The jury in the Jodi Arias case has reached a verdict after 15 hours. Now we just watch the over-invested house fraus on HLN cry and moan until it is announced at 4:30 ET. Who had Wednesday after lunch?
Meanwhile I have PMS and cramps for those of you keeping up with my symptoms of the day and I may sleep through the whole thing… TELL ME EVERYTHING!
I thought Wednesday afternoon all along but didn’t put it in writing on here. I think (hope) it’s 1st Degree Guilty Pre-meditated
Life W/O parole. I hope. She’s had enough attention.
I agree with you on her being guilty of a lesser charge than st degree.
She is a cold blooded killer. Period. I’m just tired of hearing about that nasty bitch. Lesser charge lol
Errrg. This is only the guilt/innocence phase. Penalty phase comes later. That means more trial time. She aint done yet.
kh
Grrrrrr. (WHY is this distinction such a stumbling block? Making me edgy.)
Oh, sorry I got ahead of myself, didn’t mean to upset anyone. I just hope she is found guilty and gets at least Life W/O parole.
Sunny, ignore me entirely. Look at me, blaming my edginess on others – what an as*!! I w/ you, fingers crossed for guilty, 1st degree, life w/O parole is my general stance (but wouldn’t stand against 11 voting DP.)
Man I hope it’s first degree. I don’t even care if it ends up death penalty or not, but it is a heinous first degree murder, no doubt about it. Watching those women cry outside the courthouse touched me. I would normally say, wow, flakey much? But after watching this trial myself, I can only imagine what a more sensitive person sitting in that courtroom the entire trial would feel. They probably feel like part of Travis’s family.
I’m going to go to class so please let me know the verdict. Can you watch it online?
http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/category/234796/live-video2
kh
Could it possibly be a hung jury??
>>TVFishBowl โ@TVFishBowl
Uh oh, 4 jurors 2 men 2 women walked out separately from the others, hung jury?
they reached a verdict.
No! They wouldn’t be saying “verdict in” if they were hung..
Plus the judge would have made them keep trying at least once if that was happening.
of course there could be a hung jury, at least the male jurors ๐
lol
VERDICT!
Thanks, that’s why I asked ;0)
I think it will be 2nd degree
Wish I didn’t share your feeling.
I hope not
me too me too me too me too!
Murder in the first. But no DP. Just a wild guess, of course!!!
Death penalty or not comes later if she is found guilty of 1st degree murder.
I hope she is shaking in her flip flops!!!!!!!! She should be……..
Silly Linda Sue, she’s bitten off a chunk of the foam & using it to apply her translucent powder. (And, seriously, have we ever really seen her shake?) ๐
I want to run a quick errand before 4:30 but I’m afraid I’m going to miss one of the HLN people’s head exploding as they work themselves into a frenzy.
I vote JaneValez. She’s been dam near apopleptic for a few days now. That is one high strung broad.
kh
I’m fairly certain she’s not faking her orgasm….she’ll be scouring the crowd for a ciggie in a minute.
Im so nervous!! I jst keep thinking Justice for Travis ๐
I am nervous, too, although no reason to have that feeling.
Justice would be first degree premeditated…..
I remember Donovan saying that Jodi believed it was going to be a mistrial !!!!
Consider the source…
Sounds like more of the Laws of Attraction bullshit to me.
kh
lmao the secret. . .
Keep thinking, “gosh,” I’m a tad over-invested (now, don’t everyone lunge for the keyboard at once an’ type “YA THINK!”)… ahhh, but, then, I think of the Lovely Donovan and reassure myself that I’ve still got a bit of wiggle room left.
@Jane, no problem, I followed that “other” case and I was the same way. I haven’t followed this one other than reading what you guys say so I’m a little lost. No worries. ๐
If she gets DP, so be it, she deserves it, no doubt but I did lose my head for a minute. I’ve been outside, the heat did it.
Here, too! The sun got in my eye.
She may as well stay in the basement…closer to where shes headed!!!
I wish she’d have her stripes on when the 1st degree murder verdict is read .
i wish ryan smith wasnt on now, his ears are so distracting
I wish Nancy Grace would crash into shut-up mountain.
kh
Hilarious!
I know… so NOW – SHE’s talking about refraining from mob-justice … ! She, who gathers carrion crows about her.
“Carrion Crows Crash Into Shut Up Mountain” – how headlines are born!
lol @ Nancy Grace calling Jinkasaurus old faithful
I feel ill. I can only imagine how Travis’s family is feeling.
They keep talking about Jolene #16 being the defiant one yesterday. the teary eyed one today And the one that looks like Jodi’s Mother! Thought she was the redhead!
Interesting…. teary eyed, today.
Excused jurors 8, 11 (males) are in the house. I must say I agree w/ N. Grace about the “horse trading”. It’s what I was wondering could happen. Horse-trading wherein a jury member says I will give on Murder 1 but all of you have to give me no death penalty.
I don’t understand something and need y’all’s assistance. How the FUCK can she “walk free” when she admitted to killing TA? Shouldn’t the judge then add more years to that sentence? Forgive me for being a bit of a doofus.
She hasn’t been sentenced to anything as of yet. She was charged with murder and has been awaiting trial (now tried) and this is the phase for sentencing. Not guilty is a possibility that this jury can consider however unlikely as she has confessed.
