After the last episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta, there was some discussion here about the winner or the pageant. The winner did seem to look a bit similar to the girl who Kenya brought in claiming she was a young girl who looked up to her for guidance and advice. In Cynthia’s blog this week, she denies that the pageant was rigged. Cynthia also addresses the numerous bobbles with her pageant and says that despite them all she was proud of the outcome. She lists her many sponsors including Derek J’s salon, The J-Spot.
In addition, Cynthia list a total of 18 judges involved with the pageant. I must say I have never in my life heard of so many judges! I’m still not over the fact that Kenya didn’t wear her crown! With regard to the rigging allegations that Cynthia received on twitter, she had this to say:
FYI: There seems to be some confusion about the young lady that Kenya brought by The Bailey Agency to meet me. I received some tweets that implied that she won Miss Renaissance, and that I rigged the pageant for her to win for Kenya.
A. I would never do anything that unethical.
B. I had no involvement in the judging process.
C. The young lady did not end up participating in Miss Renasssiasnce 2012, therefore it was not possible for her to win.
So there you have it. It was a different girl altogether who won and that girl who Kenya brought in was probably some producers kid getting a little camera time. Oh, and Cynthia can’t spell renaissance, I’m just saying..
UPDATE: Hmmmm a lot of people are insisting it was the same girl. Can someone go back and check?
Since I read the allegations here in comments before watching the episode I made sure to look closely at each girl when I finally did watch. To be honest, it’s really hard to tell. Pageant winner was all dolled up of course. I can believe Cynthia that it wasn’t the same girl, they just look ALOT alike. I’ve seen enough “every day” dopplegangers to know it’s easy to mistake one person for another sometimes.
What I don’t understand is why Ms. Cynthia decided to have her pageant in two weeks and not take more time to plan. It comes off as money hungry which is obvious I guess when you have a business. But honestly It came off all wrong and was done way to fast to make the pageant seem like something I would want my child in in the future. Not good for her business’s reputation to say the least! The event was so unorganized that not only did the announcer get the name’s wrong but didn’t even care enough to dress somewhat formerly (Not to mention she didn’t even read the script ahead of time, she did it minutes before which in itself is ridiculous).Guess that’s how It is when you ask in favors and don’t want to pay for anything or anyone’s services. She went about it all wrong especially for the event being organized on television for us to see how she conducts her business. Everything just seemed extremely shady and like it was an afterthought. You get the sense that these parents had their children involved because they are fans of the show hence wanted the chance to be on TV. Also I thought It was strange and shady of her to ask Porsia to be involved and then talk shit about her to everyone, her bailey boys, Kenya and most likely Nene and Papa smurf as well. I wonder If she still gave some of the profits to Porsias family charity or If because she said her assistance was no longer needed that meant she didn’t want part of the proceeds to go to her? Shady, Shady is what I say. It’s no wonder the event seemed questionable, It totally was and didn’t really seem to benefit the young ladies involved anyways. It looked like there was two winners of a huge group of young potentials and a huge group of judges, why is that? She should have not been so cheap and bought a few more crowns, just my opinion.
Also I think that was a different girl. She has completely different eyes and a different smile. The girl Kenya brought to the agency has more slanted small eyes than the girl who won. Jus sayin..
I so agree. Cynthia throwing (and I mean that literally) this pageant together in 2 weeks does not sit well with me.
It came to me as I was reading your post, Tiffers, that Cynthia may have cut Porsha loose because she saw that she wasn’t going to make much money on the pageant & didn’t wanna give any of the percentage to Porsha’s family’s charity. If true, she couldn’t very well give that as the reason she was letting Porsha go, so she had to go with “you haven’t been doing your job”. I hope this isn’t true, but when it came to my mind it made sense to me.
nope different chick…shes way thinner
I just looked again and the girl Kenya brought in looked older and more physically developed than the winner. But this is Atlanta we’re talking about so butt sizes change daily. Hmmm…. Also, no wonder it took so long to tally the scores!! They had more judges than contestants. LOL!!
I’m with you, Tamara!! Where the hell was Kenya’s crown?! You know that attention whore would have loved to show it off. I would think that she would have at least worn her Michigan crown. I have 2 guesses as to why:
A. Miss USA and the Miss Michigan organizations confiscated them after her little sex tape fiasco. (probably unlikely as she still has the USA sash)
B. Some greasy pawn shop owner has them in his possession!!
I’m leaning more towards option B!!
I’m leaning toward option B too. She did take it to WWHL when she was on. Apparently times are hard. Maybe she got it out of hock after her little trip to Dubai? 🙂
You know you may be on to something, Tamara!! Mysterious trip to Dubai and stallion booty dvd drops a couple of weeks later. She was probably giving up the stallion to get that video completed! I hope she does something more reasonable with her new found attention (can’t bring myself to call it fame) like endorse African Pride hair products, Proactiv, or Abilify. Between that horrid single & workout video, she’s already in the negative!!
I wonder if Kenya has sold her crown for…cash???
Umm now she ripping off baby girls lawd
There is a lot of money in reassuring parents their baby is pretty. 🙂
I read elsewhere that the winner and the young girl with Kenya are different people, even though they have a similar look. I will give Cynthia a pass this time. I also read that Kenya didn’t wear her crown because the current MS USA was there as a judge. Maybe there is some protocol on that, but I really don’t know.
LOL The current Miss USA, Olivia Culpo, was not there. Miss USA has much more to do than go to two bit pageants during her reign. Kenya was the highest holding pageant winner there and the biggest draw for contestants. I maintain that something odd is going on for her not to wear her crown when everyone else did. Maybe she is not allowed to appear in crown AND sash after her reign out of respect for the new winner.
okay after looking back, I don’t see any of the former Miss USAs wearing their crown to future Miss USA pageants. It’s probably all part of “giving up your crown” when the new girl is crowned. You can keep it for a momento but not make public appearances in it.
Sure it wasn’t rigged Cindy….just like the Nut showing up dressed like a fool, ie Kenya….okay.
I’ve watched it twice – it sure looks like the same girl to me. Would love to hear what others think/see!
Wow I was shocked to see this post and comments. In no way did I find the girl that Kenya was “mentoring” and the girl who won the pageant even look alike in the tiniest detail….coloring, facial features, body type, ethinic/racial background. Absolutely nothing similar at all.
They looked enough alike to make me think that it was the same girl.
I was cleaning out my DVR and zipped through to compare the two. My official ruling is not the same girl.
