Have you ever wondered what Andy Cohen’s apartment is like? If so, you should head over to this New York Times article for a bit of insight. The article by Jacob Bernstein has some cool pictures by Jacob Bright of Andy’s place. It has a feel of what a rich teenager’s apartment would look like if he had his own place while attending Columbia. Lot’s of pop art and lots of WWHL type memorabilia taped to the walls. It’s like the clubhouse only larger with better views. He purchased the bachelor pad in the West Village in 2003. Go take a look at it and come back and tell me if it was what you were expecting. Be sure to click the “more photos” link under the main picture.
I am so surprised he doesn’t have Gucci dinnerware or iron railings like wealthy folks do
rich teenager….ahaha…perfect description!
Do I smell another restraining order?
I DIDN’T TAKE THE PICTURES! lol. Probably. I hope the court date is in NYC. I haven’t been in ages. Broadway, here I come!
LOVE it! Very hip!
Love the Eames chair, but that’s about it. All that kitsch everywhere would drive me crazy after about an hour! You are right, Tamara, in that his taste is rather…unsophisticated to put it mildly.
The Eames chair was the first thing I noticed and you know it screams “I have taste AND money to prove it”. I think he will probably bring in a really great remodeling team and designer later on. Right now he’s too busy making millions off the Real Housewives. Just look at that smug smile on his face. That’s a smile that says everybody knows my name and they’re falling at my feet and I will sit on my own island one day soon watching the sunsets.
Why am I disappointed?
Almost looks like a straight guy’s apartment.
You know straight guys with Madonna and Andy Warhol stuff everywhere and pictures taped to the wall with scotch tape? If so, I have some news for you that is going to be like getting hit over the head with a baseball bat.
Ok, not the Madge stuff. But a pretentious straight guy, I could totally see having that decor.
He has Andy Warhol’s book and Madonna’s sex book on his table AND a gold plated roller skate. No straight man (pretentious or not) is gonna have that stuff in their apartment. LOL
No straight guy I no has an apt. like that.
It looks exactly like I’d imagine his apartment to be, if I’d ever actually imagined it which I hadn’t, until now 😛 I love Andy!
Kinda lame for a man his age and money he makes. That mirror – ummm – not my style.
It looks like the WWHL studio; crap everywhere.
He’s always said the WWHL set looks like his den.
His real den doesn’t have a giant vagina rug though. That was the shocking thing as much as Andy loves his vagina rug in the clubhouse.
Ok, nothing to really look like at, just kinda reminds me of a kids place, don’t see much adult going on there.
Are you sure this is his place? Most gay men I have met have MUCH better taste.
The only thing the room with the bed was missing a Bong and bag of Doritos.
It screams “Don’t touch my stuff, I’m single and staying that way”, It reminds me of a kid building a fort and putting their treasures in it,
Hey, it looks like a really down-to-earth apt I bet he is saving a boatload of money by not moving out. There is no reason for him to spend his money on a ridiculously large condo, when it is just him. I actually admire him for being smart with his money.
Love his study. I think what surprises me about the house is that it looks like a normal place with interesting things brought in. Not decorated so much as filled which is what gives it the “straight guy” vibe some people are referring to. I expected someplace a little warmer-looking that incorporated the these bold pieces a bit more.
Tamara, thank you so much for this info. I loved looking into Andy’s house.
I think his apartment is hideous. The chairs are an eyesore and that mirror has to go. I expected much more from our Andy. And not a picture of La Streisand anywhere in sight. This is outrageous for a gay man.
I agree, it looks like a rich teenager decorated it. But that’s what Andy reminds me of — a teenager. A very immature teenager…who only likes women who make complete fools of themselves. I can only stand him in very tiny doses. Wait, that’s not quite true. I can’t stand him at all.
I like to think Andy is an intelligent guy who stays focused on what is important. Can’t even imagine how he manages a smile and an uplifting, entertaining show on WWHL night after night . . . . when he should be contracting “housewife hits” via the Bravo mob.
I like that he is true to himself and has what he likes. He does have some nice pieces individually, but they don’t work together well. The scale is off, and there is nothing that brings them all together as a composition. I’m always sad that there are lots of Andy haters. I was on the fence when he first came on the scene for the season 2 OC reunion. My mind was forever changed when I watched his videos reading his viewer email. He handled the haters in such a sweet and hilarious way. You could tell he was smart, funny and at his core, kind.