I guess if she was found guilty of the lesser of the lesser charge she would have already served her time. She has been jail for some years now. kh
Tamara, over-invested is a perfect description of anyone who would stand in the Arizona heat on that baking cement courtyard just to see less than what they could see on tv. It’s perverse and freaky. #MadameDeFarge
I agree. No need to get up and bathe when I can lay here in my own filth and see Jodi on muh teevee…
On Wed, May 8, 2013 at 4:04 PM, Tamara Tattles
I agree.
My daughter and i went to the courthouse back in March. But, there was no way i would ever sit there and wait or wake up at 4 am to grab a seat. We saw all the family members and talked with a court official for awhile and left. Oh, i did meet Beth Karas and that was great. She was extremely nice and genuine.
I was there to see my daughter, not be a crazy person.
So does anyone think the majority jurors had to move a few off of 2nd degree?
Jury is about to enter the court roomโฆ here we go. Justice mojoโฆ. hereโs goes for Travis Alexander and that awful awful night. ~ Thou Shall NOT KILL !! ~ Godspeed
Do I have time to rip my uterus out of my body before this goes down?
That’s a bit extreme. An arm or leg will do.
Ah, yeah, but considering the chanting’s started, would an arm or leg suffice? ARRRRRGH!!
Wait what? just reread that again….
Do it quick girl!!! Verdicts a-comin’
If you don’t use it any more, get rid of it.
kh
What a coincidence, I got the monthlies too, cramps and all.
drink hot tea and get some naprosyn! Used to work for me…or, tons of advil. I did develop an ulcer though, which almost killed me, so be careful!
after today no more civilian clothes for jodi in court. If goes to sentencing jodi WILL be wearing an orange jumpsuit!!
Fingers crossed & prayers high that justice will be served in moments!
OMG. Jodi has her smiley confident face on today.
Crazy bitch.
kh
Has anyone noted today is the 8TH.?
guilty 1st degree premeditated
Wahoo!! They did the right thing.
So that’s what Jodi looks like when she really cries….
YAY!!!!!!
GUILTY MURDER 1. Justice for Travis. What is really sick is this is the only time this murdering BITCH has shed a real tear.
And once again the tears are for herself.
Tamara you were right on the split !!!!!!!! 7 / 5 !!!!!!
JUSTICE!
Wow. They all voted premeditated…… and 7/5 split felony. kh
Incredible! Well done, Juan.
Sorry, and good listening, Jury! I was extremely worried.
Hey Jane since 7 voted for felony also, does that mean they believed Travis owned a gun?
No. all 12 voted for premed but only five did not find felony component. Premed means they all believe she brought the gun. etc.
On Wed, May 8, 2013 at 5:55 PM, Tamara Tattles
I thought felony is due to the scenario that the gun was travis’s and she stole it to commit the murder
O, Tori, let’s see… I think it might well mean that – murder committed in the commission of a felony the felony being ripping off Travis’ own gun. Whether “felony” could extend to the theory of a gun stolen from Grandpa, I don’t know. Interesting, point! Don’t know how close together in time the felony & the murder have to be. Could the felony have also been breaking & entering? Guess not – due to sex acts. But, could the felony be that she (not kidnapped but…. ) held him against his will and THEN murdered him in the process? Someone smart will help us here, Tori.
Yes Jane im trying to figure it out, i hope it does not mean that they believe the gun was Travis’ and she stole it to murder him, OR maybe it is because once she starts stabbing him she is not welcomed in his home anymore ?
I knew Tamara would help us. But, Tamara, couldn’t they say pre-med based on theory of gas cans, car rental, license plates, blah blah and knowledge that Travis owned a gun & knives? (I, of course, KNOW she stole the gun from Gramps, but… ) Somehow, I thought felony murder had to have murder during commission of felony… what were the other felony scenario options? (Anytime, now, I’m going to get fired and be forced to write crime novels.)
THAT WAS IT, Tori. Juan said that once she started stabbing, she’d overstayed her welcome & was unlawfully on premises. That’s the ticket!
YES! Got it Jane!!!!!
Ya know, she looked sad but not near what I expected. I expected total hysterics from Jodi. I would be hysterical, especially if I was innocent…and she quickly began chatting to Willmott, I bet about mitigating death penalty?
I was curious to see. Expected angry face. Instead, got Mona Lisa Smirk, first. Then, something others are reading as emotion. i read eyes appealing to jurors – which, yet again, show a failure to chart reality. Still game playing, seems to me. i don’t know when reality hit this freak. 12 -15 yrs from now? If ever.
Thank God. Another injustice in these well-known trials would have put me over the ledge. I pray the Alexander family can finally heal.
Phew.
HA! Was it just me or did she appeared to be trying not to smile before the verdict was read?? She LOVES the attention! Her gasp was slightly delayed, but funny. For the first time she may have showed real emotion, when murder 1 sunk in. Tho I think short lived. Bitch really thought “no jury will ever convict” her.
Yes, she was totally smirking as if to say “no jury will ever convict me.” What a delusional narcissist! Solitary confinement here Jodi comes!!!
marymac, does she go to the prison as opposed to the jail right off the bat? And does 1st degree murder earn her a different style of accommodation (I know DP does) – again, right off the bat, as in tonight? In other words, as she walked back through those courtroom doors did the axe fall immediately, setting off a whole new reality?
Nancy Grace said that Sheriff Joe is going to speak to her about how the guilty verdict changes JA’s status in a few minutes. I saw a copy of his letter to someone asking about her tweets from jail. He was not happy but had no control b/c of 1st amendment. That should all change now.
