Jodi Arias Trial Chatter Thread to Get Us Though the Downtime

I refuse to give you people the next FOUR days off. While I love my regulars and will be posting about reality TV and celebrity gossip, I would like a place for us to keep talking while we wait. If and when major news breaks I will start a new post for that. But let’s just use this comment section to talk about whatever we want Jodi Arias related. And if we go off topic and get to know each other a little better that is fine. If you read something interesting someplace else stick a link in a comment and I will either put it through or not. ๐Ÿ™‚

When I am feeling better I want to hunt down some more information on possible rebuttal witnesses for Juan. I don’t know why that list is not public but I intend to spend some time over the next four days seeing what I can find out. Let me know what you are interested in or what questions you have and I will try to get answers for you on those. JUST DON’T LEAVE ME!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyone notice today how JA mirrored DeMarte’s hair? Same part, same small bangs, behind ears, then over both shoulders. Talk about displaying one of the characteristics of BPD!

No SHIT!! Check it out! Great observation! I think DOCTOR D. did a great job. The jury clearly believes the BPD diagnosis, as they asked for affirmation from the good doctor.

Babs, I concur with your observation and noticed the same. Dr. DeMarte was spot on with “shifting sense of identity” criteria as it relates to Arias.

Ok, i will be the first to offer something off topic. Why? (besides Tamara saying it was ok) because i have had to turn away from this trial on and off during the day. Its just too aggravating for me.
So, i caught 2 extremely talented singers on American Idol this year. Not your usual can sing ok…types. Candice Glover and Amber Holcomb are naturally gifted with special voices. While Candice has a power voice, Amber posesses a voice where she can sing anything……soul, broadway, pop, rock…. I can tell her parents played a lot of different music in their home and exposed her to more than just what is popular.
You can go to youtube and listen.

There were several times today during Jodi’s glasses on…glasses off (to be read in a Ralph Macchio Karate Kid voice) that she pushed them up on top of her head like a headband. Jennifer went home yesterday and Nice n’ Easy’d her roots. The inappropriate giggling and smiling by Jodi and Jennifer is like they’re sorority sisters playing hair dress up. They are very disrespectful considering a man is dead.

Honestly, I didn’t find that there was that much giggling. i know they were writing notes back and forth – Jodi needs to do this to keep her composure. and Nurmi doesn’t want any part of it. She passed a note his way while Willmott was up and he almost wadded it up and tossed it. I can only imagine if I were on trial for my life, and in jail, I would need someone that I could talk to.or go nuts. Willmott probably keeps her under control by letting her vent on paper. I felt like Jodi came back from lunch really emotional and calms down when Willmott is able to sit back down.and pay attention to her. It won’t be long until Jodi is in a cell and loses contact with normal people.- her family is all in California and who knows how much they will visit..

I did notice that JW’s bald spot was gone today. I kept thinking the bald spot might have been gray hair. Or maybe she heard people were tweeting about her bald spot so bought some of that colored hair spray.

Not only did she get anther man’s phone number she called him after the funeral.

Did anyone here know that JA had stolen a ring from TA. I heard on Nancy Grace that it was an engagement ring that she stole. No one said who it was bought for but I’m thinking maybe Lisa. Anyway, that would explain that long text message and email where he was so angry!

I was so hoping it would come out in testimony that JA had slashed Travis and Lisa’s tires. I think all the information about stalking should have been allowed in!!!

I think one of the HLN people said Travis bought it for a woman named Linda. She wanted him to stay in school rather than go to work for PPL. He chose PPL so she broke up with him. They showed a pic with him wearing the ring. Linda must have had some big fingers.

I heard it. It was so obviously Wilmas’ cross to bear to say such a dumbass thing. Nurmi probably wouldn’t want to get stuck with saying that. Wilma thought she could say it because she is female. I’m sure the shittiness wasn’t lost on anyone, considering that 3x killing a man wasn’t something Jodi had to do.

      April 19, 2013 at 10:54 am

Yes, I heard it clearly, and gasped when she said it! It was so rude to Travis’s family to say that in open court. I also was disgusted at all the smirks and little laughs and smiles from JW when questioning DeMarte…she clearly had/has no respect for Janeen. Janeen is clearly more intelligent and more concise in everything she says, and JW does not want the jury to accept her words.

It was amazing how Jodi tried so much to look like DeMarte. Usually she seems to be JW’s twin, but this time she was imitating Janeen.

It has become a sideshow with Jodi coloring, not paying any attention when prosecutor is questioning, but gives all her attention when JW is there. It’s like she only will listen when JW is trying to give information that makes Jodi look better, and completely goes into her ‘happy place’ to not listen when things are not in her favor.

When they show him there next to Juan I think of him as the wing man like Goose in Top Gun. I think he is there to here testimony that may need investigation. Juan had him perform the weight bearing test on the closet shelves after that testimony by Jodi, tho that testimony may not be allowed in. However, what a waste of a great Detective’s time.. I don’t think I have seen it in other cases but maybe they are present but not sitting at the big table?

One of the greatest part of this trial this week for me was when JA and Travis’ family were both seated in the jury box. TA’s sisters were crying, JM was taking notes, but Det. Florres stood in front of that jury box like a silent soldier to protect Travis’ family. That really impressed me. I think that LC gives a good analogy with the Top Gun wing man reference.

I’ve always felt sympathy for Jodi. She is a young woman that was looking for men to fill in what she felt was missing. By all accounts, she could be a fun, loving person and she has artistic talent. Instead, she chose to waste both her life and Travis’.
It also saddens me that she seems to have learned no lessons from this tragedy.

@ Seriously, I can’t say I feel sorry for Jodi but do feel very concerned, now that a more credible psychiatric diagnosis has been provided-Borderline Personality Disorder, it may influence a jury or two, that she is mentally ill and they might have a hard time convicting her of 1st degree since the death penalty is on the table. Where Jodi is at fault is not getting help as an adult for eight or nine years, especially when she moved from AZ back to CA when her mother tried to get her to get help. I hold her mother responsible during the teen years when Jodi experienced “suicide ideation” as Dr D testified those thoughts were in her diary as early at 1995. Maybe her mother did and treatment was unsuccessful, who knows… I feel so sickened that the young people who commit these horrible crimes, seem to suffer in silence for years before doing something horrific and the family is aware they are suffering. I just don’t get it. I am thinking of the CO shooter, the AZ shooter, the VA Tech shooter, all these young people were known to have suffered as a teen and young adult.

We may not know the outcome until the judge delivers her instructions to the jury. That’s a part of the trial well worth listening to. It happens after closing arguments before the jury is sent out to deliberate. It may not be immediately after arguments because there’s usually a lot of back and forth between the judge and counsel for both sides (who each get to submit their own set of proposed instructions) until the judge rules upon what her final instructions will be. I, for one, want to hear what her final instructions on expert testimony will be.

An example of a jury instruction on expert opinions is copied in below (notice there is nothing in the instruction about an expert’s “experience” — once qualified to render an expert opinion, the jury is not allowed to deem them “unqualified” but they can take lots into account in deciding what weight or value to give to their opinions):

An opinion is only as good as the facts and reasons on which it is based. You must consider the evidence regarding any such fact in determining the value of the opinion. Likewise, you must consider the strengths and weaknesses of the reasons on which the opinion is based.

Also, if the expert relied on information supplied by others, you must consider the reasonableness of such reliance, as well as any evidence as to the reliability and/or accuracy of the information, in determining the credibility and weight of the expert’s testimony.

I mean, LOOK @ HER ! She looks like Dracula’s daughter – creepy hands and all ! Maybe Little Narcissus is finally staring into a mirror that see’s no reflection – except Travis’ eye staring back ? I’m very uncomfortable with those feelings, but when I start to feel sorry for JA – I think… if she would have even ran outside covered in blood, screaming “help” – and let a neighbor call 911 – I still would NOT have believed her crap – BUT everything about this crime & tragedy is SO arrogant & evil, angst is unavoidable.

What I don’t get is the Donovan sidekick, sitting next to the mother. What’s up with that? What’s the link between the two? Simply the fact that they’re two of the few left on Earth that have affinity for JA? Who pursued who? Donovan the mother or the mother Donovan?

Donovan is just such a weird side-piece in the saga. And what an unholy mess!

(unless i heard wrong) and now i hear they were in jail together?? Idk which one it is, unless by neighbor she meant cellmate ! No clue .

Hey, Tori… I only have the mainstream bits & pieces: 1) that Donovan is the one facilitating JA’s jailhouse tweets, 2) that she was allegedly involved in an arson caper (arson being a pretty psychotic gesture IMO), about which there’s controversy with locals having the inside scoop, some convinced that, of 2 firebugs, one (Donovan) was guiltier than the other, yet the guiltier went free… and, alas, there she is, sitting next to the mother and 3) that she may or may not have met JA in jail (the timing & coincidence of which I can’t figure.)

Pretty peculiar stuff… (and I could be wrong on all counts.) Find sidestory & fringe bits are intriguing… looking forward to the Vanity Fair writeup. Pine for Dominick Dunn (sigh.)

Tori and Jane- affirmative..I read that jodi and Donavan met in jail (that would make them “neighbors”)…Donavan was there due to an arson arrest. The arson case was in the newspaper archives. We all know JA “uses” people…and (Miss?) Donavan isn’t a “raving beauty”…it is easy for me to imagine that someone like Donavan could be easily manipulated…to all of a sudden be “besties” (no, NOT BEAST-ie, BEST-ie) with someone pretty and smart…(after all, she somehow got roped into committing arson by the owner of a failing business)..I don’t think we are discussing a Harvard Law Graduate!

But I think Donavan’s BFF days are numbered. But just about the time I get myself convinced that the jury HAS to convict….the memory of the Pinellas Pinheads comes flooding back…(and I’ve had PTSD ever since!)

