Shahs Recap: Sort of…

January 27, 2013 by tamaratattles 29 Comments

Shahs of Sunset - Season 2To be quite honest, I really don’t want to watch Shahs of Sunset anymore. I was lucky enough to befriend Asa, MJ and Reza before the show even started because I was the first blog to become obsessed with them. During season two, I am supposed to pick sides (and to a degree I have) and Reza has blocked me on twitter. Things are ugly and out of control on season two and I don’t like it. I can barely stand to watch tonight.

I’m already pissed. Suddenly Reza and Asa are friends. WHY? Because they were our two favorites last season. We should all forget that Reza was a little bitch to her last year.  Also, I think I will just call Reza the faggot this season. I mean it as a term of endearment! How can no one see that! GAWD! It’s just like how he calls women bitches and hoes (including his own grandmother). Because who doesn’t think it is funny to call your elderly grandmother a bitch!  So the fag goes to meet with Asa (see! It’s Soo funny! if you are in middle school)  and she pretends to like him… Reza gives Asa a citrine for her show.  I am pretty sure that her show is the finale. Is it time already?

ShahRezaJellySuddenly, Reza is the peacemaker. Bravo should make these fucktards stay in thier fake storyline on twitter. GG and Lilly? My TV may explode. Of course the convo is about how much surgery they have had done at age 30. GG has had her gums lightened. Lilly is pissed because she didn’t know that was a thing. She is off to call her doc. I think everyone goes snipe hunting after this scene.

Asa is REALLY getting the scenes. Reza must be pissed. Talking about Persian Palooza being in 3 days. Must be showing things way out of order. Asa would be a great closing scene. I wonder what was better. Oh I see that next week is the season finale. I knew that Persian Palooza was filmed as the finale. This season seems to have been both short and long at the same time.

Reza and GG scene. He is trying to get everyone together. Really? Doesn’t he blame MJ for not supporting him in his fight with GG? Now he is negotiating a peace treaty with GG and Asa? Can SOMEONE get the storyline straight? I thought that the reason he trashes MJ at every turn now was because of a mean email that GG sent to everyone about him and for MJ not cutting all ties with her because of that. What is then newest excuse for his mistreatment of MJ? I can’t seem to keep up.

MJ and her Mother. I just can’t. Her mother is horrible. Lilly cant pronouced hijab. SIGH. Therapy with MJ and her mom. MJ’s moms first thing is LISTEN TO ME! Manage your time. Don’t be late. Less shopping. Find the right man. MJ’s list is all about love and understanding and to stop criticizing. MJ’s mom is clueless.

So Sammy has everyone over to his house so that Reza can hold a peace conference. When GG comes in she snubs Asa despite the fact that she is there to apologize to Asa. I think GG was probably just nervous and uncomfortable and was worried that Asa would rebuff her if she tried the greet and kiss routine. Mike seems to realize that the season has ended and he hasn’t done anything interesting. He decides to start some beef with Omid. Omid is wearing some sort of feather contraption on his head. I really don’t know how to describe it to those of you not watching. It’s a big feather and it seems like it has been sewn into the middle of his head. He is also wearing some purpley pink britches.  Remember at the beginning of the season when everyone was wondering if Omid plays for the other team? Let’s just say this outfit did nothing to quiet that sort of gossip. When Reza’s outfit is less gay than yours… you might want to sit quietly with yourself and listen to your inner feelings.  In this feather get up, Omid decides to try to go all alpha male on Mike. At one point Omid wants to break Mike’s legs. I don’t get where Omid’s anger is coming from since Omid said he was the one talking shit around town.

ASAPHEONIXMARKGG begins to realize that her um…boyfriend, Omid Featherhead, is out doing her on the hair-trigger anger front, jumps up and grabs a lovely carving knife that seemed to be there just in case anyone needs a deadly weapon and announces if there is going to be a stabbing then she is going to be the stabber, dammit. Everyone gets seperated, Omid leaves, and the Asa-Gigi peace summit can finally begin. Asa fires the first shot telling Gigi shes a horrible souless person who she refuses to be friends with before Gigi can even get out the lines her therapist provided. The show abruptly ends, and will resume at the dinner party next week. I expect to see a Teresa Giudice type table flip.  Then we will end with Persian Palooza.

I can’t imagine what this reunion willl be like. I ended last season suggesting that MJ move far, far away from the madness that is her “friends” and “family.” I stand by that suggestion this season.

I thought that Asa was supposed to be “The Persian Pop Princess”. That wasn’t singing. It was reading out loud. She was worse than any of the housewives.

