Dateline Obsession the Jodi Arias Story

dateline3I’m not sure if I am going to be awake to watch this or not but I thought you guys might like a place to discuss it. Especially if anything juicy happens. Looks like Donavan will be on. Sheesh. Not sure if I can stomach that. Too bad Jodi can’t watch from her padded cell. If anyone wants to recap for those that miss it, that would be great!

Okay that was a lot of stuff we all already knew. Like Steve says, it was mostly a chance for us to quietly correct the show on minor errors. LOL.

I did find out some new stuff on twitter today. Sherrif Joe put Jodi on suicide watch for the interview and the tweet that mentioned suicide as her only other alternative. He also got the twitter account shut down. ALSO, Jodi’s mom was not allowed to visit today in the psych ward because she had already had her weekly allotment of visits. Joe is not playing with Jodi. ๐Ÿ™‚

Meanwhile the Judge is not allowing public record requests until after sentencing! That’s sort of ballsy for such a nondescript judge. So the PHX reporter is unable to get a list of visitors to the psych ward.

They have not had the ruling on the defense motion regarding family victim restrictions. It may not happen until Wed but you would think they could do that Mon or Tues since the reason things are on hold until Wed is Dr. Horne is unavailable Mon and Tues..

Most all of this comes from MaryEllen Resendez, a PHX reporter for ABC.

I just have to state a fact. Our system of justice has mostly worked for almost 250 years. It ain’t going to break for JA. I heard that she’s probably in a small plexiglass room about the size of her cell, in a paper gown, no sheets on the bed, and being observed 24/7. She may want to think carefully before she uses that ‘I just want to die and be free’ line on Sheriff Joe again.

I was going to suggest that you do something about SEC football this fall to keep the men who have joined us. Must admit to being a big fan of college football, especially the SEC. You could get all the ‘tea’ from Athens. Maybe ask Nene or Phadrea to help??? Go Dawgs!

Did 20/20 build this entire set of Travis’s apt? It’s WAY WAY better than HLN’s seems like a lot of money for an hour episode, no?

20-20 did a way better job and only gave ja 30 minutes the first 30 were the ohio girls. THAT DUDE NEEDS DEATH PENALTY TOO. And they also had about 30 seconds of unaired 08 interview so something new just typical jodi flirt n lie.

Damn, I missed both of these because I was at the Garden watching the Bruins lose to the Leafs grrrrrrrr. I hope I can catch them either on demand or online. I will be furious if the judge makes the family tape their statements! They have the right to tell her to her face what they think of her. The jury has spoken-she killed their family member.

      Oh the Garden…man, I miss those days watching the Bruins when I lived in Boston. Not to age me but that were the days of Cam Neely and Ray Bourque. {sigh}

is this hockey? Basketball? what? And people care about either? College football. That is all that matters.

You Southerners….Hockey, for many East Coasters, is all that matters. If nothing else, the fights in the stands are even better than the puck action on the ice. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, and tell me who is the more skilled athlete — the guy covered in body armor running a large pigskin-covered, pointy ball down 100 yards of grass trying to get it over a line that is about 160 feet wide, or a guy skating on ice backwards, forwards and sideways pushing a small black puck down a 200-foot ice rink trying to whack inside a 6-foot wide net? Uhhh???

When I was in graduate school in Boston, I fantasized about Cam and Ray. Yum! (And I was *dating* — euphemism for another word that starts with an “f” — a New York Knicks coach at the time, so even the NBA and the Celtics were not as exciting as the Bruins! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m from Toronto and was thrilled with the outcome of the game! I’m in Calgary visiting my daughter and was able to see Dateline after the game. There was nothing new to report – just the same old, same old.

So it was that hockey thing? okay. I was just sitting here thinking about Sunday. I will be most likely watching three hours of survivor but at 11 I will be watching WWHL with Sheree Whitfield. I wonder if people will be asking @bravoandy why she keeps dragging TT into court.?

I fell asleep too… 20/20 – Murder In/t 1st [Cnn] and Obsession ran from 9 to 10 PM. I DVR’d them all – but realized Dr.Drew ran @ 9 unscheduled. What to do ? Actually Drew was sort of a good one – they were all screaming @ Dr.Drew about his insistence that there are REAL mental hospitals in prisons and how Arias’ “state of mind” must have been legitimate. Apparently he got hammered on twitter, so his panel were all screaming @ each other too…ha ! Truthfully, I missed watching Smash this week ๐Ÿ™ …and my husband wanted nothing to do with any of them. So I’ll go watch my DVR w/o commercials this weekend. I did heard there wasn’t any new revelations & probably nothing more than the astute bloggers of TT haven’t already shared. If there is anything new – I could post later.

Last nightโ€™s Dateline brought out the fact that the Mormon Church believe if you donโ€™t repent about having premarital sex before you die, you will go to hell. This really makes me think that Jodi, in her utterly deluded mind, was not only trying to kill Travis, she was trying to send him to eternal Hell!

So if you believe that sort of thing (not that there is a hell as much as “if you have premarital sex, that’s your ultimate destination”), then Jodi *should* want the death penalty so she can join him there quicker. I, however, would like to think that hell is reserved for the Jodi’s of the world and not the Travis’.

I am just watching it now on msnbc and that struck me too! I hadn’t heard that before, and it shocked me. If Travis’ family believe that, then this must be even MORE painful for them…the thought of your loved one condemned. And Jodi of course knew this, having read the Book of Mormon from front to back. I have said previously that I couldn’t give Jodi the DP because she needs time to repent and beg for forgiveness-a LOT more than the 12 year average. But if she had sex with Travis, and tempted him purposely so he wouldn’t have time to repent before she killed him-then yeah, she deserves to go where she wanted to send Travis. Now I could give her death. She is pure evil