Thanks, Peach. Gonna try to listen (but really MUST get dressed for work!) One would hope that all her abhorrent nonsense DOES get shutdown now – BAM! But, just verdict. Thankful for that.
She will stay in the county jail until after sentencing and then head to the state penitentiary. Hope Nancy Grace hears that things change for her tonight when she gets back to jail as a convicted murderer. As for the solitary confinement, that will only come if she gets the DP. Life in Prison will give her too many privileges. Anyway, I am so thankful for the verdict! Love and prayers to Travis’ family and friends.
Did y’all see that she asked Willmott who the Forman was!! Willmott told her I don’t know. Good thing she’s locked up or she’s be coming after the Forman
I wondered what that was. Thought it was just her attempt to appear casual & confident. Hate the Mona Lisa smile bit she came in with. I’m not convinced that she displayed much emotion at all, real or otherwise (a glint, perhaps & one intake of breath), so, I’ll defer to others on that. Not sure how to read the sustained turn back to family. Face didn’t give anything away to me. Seemed emotionless.
Jinkasaurus just said she didn’t turn back to family. Was I hallucinating?
nope, I saw it too, and wondered who she was looking at. No emotion at all…
You know I loves me some Jinky, but she’s not very reliable. She looked back when the back row was being polled. At that point everyone elses eyes in that courtroom were on the jurors. She could have flashed her tits and no one would have seen it but us.
On Wed, May 8, 2013 at 5:29 PM, Tamara Tattles
For the last 10 or so days of trial there was someone in back of her family that she has turned and looked at. I also heard that the juror who got off b/c of illness was in court today.
CNN is covering Jodi but also the Ariel Castro stuff. He was charged today. Looks like it was all him and not the other two brothers.
Can’t stop laughing at the name Jinkasaurus!
Is that what she said? Wow. Ya she probably thinks Donovan can go harrass them for her…
That was a very quick verdict read! I think the Casey Anthony verdict, Belvin kind of droned on for awhile before the verdict was read. This was immediate and boom!
YEP! YIPPEEEE and “how ya doing @#jodiarias?” As FOS as you are, i bet you gonna need a whole new set of panties to write Travis’ name on!
Where were her bangs today?! Her hair wasnt pulled back like a 12yr old either…interesting..
She was getting ready to get out & find the next guy to latch onto.
Thank god this mess is over!
I just wander what her first song will be as a convicted felon!
They must have been getting the 5 hold outs, they only voted for 1st degree premeditated murder, to agree to her being guilty of both, including felony murder. Just WOW! A jury of her peers has decided her fate.
Thats not accurate. The vote was 5 for premeditated, 7 for both premeditated and felony murder.
I think peachteachr is right, the 7 who voted for both might have been trying to convince the other 5 who voted for jst premeditated to also vote for both.
Thanks Tori, that is what I was trying to say. I’m so obsessed over this trial I had to take part of a xanax. Oh, I know, the verdict made my brain “scramble”!
hahaha! I gota ya peachteachr. I thought the most amazing part was each juror saying it was there true verdict!!!! So basically all 12 thought it was premeditated, and 7 thought it was also felony murder. Juan did an amazing job by including felony in his closing .
Right, Eve, that’s what I was trying to say. Guess they wanted to make sure she was judged guilty as hell.
WOW. She really had an expression as if she was confident that she was getting off. Idk why im surprised about that, but anywho! Justice Justice.
She’s gonna get the DP and you can mark my words on that.
kh
I just read that the family of TA has filed a wrongful death suit against JA. There goes that money for the drawings. What happens to the cash that goes into her commissary account? More good news.
GREAT NEWS.
Hoo-ah. Suck it Jodi.
All falling into place! (And I was so worried.)
oh my goodness! I scheduled a mani/pedi for this afternoon so I should have known the verdict would come down today! Lucky for me, I am still within the free XM satellite radio period that came with my new car, so I was able to listen to the whole thing on HLN. I got in my car at exactly 4:15 and turned it on. What a relief they voted for first degree murder!! Wahoo!
But when you got your man-pedi, you didn’t also get your hair dyed dark brown and then also you didn’t have a hoard of license plate stealing skateboarders either turn your plate upside down–I’m guessing?
The verdict is victory for justice.
… whilst sipping on a strawberry (raspberry?) frappacino, red gas can in trunk?
…and watching skaterbois whip out tools to fuck with you by putting your license plates upside down!
haha nope..although my brown hair could use a good dye job right about now! I’m pretending the grey hairs are highlights ๐
Famous last words: “No jury will ever convict me. Mark my words.”
apologies if this was already posted…
I heard someone scream this out in front of the court house as the verdict was read !!
I am obsessed with Jolene. I hope they all do lots of media. I also want to see what my boyfriend looks like. I hope he is closer to 50 than 70.
Oh yes, SWEET SWEET JUSTICE!!!
Juan Martinez is a ROCK STAR.
Tomorrow starts at 4 ET and Kevin Horne is going to testify again…
Hopefully he’ll have some beard stubble and no typos.
kh
Do you think JW and KN will call AL and Geffener to help them out during penalty phase? Lol.Jodi doesn’t have any credible friends. Will any family stick their necks out to try and save her life?Im not so sure, plus her narcissistic personality may not allow them to.I think she has always been embarrassed over her family, like they aren’t good enough for her or her friends.
