VERDICT! IN JODI ARIAS TRIAL!

May 8, 2013 by tamaratattles 236 Comments

verdict_logoThe jury in the Jodi Arias case has reached a verdict after 15 hours. Now we just watch the over-invested house fraus on HLN cry and moan until it is announced at 4:30 ET. Who had Wednesday after lunch?

Meanwhile I have PMS and cramps for those of you keeping up with my symptoms of the day and I may sleep through the whole thing… TELL ME EVERYTHING!

Man I hope it’s first degree. I don’t even care if it ends up death penalty or not, but it is a heinous first degree murder, no doubt about it. Watching those women cry outside the courthouse touched me. I would normally say, wow, flakey much? But after watching this trial myself, I can only imagine what a more sensitive person sitting in that courtroom the entire trial would feel. They probably feel like part of Travis’s family.

She hasn’t been sentenced to anything as of yet. She was charged with murder and has been awaiting trial (now tried) and this is the phase for sentencing. Not guilty is a possibility that this jury can consider however unlikely as she has confessed.

O, Tori, let’s see… I think it might well mean that – murder committed in the commission of a felony the felony being ripping off Travis’ own gun. Whether “felony” could extend to the theory of a gun stolen from Grandpa, I don’t know. Interesting, point! Don’t know how close together in time the felony & the murder have to be. Could the felony have also been breaking & entering? Guess not – due to sex acts. But, could the felony be that she (not kidnapped but…. ) held him against his will and THEN murdered him in the process? Someone smart will help us here, Tori.

I knew Tamara would help us. But, Tamara, couldn’t they say pre-med based on theory of gas cans, car rental, license plates, blah blah and knowledge that Travis owned a gun & knives? (I, of course, KNOW she stole the gun from Gramps, but… ) Somehow, I thought felony murder had to have murder during commission of felony… what were the other felony scenario options? (Anytime, now, I’m going to get fired and be forced to write crime novels.)

Then, something others are reading as emotion. i read eyes appealing to jurors – which, yet again, show a failure to chart reality. And does 1st degree murder earn her a different style of accommodation (I know DP does) – again, right off the bat, as in tonight? In other words, as she walked back through those courtroom doors did the axe fall immediately, setting off a whole new reality?

She will stay in the county jail until after sentencing and then head to the state penitentiary. Hope Nancy Grace hears that things change for her tonight when she gets back to jail as a convicted murderer. As for the solitary confinement, that will only come if she gets the DP. Life in Prison will give her too many privileges. Anyway, I am so thankful for the verdict! Love and prayers to Travis’ family and friends.

I wondered what that was. Thought it was just her attempt to appear casual & confident. Hate the Mona Lisa smile bit she came in with. I’m not convinced that she displayed much emotion at all, real or otherwise (a glint, perhaps & one intake of breath), so, I’ll defer to others on that. Not sure how to read the sustained turn back to family. Face didn’t give anything away to me. Seemed emotionless.

You know I loves me some Jinky, but she’s not very reliable. She looked back when the back row was being polled. At that point everyone elses eyes in that courtroom were on the jurors. She could have flashed her tits and no one would have seen it but us.

Oh, yeah, the story of Brier Rabbit when he said , “Whatever you do, please don’t throw me in the briar patch.” JA said she has consistently said she wanted death over life in prison. I’ve been following this pretty closely and the only time I heard her say she wanted death was when she told Det. Flores that if she did this to Travis she would beg for the death penalty. Those are folks seeking attention only, rarely do they ever accomplish what they threaten. She is bluffing for the attention! She’ll never commit suicide – she had way too many opportunities before going to jail and in jail. She wasn’t on suicide watch then!

One of the great moments of the trial to me was when JM was asking her about wanting to kill herself. She gives the little talk about saving the razor, padding her bunk so she wouldn’t make a mess on her bunkmate below (cause she cares so much for others doncha know?), and scratching herself and stopping b/c it hurt so badly. JM answered, “Can you imagine how it hurt TA when you stuck that knife in his heart?” BOOM!!! Blew her up with that question. I am a suicide suvivor since I lost my daddy to suicide at 19. He didn’t threaten, threaten, threaten. He pulled the trigger. JA is not fit to say my daddy’s name.

Mar-teen- eeze, for Martinez, He did a great job. The jury got it right . I kept thinking about how the jury was in that room with all those horrid photo’s drenched with all those disgusting e-mails and sext tapes. I hope they all got a good shower to wash off all the Jodi jerms. It’s been a long 4 years for Travis , and now healing can begin. I only hope that the civil suit will put a stop to all the dirty lies jodi keeps spewing out.

In the Fox interview tonight Jodi had the nerve to say she was praying for each juror! Well I wonder,on Gods “Continuium of sin” ie:theTen Commandments,if my figures are right Jodi has broken at least 8 commandments putting her in the Hottest category in the “Continuim” ,indicating she will burn in hell for infinity!

