I told y’all in the last recap of Real Housewives of Atlanta that Nene Leakes was going to blow a gasket over Kenya Moore’s commercial/interview with Regina Hall about the movie, About Last Night. Kenya looked fabulous and interviewed Regina like a pro. Kevin Hart was there too and even used the phrase “Gone With The Wind Fabulous.” I have to hand it to Kenya, that was a priceless way to throw shade at Nene’s unapologetic dismissal from Hollywood. Add to that the fact that Nene would give her eye, fake, blinding white, Chiclet teeth for a talk show despite being functionally illiterate, and Kenya’s ease in a talk show setting. I knew she was going to lose her mind.
What I did not expect, and did not see coming was that Nene would not be able to handle the backlash from her Pillow Talk debacle. To be fair, I don’t believe for a minute that this idea originated as a game that Nene and Gregg play at night. We all know she keeps Gregg chained in the basement or scrubbing floors. This highly scripted game was the brain child of True Entertainment. Carlos King, one of the executive producers of RHOA has known Nene for a long time. Nene has attempted to sufficiently suck up to him to avoid any really terrible edits in the last few years. Until the Pajama Brawl script came along. Nene has been worried about Kenya Moore stealing her shine since she arrived and I truly think the fact that it is happening now is a result of Nene’s lack of confidence in herself (loud does not mean confident, quite the contrary) that resulted in a self-fulfilling prophecy. Now that her worst nightmare is coming true, she can’t handle it.
Nene is desperately trying to avoid the whole Pajama Brawl scandal with her ravings about mullet dresses for Kmart and “Look at me! In a clothing designer now!” behavior, the wheels are coming off her go cart. Let’s look and the telltale signs.
1) Complete radio silence on twitter during the second episode of the pajama brawl. Generally, unless she is on a plane with no Wi-Fi or cut off from civilization in some other way, Nene is on twitter non stop tweeting about how right she is and how stupid everyone else in while the episode airs. That episode? Nary a peep or even a bloop! Meanwhile if you twitter search here, there are millions of tweets telling her she was wrong and she needs to own up to her mistakes.
2) Her Bravo blog even after the ghost writer/editing by Bravo was frantic:
“Yes, questions were being asked that some were uncomfortable with! I DID NOT write the questions, but I asked them, so blame me for that! I’ll accept that! I’ll even accept you saying I stirred the pot, but I can’t take the blame for uncontrollable adults picking up their fists to fight. Everyone is responsible for their own actions! Well, how do you have a debate without controversy? I guess you don’t! I don’t want to rehash this conversation any more than I already have. I already stated that Kenya charged out of her seat, and whether you could see it or not she did, and I stand by that! I also said Christopher NEVER touched her in an aggressive way. He was only trying to stop her from charging his wife, and I stand by that! I’m the first to tell you that a man should never touch a woman aggressively, and he didn’t! The rest of the ladies on the cast have spoken, so I rest my case.” [Source]
My, that is a lot of exclamation points !!! and that is just the beginning of Nene’s blame game. Blame production! Blame editing for not showing Kenya charge anyone! She doesn’t care what we think, dammit! She is not going to talk about it anymore! Then she tries to insult our intelligence with regard to her gay bashing.
“P.S. Did I hear someone say I was “gay bashing” because I called Brandon a queen? Really? Bravo has a show called Fashion Queens with two very out gay men in women’s clothing, makeup, jewelry, and high heels! Are they “gay bashing”? Try something else, boo, because that won’t work! Girl, bye.”
She has over 650 comments and 95% of them are negative. She realizes her reputation is shot to hell and worse she has alienated a large percentage of the gay community. Nene’s fan base was never educated women over 30 in the first place, but now she has lost her bread and butter just when she is trying to try some new ventures.
3) Nene realizes she her ship is sunk. But she completely refuses to take ownership of this fiasco. THERE IS A WOMAN ON THE SHOW WITH A CRIMINAL HUSBAND GOING TO JAIL AGAIN WHO BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF AN INNOCENT BYSTANDER and yet Nene has managed to get the worst PR of the whole cast over Pajama Brawl. That takes a really arrogant mindset. If she had offered her fans a hint of remorse and an apology, she could have gotten herself out of this. What she has done instead is GET VERY ANGRY. She been throwing a fit for days now. Just go look at her website! She is furiously posting about how great things are in NYC and how she is getting rich and everything is fabulous because she is a designer now! Except for today when she is a television producer. No really. Go look. While you were there you will also see her posting cliché’s about her haters. You know her haters that don’t bother her at all. Which is great because they are posting comments there too. She seems to be deleting the negative ones, which I don’t blame her for, it’s her site. My point is she knows more people hate her than love her at the moment.
4) And finally, and this is my favorite sign she has gone around the bend, she has updated her twitter profile to remove Real Housewives of Atlanta completely. Didn’t see that coming did you? She is so pissed off that in her mind Bravo set her up for this (duh!) she is practically telling the world she is quitting. She is no longer a reality star. Now she is , “Actress, Author, Host, Producer & Clothing Designer.” BWAHAHAHA! I just can’t sorry. I try not to laugh at people’s failures. But Nene has been such an arrogant ass for the past few years, I don’t feel the least bit badly for laughing at her fan base imploding in her face. I’ll never forget Nene sitting in da club mocking her twitter followers who had come to her meet and greet. #Karma.