That picture made me choke on my tea this morning. It’s both creepy and hilarious. Just what I needed to distract me from the tension around here. My husband is home since Boston and surrounding areas are on lockdown. Hoping it’s all over soon.
    On to the trial…
I’ve been a critique of Juan’s sometimes over agressive style ( though more because I think It’s distracting more than anything else). I was glad to see some of that agressiveness with his own expert witness. It annoyed me when he was being critized for being “mean” to an old woman but the tone was different for Samuels. Janine DeMarte is a woman and she still got the good old “did I ask you if…”

I keep thinking that everyone is giving JA too much credit on the camera issue I think she was sitting there deleting photos and decided to get rid of bloody things and throw them in the washer and grabbed the camera with them and threw it in the washer by mistake. I think she planned to take it with her and with her brain all “scrambled” she forgot. Has anyone else had this thought? What will I do for four days? Now my brain is scrambled. Gotta ahng here with you all.

When Walmart & the Dr were going at this point, yesterday, I was thinking: Of course it’s executive thinking, Walmart! It’s executive thinking gone wild… that sort of super-executive thinking that trips up the criminal mind. But, you’re right – she planned to take it w/ her, got behind in her chores, bungled it up in the sheets… probably drove her nuts on the road (did I leave the iron plugged in, too.. gosh, jodi)

I too have believed that the camera just got caught up in the bedding as she rushed to try and clean up. One of Travis’ roommates got off of work at 6 that day and would have been coming home soon after Travis was murdered @ 5:31. In all of the bathroom photos they all show an open cabinet. I haven’t heard anyone say this, but I wonder if that is where she had the gun and knife. She testified that she had already loaded up her luggage so by then she KNEW that Travis was not going to change his mind and take her to Cancun.

Peachteachr, I wondered about that open cabinet door and what might have been in there. I was thinking towels but, when someone from the state testified and opened the bags that contained the clothes that were taken out of the washing machine, only two towels were there. Maybe that was where she kept the gun and knife. She did testify that she was awake before TA so she could have set things up. So much to speculate about…

I agree. I think while deleting the pictures she realized it was going to take too long and decided taking it with her would be better. The camera is not that big and I think it got wrapped up in the clothes and she forgot about it in her haste.

Also, TA had just recently bought the camera so she knew that might come up and since she was into photography, and since she had stolen from TA before, the missing camera might have pointed to her. That might be a stretch but who knows what went on in her mind…except to get out of Dodge as quickly as she could!

In my sick little fantasy moment for the day….Whenever they convict her of murder and sentence her to death( I can only hope this happens) I hope she snaps in court and starts screaming/crying at the jury. So everyone will see that she is indeed crazy.

Yes I know I have issues. If she did have a meltdown I would just feel so vindicated for having to listen to her and her “expert” witnesses testimony. And I’m sure the Alexander family would be just as delighted that the whole world would see how crazy she is indeed and not have any more doubts of what Arais is capable of.

Ok. Now that you all know how sick I am, I will quietly go wash my makeup off, put on my glasses, put my hair in little girl fashion ponytail and sit quietly at my desk drawing pretty pictures for you all!!!

    Something to think about…
That smug little smile that is plastered on that she-murderer’s face has been bothering me for months now…but I think I FINALLY know where that smile comes from…

In Jodi’s sick mind, she knows:
FOREVER, when someone says “Travis Alexander”, the name “jodi arias” will be connected. Didn’t she essentially “marry” him?

Travis will NEVER cheat on her again! EVER!

“If *I* can’t go to Cancun, neither can you! FOREVER!

“Sure, HE may be dead *FOREVER*, but it’s HIS fault that my hand slipped down the knife, and now IT is DEFORMED forever!”

“HE brought this on HIMSELF!! Couldn’t he SEE that I loved him more than anyone ELSE EVER would! He wanted a “gold-digger, and I AM a GOLD DIGGER!!”

“I’m surrounded by idiots! Jen will do whatever I tell her to do…and if she DOESN’T, I will sit here and write my manifesto, and NOT HELP HER! THAT will show her!!”

“Juror #XX is pretty cute, a bit old, but wears expensive shirts…I hope he’s mormon, and I think that he is trying to tell me something when he looks at me! After the trial, when I thank him for acquitting me, I’ll get his number, and we can hook up!”

And, none too soon to start lining up a psych team to facilitate her re-entry into society. Walmart’s gonna need one hell of an exit counsellor and some serious deprogramming… plus a room at the Motel 6 (the detox venue of choice for cult victims?)

This is seriously weird & I don’t think Walmart gets the half of it. Look at pic, girl, look at the pic… you’ve crossed over (and you didn’t need to to do the work.)

Since we have a few days off…

I found this blog earlier this week, and just jumped in and was my usual “vocal” self…since there is a pause in the trial, I wanted to say “thanks” to Tamara for giving us all an opportunity to comment…and BRIEFLY introduce myself..

I am Via, The Vocal Vaper. I smoked from 1967 to 2011…and was able to quit smoking by using an “e-cigarette” (electronic cigarettes produce a water VAPOR, not SMOKE; so it’s called “vaping” not “smoking”) The fluid in an e-cigarette has only for ingredients: propylene glycol (found in many food items), Vegetable glycol (also in food), food flavorings and a low percentage of nicotine. Much like using nicotine gum, nicotine mints, or nicotine patches, Vaping is an alternative means of nicotine replacement, without inhaling the 4,000+ chemicals found in traditional cigarettes.

The reason Vaping works for MANY, MANY people is because a Vaper still gets the sensation of smoking…in holding something in ones hand, the sensation of inhale/exhale, etc…with none of the harmful chemicals! I quit smoking cigarettes 18 months ago, have not faltered once…and I am happier and healthier than I have been in a very long time!

I’m called “thevocalvaper” because I write a blog, (when I have time)…and test batteries, e-liquid and other vaping accessories and write reviews, assist new vapers on several forums dedicated to vaping and administer a PIF (Pay It Forward) group that helps disadvantaged folks obtain equipment, supplies and e-juice from other more experienced vapers. (Senior citizens, folks who’ve lost jobs, or have limited incomes, etc, who “need a little help” in their effort to give up traditional cigarettes)

I retired several years ago, and I sure do love my trials!! My dear husband, a bond (municipal) attorney, thinks I’m crazy!!! He encourages me to go to law school all the time…but at age 60, I don’t see any reason to spend our retirement money on law school! (But I’m sure I could out perform Jennifer Walmart!!). We live in northeast Florida.

I have my very own Nurmi with me all day…a sleepy french bulldog named Boo (short for Boudreaux) Boo’s job is to sleep, snore and drool during the trial…just like Nurmi, huh? But, Nurmi had Boo beat, cuz Boo can’t burp loud while court is in session, like Nurmi does!

I often crochet while I am watching trals (I’ve been addicted since Court TV began), I also paint (oils/acrylics) and try my best to avoid as much housework as I can!

I hope to read some of your introductions too…it’s nice to get to know others who are posting comments!

I’ll check out your blog from southwest Ga. and welcome to the site. TT handles things with humor and most are welcome. She just doesn’t abide stupid very well. I’ve been a lurker for years but JA brought out my voice. Just amazed at how horrific the murder was and how she tries to portray herself. As violent as the murder was, the thing I dislike most about JA is trashing Travis’ name in death.

I USED to get pneumonia every winter and suffer bronchitis every summer! I was CONSTANTLY sick! Amazingly, since I began vaping, I haven’t had even ONE sick day! I could write PAGES about all the positive things that have come about because I no longer smoke tobacco: I can smell things, taste things, don’t have burn holes in my clothing and furniture…and with what I saved the last 2 months, I bought a new Dooney handbag!! I haven’t had a traditional cigarette in 18 months…and don’t want one!

I can back you up on vaping. I’m still a smoker but my husband hasn’t smoked in over a year after taking up vaping. He loves it, his health has improved and he never once had a cigarette again once he started. I really need to try it again we’ve both smoked for decades. I don’t know why I’ve resisted although I’ve been told a small, percentage of people have a problem with something in the liquid…not the nicotine but something else that irritates the throat. My Hubs is a pro!! He loves it. Actually obsessed. I can’t wait to tell hm I found you on a blog.
Btw,,,,I love this blog too. Been following and lurking since the beginning of TTs blogging. Having the trial added makes it only that more interesting..

So, I joined the Juan Martinez Prosecutor Page a couple of months ago. Yesterday they sent a message to my fb page saying that there would be an untelevised hearing today called a status conference and it is an indication that the trial is coming to a close. I think that is why many of us who are obsessed with this trial think we are seeing JA beginning to unravel. Dr. Kristina Randle, a criminal psychologist… well I think that’s what she is but JW has me so confused after the last 2 days I could be wrong, wrote a few weeks ago that the job for the lawyers now that things are going so badly for the defense is to try and hold JA together. I think the weight loss is by choice since she thrives on attention. Just think, in 10 years she’ll be another plump grey-haired prisoner who likes to draw. My deepest desire is that she spend those 10 years on death row where she will be allowed outside for 1 hour 3 times a week and will have no contact with other humans. I may not want to go out and howl at the moon at 3 AM but I certainly am free to do so She reminds me of those signs you see in antique stores, if you break it you own it. She broke Travis Alexander and now she needs to own that. See you all next week. Same place same time.

Now THIS is NEWS, peachteachr!! A Status Conference would, indeed indicate all counsel getting their ducks in a row to finish up — any last-minute motions, preparing Jury Verdict Forms, etc. (I was a legal secretary for 35 years.) Like your “projection” for JA and hope it happens as you predict, however, BECAUSE I was in law for so many years I know for a fact that you can’t EVER trust juries! Ya just don’t know what they’re gonna do & it only takes one to ef up the whole deal. Recall Casey Anthony?

IMO, she is absolutely refusing to eat and using anorexia to grab more attention. It goes along with her five-year-old child act of coloring quietly while the grownups talk. Other immature behavior is not washing her hair for days on end and fixing it in childlike styles or changing her part from the left to the right. I’m sure psychiatrists will have a field day with her. Nurmi has all but abandoned his job as her defense attorney. It is so obvious he can’t stand her and it made me smile wickedly when JA was forced to interact with him, angrily shoving a pad under his face when Wilma was completely botching her cross exam of Dr. D. Hi all. I am Linda (I show up here as LC) and I live in New Mexico. I am new to this blog and think Tamara does an awesome job with this site. I found Tamara thru Twitter โ€“ how did others come to find her? I have recently become under-employed and without this trial and the ability to connect with great and funny minds I would be crazy (crazier?). I tend to be that person that steps back and sees things from the Defense perspective, while praising the prosecution, (heโ€™s been brilliant) so forgive me. I donโ€™t believe Jodi is innocent nor should she get off โ€“ I just donโ€™t believe in the death penalty in the majority of the cases. I strongly believe that EVERYONE deserves a fair trial. (Hereโ€™s where you hate on me, thatโ€™s okay) The strategy and the game plan and plotting of criminal trials fascinates me โ€“itโ€™s almost like theatre. I look forward to continued debate here. I also watch the Bravo shows so I will show up there, I love Survivor, Project Runway ( a New Mexico contestant is in the finals!) Idol, The Voice โ€“ I also play poker โ€“ used to play on-line til they shut us down hence my blog time has been freed up. So I am here today lurking while following the Boston situation letโ€™s chat.

