground.

I am trying to take a very short trip I really can’t afford for my birthday so I am not sure how much if any I can donate. I wish I had known about these people sooner. June and December are the most expensive months for me.

But they came to me because we are outraged about how RHOA treats black women. We want better role models. We want to support up and coming actresses of every creed. If that is true for you, send these women some $$. Anything will help. I NEVER do this shit. But this is a group of women trying to show what REAL women are like. If we all sent $2 they would be done with their fundraising tomorrow. But send $10 because some of us don’t have $2 right now.

THIS is what you should be supporting. Not Bravo. If you are outraged about what we have been sucked into, please support this.

I usually only give to the big charities, but since you ask, Tamra, consider it done. Looks like a worthy cause.

Consider it done! You never ask for anything, and I haven’t watched the video yet, but I will do it for YOU. It’s about time for another “Happy Pill Fund” donation as well. xoxo

I just watched the “Entire”clip and read all the information on the “Entire” page. I found Deana Williams to be a very witty, intelligent person. I can see why Tamara would support her, I would. And I wish Deanna and her casts members the best on her second film, Torn.

I can’t figure out if TT is serious or just being silly. To be on the safe side, I’ll donate to the Wounded Warrior Fund since it is Memorial Day and someone I loved beyond words was KIA in Iraq.

Kacey, Vonnie and Frapppe what about the “Entire” presentation seemed like BS and TT being silly? I don’t think TT would fool around with suggesting that her audience consider involvement in unsafe, silly, BS anything. And your ignorant responses are duly noted.

I understand people being suspicious of who they support in financial endeavors. Like I said, I get offers all the time. Last night after several glasses of wine I received an email about this project. After a long day of reading, writing and researching about reality show participants who are not actresses, but dancing on the edge of criminal endeavors, I felt we should do a little penance and be supportive of real actors, writers, women who are trying to tell a story that may be worthy of support than the people we focus our attention on now.

I have not fully vetted this group, I had never heard of them before last night, I just thought compared to what I had spent my day focusing my energy on, this was a better choice. I’m simply passing on information that you may want to consider.

Remember, I’m trying to drag us into the light. 🙂 Myself especially.

Terri. Please note I never called anyone ignorant or used any invectives. All I did was wonder if TT was serious. Let me expand on my remarks. Art has been and always will be in the eye of the beholder. There is seldom, if ever, universal acclaim for any artwork in any form. I love all the works of all the Wyeths but others do not. I do not call those people ignorant because I know it is a matter of taste and visceral response to what is presented. In the matter at hand I will say this. I do not think “Dude Where’s My Car” is a fabulous film worthy of my financial support had it been sought. I have deemed this project to be equally inferior. Just because an “artist” urinates on a crucifix does not make it art. It merely makes for a great deal of work for a psychiatrist.

I did forget to ask you Terrii – my “ignorant responses” which were “duly noted” by you – will those go on my permanent record and follow me the rest of my life crippling my ability to find a suitable job, a good husband and the love and admiration of respectable people?

@frappe loved your response to @teeril It was delivered with delicious wit. My response to her comments ended up under your response. Labeling people is a sign of insecurity. We need all types to keep the whole thing darn interesting up in here don’t we?

Thanks Vonnie. My more complete response to Terrill is awaiting moderation. Don’t know if it will ever appear or why it would not since I thought it was very respectful. And a huge YES as to all types. I am usually attracted to people who differ from me because I love learning new things.

Please accept my apology. I did not call you ignorant,I was referring to the tone of your responses. Actually it was more of Kacey’s response than yours, but you guys seemed to have jumped on the wagon and were giving negative comments without any reasons why you were calling it BS or silly, ect. You were sort of dissing the Artist and her mission,if you will. But once again I apologize to all of you if you felt dissed by my response regarding your comments.

@TT – no problem with the moderation. Even if you had not passed it through, this is your blog and you can do whatever you like without complaint from me. And as an aside, simply because we disagree on this topic be aware I would not be reading your blog if I didn’t believe your thoughts were well worth my time. Nightmares suck. Worst one is where you are nekkid in front of an audience, giving a speech you did not prepare for, with a bear chasing you while your feet are stuck in a bog. Not that I’ve ever had that one – just talk on the street. 🙂

My brain seems to know what will freak my out the most and chooses those things. Lots of dead family members showing up at my house uninvited trying to get in. Just crazy stuff.

Moderation – to those that go into cyber moderation, you will find me there.
It’s not my words or TT’s post, it’s the WP moon cycle. It becomes lonely and reaches out for companionship, indiscriminately.
TT finds us in time and restores us to where we belong.
    Just my humble opinion!
