Time for some Real Housewives of Atlanta. Everyone has a new tag line this season.
Nene: I live to be the star, and I am definitely in charge!
Kandi: Music may be my passion but family is forever.
Cynthia: My business is beauty, and I’m the boss.
Porsha: I am still standing and I’m making my own rules!
Phaedra: A true southern belle knows her own worth and I am priceless.
Kenya: People think they have me figured out, but I’m always the wild card.
And those six ladies are the only ones holding a peach! So we can finally squash all the rumors about getting a new housewife! I do think we may have a new friend or two, including Marlo.
Don’t keep reading if you want the first episode to be a surprise next Sunday. You can bookmark this post and come back later.
We start of with Nene and Gregg in a sea of wedding gifts. She makes a point to open her two Tiffany boxes (crystal vase, crystal ice bucket) and the Hermes box on camera (plate from Teresa and Joe bought with fraud money) and the cheese cutting board from Porsha. That sets up the next scene with Porsha.
Porsha and her sister Lauren head to the divorce attorney. The lawyer wants to know why Kordell didn’t tell her he was filing. She still claims she found out about the divorce on Twitter. Porsha is crying and hoping that they can reconcile. By the way, Porsha looks stunning.
Speaking of crying, Cynthia is teary-eyed moving out of the Bailey Agency. The editing is already miles better than it has been since Carlos King is back on the job. It is amazing the difference he makes to the show. Cynthia is moving into a warehouse across the street from Bar One. Apparently, Peter just took their money and bought the place without even informing Cynthia. She is not amused. She also has changed the name of her company to Industry Studios. Why? That seems highly peculiar to me.
Then out of nowhere in walks Kenya Moore. Cynthia hasn’t seen or heard from her in months. She heard she was
prostituting herself in Dubai ALLEGEDLY in Africa. Cynthia is having an opening party for her new space and she invited Kenya. Then she asks about her eviction and Kenya is such a terrible liar. Kenya can’t figure out why no one reached out for her in her time of hardship. Cynthia is like, um… seriously? Porsha is getting a divorce, and Phaedra had her baby and we have all moved on, girl. Kenya makes sure to remind us she does not care for Porsha or Phaedra. Kenya is pissed at Nene because Walter was invited to her wedding. Kenya was not even at the wedding so how is that an issue for her?
Phaedra and Apollo have a new house in Buckhead! It’s about time she got out of that condo. She calls Buckhead the 90210 of the south. And that was certainly true twenty years ago. It’s still a great location though. They are apparently renovating the whole thing with a new baby in the house. Oh Lawd, Phaedra says that since her first son was her prince, she is calling this one Mr. President. Because all of Phaedra’s babies need titles.
Phaedra claims she had an emergency C-section when Dylan was born. But somehow, Bravo camera were right there in the operating room when he came out. We get to see the tiny little afterbirth coated kid before she did. Phaedra wore ginormous lashes during the delivery. She said the Dylan was tiny and as pale a Michael Jackson.
Kandi and Todd have some kitchen table talk to prove that she is not a sugar mama. Todd talks about his production work. Mama Joyce and Todd are not getting along. Todd says that the RHOA are to blame for Porsha and Kordell’s divorce. He’s probably right.
Nene and Porsha go to lunch at Southern Art. And I am jealous! That is Art Smith’s restaurant. It looked like they may have just had drinks. But they never show the RHOA eating. They usually eat after the filming for continuity reasons because of all the retakes.
Porsha’s mother has a big old McMansion and Porsha goes straight to it after her divorce deposition. Porsha was hoping for answers about why Kordell filed for divorce. Her mother says that she was upset when Porsha had a miscarriage and was in the hospital for a week and Kordell only showed up once. Porsha brings up the gay rumors.
It’s time for a forced attendance party by Bravo. The guise is Cynthia Bailey’s opening of Industry Studios. It seems that Industry Studios will be the umbrella company for The Bailey Agency and the Bailey Agency still exists. It’s a white party. Have these girls learned NOTHING from Kyle Richards? Let the brawling begin. And I will leave you hanging right here so that everything won’t be spoiled. 🙂
Overall in the preview reel, it looks like Nene tries to be supportive of Porsha but they have a falling out where Nene calls her a bad friend. Porsha ends up in the hospital for some reason. Of course Kenya got evicted. Mama Joyce and Todd have major issues with each other. She is NOT happy with him. There is an ambulance scene which is probably for Porsha but could be for someone else. Porsha’s sister Lauren looks like she will essentially be a friend of the housewives. She was in several of Porsha’s scenes. The girls go to Savannah and experience the haunted houses. Nobody likes Kenya.