Hi, Linda! I’m new to this blog, also. I found it about 4 days ago in an HLN comment section of an Arias trial update & have been hooked ever since. BTW, I no longer read those comments (or any others, for that matter!) because they don’t hold a candle to Tamara’s blog! You’re from New Mexico – I’m from Michigan. It’s amazing how far & wide this website reaches!!

Boy, you guys sure had a whacko trial not too many years ago – that girl & her husband who went on a killing spree – even killed her own sister. She’s out of prison now (couldn’t BELIEVE they let her out!) & living in another country, isn’t she? What was her name? Karla?

I’m also from Canada. My husband think I’m nuts because I’m so addicted to this trial. I am fascinated by your judicial system. We don’t have televised trials here. I was also hooked on the Menendez brothers’ trial, and, of course, OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony. I have trouble with defence tactics, but understand the reality of them. In one way I wish the prosecutor had accepted a plea deal to 2nd degree murder and put JA away for life. But think of all the fun we would have missed! :). The total defence strategy – by necessity – is to escape the death penalty. It’s just unfortunate it has cost the coffers of Arizona millions of dollars, not to mention the anguish of TA’s family as their brother’s reputation is dragged through the mud.

Seems like Defence 101 is to smear the victim. Not sure how a Prosecutor could ever become a Defence Attorney. Is it altruism towards defending innocent perps, or $?
Menendez brothers accused father of sexual assault – as did Casey Anthony – as if these facts mitigated vicious murder.

I’m not sure how an attorney decides to become a defense attorney or public defender. Many in the legal profession believe it’s a combination of: bad law school grades; inability to find a job in the private sector; laziness; and, to a lesser extent, a “passion” for defending the dregs of society (sorry, no offense to the dregs) who are still entitled to a fair trial under our justice system.

I have to call you out on this post, ‘rica. As someone who loves her criminal defense attorney I am immensely grateful for them. She is extremely bright and very well versed in the law. She defends a lot of people who are innocent and need proper representation. The entire foundation of the legal system is to insure fairness and protection for those who are innocent of the charges they face. I assure you she went to one of the top law schools in the country and is far from lazy. In fact, she and I were talking off and on last night and I had to tell her to take the time off and go enjoy her beautiful family.

I would also defend Willmott and Nurmi just as strongly. Add Jose Baez to the list. It is mistake to judge attorneys based on their clients. It is also a mistake to assume that because they may defend some of the dregs of society that they are bad people.

What’s the maxim (someone correct this): Better that 10 guilty people go free, than one innocent person be imprisoned?

After all, Atticus Finch was a public defender. And Tom Robinson was considered by many in that time & place to be dregs.

In my view, TT, it’s not the fact that Nurmi & Willcott have chosen to be defense attorneys or even the nature of their client that makes them irksome. They are irksome in habit, behavior, presentation, idiosyncracy… & fully responsible, all on their very lonesome, for their irksomeness. i would find them irksome as tinker, tailor, candlemaker (or is it tinker, tailor, soldier, spy).

They’re not bad per se. They are, however, nauseating. IMO. IMO.

No offense, TT. I am sure your attorney is great, which is why she is in private practice. And I started my post with “many in the legal profession believe…” I probably should have clarified that many in the legal profession believe that about “public defenders”. I know I have seen several fine private criminal attorneys in my day (but personally have not experienced the same when I have observed public defenders in action). Anyway, I was not stating a personal opinion and “the dregs” part was a joke. Lighten up! ๐Ÿ™‚

I missed the jury questions to Dr. DM and wondered if anyone could enlighten me or direct me to where I can find them. How were they in comparison to the questions to defense experts? Overall, I think this witness did well and handled JW and her tone and questions very well and if JW scored any small victories they were pretty insignificant. Really, all she had to go on was this experts youth but her intelligence and experience more than made up for her age. I think Jodi is becoming thinner and more stressed because she knows she is about to be escorted off the stage. Personally, I have always believed that she is loving every minute of being center stage throughout this trial good, bad and ugly like a good narcissist. I also think JW told JA to stop with the doodling all day as it was making her look more crazy and that’s why she was more attentive yesterday

Hello i found these on the hln blog, not sure if there were more, hope this helps.
i know there was only a handful asked.

One juror asked: Do you know whose handwriting is on the PDS answer sheet? Martinez is trying to find the answer sheet now.

DeMarte said psychologist Richard Samuels should not have filled out Arias’ PDS answer sheet.

One juror asked: Do you consider Arias shooting, stabbing and slitting Alexander’s throat a traumatic event? DeMarte said it all depends on the person’s reaction to the event. If the person was horrified then yes, it could be traumatic, according to DeMarte.

One juror asked: Do you think trying to delete photos and washing the camera as an attempt to destroy evidence?

DeMarte said yes. She believes it gives the impression Arias was trying to destroy evidence.

(Not sure whaat the question was for this answer) DeMarte said moments of invalidation throughout someone’s life can cause a borderline personality disorder. She gave this example of a moment of invalidation: When a child skins a knee and the parents tells the child to stop crying, because they aren’t hurt.

A juror asked: If you would throw out a PDS test if the test taker lied and said a bear attacked them instead of a tiger a tiger really attacked them? DeMarte said yes, she would through out the results, because it was a different event.

Ok, grab your reading glasses, oh you forgot them AGAIN?? Well, damn.

Since these nice introductions can help us get through this Friday:

I’m a early thirties TX gal who had been reading crimelibrary dot com for years until it turned into trutv. I most likely enjoy a bit too much tv in my downtime, all on dvr, but shockingly, I dont watch honey boo boo or dance moms even though I once was a teenage ballerina. lol I suppose I had enough loud teachers back in the day.

Ok, so I love Tamara Tattles’ blog and was lucky enough to find it when I googled “RHONY” last year sometime, and her sassy blog popped up. So very happy it did! I always get the best sweet tea and cool shade here on TT!

I’m beyond thrilled that Tamara is covering this trial in such an exceptional way, us crime readers love theories and strategies, only to watch the defendant go to prison/ death penalty when it’s rightfully owed. Jodi is a calculating psychopath on my opinion. She deserves whatever the jury decides because she murdered that man not twice but 3 times. “A jury will never convict me, mark my words!”, sicker words may not ever have been spoken, how callus can a woman be? Like she doesn’t remember each stabbing swish with her blade, she wanted to see the autopsy photos after her arrest for goodness sake!! She trampled him like a dog when she could have stayed in Cali, what a monster. I can’t wait for Tuesday’s decent back into this mess of a trial, I know it’s getting very close to the end.

I read somewhere there were 19 juror questions yesterday but HLN only posted those few. I really wish I could find the video but I’m at work. I suppose I could catch up on YouTube, is Tamara’s fav croaker queen a YouTube user?

Mary Jo. – it was Karla Holmolka. She and Paul Bernardo killed 2 young schoolgirls, as we’ll as her younger sister. Paul was known as the Scarborough Rapist. . He committed many rapes and was never caught until after the murders. He and Karla met at a business conference (sound familiar)? Karla received a shortened sentence when she testified against him. She also used the wife-abuse excuse saying he made her abet the murders. But, he never killed anybody until after he married her. They used an anaesthetic she obtained at the Veterinarians office where she worked. They sexually abused their victims before chopping them up and encasing them in cement. Her sister died accidentally from chloroform used while they both sexually abused her. They videotaped everything. She never told police about the tapes. They were discovered accidentally after she had been given limited immunity. She served her time and is now married with 3 children and lives in the Caribbean. Paul is serving a life sentence. We don’t have the death penalty here. I Think she was the more evil of the two. Their chance meeting and marriage was an unfortunate blending of 2 psychopaths.

HI Babs: Re: Karla Holmolka and Paul Bernardo, I just wanted to clarify a couple of things. The murder victims were all teenagers, as opposed to very young children. Bernardo committed over 20 rapes and wasn’t caught until after the murders, because

      A) It took over 3 years for the DNA test kit to be processed. There were hundreds of suspects, and this was in the VERY early days of DNA,{late 1980’s to 1992} and although he had been interviewed, he was considered a low risk suspect because he voluntarily gave DNA samples, and because, well, he was a psychopath who easily chatted with police and gave no hint that he was in any way concerned about being a suspect.

      B) he moved to another city, so the Scarborough rapes had stopped and the pressure was off a little.

RE: “Karla received a 12 year sentence to testify against him. She also used the wife-abuse excuse saying he made her abet the murders.”

In this case she really was abused. On Dec 27, 1992, Bernardo severely beat Homolka with a flashlight on the limbs, head and face. Claiming that she had been in a car accident, the severely bruised Homolka returned to work on January, 4, 1993. Her skeptical co-workers called Homolka’s parents, who assumed they were “rescuing” her the following day by physically removing her from the house. Homolka went back in, frantically searching for something. Her parents took her to St. Catharines General Hospital, where her injuries were documented and she gave a statement to the Niagara Regional Police, claiming she had been a battered spouse, and filed charges against Bernardo. He was arrested but later released on his own recognizance. You can find pictures online. At least she had documented the black eyes and bruising after he beat her, unlike Jodi who has no proof of injuries, other than her own claims.

Re: he never killed anybody until after he married her.

This isn’t actually correct. They killed Karla’s sister December 23, 1990 in her parent’s house while they were dating, just six months before their wedding.

