On this episode of Scandal, there are a lot of people who can’t keep their dicks in their pants, or who are really trying to get their dicks out of their pants. Really this episode was all about dick. And making out in front of sheer curtains. And dysfunctional families.
We start with the dysfunctional first family of five preparing for a rare sit down dinner. Mellie preps Fitz for the event as if they are headed to an official presidential gathering. The girl child’s name is Karen. She was in a play called Our Town. The boy child is named Jerry (after his biological father, you dear old dad) he sullen, don’t provoke him. Let’s just say neither kid feels very warmly toward their father. Jerry is a loose cannon with a parody website of his father and seems very eager to be interviewed live. He’s counting page views for his site in his head.
Shortly after dinner, Andrew’s dick found his way into Mellie’s mouth, which is a couple of bases farther than Fitz and Olivia got to while standing right in front of a window in the oval office. Mellie and Andrew didn’t feel the need to lock the door so Karen stumbled on to a scene which will take her thousands of dollars and years of therapy to get over. Karen runs her mouth to her father about what she saw when he tries to encourage her to get it together for the family interview that is supposed to go down very shortly.
Olivia ships Andrew off to Possum Forge to campaign and tries to at least stall the interview. But before she can get Andrew on a plane, Fitz punches him. Fitz yells at Olivia which reminds her of her mother’s warning that she is just “the help” and none of the people she works for car about her at all. She wants to just walk out but Cyrus convinces her she has to stay and save the nation. #NoPressure.
We have another bizarre Huckleberry Quinn scene where Huck seems to have some sort of human emotion for Quinn. Is he really capable of that? Quinn makes out with him and then tells him to fuck off. She returns home to find Charlie has moved into her apartment and broken his own lease. Quinn has two insane killers fighting for her heart. Whoever wins may end up just eating her heart with a side of fava beans and a nice bottle of Chianti.
Mama Pope was up to no good this episode as well. There is a guy named Dimitri that seems to be on pretty much everyone’s mind at the moment. He will be key in bringing all the storylines together later. Adnan Salif is starting to figure out that Mama Pope is not one to be messed with and wishing she could get out of business with her. She goes to Harrison to get him to convince Olivia to help protect her from her mother. Olivia is not big on the idea, but she let’s Harrison talk her into it. Harrison and Adnan get to smashing and the next thing you know, Adnan has smashed Harrison upside the head and downloaded all of Olivia’s information on to a jump drive that she runs over to Mama Pope and Dimitri. It included all of the plans for Fitz’s whereabouts and blueprints of various places.
We end with the dysfunctional Pope family. Olivia has been talking to her father trying to get him to help her take down B316 but he and Huck both are really trying to stop her from getting involved. She is looking for the source that funds B316 and Rowan calls her and tells her the answers she wants. Suspicious of his motive, Olivia asks why he decided to help her. He said, ” “We’re family, Olivia, despite everything, families stick together.”
Yeah…families stick together. Like Millie keeping her deep dark secret about her son being Fitz little brother. Dirty little secrets…..
Hhmmm…a bit late to posting here, but I’m pretty sure Fitz’s father assaulted Millie many years ago, much earlier in their political careers. Their son is still an infant. He was conceived to save their reputations when the media gott wind of his infidelities. Pretty sure the son is not a product of the prior rape.
So did you ever watch the show before coming in here with your “corrections?” Did you see the surly adolescent teenaged son with the parody website against Fitz? That’s the product of rape. There are THREE children.

*dreamy sigh*
It didn’t fit in with my dick and family dysfunction theme. LOL. And I am very distracted with the influx of new folks here. They are coming in with no knowledge of the rules and untamed. 🙂

LMAO @ your last line.
I really really love your blog.
Huck and Quinn are determined to make every viewer regurgitate their dinner on Thursday nights. I am PISSED Olivia walked in just when Mellie was about to spill the beans about Fitz triflin daddy. I hope it’s written that she tells him before the season is over. I didn’t trust Adnan (the lost kardashian sister) the moment she popped on the scene but I do think she is scared of Mama Pope as she should be that’s a goon.
I’m over Olitz I kind of want Olivia to be with Jake, Mellie be with Gov. Nichols and for Fitz to end up alone.
What a messy family, lies will do that.
I had a few problems with this episode. One was Adnan’s coming into Olivia’s firm and left in a position to steal from the firm. Yes Harrison was there but why was she in a room where she had access to computers. Wouldn’t those computers be locked tightly? Seemed Adnan had it to easy. From how close Mrs. Pope and Adnan were, it seemed a little to fast to be suddenly afraid of Mrs. Pope. I did not buy it and was surprised Olivia/Harrison did see through her.
I expected one of them to burst through the door with proof of her scam. Maybe there wasn’t enough time. Olivia and Harrison were both distracted.
I’ve a feeling Papa Pope is still in charge somehow and just using Jake. I don’t know but that man has knowledge.
Fritz telling Mellie how she was responsible for the breakdown of their marriage I saw the pain he carried. Fritz had loved and respected her at one time. That surprised Mellie.
FItz did love her. In the flashback before the rape they really did seem like a couple in love. Really sad what Mellie sacrificed to make him the man he is. I feel for the both of them.
* did NOT see through … Adnan’s scam.
Holy balls, Huck is right, Quinn needs to be let back inside the agency. Will Charley and Huck become enemy’s now? Huck and Jake are yummy.
“Really this episode was all about dick.” TT I literally lost my drink when I read that line! Girl you straight killed me with that. Great recap. I know Jake didn’t fit in to your theme, but Cyrus need to sit down before Jake buries him some place unknown. I was like he really tried it coming for Jake like that. LOL
This episode was ALL over the place! I don’t like what they are doing with Quinn. And Huck just doesn’t do good love scenes to me. I think Joe Morton needs to get his job back. The first kids are brats and Millie needs to come clean. My head was twirling after the episode….sigh
I have to agree about all this dick. And all this gratitous sex is making me weary. Sigh. Remember when Olivia was in the business to help people? Is the White House paying her staff’s salary now? I find it hard to believe that Rosen will do every single thing that she asks him to do. Given their history, that just doesn’t seem plausible. The Huck thing seems weird. Olivia just seems to become weaker and weaker week after week. It’s seeming too soap opera-y now. Just my opinion.
AGREED, I’m kinda over it. Sad about it but really.