Watched all five segments on MyFoxPhoenix of the interviews with Jodi Arias and, by God, that woman is so incredibly sick and will never, ever accept responsibility for anything. Here are some excerpts of her responses to the reporter’s incessant “what are your thoughts on that?”:

    1) Did she avoid eye contact with Travis’ family during the trial? “I typically avoided eye contact. Travis comes from a family where they all sort of look a lot alike so when I see their faces, I see Travis and I see the man that abused me and I don’t want to look at that.”

    2) What are your thoughts on Juan? “Ummm, well, prior to trial, I respected Juan as a very capable attorney. Ummm, even though he’s done some very shady things in my case as far as hiding evidence and failing to disclose certain things hoping it would just go away. But in the end what does it matter? It didn’t help my case. His accusation that I was seeking fame is absurd.”

    3) Was Twitter your idea? “It just became sort of an idea that I thought of in February and we decided to go for it. I don’t regret it. I think there’s a little bit of satisfaction gained from being able to just impart my ideas and my thoughts and sort of let people know where I’m coming from. You don’t have to read it if you don’t like it.”

    4) What are your thoughts on your mom? “As far as my mom, I feel that I don’t deserve her. She’s a saint and I have not treated her very well.”

    5) The jury didn’t believe your story. What are your thoughts on that? “I can understand that, I think, because of the lies that I told in the beginning to try to cover up this, cover up that, to hide the things that I didn’t want to made public.”

And the worst of all is this:

    6) “It’s not like I went up [to Utah] because I was hoping to pursue a relationship. I went up there because I thought ‘oh crap, I need to keep my schedule.’ So I went up there almost because I felt a sense of obligation inside in order to keep up the pretense. Not because I was going up there to have fun.”

    7) Do you still think about Travis and in what way? “Yes. Ummm, there’s a lot of regret because I was really hoping to get a plea and avoid talking about all of the things that came out about him. If we had been able to avoid trial, we could have avoided just the murkier aspects of his life that he kept hidden and these aren’t just things that came from my mouth. They are his own words, his own e-mails, his own text messages. The activities that he was up to, photographs that showed that as well. And none of that would ever have come to light; it would have just been forgotten. He would have been memorialized as, umm, not perfect by any means, but somebody who was known to adhere to his morals and the principles that he espoused. But now the curtain has been drawn and you can see the hypocrisy and everything that was there. And I regret that because although I know even though he was living the life of a hypocrite, that was not how he wanted to be perceived and I think inside he didn’t really want to live that kind of life.”

    8) What about the pedophilia? “Well, again, he’s fantasizing about having sex with a 12-year-old on the tape. That’s pedophilia by definition.”

Numbers 7 and 8 are her “gotcha! I still won!” bullshit. What a psycho bitch.

Wow. 7 and 8 are pretty sh!tty, and the Utah thing about keepin her schedule is just hideous. So she just admitted she was trying to cover up by keeping to a schedule. What an idiot. I love how she calls Travis a hypocrite…for sleeping with her, who was also in the church. She really deserves death because she will never feel remorse.

He’s the prosecutor for goodness sake – nothing he’s going to have is going to help her! And if it did – why not keep it hidden! She’s totally insane. I have to say, although her defense team trashed Travis (which was so wrong on their part), at this time I really feel a little sorry for them. To deal with somebody who is so mental, going against everything they tell her. Honestly, can’t they just refuse at this point?

I believe the “evidence” that JM did not allow or as she said hid, are the fake journals that she caused to be manufactured that indicated Travis was abusive and a pedophile. The court ruled that they were fakes and did not allow them into the trial. The fake journals and the message in the magazine are linked.

Pur, thanks for your post! I left for work after the verdict & didn’t return ’til after midnight (west coast time.) I left thinking that one thing, at least, had been set right in the world, that the Alexander Family could put one piece of this hideous ordeal behind them & that we, the supporters, could (if we would) take a breath. Well, what a naive fool I am. I absolutely DID NOT see this coming. At some point, sure… but never this timing. Never this soon.

The psychopathy, embedded in the answers, is obvious. We’re used to it, know it by heart – classic Arias. As we speak, the interview transcript & video are being raked with a fine tooth comb &, no doubt, will be analyzed ad nauseum for some time to come. For good reason… such a stunning specimen of whatever the hell this particular apparition of female mind & behavior is! Goody for that.

Far more stunning & appalling to me is that this interview took place at all. Whose sociopathy allowed this to happen? Who is it exactly, who is themselves so twisted, so off the rails of what is right, that they thought the most valuable way to meet the moment was to allow this woman the last word of the day? That’s essentially what happened. Some utter goof (some team of creeps) ENABLED Arias to have the last word of the day.

This required serious orchestration, no? I can’t even put it together, logistically, in my mind: Arias is convicted of 1st degree murder? Arias is escorted out courtroom sidedoor? Arias is permitted to meet briefly w/ family, defense counsel? Arias puts stripes on in courthouse basement? Arias is transported from basement to jail? All under guard? All routine & appropriately stark?

BUT NO!! Arias is convicted of 1st degree murder. Arias is escorted out of courtroom door, already full tilt boogey manipulating every molecule in her midst. Arias blah blahs & emotes & acts out… AND applies makeup, sits for lighting, adjusts her clothing, checks her eye line & audio, approves interview questions, mentally reviews her lines, gets into character…….