On June 15, 1991, two weeks before their wedding, Bernardo kidnapped Leslie Mahaffy, who was standing at the door of her home. Leslie had told her parents she would be home by 11 p.m., after attending the wake of her friend who had died in a car crash โ€“ she arrived home at 2 a.m. (Her mom had locked her out of the house to teach her a lesson, because she had become quite rebellious). Homolka and Bernardo held Leslie Mahaffy hostage for 24 hours, repeatedly sexually assaulting her. They recorded the assaults on videotape, including one scene in which Homolka pretties herself for the camera before raping the girl.

Homolka claimed later that Bernardo had strangled the heavily drugged Mahaffy with an electrical cord. Bernardo said that she died while he was out of the room, that Homolka had killed her with an overdose of Halcion. They put her body into the basement until they could decide how to get rid of it.

The following day Homolka’s parents visited for Father’s Day dinner (while Leslie’s body was in the basement!!). After her parents left, Bernardo cut up Leslie Mahaffy’s body and encased the parts in cement, which he dumped off a bridge into Lake Gibson.

On June 29, the badly prepared cement blocks were found, one of which had split open to reveal its contents. That very day, at about the same time, Homolka and Bernardo were married in a lavish ceremony, riding together in a horse-drawn carriage at Niagara-on-the-Lake.

RE: They sexually abused their victims before chopping them up and encasing them in cement.

Only Leslie was put in cement.

Karla’s sister Tammy had been re-dressed and put into a basement bedroom, before they cleaned up the scene and called 911.

Kristen French was left in a country ditch, nude, with her long, dark hair cut very short, but otherwise intact.

Why that same “door opening” wouldn’t also let the tire slashing squeeze in, I don’t know… but I imagine because the tire slashing is attributed to JA on speculation (whereas the Xmas tree was somehow substantiated?) I’d be amazed (& heartened) to see the Tire Slashing get in, too, but I don’t see it happening.

As much as I found the Dr was very effective and certainly held her own with exceptional maturity and restraint (she’s probably a bit rigid by nature & this worked in her favour), I was very nervous re: her response to Tiger/Bear. She started out okay &, then, fumbled the ball (IMO) when she said O, their responses would be completely different. I was hoping she’d go in the direction of tigers & bears being apples & apples. A person, making that slip, would still be describing the same traumatic event and their response would be applicable, consistent, in line w/ one specific wild animal attack. In JA’s case, physical/emotional abuse by stranger years ago & physical/emotional abuse by current boyfriend seems more apples & oranges to me – in time, place, history, relationship, emotional content & context, etc, etc, etc.

Maybe this will help with the bear vs. tiger question asked by the juror.

For purposes of my own analogy and simple understanding, I chose to use bear vs. bumblebees.

There is one question in the PTSD Test describing the actual trauma event, then a subset of questions related to triggers & intrusive thoughts about this trauma event.

In his testimony – Dr. Samuels said he “wouldn’t” have disregarded his PTSD Test findings even if he knew Arias lied about being attacked by Ninjas because she would have answered the subset questions the same way whether she was attacked by Ninjas (bears) or Travis (bumblebees).

Dr. DeMarte said “If the trauma event was a lie, then the subset of questions are invalid because the subset answers must be relevant to the trauma event. In other words, if the trauma event was a bear, but triggers and intrusive thoughts are related to stinging – this scenario cannot be valid.

In her made up story aka BIG FAT LIE, Arias reportedly escapes from the Ninjas. She also NEVER pulled a gun from a shelf to shoot the Ninjas (bears).

I side with Dr. DeMarte 100%.

The PTSD Test would be invalid if the trauma event was a lie because the triggers for bears vs. bumblebees are going to be different, NOT the same (as Dr. Samuels would have us believe).

I tried to figure why she would say the answers would be different. I think it might have to do with remembering the trauma. If you were attacked by a bear, you would not be upset or have flashbacks when seeing a tiger. And talking about a tiger would not bring back memories of the bear attack. The answer troubled me, too, so I wish she would have explained why she answered it that way. I’m sure there is a reason.

Janna, I love your bear & bumblebees & agree entirely. And, when asked 1st question re: this, Demarte seemed to begin to answer along this rationale. However (& maybe I misheard so I’ll go back & listen again), when Willmott asked the question again, slightly altered & bungled, it sounded to me like Demarte got “turned around” & answered that a person, who slipped up & said tiger instead of bear, would answer the subset questions VERY DIFFERENTLY. I don’t think she meant to say this.

The difference between bears & tigers is inconsequential & wouldn’t affect subset answers. One specific wild animal attack. The difference between bears & bumblebees is huge and more resembles Jodi’s screw-up re: stranger-abuser long ago & recent boyfriend-abuser. Both of these would (IMO) significantly affect subset answers. Yes, if one claimed bumblebees & answered subset questions with bumbles in mind, the test would be invalid for bears. But, if one said bear, when they actually encountered lion, & answered subset questions with bears in mind, I think the subset answers are also valid for lion (or wooly mammoth or loch nest monster or…) Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

In any case, I totally agree w/ your bears & bumbles (& am just spinning my wheels w/ the above. I thought I heard DeMarte inadvertently go back on her rationale.)

The tire slashing came in at the first of the trial through Mimi Hall who was going to Cancun with Travis, and found the body.

Lisa tried to mention the tire slashing but the defense cut her off and she had to say ‘some weird things were happening’.

To clarify, did I understand that Lisa’s tires were slashed once and Travis’ tires slashed twice? If either of them would have made a police report could the report have been brought in as evidence?

It doesn’t make sense to me that TA didn’t make police reports for the slashed tires… except for the fact that he did not want his true relationship with JA revealed. Getting police involved might have opened up Pandora’s box for all to see if JA was questioned by police and that was what he was trying to avoid.

Hey everyone, what piece of evidence would you want admissible in court that has not been presented to the jury yet?

Tire slashing? Are the interviews with her parents included already? Those are the most damning to me, aside from the gruesome evidence photos which cannot be denied by anyone how brutal she was to TA.

They will testify that Arias was asked to leave their home, was also told she wasn’t welcome, and instead of leaving as asked, Arias STAYED!!! I’ll try to find the name of this couple.

Dr. Drew interviewed Hollie and Jacob Mefford on HLN. They provided the network with a videotape showing several friends gathered together after a convention in Ok City in 2006.

Travis had tells a true story about his near-death experience during a botched robbery. In the videotape, JA is resting her head in Travis’ lap.

1.A representative from the Cancun trip company where Travis won the trip 18 months before he was killed to prove motive by testifying that originally Travis had Jodi Ariasโ€™s name on the ticket and took it off and put Mimi Hallโ€™s name in her place.

          2. A Wal-Mart representative to prove pre-meditation by testifying that Jodi never returned the third gas can.

          3. A Salt Lake gas station representative to prove pre-meditation by testifying that gas was only sold when Jodi filled up the car tank and three gas cans after the murder.

          4. A police detective to prove pre-meditation by testifying that none of the knives found in Travisโ€™s house were the murder weapon and the shell casing found at the crime scene matched the .25 caliber bullets found at Jodiโ€™s parents home.

          6. IT specialist, perhaps they were able to recover what was on Jodi’s destroyed laptop the police found in her storage locker.

          5. The Mefford couple were added recently to testify about Jodi coming to their home uninvited and refusing to leave.

          7. Rumors of Lenore Walker

Now that I hear JA was asked to leave the couple’s home, I’ll bet she did something inappropriate while resting on him. I pay a lot of attention to details.

I can’t wait for ObiJuan to go back in to JA about her being a cold blooded disgusting psycho killer. (Showering with the body, wow Tamara!? I can believe it, she is so detached from how a normal person would feel about being nearly on top of a mutilated ex boyfriend!) Cold blooded indeed, she is a bad seed.

I was abused and neglected as a child, went into foster care homes and I turned out pretty great, not sure how but I did. I may be more resilient than some but she is ever the chameleon, completely selfish and morphed herself into a killer, she knew she would probably have to kill him when she started driving to Mesa AZ. She played sweet Jodi even in her journals for years, liar!!

I also wish the jury could find out that the ring JA stole was an engagement ring. I don’t understand why that can’t be brought in.

Again, yes, really, really wrong. JA’s been allowed to blither on ad nauseum, broadcasting accusations and weaving inferences re: Travis (talk about character assassination!), but issues of admissibility, prejudice, hearsay, etc keep out what appear to be more substantiated factors re: JA’s actions. However, maybe I’m just really in the dark re: how much concrete evidence actually exists to support certain things… in which case, DAMN! But to have to listen to JA & LaLittleViolina go on & on & on with their vile deceptions & flaky fairy dust… something’s really, really wrong with that. Now, I’m waiting for the jury to completely misunderstand the difference between reasonable & UNREASONABLE doubt (a la Casey Anthony case.) THAT’S when it goes really, really wrong and can’t ever go right again.

She then sent him another letter and said she would drag Travis’ name through mud as well as the Mormon church and that it would all be very painful for his family. Again, JM told her to bug off. Good for him. I believe she is going down for the whole thing, 1st degree premeditated murder.

And, seriously, what an exposรฉ it would be: JA forces herself onto the all-male camping trip guest list, takes a firearm to protect herself from anticipated sexual assault by her fellow campers, packs blades in her getaway car… all the creepy, tell-tale elements of the larger story in condensed form.

I have no idea about the “hung jury” question as it relates to attorneys for the Defendant. It’s her show. There may be a small cache of attorneys who’d jump at the chance to enter this ring of fire IMO.

There is 0% chance that she left that home covered in his blood. What time did she leave? Before the roommate was due to get off work and come home? That would be after work traffic if during the week. Someone would have spotted her. I do think her attack was very quick, he died from blood loss within minutes if I’m not mistaken, (no I don’t believe that “he charged her” story).

She was quick after realizing he was still not taking her on the trip, probably had a solid plan. How on earth was she able to get out without a scrape unless that’s how she ouchied her wittle finger? Because she slaughtered him when he was most vulnerable.

Then she tip toed through the desert, disposed of the weapons and went to cuddle with another man, Travis’ friend! Poor poor ptsd Jodi, she needed hugs after realizing what a monster she really was. Sick!!!

Someone here said Juan Martinez’ page says there was a non-public hearing today. It’s likely this was to hash out jury instructions since we’re nearing the end of the trial. I know those can take two days, too, so this may be the reason they’re not at trial on Monday, too,

Has anyone here been in a jury for a murder case? I have been called for jury duty a bunch of times but have either been dismissed or the cases settled before trial. My BFF was on a murder case in CT, 3 weeks she cancelled their paper, cable, Internet and got rid of her smart phone so she would not accidentally read about the case. She said the 3 weeks was a nightmare, I can’t even imagine what 9 weeks ( or is it 10) must be like for the jury.