I would think LaViolette’s career as a so-called “expert witness” got permanently flushed down the Jodi toilet.
I love how the jurors just yelled it right out when they were polled… “YES!” no whimpering. They stood behind their decision.
kh
and did i hear one say YUPPP
Yuppp, you probably did.
Sherrif Joe is going to give a press conference soon. CNN will cover it. HLN will probably be late and ask him to start over…
lmao
Boy, I wouldn’t put her “back with her pod mates,” tonight, if it were up to me. Eek!
NancyGrace says the bus has left for the jail and Jodi isn’t on it……. hmmmm. kh
Maybe (should be) UNDER it?
Ha! Jane you’re absolutely funny. You do have a point though.
OMG!So happy! She really thought she was gonna walk free .She turned and looked away from the jury when they were polling and got to juror #13!I looked up his description from the site Tamara posted a while back.He was “the wrestler”.Described as young, hunky and very cute. She did not turn back to look at jury until they polled 14!She must have been making eyes and flirting with this juror, orat least in her on mind he was in love with her and would Save her. Please everyone watch it and read juror description.Where has Edgrrrr been Tamara? Is he visiting Jodi or on vaca with Casey A? Lol.
I’ve been lookin for Edgrrr too. Wanted to hear his unique take on the happenings today. kh
Edgrrr is hopefully going on a hunger and non-typing strike.
…or should that be typing strike. Either way, same point. Can’t make sense of his word salads with gibberish sauce.
Well thank goodness she can’t stalk and murder that young hunky and very cute Juror that she deludedly thought was ‘in love’ with her stretched out arse hole.
I watched her eyes follow as the jurors were polled. It seemed to me juror 7 was the juror she kept looking at during her trial. I went back and read Tamara’s description. Seems juror 7 was one of the young ones. I guess she was hoping juror 7 was going to be her savior. Go back and watch the verdict. Let me know what you think.
I thought the same thing about her face when #7 confirmed his vote. She had this look like, “Et Tu? Brutus?” I think she thought she had convinced him to save her.
On Wed, May 8, 2013 at 6:52 PM, Tamara Tattles
I will h ave to watch the replay, but I swear she looks at #13and quickly turns her head until they say juror 14 then she turns back lookin hurt.but the first quick look at 13 was surprise and hurt.If his description is true, he sounds like her age and type and I don’t recall it saying if he was married or single.I can’t wait til jurors can talk and see if #7 or #13 ever felt like she was trying to make eyes with them! she is evil!
Thanks goodness the Devil won’t be dancing tonight like he tangoed with Casey Anthony who reveled in dubious delight.
Alas, this is no longer a “killing”. It’s now officially a Murder.
I wanna buy Juan Martinez a drink!
Alas, it’s no longer “when Travis passed away” it’s “when Jodi murdered Travis in cold blood.”
kh
From a poster named Miles on the HLN comment thread:
You don’t pull on Superman’s cape,
You don’t spit in the face of James Bond,
You don’t pull the mask off the Ol’ Lone Ranger.
And you DON”T MESS AROUND WITH JUAN!
Amen!
That should be Juan’s official campaign song when he runs for governor of AZ.
He’s the real deal.
Is that that idiot who splooges all over SH? Ugh.
Don’t know any idiots (well, let me take that back, I deal with idiots nearly every day), but don’t know who the commenter is. Just liked the Juan reference and, unlike some, I do not like to copy other people’s thoughts and share them as though they are my own. ๐
Some dick named Miles.
Wouldn’t know. Don’t frequent SH because I think it’s more S than H.
No doubt he took it personal with: trying to go up against him in the beginning, the insulting plea, the fake letters, the coded messages, the threat to assassinate Travis’ character, lying about wanting to die when she couldn’t even stand a nick, etc.
WTF? Jodi Arias will give an interview with Greta on Fox at 10 pm est giving her reaction to her verdict…….. so say Shepard on FOX. WTF?
kh
I just watched some of her Fox interview with the local station that she promised if she was convicted of M1. http://bit.ly/10rl0xn
JA obviously quickly powdered her nose and composed herself, because she was right back to being her normal “victim” self. Now remorse. Local guy is really cute, so she probably wanted to do him before she went back to her suicide watch cell!!!
Oops. No remorse, I meant!
Also, she says she just went blank when they read her the verdict. Ugh! Whatever! So typical. Surprised she didn’t say she was in a fog after they read her the verdict.
Wow – Wow – Wow ! Sorry was sitting @ the DVR – replaying it in slow mo over and over and over… Missed being on board with all here @ TT. Per Beth, just heard that Arias really just let loose a can of screaming whoop-ass on both of her Atty.’s in the basement of jail – while waiting on the BoZo bus back to her pity pod. I agree with you Jane – you could see her wheels spinning for sympathy almost immediately. Still think it was oh baby, #7 – but maybe he just has a softer voice. All voices were resolute. Here, here !
oh oh – almost forgot – I’ve been wanting to use this word since I started on this crazy train. Jodi Arias is a PREDATOR MURDERER ! ~ Aggrevate that Sk_nk !
(sorry – had to read that)
I’ve called her worse. She’s very aggravating. Did you hear about her tweets last night? She’s classless and stupid. I thought this might shut her up. And here she is, still lying! She doesn’t want to die. Justice was served!
