Glee Star Cory Monteith Dies After Struggling With Substance Abuse

July 14, 2013 by tamaratattles 20 Comments

According to twitter, Cory and Lea Michelle, his fiancée and co-star were to be married in just two weeks. What a horrific thing for her to go through, burying her fiancé instead of having a long awaited wedding. It is believed that when Cory checked himself into rehab, he was attempting to put his final demons to rest in preparation for his new life with Lea.

Is it just me or does this day just keep on sucking? I’m off to look for some lighthearted news.

Very sad story. Drug abuse is a terrible epidemic. I have lost a few family members and close friends to drugs/alcohol.

It’s so tragic when we see kids, with this kind of talent, stalked by their demons. Like you TT, I’m ready for a brainless blog, thank god NJ is on tonight.

Okay. It is a little tiny bit funny to read all the Glee fans comments on the twatter. There I admit it.

Jack Kornfield says that in the end only three things will matter:
        How well we have lived.
        How well we have loved
And how well we have learned to let go.

Both my girls have something pretty big going on in their life today… so I had to keep them off of social media! The only was I could keep them happy!

many of my friends are fighting right now over texas abortion & death penalty (esp how a woman’s right to choose “disrespects a man’s right to choose, too” — SMH), about zimmerman, and now about poor cory monteith and whether it’s just too bad and “he brought it on himself” versus demon drugs and how they bring down such talented people — just a terrible day of anger, frustration, despair. sometimes it really does feel like one step forward, two steps back. i’m with you. something mindless and silly would be great just about now.

A man’s right to choose…that’ll be the day. I can see it now, and then all of these men who choose to make the woman carry the baby, about 6 months in change their mind, and then who is left with the responsibility?

I recommend playing the Norman video over several times. It always puts a grin on my face. Hug your kids, cats and dogs and tell them you love them.

You know the adage for layers: never ask a question you don’t know the answer to?
-Lawyers should never ask a Mississippi grandma a question if they aren’t prepared for the answer.

In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, ‘Mrs. Jones, do you know me?’ She responded, ‘Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I’ve known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you’ve been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you’re a big shot when you haven’t the brains to realize you’ll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.’

The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, ‘Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?’

She again replied, ‘Why yes, I do. I’ve known Mr. Bradley since he was a
youngster, too. He’s lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can’t build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.’

    The defense attorney nearly died.

The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said,

‘If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I’ll send you both to the electric chair.’

NEW YORK – July 15, 2013 – Bravo Media’s “Inside the Actors Studio,” hosted by James Lipton, pays tribute to “Glee” star Cory Monteith with a special broadcast of his appearance on the award-winning series on Thursday, July 18 at 6pm ET/PT. Bravo will encore the episode, which originally aired on Monday, April 9, 2012, on Friday, July 19 at 7pm ET/PT.

“When I appeared as myself on ‘Glee,’” Lipton said, “I auditioned Cory’s character, Finn, for the Actors Studio Drama School – and rejected him. That’s the way Ryan Murphy wrote it. I would have admitted him – in a New York minute. Of course you’ll want to know how Cory responded when I asked him the question, ‘If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?’ Cory’s God said, ‘Uh, sorry I haven’t been around. There’s a good explanation.’ I certainly hope there is. We needed Cory’s gifts.”