What the f*** just happened?! Who’s did this?! Is this without consequence? Seriously, is this allowed?

(Apologies for length… but, for the love of god… !)

Puravita.. Thanks for posting the interview. Wow ! ~ I only saw parts of it. Mind boggling. – TT seems like a ghost town. I hope Tamara is ok & feeling better. Watching the interview – I tried to imagine what it would be like to have her as child, a teen, or a girl-relative. I mean, oh god how would – or could you get past the lying, get through that strange & frightening persona ? Like you’d wan’t to shake her awake or set a firecracker off at her. Ughhh. Really – she seems like an ALIEN to me, like “a something” out of bad movie. I’ve always thought she has a plastic sheeny-thing about her – she looks like a child’s doll. In this interview, up close, it’s really evident. I, so go on my instincts and “there’s just something NOT quite right about that GIRL.” If she was boardline before – I’m guessing this horrific murder coupled with narrcistic overdose has pushed that boarderline over into the psychotic column. I suspect she has been this way since she was a child – Oh god ! She deeply disturbs every sensory fiber of my being in a very unnatural way and I’ve never felt that from another human being before. – Not like that. I noticed Willmot looked sucked dry & ashen gray today and they are evidently no longer pals. These lawyers will probably need a shrink now. Everyone seemed pensive around her. Up close you can see something waxy – I think Arias has a vampir` effect on men that are unaware they’re emotionally vunerable and not just with her sexuality. It’s on another level – like a dog whistle. Shark’s eyes ! – Preditor ? …the eyes are the windows to the soul…

I had an employee who we always called a psychopath…………”I didn’t mean to”….”It wasn’t my fault”. Very narcissistic and self-absorbed but had a shallow and rough side to her that we all sensed and yet she hid alot of it fairly well. She had run in with police and literally told three of us different versions of what happened (i got the “mom” version another got the “friend” version, a third the “please don’t judge me” version. The episode involved “an abusive boyfriend and a gun”) We ended up in an unemployment hearing because she failed to show up for work but claimed she was fired. Thank God that I brought 2 employees with me for all of the lies she told which were immediately countered by her co-workers. To this day, those who know me know that, were I murdered, she is one on the top of the list. (not that she is the ONLY one on the list, though LOL)

Did anybody notice mention of Jodi’s poor frail grandmother. Seems she didn’t need that wheelchair to get around after the verdict. The news channels have reported that she was just fine, walking from the car to the jail and downstairs to visit Jodi and then walking back out. Was that a ploy by the defense team or Jodi herself? Did she call the shots on a lot of the things that were said about Travis? It certainly would make me dislike Wilmott and Nurmi a lot less.

There is nothing to dislike about the defense attorneys. They are doing their job.
They can advise their client until they are blue in the face, but it was her decision ultimately how to plead and what defense to present.
Excellent example is her interview yesterday. Even a first year law student would of said do not do it. She did because she has the final say.
There have also been many defendants who have done everything in their power to manipulate and sabotage their defense while at the same time pleading their innocence. i think in years to come after she is dead or gives permission for her lawyers to talk, you will hear exactly i said happened , actually happened.
Certain mental illness is usually the culprit of such behavior and if i am right will come out on appeal at some point too.
I am NOT saying she is insane, but mentally ill to the point where she does this kind of stuff.
At some point i would hope she is examined by several competent mental health professionals, not these bozo’s which include Demarte. I think she is ill beyond boarderline, probably has a mixture of things. I am also thinking arrested development too.
I am also not saying she is innocent or couldnt help it, but personally i have always been interested in why these people do what they do.

Wilmott and Nurmi may be great people in another situation – but not this one. As my boss states – it is a thankless job. Having an adopted parent who herself experienced mental issues, suicide threats, etc., our home life was not a picnic. Just the little that I know about types of mental issues and their causes, there are some people who are just insane. Jodi is at the top of the insantity chart.

I believe this part is to decide if TA suffered as she murdered him. If they agree that he suffered, and why wouldn’t they, they will go to the penalty phase. So think of these last 2 as mini-trials. I don’t know if she gets to offer mitigation in this phase or the next. JA will be allowed to ask for her life or death if that’s what she still wants. Me, I think she loves herself too much to ask for death.

There is a 3rd phase when she will receive her sentence. HLN is calling this the extreme cruelty phase. In Arizona, if the jury is not unamious in the last phase, life or death, then a new jury will be brought in to decide. I may certainly be wrong but this is what I think I’ve heard.

I think this is pretty common. It doesn’t necessarily mean she is suicidal. Though I suppose going on national TV asking for death would make it a requirement. If she did off herself, the family could use her news conference as evidence they failed to protect her from herself. Perhaps they should put her in a straight jacket just to be sure.

Speaking of that interview… Her defense team can use it as well. They may ask for a competency hearing at this point on the basis that she is not mentally capable of contributing to her defense. Although, since the verdict has been handed down, that may not be a necessary component for the rest of the case.

Also on the interview, the interviewer told Greta Sustern that Jodi was sure Nurmi was serious about the 9 out of 10 day comment. Jodi and Nurmi did not get along well at all.