As for the article, I don’t know that I predicted a time Tamara, but I did predict Wed. only b/c the mountain of evidence, the unbelievable nature of the crime, gender issues, certain allegations, etc. I knew it would all take time.
I think it was the correct outcome b/c she murdered his physical form, then she did it to his character & memory – classless psychotic bitch.
RIP Travis where ever you are. She can no longer harm you or anyone – any longer.
So in JA’s interview with the local Fox station, she says that she would rather receive the death penalty than natural life. Ummmmm, let’s see, where did I hear this before? Oh, yeah, the story of Brier Rabbit when he said , “Whatever you do, please don’t throw me in the briar patch.” JA said she has consistently said she wanted death over life in prison. I’ve been following this pretty closely and the only time I heard her say she wanted death was when she told Det. Flores that if she did this to Travis she would beg for the death penalty. Start that begging now witch!
She is such a lying piece of shit. Still playin the game. Still trying to manipulate. But she’s gonna get the picture when she’s in solitary waiting for the 10-15 years it takes to actually do the deed.
kh
Yep! I lived with an adoptive parent who threatened suicide on almost a daily basis – just like Jodi’s doing. Those are folks seeking attention only, rarely do they ever accomplish what they threaten. She is bluffing for the attention! She’ll never commit suicide – she had way too many opportunities before going to jail and in jail. She wasn’t on suicide watch then!
One of the great moments of the trial to me was when JM was asking her about wanting to kill herself. She gives the little talk about saving the razor, padding her bunk so she wouldn’t make a mess on her bunkmate below (cause she cares so much for others doncha know?), and scratching herself and stopping b/c it hurt so badly. JM answered, “Can you imagine how it hurt TA when you stuck that knife in his heart?” BOOM!!! Blew her up with that question. I am a suicide suvivor since I lost my daddy to suicide at 19. He didn’t threaten, threaten, threaten. He pulled the trigger. JA is not fit to say my daddy’s name.
@ Peachteachr – so sorry for your loss.
c0astalkitty, I just wanted you to know that hurt people hurt people. I am a CASA now in my retirement in hopes of making sure that children in my county have a voice.
Here is the link to her interview! http://www.myfoxny.com/story/22200056/2013/05/08/jodi-arias-talks-exclusively-with-fox-10-after-verdict
So she wants to die does she..? Well hell, Im sure AZ could save a whole lot of $ if they just throw her boney ass out in the desert where the wolves and the buzzards can get @ her. ~ Prison aint jail and heaven aint hell ! ~ There is a old Italian saying (not in my father’s Calabrian tongue of course but…it’s)
“THAT CAN BE ARRANGED !”… !
I’m dancing with the one who brung me tonight and watching HLN, but I keep switching to Greta on Fox and they are laughing their butts off @ her and the interview. Jose Baez just used the word guilty to describe JA. Dr. Drew just said in her interview she made as if she were being crucified and needed to write the manifesto. OMGoodness, talk about looking really evil and not finding any defenders (even the reporter thought she was an idiot), Jodi Ann Arias stands alone tonight. KARMA!!!
Ok so Greta already aired? Was it another interview with Jodi or were they playing the one she gave at the courthouse?
Oooh, ooh, ooh, it was with the reporter who got the interview. Look it up online as they were moving to the Clevland case of the kidnapped girls. God bless these girls, too.
Mar-teen- eeze, for Martinez, He did a great job. The jury got it right . I kept thinking about how the jury was in that room with all those horrid photo’s drenched with all those disgusting e-mails and sext tapes. I hope they all got a good shower to wash off all the Jodi jerms. It’s been a long 4 years for Travis , and now healing can begin. I only hope that the civil suit will put a stop to all the dirty lies jodi keeps spewing out.
In the Fox interview tonight Jodi had the nerve to say she was praying for each juror! Well I wonder,on Gods “Continuium of sin” ie:theTen Commandments,if my figures are right Jodi has broken at least 8 commandments putting her in the Hottest category in the “Continuim” ,indicating she will burn in hell for infinity!
I thought it was funny that she talked about praying. Is she still claiming to be Mormon?
It will be interesting to see if she gets her golf pencil and if she doodles all thru the penalty phase tomorrow. Can’t wait for Juan to put on the States penalty case, should be exciting, can’t wait to see which Jodi shows up.
Watched all five segments on MyFoxPhoenix of the interviews with Jodi Arias and, by God, that woman is so incredibly sick and will never, ever accept responsibility for anything. Here are some excerpts of her responses to the reporter’s incessant “what are your thoughts on that?”:
1) Did she avoid eye contact with Travis’ family during the trial? “I typically avoided eye contact. Travis comes from a family where they all sort of look a lot alike so when I see their faces, I see Travis and I see the man that abused me and I don’t want to look at that.”
2) What are your thoughts on Juan? “Ummm, well, prior to trial, I respected Juan as a very capable attorney. Ummm, even though he’s done some very shady things in my case as far as hiding evidence and failing to disclose certain things hoping it would just go away. But in the end what does it matter? It didn’t help my case. His accusation that I was seeking fame is absurd.”
3) Was Twitter your idea? “It just became sort of an idea that I thought of in February and we decided to go for it. I don’t regret it. I think there’s a little bit of satisfaction gained from being able to just impart my ideas and my thoughts and sort of let people know where I’m coming from. You don’t have to read it if you don’t like it.”
