WWHL With Alexis Bellino

April 29, 2013 by tamaratattles 36 Comments

WWHLIt’s time for a quick recap of WWHL. I’m going to stick to the questions for Alexis, because I am not sure if you guys watched the documentary tonight that the other guest was on. It was kind of interesting. If you did watch she basically said they are rich again and back to building the ginormous house and making tons of money.

Questions for Alexis:
Why didn’t Vicki stand up for you?
I was surprised at first but they both left with me in the end.
Why did you come back to the show if you don’t get along with anyone? Don’t you think you are the problem? I actually enjoy my friendship with Lydia and Vicki. I wanted to teach my kids not to quit when things get bad.

Okay they played a cute game or too and lots of questions turned out to be for the other lady. Andy says lots of HW questions on the after show if you are interested.

Mazel: That basketball player, Jason Collins, who came out today.

Jackhole: Dr. Ruth Westheimer because she said Jason Collins coming out should have been a private matter.

Poll Question: Whose side are you on? Alexis by 52%

Andy really gets on my nerves. If you say something about anything gay related, he’s quick to call you a jackhole or whatever. Like gosh, Andy, people have varying opinions. You may not like it but respect it.

It’s Andy’s show. I like that he stands firm and outspoken in his opinions and beliefs and it only makes sense to use his own show as a platform for that whenever he pleases. I would too.

Yes it is, but just like Andy wants people to respect his opinion, he should respect others and Andy has said some very disrespectful things.

Off the top of my head, I can’t think of anything he’s said or done that has been disrespectful and if you aren’t a fan of him or his work, then it’s strange that you would watch his shows. Even stranger to comment on blogs about him negatively. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that’s what makes the world go ’round. “If you like it, I love it.” 🙂

Andy has a sick & twisted mind. He is very calculating & thinks he is so funny! Did you notice the guests Alexis & Jackie? It was like dumb & dumber . Andy is actually making fun of his guests right in front of them but most don’t get it.

He is twistedly delicious. An evil genius. Not always funny and often times adores the wrong people for the wrong reasons, but in tune when it comes to the reality fame whores of the world.

I am a bit obsessed with the Queen of Versailles. They made their $ from timeshares (if you know anything about those transactions…they are legalized fraud IMO). They amass children like they are furniture & are rich hoarders. Documentary was interesting…Filipino nanny raising their kids when she hasn’t seen her own in a decade. Pets die b/c they don’t even realize they have a lizard…or care for them. Dog poop everywhere. Complete lack of self-awareness or perspective. Fascinating.

I’m obsessed with it too. I searched the internet after the documentary and found that she’s shopping for a reality show of her own. My jaw was on the floor during the entire doc – i just can’t believe the lack of self awareness. I also felt bad for the limo driver trying to make ends meet. When Mr. Siegel asked him for a share of the fees for a wedding he did, I was angry. This guy is renting a friends house, trying to support his kids and the “billionaire” is trying to shake him down for a couple hundred bucks. Unbelievable.

I was riveted for the entire 2 hours.
There was such an undercurrent of sadness & dysfunctionalism with the husband, the housekeepers, nanny, chauffer, and the children seemed so soulless and dark and very jaded to the real world. Those kids are going to be a mess as adults. It was a very weird vibe I got from it all with the chaotic house & mess of it all.The adult children had their own trauma’s too.

I felt so sad for the nanny who has not seen her kids back in the Philippines for over a decade. I thought to myself “why can’t she go visit her kids once a year?”. Part of me thought she was in some ways enslaved and unable to leave. It was just so bizarre. All the while the wife is just numb to it all while she shops like a hoarder on speed. The Versailles mansion they are building is the tackiest crap I have ever seen. I can’t stand that Louis XIV style shit.

I actually want to see this again. To see someone with so much, yet so oblivious to the world crumbling around them was shocking. In addition to what you all said, there were two other things that stuck out to me. 1) She thought that the government bailout money was supposed to help the “regular people” like her. 2) the nanny that was thrilled to sleep/hideout in the kids old treehouse in the backyard. I felt so sorry for those nannys and housekeepers.

Agree with all of you…Tasha, Uretha Franklin, SweetTeanShade and Lisa in Oregon. Soulless …great word. Can you imagine that for the price of one of those stupid, oversized Fabrege eggs…they could have reunited their nanny with her children and saved their chauffeur’s house. How in God’s name can anybody consume as much shit as these people do without conscience and clearly without being connected to each other except on a complete surface level. To me, its the same as the Kardashians (except without a sex tape that we know of)…superficial, hollow lives that other Americans look up to and legitimize. Our values are twisted about money…

Can you see Iyanla getting a hold of this family?

