Brandi Glanville is a New York Times Best Selling Author!

February 22, 2013 by tamaratattles 25 Comments

RHOBHbrandiBrandi Glanville was pretty bummed when she found out that her distribution deal didn’t include brick and mortar stores selling her new book Drinking and Tweeting. Just the other day she put out a plea on twitter asking all her fans to buy the book and it seems that they did in droves!  Brandi, like every author, really wanted to be a New York Times Bestselling Author and today she is!

Brandi is number ONE on the NYT e-Book Non-Fiction list and number two on the NYT combined e-book and Print Non-Fiction! That quite an accomplishment when the book was only for sale on Amazon!  Congrats Brandi!  Perhaps you should send Leann a thank you bouquet for having a meltdown about the book!  Rumors are now swirling that Brandi wants to write a second book about RHOBH behind the scenes secrets. I’m not sure if Bravo would like that very much! Do you think she can get away with that? Surely there is something in the Bravo contract about that, right?

If she goes ahead with the second book, she should also launch her own wine that way every book purchase will include a bottle of wine

Seems like everyone who releases a book these days gets on the NYT list. I think even Taylor got on it. Not really all that special to be honest.

I get what you are saying, Jericho. I think there are a couple of reasons for that. The NYT has expanded their lists from just Fiction/Non-Fiction Hardback/Paperback to include e-books (to keep up with the times). E-books are cheaper and out sell printed books. Also, there are a lot of bored people watching the housewives. It’s a TON of free advertising that most books don’t get. That said, to be the number one e-book is quite the accomplishment.

It helps to be on television (free promotion). There are so many books published that only a small number make it to the NYT list. My partner’s books haven’t made it on the NYT, then again he’s not on television hawking them

It helps but it isn’t a guarantee.. Many others on TV and especially reality shows published books that didn’t make it to the list, let alone the top. Only a very few.

I am glad for Brandi and hope this is her first step in creating a life for herself and her boys.

Speaking of that, I just noticed that Taylor Armstrong has the same publisher as Brandi. Taylor’s book is at 15,000, not bad.

Good for her! Like Jericho said though, it’s an easy feat these days. I preordered it so it’s sitting in my kindle app, I’m just not in a book mood lately. It’ll probably get read during my move in the next few months.

A friend of mine is going to send me the book when she is done. I haven’t had much time for books lately but this should be a quick light read. I’ll give a review here when I finish.

It’s a fast, funny, easy read. A great beach book or a good one for a rain/snow storm or if you have a few hours to kill on a Sunday.

Having a book distributed to stores has to be very expensive. The only books I see in Wal-Mart or grocery stores are the top 20 authors that have a long history of Best Sellers like James Patterson.

The large bookstores at least in my area are going out of business one by one.

I am glad her book is doing well. I like Brandi but I hope she does not twit or mention Leanne and Eddie after her book tour is over. She has to stand on her own without mentioning her crazy ex and Leanne.

Funny how Bravo will be asking Brandi and Lisa back and all the other housewives that tried their best to take her down might not be asked back.

Kuddos to Brandi that’s a huge accomplishment. Its true she did have the housewives platform to promote it but it also was what the book was about that sold it and her being just Brandi of course.I remember when “Countess Luann” and Nene put out books didn’t really make me want to go out and buy them.I believe they didn’t even sell that well and they had the show to promote it.

Tamara I think you will enjoy Brandi’s book. I preordered it so it was delivered to my Kindle on the release date. It is a very fast paced book and can be read in a few hours. It does grab you and once you start you don’t want to put it down until you are done. Brandi says it is for people who are gay and who have vaginas but in reality it is a book that anyone who has had a huge setback in the dreams they envisioned for them selves would benefit from. Basically Brandi married Eddie when she was young and coming from a strong family background (bohemian parents but loving parents and close family) she was content to give up her career and wrap her whole world around Eddie and their kids.

When she discovered what a cheating whore he was her world slowly fell apart yet for the sake of her family she still tried to reign him back in because her family unit meant every thing to her. Her devastation explains her rapid decline to booze and crazy behavior but through it all Brandi found strength in herself and out of love for her kids, fought her way back from the hole she was in. In the process she found and created an even stronger Brandi. It is an inspiring story and will make you laugh, cringe and cry at times. I admire her courage and guts in that she didn’t go easy on herself, she bared her own soul and her shortcomings just as much as she told the candid unfiltered truth about Eddie and LeAnn. Clearly Brandi’s inlaws loved her to death and in fact Eddie’s Dad drove Brandi and her Mom to her vaginal rejuvenation surgery and Brandi discussed what she was doing with Eddies Mother before she did it.

The book deserved to make it to its position on the best sellers list.

I don’t get Bravo. This season of Beverly Hills has drama in every episode, and the ratings are very high, yet they are not “pleased” with the season? Just like on RHONY Season 4, it was the highest rated season of the series, yet they were not “pleased” and chopped half the cast… and in season 5 the ratings were lower and they said they were pleased with the show. That doesn’t make any sense at all.

Bravo, we tune in to see wine throwing, cat fights, and fuckery. We don’t tune in to see “classy” with the exception of Lisa Vanderpump. Lisa is able to pull off being classy on the Housewives.

I don’t believe those sources. I think what is happening is Adrienne got the axe for taking legal action against Bravo, they want to get rid of Taylor because she is a liability and have been working her out since last (this) season. ALTHOUGH, I think she might have a shot at staying because there has been a change in viewer opinion of her. And Yolanda may be too sick to film.

It’s not that they necessarily WANTED a cast shakeup, but circumstances make it likely. Kyle is not going anywhere, neither is Lisa or Brandi. Marissa or whatever her name is was kind of a dud like Pam…. I think we will just see some new faces.

Also, don’t believe the Leann Rimes stuff. As much as we would love it, it will never happen.

Tamara, I like Marissa. She seems outspoken and funny. She also has become good friends with Brandi, I think she may come back.

I think she also gets into a fight with Taylor in later a future episode.

I would like to see more of her.

My daughter and I each bought the book, a quick read — silly, sad, but fun. Good for you, Brandi! Hold your chin up and STFU when those biatches want to get you down.