Her mentor, the Persian Tom Jones, seemed less than impressed with her abilities too. BTW, how does one become the Persian Pop Princess without ever having performed? Aren’t self-proclamations’s grand.

She looks like she is a mess next week. If I wasn’t so over this show I might have watched but I think I will just wait for the recap. They have been way better than the actual show,

Instead of recording *Shameless* on Showtime I think I will just watch it instead of either RHA or Shahs as they both just suck this season. MJ’s mom is so horrible even worse than my own who I finally gave up on and walked away from years ago. TT the whole show does seem so fake and scripted. When did GG and Lilly become friends? Tamra I know I zoned out on thirty percent of this show as it was so bad. Boring and fake as hell. I hope you get well rested tonight and feel better in the morning.

what happened to GG sending Reza some awful email? why is there some beef between omod and mike now? I dont get it. why did GG pick up the knife and leave the house? the editing sucks for this show… Reza sucks and So does the forever annoying Asa , I did not like her first season and I dont like her this season. I still like MJ. GG is on meds? she’s a lot faker, with high pitched laugh she does. I thought we were going to get a little meat and potatoes about why she is so darn angry all the time. we got nothing but some therapy term called shuttle, which bravo took the time out to make it look like she has multi personalities, so very clever bravo. lack luster episode.

TT, I couldn’t waste my time blogging about this show. So fake, so stupid. All backstabbers. Let’s not even begin with Reza, he and ASA is one of the main reasons I will not watch another episode. In my opinion, Bravo needs to cut this major lost.

I just can’t anymore. I stopped watching after the 3rd show, well really 2.5, I couldn’t even make it through the entire episode. I read your recap and call it a day.

At this point thank god for Downton Abby because it is way more entertaining than ATL or Shahs. Seriously who in a million years would ever think the above sentence would be typed, yes PBS show is bringing more drama than ATL and Shahs combined.

Now that feathers are out for women (where they ever really ‘in?’) – Omod is wearing them in his hair? That was the most entertaining part of this entire episode. Omod getting called out for this douching accessory and stroking his hair obsessively to make sure they were in place. Otherwise…zzzzzzz

This show has become so bad.I was unable to get through the entire show in one sitting. The dynamic is a bit more fun to watch without Lilly (I still haven’t figured out what she brings to the show except annoyance), but in reality Asa and Reza’s egos are off the charts so even watching their nicer scenes are leaving me cold.

After watching WWHL and seeing both Asa and Andy surprised that Gigi and Asa were pretty much tied in support makes me realize that the reunion is going to be disappointing since it appears neither realize that many are turned off by Asa (and Reza) this year and I think it is going to be another pile on MJ fest which is not my idea of entertainment. Too bad Andy didn’t realize that many voted for Gigi simply because they can’t support Asa this year.

Thankfully there is the remote control.. magic, poof, their gone.

Love the summary Tamara! Reza sucks. I’m glad you’re becoming aware of it, and I appreciate the lesson you’re bringing. As a gay man I’m not offended and I see the point you successfully made. Some gay men like Reza think that it’s hilarious to call people names, but only see hate when they get called a name themselves.

Hate Rezajoon. MJ needs help for whatever it is she’s supposedly not doing. Asa’s gross and weird. Mike’s gross. GG needs the most help out of the group (and they all need help to a degree).

I’ve noticed that over the past few years my gay friends have phased out calling each other derogatory names for gays. I think the media coverage of all the bullying of young kids made everyone realize it’s not really cute. You are right, Reza can’t see the connection. Women make this worse by calling each other bitches which makes guys think it is okay. Especially gay guys who are always hanging out with the girls.

I CAN’T UNDERSTAND anyone talking about their grandmother by calling her a bitch in a joking sense. Maybe that is just a southern thing. Grandmas down here don’t play that!

I have noticed that too. I never liked those terms and I’m glad to see them go. I especially hated the “she” and “her” used when speaking of other men, WTF is the point of that? Maybe at some point Reza will notice that speaking that way dates him… as in… reminds people of his age… (his age is sexy to me, but he apparently wants to be 21 forever and is into silly twinks and their armpits, so I don’t give a shit if he finds it offensive to be reminded how old he really is)

IMO what was endearing last year was their relationships even though flawed and how they seemed to genuinely care for each other. . Now that has been taken away and we are left with nothing except watching 1 hour of materialistic mean girls, hawking their products, watching Reza take a different side each week.
There is nothing redeeming or endearing about any of it.