I actually have served on a murder trial, but not a death penalty case. The first jury ended after a death threat was called in to one of the jurors. I live in a very small county and there are no secrets here. We were ordered not to watch the news, read the paper, or answer our own phone (I live alone so the judge ordered me to let ALL calls go to voicemail). We served for 11 days. I must say that all of us were what you would want on a jury. We followed the judge’s orders and we DID NOT discuss the case during our time in the jury room. I found Nurmi’s remarks about the jury not following the judge’s instructions insulting! I believe he said something to the effect of ‘It’s a fairytale to believe the jury has not been seeing the coverage of thish trial’. To me that means that not one of us can get a fair trial anywhere b/c the system doesn’t work. JA is receiving a trial by her peers as we are all promised. Maybe it’s the set of facts that KN doesn’t like. I try not to give advice, but I feel so passionately about this that I want to remind you younger people on this site to answer any juror summons you get. If you don’t serve then there can be no jury of your peers and you may need one down the road.

I would love to serve on a jury. For some reason, I’ve lived in the same city (for part of the year) for the last 22 years and have never received a jury summons. My parents, on the other hand, have received dozens in the small county where they live. They never get to serve. Might have something to do with the jury questionnaire when they ask you about your family and their professions. Their answers go something like this: “retired chief of police; police captain; sheriff’s deputy; lawyer (civil, not criminal); jail superintendent.” It pisses them off each and every time that they get booted.

I think the bear/tiger thing should have been explained like this. If you write tiger but it is really a bear, then the response would be to bears not tigers. For example, one would not go to bear funerals, send grandma bears flowers, call friends of bears, or profess undying love for bears. If the respondent wrote tigers you would look for tigers to be a trigger. If there was in fact no tiger and the person seemed to really like bears, then one would conclude that the respondent was malingering and the test would be invalid.

She sort of whiffed the ball a bit there by not going into enough detail.

I did not understand that question at all having PTSD once myself after I my son. A bear attack or tiger attack is still a traumatizing event. It is the “attack” that would cause the trauma. I agree with Dr D that the “triggering events” would be different. Meaning you if were attacked by a bear and you went to the zoo, you may avoid visiting the bears due to it causing a trigger which could potentially lead to a panic attack. If you visited the tigers, chance are that you would not experience a triggering event.

The bear/tiger question confused me as well, but I think it was asked in response to one of Dr. D’s statements. When she was discussing the PTSD tests, didn’t she say something to the effect that one’s answers would be different in response to an attack by a stranger as opposed to an attack by a loved one? Essentially, they would both fall under the umbrella of “Vicious Attack”, but the effect on a victim would be different according to the scenario.
I interpreted the juror question as wanting to confirm that: while an attack by either a bear or a tiger would still be considered “Attacked By An Animal”, a victim’s response to questions regarding an attack by either of them would be different from the other.
        My theory, anyway.

That question seemed like a challenge, a chance to rattle Dr. D. I was satisfied with the answer because I’m all in for the prosecution. Am I correct that both sides see the questions before hand and agree or object to them and the Judge decides if it shall be asked in court?

Don’t know either if the witness gets a “heads up”.

That makes perfect sense. I remember an interview with Travis Barker and he says he can’t fly anymore after the plan crash so he drives, takes the train or a boat. So when the doctor was talking bears and tigers I thought of him. The plane crash was the PTSD trigger, and while all the above fall under the umbrella of transportation it is only the plane that is his trigger. So while tigers and bears are animals the trigger would be the specific animal.

        If that makes sense.

While I believe that this trial has gone way off course, and should be more about the horrible murder of Travis as opposed to whatever the Hell is wrong with Arias, there are many fascinating things about it.
I think that the defense “experts” were biased toward Arias because they were easy to wrap around her finger; an older gentleman and a fairly butch older lesbian would be easy targets for someone who is used to using her “sexiness” (I’m using quotation marks, because I personally don’t see it.)
However, she would have been more antagonistic toward Dr. D during her evaluation, because she would perceive her as a threat/competition: young, attractive, smart, successful–she’s the anti-Jodi. She wouldn’t have been able to try to charm her while seeing her as that threat.
Also interesting: her use of makeup while Dr. D has been testifying. First day, just some mascara. Second day, a little eye shadow added (all of it washed off later, so she could appear more “ill”). Thursday, full on makeup, foundation and blush. She didn’t even resort to makeup during her cold sore period, but felt the need to break it out while Dr. D is on the stand. She’s on trial for her LIFE, for pete’s sake, and still shallow enough to feel threatened by another attractive woman.
    Fascinating.

Ditto! JA’s pathological need to seduce, who gets sucked in, who’s impervious, who (for example, Dr. D) really rattles JA’s cage & inflames her pathology most…. fascinating & core. Why would we NOT find the telltale signs compelling? i recall that, a few days ago, several of us were remarking on the makeup flux, while careful to note that we’re generally not concerned w/ such things. Yet, as Elissa01 points out so well, these are interesting, elucidating shifts… not, of course, from a legal perspective, but certainly in terms of human behavior?

(And, curious to me in terms of who’s advising this defendant – because there’s been a concerted & undeniable visual/persona strategy… which, IMO, has started to eat its own tail. i don’t think the defense team, much less their “expert witnesses,” had any idea what they were dealing w/ in JA.)

You are right, Jane!! From what I read, arias forged TEN letters supposedly from Travis to HER saying things like “I want you to wear boy underpants so I can tear them off” and “only when I’m with you, I don’t feel attracted to little boys” and other CARP that supported her warped view of the world. Nurmi was her attorney, but Wilma wasn’t. NO ATTORNEY CAN PRESENT EVIDENCE HE KNOWS IS A LIE because he is an OFFICER OF THE COURT! Therefore, when Nurmi found out these were forgeries, he refused to present them…as a result, SHE FIRED HIM, and decided to go Pro Per!

An analysis of the handwriting was done,(I am assuming by the prosecution) and proved to have been written by arias, so she lost that round in the battle. She then went to the judge because she was “in over her head” and Nurmi was ordered to be her attorney AGAIN!! If I remember correctly, he has TRIED to withdraw from this case at LEAST FOUR times! Even going so far as to leave the state’s employ and open his own office. The judge ruled even THEN that he had to stay on the case, but ordered that he be paid an amount as a private attorney, not a court appointed attorney.

He doesn’t want to be there!!! I’m guessing that he doesn’t like her crazed micromanagement of the case…or her lies… Arias’ personal smiley: :):
How to know if Arias is lying: are her lips moving?

I don’t think i could ever be a juror, given how much I’m beginning to know about how much I would never be permitted to know. I’m such an impressionist – and would be dismissed from the get-go (w/ a hearty laugh.)

I really would love to see the jury wait until June 4th, the date she killed Travis in cold blood, and then stand up and find her guilty of 1st degree murder and ask for the death penalty. There would not be any better justice than for her to hear her fate on the anniversary date of her brutal crime

Searched title & journalist on Huff & it came up right away. Very telling read, told from an “insider” perspective, who gained access back in the day, when JA was first workshopping her script.

Couldn’t help but notice, though, how Leach begins by describing us, the trial obsessed, as more or less a bloodthirsty lynch mob, over-processing minutia… then, proceeds to document exactly those things that have informed & riled us.

Also, found interesting the line where Leach talks about how, over time, the family & JA began to “trust” him. Hmmmm… “trust” him to do what exactly? LaVioletta was also very big on cultivating “trust” & equally as convinced she’d been uniquely successful. “Trust,” in this sorry tale, takes on a rather disturbing twist, having way too much to do w/ the Art of Manipulation & making Pacts with the Devil. “Trust,” they say… Too cynical of me to think that the muderess, the journalist & the psychobabblist were all in it for ultimate personal gain?

The article’s well worth reading. Thanks, puravidacostarica!

Interrogated by Detective Flores, J.A. mentions a book she had been reading :
M.Scott Peck, M.D.’s ” The Road Less Traveled” (1978). He has written other books :
“People of the Lie” (1982) and “Glimpses of the Devil : A Psychiatrist’s Personal
Accounts of Possession, Exorcism and Redemption” (2005). Did J.A. come upon
“The Road Less Traveled” after Alexander described her as Satanic ? None of the
theories of the 4 mental health experts has explained to me why J.A. would stab
multiple times and then shoot him. The eternal verities, among them, demonic
possession, makes a lot more sense to me. It explains why J.A. (as she told JdM)
felt “empty” inside. In religious terms, her immortal soul (the real J.A.) got smaller and smaller taken over ( perhaps from a very early age ) by another presence.
    JdM’ s theory of J. M.’s fear of abandonment/clinging desperately to men ? I can’t
think of anything worse than the desolation stemming from isolation from G…
She turned to Wicca. Who of us hasn’t fooled around with some form of the
occult ? She converted to Mormonism which is a type of occultism. At one point
in the trial J. A. speaks about certain men advanced spiritually, who are given the
secret advanced teachings of Mormonism : the secret, hidden to fellow humans
( including women) occult teachings. Those of us brought up in the
Judeo/Christian tradition ( when we choose to remember ) know that G…
abominates occultism and other false gods. There is no religion that does not have its pantheon of evil spirits. Given my theory ( no better or worse than the
human-generated psychological theories competing in this trial ) who really
wins if the State of Arizona puts JA to death ? Is the real criminal being
prosecuted ? Occasionally, I see something else leering out of J.A.’s face, something
else moving her tongue obsenely around the inside of her mouth, as she sits at the defence table, some other presence on a world wide media stage spewing filth
over all of us who watch this trial. His Satanic Majesty, a media star, who has weakened the Roman Catholic and Anglican Churches through sexual scandels, is
making headway with the Mormans, and stirring up more wars in which we
humans , who he hates, die. Martinez is smart, JdM is smart, but HSM is the
smartest of all. He’s convinced us sophisticated humanists that he doesn’t
exist : the world gets worse and worse : but there he is, as bold as can be, right in
front of us. As for JA there’s not much of her/soul left. What pathetic remnant that
remains, the majority of people want the State of Arizona to kill off. I keep wondering what the Jesuit psychiatrist W. Meissner S. J. who wrote a book on the
psychology of St. Ignacious of Loyolo, would make of J.A. ? Would he find the holiest priest exorcist still left in the Roman Catholic Church, and discuss her case ? How
I wish Wilmott could snatch JA out of His Satanic Majesty,s jaws and place her
in the hands of an exorcist far tougher than Juan Martinez. That’s my favourite
hypothetical outcome for this morality play trial where the forces of good are
contending with the forces of evil.

