For the past eight years, OUT has been ranking of the most influential LGBT voices in American culture. This year, our Andrew was named 8th on the very impressive list! This could make things awkward for him and his buddies, Anderson Cooper (14th) and Marc Jacobs (39th) on their next boys night out.
For me the placement of the designers was very interesting… Tom Ford was two spots about Marc Jacobs (37th) with a huge gap between those two and Michael Kors (12th). Also the journalist/talk show folks order was interesting. Don Lemon (27th), Anderson Cooper (14th) and Robin Roberts (10th) ranked lower than Andy while Rachel Maddow (3rd) and Ellen DeGeneres (1st) ranked higher! Nene’s BFF Ryan Murphy ranked 6th.Here is Andy’s bio that OUT ran with their announcement!
TV Executive/Host, 45
In recent years, Cohen has become a bigger star than the housewives on his cable network, Bravo. Last year, he relinquished his executive duties in order to focus on Watch What Happens Live, and Bravo recently renewed the late-night show for two more years, having negotiated a multiyear deal with his production company, Most Talkative. But don’t worry, he’ll always be the producer (and most reliable) face of the Real Housewives franchise.
Ok…. I’m very late… Don Lemon is gay?? he gave bryant gumble realness but my gaydar must be broken.. (heading to repair shop ASAP)
LOL too funny.
ha! I just said the same when I read the story.
Don Lemon, that didn’t get picked up on my radar either.
Maybe next year Tom Sandoval…
I too am late with the Don Lemon news. #whoknew
Andy deserves it! I love me some Anderson but let’s face it his Vanderbilt ties weren’t hindering his journalism career. I don’t know Andy’s roots but I get a “worked his way up” vibe. I could be wrong!
Not sure I agree with him being more influential than some of the folks rated lower but maybe this list is gaging the influence in the gay community. He certainly has created a phenomenon with the Housewives franchises and has put more gays on TV in different roles than any other network. Kudos to him.
