Will Jodi Arias Testify About The Actual Murder Today?

February 19, 2013 by tamaratattles 75 Comments

Jodi Arias trial.

UPDATE: You can read our comments on Day 8 of Jodi’s Testimony about the actual murder here.

In perhaps the slowest moving trial in criminal history, Jodi Arias is set to take the stand today barring any unexpected interruptions in trial. Jodi has been on the stand recounting her life from birth until…June 4, 2008 when she murdered Travis Alexander. The last day of testimony was last Wednesday. Jodi has worked her way to May of 2008.  We have sat through six days of testimony so far. Will day seven actually get us to her explanation of why she killed him?

If you are watching. Leave me your reactions to the case in comments. I am dying to hear everyone’s opinions. I will be multi-tasking throughout the trial but I’ll make comments as well when I can. Let’s watch!

Jodi Arias’ mother is very smiley and happy in the galley. Laughing with her family and getting water out etc. The blond behind her is making a snarky face about it. Its really rather bizarre.

The blond is one of Dr. Drews jurors who appears on his show. That said, Dr. Drew and most of the male pundits all decided a long time ago that Jodi Arias is solely to blame. Not cool, especially when its basic law to reserve judgement until all the evidence is heard.
I think basically this is a fatal attraction on both Travis and Jodi’s part. It was going to be either her or him and she won. It was a rage killing. For a woman to be able to stab someone 27 times takes adrenaline and rage as most people do not realize how hard it is to stab someone once or twice.
I think Jodi is deeply screwed up and i think Travis was screwed up too, but also a pig of epic proportions. His phoney Mormon persona might of worked on his dopey Mormon friends. Seeing his friends interviewed on tv im not impressed. They blame Jodi for Travis’ pig personality. Sorry, but that aint true.
Jodi was and is a deeply troubled person who was depressed, lonely and desperate to be loved. Not an excuse for killing him, BUT Travis’s sole interest was to degrade, abuse and humiliate her. He kept luring her back after telling her to go.
There are going to be so many times Travis can tell her i am going to tie you to a tree and rape you and youre sole purpose in life is to please me (slave much?) before Jodi is going to wake up and snap.
He also kept reminding her that she was a whore and he was dating good Mormon girls in hopes of getting married. His gross friends dont seem to think there was anything wrong with this.
Which reminds me of Phil Spectors first trial. It ended in a hung jury because a Mormon male juror decided the victim got what she deserved.
I think what Jodi did premeditate was a classic if i cant have him nobody will murder-suicide, but instead he did and said some more creepy things and she killed him in rage.

Very interesting, Eve. I haven’t been watching Dr. Drew… usually too much else on to distract me. That said, only the juror is bound by the innocent until proven guilty stuff. It’s human nature for everyone to have an opinion. Dr Drew isn’t a journalist, he’s a TV pundit… What does the jury do for Dr. Drew? It would seem like they are tainted by media so not that reliable.

Dr. Drews juror are a few people who are sitting in the courtroom as observers. So, they give their opinions are “everyday” people coming to court.
I understand having an opinion before the trial is done, but it seems extremely bias this time. Well, with the exception of Beth Karas, she is always professional and doesnt take sides.
I know Jodi is lying a lot, i guess i just want to hear the rest of what she has to say. What i have definitely decided is that she is extremely annoying and seems creepy too. 🙂

Okay, I call Bullshit. Killing someone out of rage is murder — not self-defense; not justifiable homicide; not manslaughter. She murdered him and should be put to death if the jury buys premeditation (and packing a gun and knife into a bathroom while victim is taking a shower sounds like premeditation to me — but, hey, I’m a cop’s kid and “hang ’em high” is my three-word criminal justice philosophy). If it was not premeditated, it should be life in prison. Jodi Arias gets no sympathy from me, no matter how much of a scumbag Travis was or might have been.

Wouldn’t make me kill anyone. Sorry. I would just … leave. Like I have done when I had guys treat me like that. Doesn’t wash. This was not abuse. She was used and was willing to be used. When he didn’t want her anymore, she had a hissy fit and finished him off. Guilty as charged!

Eve, just came across this site. IMHO, You have nailed this on the head!! Are we the only people that see it just this way?? Thank you for putting into words my exact thoughts on how this happened!! Travis was far from perfect. I envision her giving him kinky sex that day then him throwing in her face he had to get ready for his Cancun trip and/or telling her she needed to leave before his roommates got home. Don’t know how I feel about her bringing the gun or premeditation but a lot a weird behavior beforehand strongly suggests it! None of this should have led to murder but I can certainly understand a last straw moment.

This trial is slow. And it is absolutely amazing to me the amount of detail she is able to remember about every freaking day of her life with Travis. I think she will be able to recall in vivid detail why she attacked him that day. However I have a sneaky suspicion she’s going to not be able to recall in such detail how she murdered him. It’s all going to be a “blur” where she “blacked-out” or something along those lines

Defense attorneys always ‘restyle’ their clients – the blonde hair is too vixen like – brown I am assuming is less so.

    This trial may never end.

In other news I have read in South Africa there are no jury trials at all – so that verdict may be decided before this one!

There must be some defense technique to dragging this all out so much but I can’t figure out what that would be.

she had already been a brunette again before arrest. The defense has nothing to do with her hair color. The change in hair color questions are about her trying to disguise herself after the murder.

I am betting there will be a delay tomorrow when they start the testimony about the murder. No way will she be this calm.

Her chair at the defense table is deliberately set much lower than the attorneys. I am not sure if they are allowed to monkey with the witness box chair.

Am I the only one having a hard time focusing on the monotone testimony? I’ve been waiting on it for days but I keep zoning out while listening. The jury is probably bored.

That is completely false. For one thing, she stands for the jury every time whether on the stand or at the defense table. Clearly the jury sees her and is aware of her size. They have seen her nekkid ffs!

They do put her on the stand before the jury comes in and she stays there until they leave because she is in leg irons and they don’t want the jury to see them as it could be considered prejudicial.

She has both. The stun belt is not apparent but the leg irons cause her gait to be off, which is why they don’t show her walking. So while she does where a stun belt, her waist is quite visible to the jury when she stands for them but the belt is not noticable. The leg irons are actually up just above her knee so they are not visable either but limit the amount she can bend her knees so she walks kinda funny.

But you are 100 she does stand, though I doubt anyone could truly gauge her size in the positions she is in those pics (GUUUH!!) with those ridiculous braids (PAAALEEEZ!!) After reading the comments here I actually sat down and watched her testimony today. She absolutely did stand and I could tell she was wearing the stun belt. I am completely amazed anyone could sit through her inability to recall she stabbed him repeatedly (much less cutting his neck back to his spinal cord!). Not to mention he wrestled with her and told her “I am going to kill you bitch!” with a bullet that entered the top of his head and lodged in his JAW!!! Kudos! to such a vague recollection of the only interesting part of the trial! Damn I am bored! Oooo, wait! I wanna see the Prosecution! Tell me they can liven her up (no pun intended). Because she is trying to convince them that she is traumatized from being a battered woman. As a battered woman myself I would defend my ex by down-playing an injury. She is doing the same while on trial. It shows trauma and a hint of PTSD. The problem with this “act,” for me, is that I don’t buy it. Most women who are freed of those relationships no longer down-play the abuse after counseling and help from professionals (which she has had).