At last , things are beginning to make sense, The devil made me do it. Devoid of soul ,suicide by jury verdict. I too wonder if Jodi had a helper in this all. The fact that her ex’es had a part in this ritual murder.. They think they are sly. This was a ritual crime Premeditation started with the journals. If anyone has watched The Following ,with Kevin Bacon you can get an idea how these groups operate. Jodi is too smug, thinks she is fooling everyone .This does seem to be a battle between the darkness and light…. where is the mystery Matt Mccartney. No one can find his face anywhere. It’s the stuff we haven’t seen that could solve this . What about the manifesto? Wicca,The Secret, she devil even mentions Anton Lavey. Also look up the word succubus. One of her ex’es was said to have died from suicide when they broke up The defense witnesses’ for Jodi, another unholy alliance. It is well known that ritual murder with the many stab wounds and throat slashing is meant to drain all the blood from the victim. This is a crime of many dark souless minds trying to get their claim to fame.

I found this on another website…I had to share it with you!!

M: Iโ€™d like a hamburger medium rare please.
    J: Describe Medium for me.
    M; Not over done
J: What do you mean by rare?
M: Just a wee bit pink in the middle.
J: Iโ€™m sorry, can you repeat that.
M: A hamburger medium rare please. How long will that take?
J: It shouldnโ€™t take too long.
M: Well, How long? How many minutes?
J: How many Minutes for what?
M: How many minutes before my medium rare hamburger will be ready. Ready meaning in front of me ready to eat.
J: Uhmmmm It should be ready before my shift ends, but not before the people seated behind you leave.
M: Well how long will that be?
J: If I had to guess, I would say 15 minutes.
M: Okay. So in 15 minutes I will have a hamburger right?
    J: Yes.
M: Can I get fries too please.
J: We have many fries, can you be more specific.
M: Okay, I would like steak fries.
J: Uhhhmmmmm But you didnโ€™t order steak.
M: I know, I ordered a hamburger, I would like the steak fries, the style of fries with my order.
J: Uhhmmmm what order? The hamburger?
    M: Yes
    J: Okay, I guess.
M: I donโ€™t want you to guess. Can I get steak fries with my hamburger?
    J: Yes
M: Can I get a drink too? What kind of drinks do you have?
J: Here at the restaurant? Or the drinks I have at home.
M: Here. At the restaurant. To go with my hamburger and Fries.
J: I donโ€™t recall if I have any drinks at home. I live with my grandmother.
M: No. I need to know what drinks the restaurant serves.
    J: Uhmmmmโ€ฆ This restaurant?
M: Yes, the restaurant where I am going to receive my medium rare hamburger and steak fries.
J: Uhmmmm Iโ€™m sorry can you repeat the question?

Hi Rose… I’ve never really bought the story that Travis guilted her into anything (on that last day or any other time.) I think SHE guilted HIM (from practically the moment she left AZ to return home to northern CA.) I think she bugged him relentlessly to let her come over & repay the $ that SHE owed HIM and that THAT’S the guise under which she arrived at his house that night (maybe she also blithered on about some photos she wanted to give him – as a parting gift.) I think he DID wait up for her. And I think the dog barked when she arrived. And I think Travis probably intended to have her in & out and told her so… but, alas, that’s not what happened. I think Travis weakened and went for the booty call.

I do not believe Travis knew she was coming to his house for the simple fact of the txt/emails between them on the 26th of May. He would not have welcomed her. To me, thes msgs from Travis telling her she was evil and the worst thing that ever happened to him. The finality of his words triggered Arias’ rage and now her goal was revenge. The 28th she grabs granpa’s gun and makes her arrangements to kill him. She snuck into his house once again, crawled into his bed and once more used sex to try to manipulate him into keeping her in his life or else! She truly was a “psycho on a mission”. Tragically, for Travis, the psycho achieved her goal and some part of this twisted evil killer is actually proud of her accomplishment. She enjoyed the torture.

Wondering if anyone thinks that TA’s shower pictures look like JA was posing him very purposely for her oncoming knife attack. I do. I think she surprised him in the shower, they were done, she was dressed and (possibly as far as he knew) she was back on her way to crazy land. But instead she snuck back in to the home and up on him in the shower and started clicking away posing him. One minute she’s kneeling in front of him, the next she’s standing up and I guess either shooting or stabbing him (from what I see everyone has their own oppinion). I’m losing it having to wait for Tuesday, I can’t wait to see what Juan has coming up next!

JA was ogling over this photo in interrogation with Det. Flores, now we know why, she wanted to capture the pain in his eyes. I don’t think she had stabbed him yet, but I believe she showed him the gun or knife and asked him to beg to be spared. I can’t believe she wanted to capture his last moments, why didn’t she take the camera with her, anyway? I don’t get why she left such evidence.

I absolutely DO think there was something very deliberate, premeditated going on re: not only shower, but also whatever sex play led up to it. Can’t you see JA arousing him, his nudity, vulnerability, seducing his ego, vanity, &, as always, inciting his (Mormon) sexual starvation as well as associated personal dilemma & guilt.

How do you think she framed it to him? As their last hurrah, their swan song? Did she weep or flatter (or both) the clothes off his back?

It’s so much hurt and hostility that was brewing in her well before the day she killed him that makes me think. Before she stole the gun, even. Like in her diary, saying something like she had so much in her to accomplish. It’s cryptic, for sure, when you read on. She talks about seeing the mountains and blah, blah. But what is meant by her talk of having something brewing in her she must do? (Sorry for no reference. It’s in her cross examination.)

She says on the stand things like, “of course not,” repeatedly, in regard to not mentioning anything in her diary that would suggest Travis was abusive or some kind of pedophiliac. Well, this suggests she knows what to say or not in her diary. It also suggests she thinks someone might one day read her diary.

She said in her diary that the breakup would be good for both of them, “I think.” What is the meaning behind saying, “I think.”? Like maybe good for me, not for him? As a forensic psychologist, no I wouldn’t bring this up. It’s too speculative. But, I’m just me thinking about this girl. She interests me. She’s nearly got my sympathy until I really delve into the thought pattern.

I can’t help trying to get in her mind and seeing how she was positioning him in the shower for what she was about to do. I see almost demonic sarcasim. I don’t believe in demons. But she’s real close to the definition. She seems to me to be very much relishing those moments in the shower. The photo quality is bad. She’s not trying to take good photos. She’s positioning him in ways that are sarcastic of the way she is going to kill him. She’s playing with him like a toy. Travis is so unaware in his being her play slave here. He did say he’d play this role for her and she took advantage of that in the most highest of ways. Really, beyond what I would ever expect of such a person who does such things.

Maybe she even had him tied on the bed for the purpose of needing a knife to cut him out of that situation. Remember he said she could make him his slave, too. From experience, I know this switch happens to lure someone in. This girl thought this whole thing out so very much more than anyone seems to be suspecting. I think she thought this out as soon as she moved away from him.

A little truth lies in her lies. So sad when she explained in one of her actress wannabe media shows that he had lost feeling in his legs. That he was screaming. A .25 caliber is known for not killing people. It’s the joke of all self-defense guns. I think he was well alive when she shot him. I even think she shot him first in the shower, but maybe not. Hmm. Hardly makes a difference. So I forgive the prosicution, regardless of when she shot him. See the boy who was shot at Columbine. Paralyzed, but able to get out of the window. Oh, this girl. What, how much did she calculate? No telling.

One thing for sure–she tortured that guy and fully enjoyed what she did. It seems obvious from the photos in the shower, she was having him enact, so sarcasticly, what she was about to do.

Dee…my mother told me when I was a teenager to “never write anything you wouldn’t want read out loud in a court of law”. Good advice, although I can’t say that I’ve always followed it.

I’ve written things almost exactly like what Travis wrote in the IM, when he called her an evil sociopath, a vile human and the worst thing that ever happened to him! And I’ve spent HOURS venting my rage. So, I’m really not all that surprised by his out burst. Unlike Alyce laViolent, I don’t believe this sort of outburst is the tool of ONLY male abusers against poor little girls who sit and silently color while the adults have their grownup chats! A time comes when a person living with a socio/psychopath gets fed up with all the lies, manipulations and underhanded activities…and you just explode, and the words just come falling from your brain to the tip of your poisoned pen! (This is why I don’t believe he EVER HIT her!!! He wasn’t VIOLENT, he vented by YELLING!). (Oh,and she doesn’t LIKE getting YELLED at!)

I was engaged to a diagnosed sociopath/with narcissistic tendencies. It was like riding a roller coaster! He was SO CHARMING!!!! When I would tell someone what he was doing…NO ONE BELIEVED ME!!! “Oh, he did NOT!! He COUDNT do anything like THAT. You must ave misunderstood!!” The psychological team he worked with said “He has NO conscience! He doesn’t FEEL compassion the way YOU do!”

When I finally put an end to the relationship….hell hath no fury like a wounded sociopath! He stalked me…I feared for my safety…he did crazy things like show up in the sauna at the same time my BOSS was there….and he would say vile and believable lies to my boss…the woe is me…she is such an abuser…he parked in my apartment complex parking lot and sit and STARE at my windows…I would see his car following me on the freeway…I’d go out on a date, and he would be at another table staring at us…he was CRAZY!!!!! He tried to sue me to get back all the money he ever spent on dates with me, gifts he had purchased…and he had the receipts! And he wanted reimbursement NOT just for MY food & drink, but HIS too. “Well, your honor, I wouldn’t have gone to that restaurant by myself, I was only there because that’s where SHE wanted to go! Oh, and the gas he purchased, too!! The judge ruled that there was no “Bad Girlfriend” law. That he willingly spent the money! (I SWORE that if he WON that silly lawsuit, I was going to charge him for the sex I gave him!). All I had to do in the end was give his ring back to him! And he was ordered to stop following me around, “get a life” the judge ordered!