I thought the kid who went from living in a dirt room in the basement to living with them said a lot. “I’ve been dirt poor, and filthy rich…” and I forget exactly how she finished it but basically it was that you get used to either one.

For those of you that missed it, The documentary is called the Queen of Versailles. My reaction overall was, why is their dog poop everywhere, and why don’t they have someone making decent meals in that house instead of feeding those kids McDonalds!

Twoops, I hadn’t scrolled down far enough to get the doc title!

And thank you for living inside my head and typing everything I was thinking when I saw this film. And that dead lizard nobody ever thought to feed? Seems like there wasn’t a lot of instilling a sense of accountability in those children. I also think Jackie (Siegel) might be about 2 steps shy of becoming a hoarder. Watching the Walmart trip and her returning home to that garage of like what, 60 bikes sitting around for the kids that they weren’t using anymore? I’m telling you, that place has the seeds for becoming Grey Gardens 2.0, Tanning Bed Version.

I also felt for the maid who nearly reminded me of an indentured servant from the middle ages, sigh. I’m friends with a lot of Phillipino ladies in my church that reminded me of her- and those who are not married (to Europeans), live a life very similar to that poor woman in that movie…giving up their families and children to live 24/7 as house staff to these enormously wealthy families, only having off on Sunday for church actvities. Here, most of the ladies at least have better living quarters than what we saw in “QOV”..but man, the sacrifice..

…still, you would think with all that square footage they could be generous enough to allow the key house staff to sleep in something bigger than a restaurant toilet stall.

That so-called documentary made me sick! What was the point? Was I really supposed to feel sorry for these obviously overindulgent plastic people? Sometimes I worry about having gas in my car to get to work and having groceries for my children to eat! Am I really supposed to cry for you because you can’t unload some ridiculous piece of shit that could house an army of homeless people or because you have some pill-head gold digger loading up cart after cart of bullshit from Walmart? However, I did watch the whole thing so who’s the real idiot in this scenario?

I watched another documentary about them a few years ago when they went broke. At that time the new ‘BIG’ house was a shell and a mess. So – did they shop around and land at BRAVO to make even more money? Does anyone know how all this came about? The original show was a few years old, I think. I didn’t watch this version since the last one was pretty bad.

I don’t think Bravo paid the Seigels anything.
Bravo paid for the rights to the film maker to air it on Bravo…and I do share your disgust of this materialistic excess. I think the documentary/movie was well received at the Sundance Film Festival….

Did Bravo air “The Queen of Versailles”? If that’s the one I saw it at a film festival a while back, it has a cult following…the whole situation with their house and the quality of their family life declining reminded me of a Nouveau Riche version of Grey Gardens.

I’m not prejudice against wealthy people. My choice of profession in life involves heavily catering to the rich and, while they are pretty out of touch with reality, they are mostly nice and generous. After seeing the previews, I decided I wanted to watch it because I assumed I was going to be watching people who were once very successful suffering because of a bad economy and a recession. This shit was ridiculous though! That tacky palace looking thing, that cold heartless old man running the whole business, his (shudder) wife, and the poor kids and nannies!!!! It was like 8 seasons of RHOC rolled into one!

When I first started watching “Queen of Versailes,” I thought it was a movie. At first I was excited about that monstrosity of a house they were building, only to be saddened by all the waiste. I remember going to Vegas and being in that office tower, waiting to get a sales pitch so I could get some free gambling money or a show. It doesn’t matter how much money they have because it still will.not be enough. Wealth people do not know how to cope with poverty! You could also see how society makes allowances for those who are perceived to be wealthy. I thought it was a great documentary.

I missed this on Bravo but caught it on netflix. Another commentor mentioned that jackie siegel is shopping around a reality show? I wonder if Bravo aired this docu because they are picking it up? I also have to wonder if everything is really back on track with them financially, as she said on wwhl, or if she is still just living in her little dream world? Her husband certainly doesnt seem to love her though… just like the eldest daughter said. He said on camera when asked if he gets strength from the marriage that no, she was like having another child. He also said that he would like for him and one of the dogs to move to the new house and leave jackie back at the old one. Ouch! I would def watch her reality show. I was highly entertained. I didn’t want it to end.
