We are waiting on a little Prince or Princess of Cambridge! Because of recent changes to the royal line of succession it doesn’t matter if it is a boy or a girl because the little prince or princess will be third in line for the throne. In the line of succession, the child will be third after Prince Charles, 64, and William, 31. Prince Harry will be knocked down to fourth. Sucks to be the spare I suppose.
Bets are being taken all over the world with Alexandra being a major front runner for a girl and James for a boy. There has been nothing official to support it, but the general feeling amongst the Brits is that she is having a girl.
These kids generally have eleventy billion names, and don’t announce them for weeks or months but I am just in the mood for a Prince Oliver or a Princess Tamara. What about y’all?
It is kind of fun.
It’s always special when any new life arrives, royal or otherwise.
Yes – wishing all the best to all the new babies and their parents all over the world.
Pffft, I bet Harry is thrilled to be moved down a notch. Everything about him screams that he is far too “normal” of a royal to be on the throne. He seems to love being in the military and playing the field.
I’d like a Prince Percival or a Princess Agatha.
OOOOh Princess Hermione!
I hope it is a girl and maybe they name her Diana. Labor is long. I was in labor 70 hours. In Europe we don’t do all the fancy stuff you American’s do, you go, sit in a room or a tub, feel like you will die, then out pops baby. Here is fun fact, Finland was rated #1 for being a mother! You get a box for your baby to sleep in, clothes, a home nurse and a year off with pay, this goes for both mother and father!
I hope it’s a boy, and they hold him out over the crowd while singing the Lion King song.
LOL!
That would actually be very emotional, just like in the Lion King.
Baby boy born at 4:30pm London time, no news on name as yet
Just been announced on BBC that it’s a boy, 8lb 6oz
“There will soon be only five kings left — the kings of England, Diamonds, Hearts, Spades and Clubs.” – King Farouk of England
Egypt not England. Whoops Freudian slip
its a boy so Steven would be a good name. 🙂
There is a precedent – there was was a King Stephen in the middle ages. He and Queen Mathilda fought a civil war for the crown 🙂
I am a history major and I can not convey how amazed I am by the continuation of this event. I am going with Albert . WWII changed the names. The continent gesture.
I think he’ll be called George, in honour of his great great grandfather’s official name. Plus it’s the name Prince Charles is rumoured to have chosen to use when he becomes King. (It is said he won’t use Charles due to poor associations with the two previous monarchs.)
I’m thinking it will be Arthur, but secretly hoping for James. I highly doubt there will be any kind of Spencer nod.
James would be a good choice, it’s a traditional royal name, but as you say it has spencer connections, so maybe not. Although the papers are reporting that the Palace have said they won’t insist on limiting the names to the usual list, that it’s up to Will and Kate
Just checked my quote . It is “The whole world is in revolt, soon there shall be five kings left, the King of England, and the four kings in a pack of cards.” Whether or not he went on to name the four kings in a deck is disputed.I love my quotes.
The “Royal Bump” has arrived! Sound the trumpets, blow the horns, send a diamond encrusted rattler! If I had a royal kid, I’d name him Royal, so nobody would ever forget it. Prince Royal has a certain, shove it in your face, I’m King material, kind of feel about it. Still, in my heart of hearts, he will always be little Bumpie to me 😉
I WAS DYING not being able to post with y’all about this! I watched CNN for the announcement, and as soon as the dude with the funny hat came out to do his thing, THEY TALKED OVER HIM saying things like “Well this is the moment we have all been waiting for this guy right here is announcing the birth…” Stupid fucks.
I am still feeling Oliver. I have no idea why I want this but I do. Premonition? Surely one of the dozen names could be Oliver, right? 🙂
I don’t think it would be Oliver, because of Oliver Cromwell. He was the Protector General in the 1600s, and one of the men responsible for executing Charles 1st, during the civil war. It’s a lovely name though
Dang it! I was all syked to watch last night’s episode of Siberia, and I hit play and it’s a special on the new royal baby. bummer.
Oh well… guess I’ll watch it since I have it.
It’s official……Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge.
No OLIVER? I was sure I had a psychic premonition! lol
Maybe there’s an “Oliver” in YOUR future. Oliver would be a really cute name for a little dog. Banjo might like a new brother to play with. Or better yet, Oliver is a good name for a new boyfriend! 🙂