Darn it, I’ve gone on a rant, and I’ve forgotten my point!!

Oh, yea, I remember now….arias is a few sandwiches short of a picnic…but here is something my naughty self is looking forward to…I read on the maricopa website that last week the authorities seized her diaries in jail….I’m wondering if maybe THOSE new diaries might come in as evidence during rebuttal….now THAT might be interesting, huh?? :(:

          Yowee! Scary stuff!

Put your mother’s advice “never write anything you wouldn’t want read in a court of law” right there next to “always wear clean spideys in case of an auto accident”… seriously! After sorting & boxing all the archival stuff & whatnot, when my mother moved out of the family home, I was so (dare I say) traumatized that I came right back to my own house & shredded mountains of my own “creative writing”… God, what a tale it would’ve weave’d (out of context & in the wrong hands!)

And speaking of hellbent rants and blistering words, I suspect not a few of us have been reminded of a wee bit of the ol’ “character assassination” that’s rolled off our own tongues. I’ve channeled the devil a few times & find it hard to believe that LaShrinkingVioletta hasn’t gone a few rounds, herself.

    Three questions…

    1. Does anyone understand Willmott’s reason for asking DeMarte if the writing was the same on the yellow legal paper that Samuel’s supposedly copied from JA answers from the PTSD test?

    2. Did you think the writing on the paper was different? I thought it was but not sure what the significance of that was.

    3. I read on another blog that JA had gotten her boyfriend, Matt McCarty, to forge letters to her, as TA, admitting he was a pedophile. Has anyone heard or read anything about that. A handwriting expert said the letters were a forgery. I have not actually heard this BUT when Nurmi was questioning TA’s friend, Hughes, the first part of the questioning was about a letter. Hughes was very upset, saying Nurmi had told him and his wife that these letters were 100% confirmed as written TA’s. The Hughes were upset but then found out the letters were not allowed in because they were a forgery.

Rose, your #3 is so disturbing. Somehow I missed all this.

Re: #1, I assume Willmott’s point was that the handwriting was distinctly different, one from the next as exhibited side-by-side, “proving” that one belonged to JA & the other to Samuels. Hence (thinks Willmott), Samuels didn’t answer the questions for JA; he merely labeled the sections & transposed her answers. Ho-Hum… He was hopelessly unprofessional from start to finish & his opinions were based on flawed assessments & fuzzy thinking.

Hughes hired a handwriting expert who said the letters were 100% fake. Hughe did not mention, maybe doesn’t know who actually wrote those letters.

He also said as far as he knows neither he or his wife are on the rebuttal list. I’d imagine he would know by now but I’m pretty sure if JM calls him or his wife they will have no problem testifying.

I have watched the trial since Jan. and since I’m retired, I’ve become fairly obsessed. # 3 is correct. I believe the answer to #1 and 2 is the same. JW wanted to point out that Dr. Dick didn’t do anything really bad when he mishandled the testing data. I added some info @ the Hughes in an answer to smitsa above.

Apparently, a couple of places are saying that the police may now have the .25 used to shoot Travis with. So far as I know, it’s just Twitter (https://twitter.com/michaelbkiefer) and a posting to Beth Karas’ Facebook page, so nothing verifiable, but Kiefer is a writer for the Arizona Republic, so I’m not going to dismiss it out of hand.
I want so badly to believe this, but I’m not going to get my hopes up until I hear from a reliable source that it’s in the hands of the authorities, and that it’s the gun “stolen” from her grandparents’ house. And then, she’s soooo toast.

Elissa01, I’ve seen this same information on a couple of other blogs. Seems a man found the gun over a year ago wrapped in heavy paper and toilet paper that had mostly washed away. It was underneath a thorny cactus. The gun was loaded, only one bullet missing. He started watching the trial and thought this might be the gun so turned it over to the authorities. I just realized the date on the article was March 27. The paper or whatever it is is called Right Now I/O world wide news! Wouldn’t we have heard something about it before now if the gun was turned in nearly a month ago?? Stay tuned…..I guess we’ll find out soon if it’s fact or hoax!!

I saw, too, where Hughes tweeted a “found gun” was rumour…

… but, Hello, here in the Frozen North, we’ve been SO waiting for a thorny cactus reference to complete the desert motif! Surprised that She of Great Detail hadn’t worked it in (in some errant context) – perhaps, even tripped up on it…. so, here’s hopin’! Because neither the thorny cactus nor the toilet paper wrap should go to waste. Somehow, Rose, the story you tell just sounds too right to be wrong – but (sigh), will probably just turn out to be too good to be true.

Hughes twitter feed is pretty illuminating re: the negative email (which has figured so prominently) having been taken out of context as well as re: Nurmi’s guarantee to the Hughes that Travis was a pedophile. Diabolical! Absolutely unconscionable!

Pretty sure that Nurmi doesn’t want the Hughes within a gazillion miles of the court room. But, if Juan could get them there, he would be the Caterpillar Whisperer and get the truth out into the open?

Found this quite interesting from Hughes’ twitters. In 2007 when Hughes and his wife were talking to TA about JA , she was eaves dropping at the door. {He did not say this in the twitter but on HLN, that JA was very angry when this happened}. His wife was the one that threw her out of the house BUT it took HOURS to get her to leave! His wife told him then that JA was a sociopath.

KN called Chris Hughes to the stand and tried to make him say something bad @ Travis regarding the email where the defense says it showed even the Hughes knew that TA treated JA badly. Chris was very resistant to KN. For spite, Nurmi would not release Chris from his subpeona which means he’s not allowed to keep up with this trial. The TA argument is that the Hughes were trying to get JA out of his life any way they could and that is why the email was worded as it was. I hope the background is helpful. If you check youtube you can pull up almost all of the testimony. I watch livestream (retired kg. teacher) and am obsessed!

This is a great forum. So many insightful comments. I’m addicted to this trial but I think that all of us want justice and its not that we’re crazed and bloodthirsty in wanting JA to get the DP. I think it’s the savage way that she killed him and the nonchalant attitude that she has when she describes the events that lead up to his death. Even if she was scared for her life and acted in self defense (which I KNOW that is not the truth), even if she was scared…wouldn’t she still have some emotions surrounding the event? I mean, isn’t that what PTSD is? Experiencing flashbacks and triggers? Anxiety. Heightened responses in relation to the experience. I am in therapy for PTSD for something that first happened over 30 years ago but I still can’t speak of it without obvious signs of distress. I do understand that it is different for each person but, who slashes the throat of someone that you once loved and can speak of it so coldly? Even if she went into a fog (ha), she still remembers shooting him.
I know that she is trying to ‘act’ this out, trying to speak in that flat affect (but then she forgot and sparred with Juan). But she wanted us to think that she was just suffering from her PTSD, and experiencing one if the side affects – the flat affect.
I think that was supposed to be woven in with her story but I think that her experts didn’t emphasize this side affect as much as she expected them to.
And, the fog. What is fog? Cloudy, misty… Even dense at times but she did say ‘fog’ and not ‘blackout’. I would think if there was a fog that she would have ‘glimpses’ of what happened and as time passes she would remember more and more.
Happy Monday to everyone and hopefully we’ll soon be back in the courtroom!

On a side note, after watching and listening to EVERY second of this trial, it has become my personal opinion that the “death penalty” is to good for Jodi Arias. I personally would LOVE to see her get life w/o the possibility of parole. That puts her out of gen pop in the prison system. Limits visit/phone contact. Places her in pod with very limited interaction even with other inmates. It would clip this ugly butterflys wings! It would be everything she hates most in the world,no personal interaction with others! I aam praying that JUSTICE be served and peace finds the Hearts of Travis’s family and friends.

When Lt. Flores interviewed Lisa Andrews after TA’s death, she told him that after second tire slashing, they did call the Mesa police department to report the incident. They waited several hours for police officers to come to her home to take the criminal damage report but could wait no longer. However, they did get an incident report number that was given when TA called, which Flores noted. Perhaps Flores is on the rebuttal list to tell spill these beans.

I seemed like a lot of folks were interested in NAPOLEON. He is with a friend I believe it is the Anderson woman. The source said that he is partially blind and deaf. Evidently that is a fairly common thing for that breed. There was also a photo of him in a bed with lots of toys. The source also said that that was what Travis wanted. I think I heard somewhere that Travis had a will. I just searched for “Travis Alexander Napoleon”.

Exactly, Liz & Tori… JA is. clearly so enamoured with, confident of & blasรฉ re: her lying that she fails to note how utterly ILLOGICAL her stories & rationales are.

She probably coveted her own money like Scrooge. Surely, she never lent any to Travis (though I don’t doubt he had young bachelor-type money issues, as reported.) But, the idea that she lent him any significant amount of money seems absolutely preposterous to me. Another ruse!

As far as JA’s road-tripping, I’m sure she always had (or “acquired”) enough money to fund her obsessions & capers du jour. And vacations, rental cars, ammo costs, knife-sharpening fees, doubling up on gas, Starbucks super drinks, mid-trip mani-pedis, hair dye, etc just don’t fit the picture of a recently re-located restaurant shift-worker short on cash, who presumedly had rent to pay and a massive cell phone bill and photography habit to support, not to mention a BMW debt. O J had $ for what J wanted $ for. Even now, J appears quite able to get $ for what J wants $ for. A very resourceful little piece of trash!

She was going to Utah to see Ryan Burns. I believe the murder was premeditated and Matt and Darryl were needed to complete her plans. She spent the night at Matt’s on 6-3-08 I think. Then went to Darrys’s to acquire the gas cans. There is speculation that she traded the DVD player that was stolen from her grandparents’ house for the 2 gas cans from Darryl. I expect JM will bring out more of this in closing. But, I have come to expect the unexpected from Mr. Martinez.

Not to mention she was visiting two other men along the way, no wonder Travis didn’t want her as his wife, other than being bat shit crazy, she was “cuddling” with any man with a decent leather wallet in his pants. No velcro for Jodi. lol. Geez.