4) What are your thoughts on your mom? “As far as my mom, I feel that I don’t deserve her. She’s a saint and I have not treated her very well.”
5) The jury didn’t believe your story. What are your thoughts on that? “I can understand that, I think, because of the lies that I told in the beginning to try to cover up this, cover up that, to hide the things that I didn’t want to made public.”
And the worst of all is this:
6) “It’s not like I went up [to Utah] because I was hoping to pursue a relationship. I went up there because I thought ‘oh crap, I need to keep my schedule.’ So I went up there almost because I felt a sense of obligation inside in order to keep up the pretense. Not because I was going up there to have fun.”
7) Do you still think about Travis and in what way? “Yes. Ummm, there’s a lot of regret because I was really hoping to get a plea and avoid talking about all of the things that came out about him. If we had been able to avoid trial, we could have avoided just the murkier aspects of his life that he kept hidden and these aren’t just things that came from my mouth. They are his own words, his own e-mails, his own text messages. The activities that he was up to, photographs that showed that as well. And none of that would ever have come to light; it would have just been forgotten. He would have been memorialized as, umm, not perfect by any means, but somebody who was known to adhere to his morals and the principles that he espoused. But now the curtain has been drawn and you can see the hypocrisy and everything that was there. And I regret that because although I know even though he was living the life of a hypocrite, that was not how he wanted to be perceived and I think inside he didn’t really want to live that kind of life.”
8) What about the pedophilia? “Well, again, he’s fantasizing about having sex with a 12-year-old on the tape. That’s pedophilia by definition.”
Numbers 7 and 8 are her “gotcha! I still won!” bullshit. What a psycho bitch.
Wow. 7 and 8 are pretty sh!tty, and the Utah thing about keepin her schedule is just hideous. So she just admitted she was trying to cover up by keeping to a schedule. What an idiot. I love how she calls Travis a hypocrite…for sleeping with her, who was also in the church. She really deserves death because she will never feel remorse.
Thank you for posting. I only saw the first 3 or 4. I really couldn’t watch the “devil” anymore. I am glad to hear that she will be wearing the jail stripes to court today. Maybe they will have her in shackles, too. I doubt that will humble her in the least bit, though.
Thanks puravidacostarica. I didn’t get to see all of the interview. Very interesting. What information does our donJuan have that he hid? He’s the prosecutor for goodness sake – nothing he’s going to have is going to help her! And if it did – why not keep it hidden! She’s totally insane. I have to say, although her defense team trashed Travis (which was so wrong on their part), at this time I really feel a little sorry for them. To deal with somebody who is so mental, going against everything they tell her. Honestly, can’t they just refuse at this point?
I believe the “evidence” that JM did not allow or as she said hid, are the fake journals that she caused to be manufactured that indicated Travis was abusive and a pedophile. The court ruled that they were fakes and did not allow them into the trial. The fake journals and the message in the magazine are linked.
@ Peachteachr – thanks for the info. She is just twisted beyond belief. Her brain needs to be autopsied to find out what type of devil worm she’s got crawling around in that black matter.
Jodi produced letters that she said Travis wrote, in the letters Travis confessed to being a pedophile. The letters were found to be forged. She thinks this is Juan hiding the evidence.
Shes crazy.
Gosh Jodi, speaking of hypocrites…
Pur, thanks for your post! I left for work after the verdict & didn’t return ’til after midnight (west coast time.) I left thinking that one thing, at least, had been set right in the world, that the Alexander Family could put one piece of this hideous ordeal behind them & that we, the supporters, could (if we would) take a breath. Well, what a naive fool I am. I absolutely DID NOT see this coming. At some point, sure… but never this timing. Never this soon.
The psychopathy, embedded in the answers, is obvious. We’re used to it, know it by heart – classic Arias. As we speak, the interview transcript & video are being raked with a fine tooth comb &, no doubt, will be analyzed ad nauseum for some time to come. For good reason… such a stunning specimen of whatever the hell this particular apparition of female mind & behavior is! Goody for that.
Far more stunning & appalling to me is that this interview took place at all. Whose sociopathy allowed this to happen? Who is it exactly, who is themselves so twisted, so off the rails of what is right, that they thought the most valuable way to meet the moment was to allow this woman the last word of the day? That’s essentially what happened. Some utter goof (some team of creeps) ENABLED Arias to have the last word of the day.
This required serious orchestration, no? I can’t even put it together, logistically, in my mind: Arias is convicted of 1st degree murder? Arias is escorted out courtroom sidedoor? Arias is permitted to meet briefly w/ family, defense counsel? Arias puts stripes on in courthouse basement? Arias is transported from basement to jail? All under guard? All routine & appropriately stark?
BUT NO!! Arias is convicted of 1st degree murder. Arias is escorted out of courtroom door, already full tilt boogey manipulating every molecule in her midst. Arias blah blahs & emotes & acts out… AND applies makeup, sits for lighting, adjusts her clothing, checks her eye line & audio, approves interview questions, mentally reviews her lines, gets into character…….
What the f*** just happened?! Who’s did this?! Is this without consequence? Seriously, is this allowed?
(Apologies for length… but, for the love of god… !)
Sorry for the exceedingly long post. I thought maybe there are folks out there who might want a word-for-word recap of some of her more interesting answers (not that I caught them all). Took one for Tamara’s tearoom team (wasting time watching all the interview segments as there is a lot of repetition)!
Thanks I didn’t see it all so I did need the post!