As for the Mike and Omid fight I think they were both just vying for the Doodoo Talal award to try to prove their manhood. They should’ve both just picked a tree and peed on it, marked their territory and let it be over.

As for the non-entity known as lily, I guess in her world that as long as you are “pretty and skinny” then all is ok and it is also ok for her friend Reza to call her and other women bitches and a ho’s but gets insulted when someone (MJ) calls her an aquaintance. I wonder if she would have liked MJ if she was what she considers skinny and pretty.

Maybe they should take a page from Dallas and if there is a next season they can claim this season was nothing but Reza’s bad dream? If it is a continuation of this, I won’t be watching.

Great recap Tamara even though there was not much of substance to recap.

What I fail to understand is why GG even cares what the “Persian pop princess” has to say about her. TRUE good hearted people filled with “love” accept forgiveness. If they refuse they are no better than the person they refuse to “forgive” anyway who made her so cool that GG should care. GG comes off a little cray-cray but atleast she’s allowing herself to be vulnerable by admitting her imperfections. The “Persian pop princess” is grandiose and self-absorbed. If she truley had love in her heart (enough to put into water) she would get over the nonsense. I heart MJ for being so vulnerable with her mom. She has a great therapist and I hope she can see the goodness that lies deep within.

Good hearted people forgive and move on. Also since when is being called an aquaintance a bad thing? If the shoe fits. It does not even pay to try and get things right within this group it seems.

I’m a gay guy and I don’t like how Reza comes off doing the things that make people don’t like us in the first place. Rubbing your face and wanting to lick armpits and kissing anyone who just happens to rub up against us is sending the wrong message about gays. And if Shahs wants to prove that they are not the stereo-typical terrorists you only have to look at GG and prove them wrong all the way down to her spitting on the carpet to her donkey tail extensions. Asa worships a diamond infused tank that looks like a suppository and her ego is one too. I do have hope for Mike and MJ. I think MJ drinks to cover up her bruised self-esteem but she is getting help through therapy and I admire that. Oh, and to answer your question you have been dead-on accurate on your blog about Shahs. Bravo should take their loss on this on and run as fast as they can and send these Persians a one-way ticket back to the desert where they belong.

I wouldnt agree as Asa as being one of the favorites last season! Shes boring and no one cares about her being a self proclaimed PPP! All her scenes this season are boring. Fast forward to Reza not wanting to hear and sort of negative on twitter. Tamara, seriously your twitter feed is better without him! Hate his attitude and someone need to tell him to shut the fuck up cause no one likes to hear someone bash their supposed friend of 20+ years over and over for what… Attention? MJ is the best part of the show! Refreshing she has not changed from last season! Crazy as ever!

I think the edit was nuts. When it seemed like mj’s mom I terrupted her to talk about hair? Totally out of context. She pulled her hair back and the next sentence, it was in the front again. The edit cut gg after she said hi to most of them, but I thin, before she acknowledged Asa.

I think mj’s shrink is a quack enabler. Mj ‘s list basically said that she wanted to be able to do anything she wants without criticism. Her mothers list was just asking her to grow up. I think her parents fund her life. The shrink saying she’s an adult and should be treated like one regardless of the person culture is bull. Because if that is the case, then they should cut out the Persian tradition of funding their kids. I think her mom was honestly trying and very upset. She went to therapy for gods sake. But if my kid were ad bratty as mj, I’d be on her too.

It’s not that I don’t like her. It’s that…she just needs to grow up. Reza is only nice to her when he can get her to do whatever he wants. Whether that be siding with him or playing the fool at a club. She doesn’t seem to have any genuine friendships (except maybe gg, who she fucked over because it was easier), let alone a relationship with a man.

I guess it just seems like they all only treat people with kindness in an effort to gain something.

Did you notice lily breaking character btw. When she was talking to Ali’s friend she got so pissed that he spoke like a normal person rather than an affected kardashian.

Oh and the knife thing was utter bull. No one was holding it in a threatening way. I gg was not angry. She was joking. And Asa is a fucking dick for expecting everyone to bow to her and her fake ass gem feeling “spirituality”. As gg said, If she were truly a spiritual person, she would forgive gg and try to help her instead of being a diva jockeying for position and popularity.

I think the GG anger story line is completely fake. It hasn’t been revealed that she’s been arrested or involved in any sort of crazy altercation though she’s always threatening to use her knives and taser. She’s just one of those girls who likes to run her mouth but won’t ever do anything. Even at the pool party she just ran at Asa and she was easily tipped over and eventually carried out.