I bet she tried to make him jealous by visiting his friends and other men from her past, it didn’t work because he was done with her completely, which infuriated her even more. I bet she showed up in those damn braids, just begging for it, begging to change that ticket from Mimi’s to her name. Used toilet tissue is what she felt like because she was that. No self respect, only vanity, always trying to get something from men. I worked as a waitress 10+ years ago while in school and plenty of the other servers were similar in their men hunting tactics.

I kept myself busy these off days of trial by listening to the testimony when it started, her interrogation tapes are so damn telling, I feel like there is some truth in them, like someone said here, her saying he couldn’t move his legs, it became more blatant to me that she really wanted to watch him bleed. I also had a roommate around the same time I was a server, she was Wiccan. She would cast spells on men in her life. I high tailed it out of there quick when I witnessed this. I imagine if you are into the dark arts (I know most of them are peaceful) letting someone bleed out in front of you would make you feel VERY powerful, watching the life in their eyes diminish. She is sick and demented beyond words.

No offense to Wiccans, I don’t need any spells!!!

The pretty young lawyer from Az., Monica is her name I think, just said that she doesn’t expect the judge to allow it b/c the trial has to end at some time. I guess they really are bothered by Dr. D’s testimony! JM was not allowed to do that for the defense case. They are also asking for a heat of passion verdict to be given to the jury. Monica said that is totally up to the judge and JM has no part of that decision.

For Good or Bad, something wicked comes this way, this is as close to the devil in human form as the eye can see. Wouldn’t be surprised if she eats dust for lunch. I don’t think at this point any one church could contain this form of evil. We could start with a southern baptism, coupled with a catholic exorcism, ending with a foursquare pentacostal experience ,fire comes down from heaven , and Jodi’s journals become gospel.. That is downright scary. At this point the snake whisperer could put her in a trance and subdue her making us believe she is not a danger anymore. That is even more frightening.

So, I promised myself I would quit this JA obsession – So everyone please correct me if I’m wrong here:

Surre Rebuttal – gives the Defense to fight only the witness’ and facts brought out in the prosecution’s rebuttal. It should be extremely limited and sometimes they can bring new witness’, too. In AZ it’s up to the Judge.
Otherwise the defense would only get one more chance to speak to the jury now and that would be in their closing argument. JM will get the last word – because they have the burden of proof.
I just heard it’s an AZ this charge is rarely used. But if there are facts in evidence contained in the defense’s case – Manslaughter 1 by (heat of passion) & (sudden quarrel brought on by the victim) is already built in the “pyramid” of charges – downward.
The Defense has requested this as a “Jury Instruction” because they originally presented their case as Self-defense/Domestic Abuse to fight to just to get a 2nd Degree Murder verdict.
So , basically, as a trial progresses – Defense have the opportunity to switch gears (a little) and address new strategies within the case to offset the charges/punishment. [ ! had a feeling this would happen]
It’s up to the – Judge and case law – that will determine her decision. JM can object to the motions and/or fight the “verbiage” of the instructions – but it’s likely the Defense will get it. This gives any Juror that has reasonable doubt as to Murder 1 – a chance to argue a lesser – Lesser.
So, Judge Stephens has let so-oooo much in that would probably not otherwise be relevant – (it’s a death penalty case) & (JA’s right to a fair trial), blah, blah, blah.
Remember ! – Pre-mediation can happen in just minutes before the crime. JA did testify that she stopped to remember… “where ‘the’ gun was!” That could be viewed as an intent to kill him – instead of flee the circumstances.
I think it an attempt to get 2ND DEGREE MURDER – which is what she wanted to “plea” out in the first place. She’d could be out of jail early as 5.5 yrs.!
Bet they think they have one or two jurors..! – See if I have this right ?

    1st Degree / Premeditated Murder
= Jury Must be unanimous with Death+ Life w/o Parole
    > Then there would be another “mini” Mitigating trial so JA can beg the to
spare her life from the needle.

2nd Degree Murder – Intent to Kill
= From what I just heard allows the Judge to determine her sentence.
    > JA could / would get = Min. – 10 yrs. to Max. – Up to 22 yrs.
= With time served (JA has been in 4.5 yrs.)

    Manslaughter 1 – (In AZ) =
    > Would include “heat of passion” or “sudden quarrel brought on by victim
= Just a couple months in jail. SHE WOULD WALK IMMEDIATELY ??!!

IT’S APPARENT THAT JODI THINKS SHE IS COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED
IN THIS CRIME AND DESERVES BETTER THAN ANYBODY ELSE IN THE WORLD !! – GRRRRRRRR !!

I suppose, like Willmott had Dr. D do, he could just look at all the test results and testify on that. I did see on Tuesday’s thread that TT had posted a review for this guy’s latest book and the he was not a credible witness and has had testimony thrown out before. Surely, JM is on that and that should be the best reason not to waste the courts time. I know we all hope the defense does not get to call this guy. Keeping fingers crossed…

Correction: Just heard on HLN – that Manslaughter / Heat of Passion = 7 to 21 years. So I guess they meant she’d had 2 YEARS (not months) left to serve – minimum. Sorry !

I keep reading suspicions that Dr. Lenore Walker has been added to the prosecution’s rebuttal list. If she does, in fact, testify that she still uses her test for Battered Woman Syndrome, and that Wilmott lie to a witness in open court in front of a jury, will Wilmott then face some sort of sanction? I can’t believe that something like that would be allowed, and she gets away with it it will set a HORRENDOUS precedent for our already dysfunctional “justice” system.
    Does anyone know about this?

Nothing concrete, since no one can find a rebuttal witness list (I think Tamara said she was trying to track it down?); but because Wilmott tried to impeach Dr. D’s credibility by that statement, a lot of people believe that he has added her to his rebuttal list to refute it.
Either way, we know she lied in front of the jury. I have very little faith in our system of justice, but even I can’t believe that she could get away with that.

Very early on the rebuttal case included Dr. D, a rep from Walmart, and someone from either the cruiseline or the credit card Co. that processed the tickets. Today I heard that Det. Flores, love that policeman, is also on the list. Let’s get ready to RUMBLE! JM starts again tomorrow. Wonder how long the meetings and requests in judge’s chambers go on in the morning???

Just got a fb message which says theat the prosecutor has objected to the defense putting on a surrebuttal to JM’s surrebuttal…he’s not even finished putting on witnesses yet. I’d say Dr. D scared the mess out of them. My source was the Justice 4 Travis site.

Going to bed now. Just read some information about the witness that the defense wants to call. They called Dr. Gaffney a ‘hired gun for death penalty cases’ and that he had some testimony thrown out for shoddy work. I don’t see ushearing from this guy. It would prolong the trial, he is ALV’s colleague, and he has already been discredited in another court case. Strange and stranger! Meet you all here tomorrow.

Wow. Okay. “Strange and stranger,” indeed. Why would the DT even go this route? Nighty-night!

I am so glad to read the fact, Dr. Robert Gaffner may be as crazy as the last two “expert witnesses for Jodi Arias. Mr. Martinez will get the last laugh on him as well. So glad I found this site.

Gonna try to get a seat in court tomorrow – can’t wait. Should be riveting in light of what the defense is trying to get through. Don’t know how it’ll feel seeing JA – or who she’ll be morphed into! Has anyone attended court and can you advise how early you realistically need to arrive?

According to Dr. Drew’s jurors, you have to be online by 5 am. Katie Wick didn’t make it in today. It’s getting harder and harder. Good luck getting a seat and don’t forget to tell us all about it!

Jane, I have a sick pit in my gut too ! (No jury will convict me)

DF using Dr D’s BPD as an open door to slither in ~ Heard JM argued Dr Fog opened it first. More diversions & last ditch efforts. Wow – will JM go after new witness with a vengeance.

I read ramifications of this motion is a huge smack down to court. Other mistral motions notwithstanding, if it’s NOT let in – it could bring up MUCH GREATER & egregious grounds than other motions. Apparently the constitutionality has a higher threshold & could certainly result in THROWING OUT entire conviction.

She’d be FREE as a Butterfly [Effect] ! Remember, she clued Det.Flores ? – JA’s pre-meditations ARE clues in that movie, among other movies too. (… I’ve researched my weird theory and it fits JA’s copy cat disorder) AND includes her Reflection in TA’s pupil drama too. — Very twisted.

JM must fight fervently to get “Limited” instructions. PLUS go to battle with yet ANOTHER BS defense strategy. Bet it was the plan all along. As usual, they’re counting on fogging up the jury in confusion.

Watch JA’s now ! ~ We’re about to witness pseudo “Sybil” transform into pure selfish, hateful ~ EGO ! I don’t buy the compassion thing at all. Her eyes will be black as coal and her smile will be like razors. She thinks she has taken on 100’s of years of secret doctrine & rituals all by herself. She believes she is EPIC !!!!

Here’s hoping jury JA sympathizers will get sent home when their #s are drawn.

It makes me terribly sad that Judge Stevens doesn’t have a spine ! Ok I understand to give as much leeway due to DP case but at some point use the the Law you were either appointed or voted by citizens, to use Judge! You have given in to so much, essp.made up stories with NO evidence to back up these stories,I think it’s a slap in the face of justice and taxpayers to NOT throw out discredited, clearly incompetent, biased testimony.Much less allow another incompetent expert testify. He runs a for profit quack of a school that says its a non profit.I can’t find where he did undergrad and postgrad.studies?I would thoroughly check out every claim to education background and all publications before she should allow Mr.Geffener to testify.Man I’m mad! Haha.Sorry guys I’m just sick of the Judges behavior at this point.

Should have posted this in the chatter thread, SORRY! I CAN’T DELETE A POST…my words are forever? Anyone else hear about JA’S diaries from prison getting confiscated?

Obi-Juan is approved! Rejoice! Thanks, Tamara! Love these drawings by Lauren, especially Nurmi. I think the Judge is prettier in real life, but it definitely shows her frustrations with this trial.

I found an answer to a question that was asked. How did JA afford to go on that trip to Mesa and Utah?

Answer was on Dr. Drew, aired on 02/06/13…guest was Paul Stern. He met JA when she was an employee at Ventana. He said she came there every night to use the computer and would sit next to him. They became friendly. The day before she left on the infamous trip, she was frantic, talking about Travis, saying he was dating other girls and she had to go back to see him and she asked to borrow money from him for the trip. He did lend her money, didn’t say how much, and she did pay him back.