Puravita.. Thanks for posting the interview. Wow ! ~ I only saw parts of it. Mind boggling. – TT seems like a ghost town. I hope Tamara is ok & feeling better. Watching the interview – I tried to imagine what it would be like to have her as child, a teen, or a girl-relative. I mean, oh god how would – or could you get past the lying, get through that strange & frightening persona ? Like you’d wan’t to shake her awake or set a firecracker off at her. Ughhh. Really – she seems like an ALIEN to me, like “a something” out of bad movie. I’ve always thought she has a plastic sheeny-thing about her – she looks like a child’s doll. In this interview, up close, it’s really evident. I, so go on my instincts and “there’s just something NOT quite right about that GIRL.” If she was boardline before – I’m guessing this horrific murder coupled with narrcistic overdose has pushed that boarderline over into the psychotic column. I suspect she has been this way since she was a child – Oh god ! She deeply disturbs every sensory fiber of my being in a very unnatural way and I’ve never felt that from another human being before. – Not like that. I noticed Willmot looked sucked dry & ashen gray today and they are evidently no longer pals. These lawyers will probably need a shrink now. Everyone seemed pensive around her. Up close you can see something waxy – I think Arias has a vampir` effect on men that are unaware they’re emotionally vunerable and not just with her sexuality. It’s on another level – like a dog whistle. Shark’s eyes ! – Preditor ? …the eyes are the windows to the soul…
I had an employee who we always called a psychopath…………”I didn’t mean to”….”It wasn’t my fault”. Very narcissistic and self-absorbed but had a shallow and rough side to her that we all sensed and yet she hid alot of it fairly well. She had run in with police and literally told three of us different versions of what happened (i got the “mom” version another got the “friend” version, a third the “please don’t judge me” version. The episode involved “an abusive boyfriend and a gun”) We ended up in an unemployment hearing because she failed to show up for work but claimed she was fired. Thank God that I brought 2 employees with me for all of the lies she told which were immediately countered by her co-workers. To this day, those who know me know that, were I murdered, she is one on the top of the list. (not that she is the ONLY one on the list, though LOL)
I’ve got one of those people lurking around in my life. Professional victims! They are chameleons with no personalities.
Maybe someone else has asked this, though I didn’t see it while reading through this morning.. I wonder why the camera never showed Juan’s face when the verdict was announced yesterday. Nurmi’s face wasn’t shown either. I really wanted to see their expressions when the verdict was read. I realize JA was the focus, but did anyone else thing it was odd that the two attorneys faces were never shown yesterday?
I really wanted to see Juans face
I know, I especially wanted to see Juan’s face. They should have had a split screen.
Does anyone else wonder if Nurmi, during his closing agrument, purposely stated that he doesn’t like his client 9 out of 10 days with the mindset that there was no way he could ‘get her off’ (excuse the expression!) and by making that statement, she would have a better chance at getting a new trial because her own defense attorney didn’t even like her. Makes me wonder… hmmm???
If there was a statute that all defense attys must like their clients, there would be no defense attorneys.
kh
True enough. However, I just thought it was odd that he actually said it out loud like he did. I think even Wilmott was shocked over that.
Did anybody notice mention of Jodi’s poor frail grandmother. Seems she didn’t need that wheelchair to get around after the verdict. The news channels have reported that she was just fine, walking from the car to the jail and downstairs to visit Jodi and then walking back out. Was that a ploy by the defense team or Jodi herself? Did she call the shots on a lot of the things that were said about Travis? It certainly would make me dislike Wilmott and Nurmi a lot less.
There is nothing to dislike about the defense attorneys. They are doing their job.
They can advise their client until they are blue in the face, but it was her decision ultimately how to plead and what defense to present.
Excellent example is her interview yesterday. Even a first year law student would of said do not do it. She did because she has the final say.
There have also been many defendants who have done everything in their power to manipulate and sabotage their defense while at the same time pleading their innocence. i think in years to come after she is dead or gives permission for her lawyers to talk, you will hear exactly i said happened , actually happened.
Certain mental illness is usually the culprit of such behavior and if i am right will come out on appeal at some point too.
I am NOT saying she is insane, but mentally ill to the point where she does this kind of stuff.
At some point i would hope she is examined by several competent mental health professionals, not these bozo’s which include Demarte. I think she is ill beyond boarderline, probably has a mixture of things. I am also thinking arrested development too.
I am also not saying she is innocent or couldnt help it, but personally i have always been interested in why these people do what they do.
@ Eve, you’re right – they were doing their job. I’ve always said that, however I don’t agree with anything they said about Travis – and I didn’t like that. Wilmott and Nurmi may be great people in another situation – but not this one. As my boss states – it is a thankless job. Having an adopted parent who herself experienced mental issues, suicide threats, etc., our home life was not a picnic. Just the little that I know about types of mental issues and their causes, there are some people who are just insane. Jodi is at the top of the insantity chart.
I was reading to see if anyone had posted this. I don’t blame the defense for defending JA, but i do disagree with trashing Travis and pushing grandma, whom I have sympathy for, in a wheelchair as if she could not motivate on her own. I am disabled and walking is extremely difficult and painful for me, but I would not push a lie in court.
โI typically avoided eye contact. Travis comes from a family where they all sort of look a lot alike so when I see their faces, I see Travis and I see the man that abused me and I donโt want to look at that.”
wow, she doesnt see the man she murdered??
Tori,I haven’t seen all the interview, did she really say that ? I’m shocked,I hope they play that part in the upcoming penalty phase.Good grief.
Hi Darla, someone posted her interview in the comments, and that answer just made me cringe i had to repost that one. Crazy lady.
So this next phase is to just determine whether death will be an option???
I believe this part is to decide if TA suffered as she murdered him. If they agree that he suffered, and why wouldn’t they, they will go to the penalty phase. So think of these last 2 as mini-trials. I don’t know if she gets to offer mitigation in this phase or the next. JA will be allowed to ask for her life or death if that’s what she still wants. Me, I think she loves herself too much to ask for death.
Thanks peachteachr. So when jury deliberates again it is to determine if there was cruelty and if they find that there is then there is another phase?
There is a 3rd phase when she will receive her sentence. HLN is calling this the extreme cruelty phase. In Arizona, if the jury is not unamious in the last phase, life or death, then a new jury will be brought in to decide. I may certainly be wrong but this is what I think I’ve heard.
Jane and others, “moderation” here is kicked off by first time posts, links, or a few random letter sequences (I am protecting a few people here from stalkers…myself included) but lately I see no reason at all for some of the things that get moderated. It’s a mystery. Sometimes if you use a different email or accidently type your name wrong or something WP will moderate you as new. It doesn’t mean you are in trouble. ๐

After 4 hours of Nancy Grace on HLN yesterday, I’m about ready to commit suicide.
LOL
Last night i sat with my mouth wide open when i found myself agreeing with Bozo Baez. I knew it was time to turn off HLN.
I think Vinnie Politan is on par with Jerry Springer. The only one i respect is Beth Karas as she still remains professional and doesnt not insert drama or personal opinion that goes beyond the opinion of the lawyer she is.
Anyone remember the good ol days of Court Tv? Before the idiots like Jmie Floyd who reminded everyone she was a lawyer every 10 seconds.
Last night Vinnie was jumping around like a chimp talking about how he squashed Gus Scearcy on Piers Morgan. I think Scearcy came out looking more sane and making some valid points.
I’m guessing Jodi wishes she had kept up the payments on her “prepaid legal policy”,you know, the policy she bought the day after Travis sent her that, you are a sociopath email. I think that is one policy they offer First Degree Murder Policy. Lol. The policy covers all expenses including legal fees! All joking aside,Gus Searcy is soooo pro Jodi because he wanted to F— her so bad. That man is such a creep!
I think he probably did want to…….
i think the funniest part of the trial is when Scearcy wanted a lawyer and didnt have one ! So much for Pre-Paid Legal……….
Ya know, i think most of the people involved in this case are creepy.
Pura, just wanted to say thanks for the interview transcript. My “reply” (under your post) is being “moderated” (yikes! sorry, Tamara, in advance for whatever I did) so, thanks in brief! (Worked late last night, missed interview, appreciated post, despise Arias!)
JA has been moved to some special mental wing b/c of suicide watch. They are saying she is under a doctor’s watch.
I think this is pretty common. It doesn’t necessarily mean she is suicidal. Though I suppose going on national TV asking for death would make it a requirement. If she did off herself, the family could use her news conference as evidence they failed to protect her from herself. Perhaps they should put her in a straight jacket just to be sure.
Speaking of that interview… Her defense team can use it as well. They may ask for a competency hearing at this point on the basis that she is not mentally capable of contributing to her defense. Although, since the verdict has been handed down, that may not be a necessary component for the rest of the case.
Also on the interview, the interviewer told Greta Sustern that Jodi was sure Nurmi was serious about the 9 out of 10 day comment. Jodi and Nurmi did not get along well at all.

๐ I hope you are better today with your health and your boyfriend’s back. Here’s to a good day of testimony and a really good growth of stubble just for you.
LOL good point. Let’s have a moment of silence hoping for a nice solid five o’clock shadow.

Too bad re: “special private vehicle”… how she must love the specialness. Pope Mobile. Cinderella’s Coach & Coachmen.
Unavoidable, of course, but grrrrrrrrrrrrrr…
(Wonder if she’ll pull out all the melodramatic stops today. She’s already got “suicide up & running. Hope the powers-that-be stop down all future performances. She should be frustrated to the max!)
Wow. And there it is. No court today.
I expected this. I had my live streaming link up and it just went dead. Guess she got more than she bargained for from that interview yesterday. Remember when she told JM that if she had said she was suicidal they would have taken her clothes and put her in lock down??? Bet the jurors are pissed!
Hi, peach! Don’t know whether she’s still the tail wagging this dog. Or whether the powers-that-be just, in essence, shut HER down. One thing for sure: as long as she’s creating chaos, she thrives. This is the torment factor: sorry for the Alexander family, whatever the explanation for shenanigans today.
Court cancelled until May 15. Forget the jurors being pissed now I am too.
Oh, my gosh. I just read a copy of a letter JA wrote to Ryan Burns from prison. Somehow, after all this time and all of HLN’s work, Greta VanSustern got it. It was very creepy and manipulative. I have always believed that Ryan was her next target husband.
When Jodi turns her head quickly behind her toward her family she does it just as #13 is going to be asked to affirm his vote. He’s supposedly the good looking one…
Well this is interesting! The jury had one question on the day the verdict was reached. …… Judge Stephens is keeping jury questions in a sealed record. Wonder what they asked???
