Kim Zolciak Wig Update…

November 2, 2012 by tamaratattles 36 Comments

Kim tweeted this picture of her real hair today after having it styled. I can’t imagine why anyone would wear a hot wig in hot Atlanta summers with hair that pretty. It just doesn’t make sense.

Also today, Glamour magazine published and interview where she talks openly about how hard it was for her in the first seasons of RHOA to read everyone’s comments about how old she looks, and how bad the original wigs looked. Click through for an excerpt with a link to the entire interview.

Here is part of Kim’s interview with Glamour..

What did you think the first time you saw yourself on  television? Kim: Well honestly, I was like, “My  makeup is horrible.” And I didn’t really like it in person, but I thought with  TV you need it more, but that really wasn’t the case. And my wig was so  horrible. I just remember thinking, “Wow, that’s a whole lot of makeup. I need  to go back and do my own makeup. And I need a human-hair wig because this wig is  not working.”

How is filming different from the first season, when you didn’t  really know what to expect, versus now? Kim: You  know, season 1, we had no idea how successful this show was going to be. We had  no idea what to expect. As the years went on, you have a great glam squad. As  you know now, I have a makeup artist that knows I don’t like a whole lot of  makeup. She knows that I don’t like a whole lot of foundation on my face. I have great skin. I spend a lot of money on my skin, so I do not need a whole bunch of  makeup. So now I think I have a great “glam squad” that knows me. I’ve had to  sit through so many people to get to that place. And now, it’s a lot different.  I think that I know what to expect. I work in my tanktop in my house these days.  I definitely don’t do that on camera. I try not to, although there’s times when  you see me running around this season in sweatpants because I’ve got so much  going on. I just think that having the right team behind you and trying  different things. I’ve got new wigs. I felt really hard in season 1 and 2, and  then I started doing my own makeup and changed the wigs up. It’s all in good  fun, but the criticism was hard in the beginning.

Her real hair looks pretty, but for some reason she likes big hair!

I have to admit, she looks very pretty..and wigs are fine, but sometimes they can be a crutch..and she truly looks alot prettier with her natural hair..the wigs no matter how well done/expensive, still look fake..and can make one look older..

To me she looks good but she looks so different with her real hair I think she needs to drop those wigs and just do her cause she’s beautiful without the wigs

You DO come off as kind of pathetic Paula Lee. Idol worshiping a self claimed liquor- guzzling, chain-smoking, side piece? Really? You clearly have self esteem issues that you need to work on.

@ANON, calling someone pathetic is a little harsh don’t ya think? Telling someone that they “clearly have self-esteem issues”, are you a therapist now, or just in a bad mood and want to take it out on someone. Either way, maybe you should chill.

Paula, not sure if you are new here or not, but I do hope you have some thick skin.. These bitches on here are deadly! They lay and wait, for someone to say something nice about someone they dont like and then they pounce! I must confess I have done my share of the “lay and wait”. So…. put on your big girl panties, pull up your boots, and hang onto you hat honey, cuz its gonna be a bumpy ride!

Donna, you know I love you, but Paula Lee shows up in the middle of the night professing her undying love for a half a dozen different bravolebrities. Her opinion is always YOU ARE PRETTY! You are so perfect! I totally get Anon’s post. It’s one thing to say someone is pretty or you admire them. But if that is your only post about people… it’s kinda weird.

Also I wish Anon would join us with a name. Any name. Bob is fine. lol. Carry on.

What a shallow woman! How is it different after 4 years and as deep as she gets is hair and make up people. She still looks a lot older than she claims, but with as thick as her make up seems, she really must have good skin.

She looks gorgeous here. During the first season, I think she had “hair issues”. She is a lot prettier now. Access to a “glam squad” makes a big difference.

Anon, while I did just ask you to join us full time with some sort of a name… you’re gonna have to work on your flaming skills if you wanna hang with the big dogs. This ain’t your mama’s real housewife board. Still, I hope you pick a name and hang out.

no such thing as too much hair to put under a wig. if us black women with full heads of hair can nestle it under lace fronts or sew ins it can certainly be done. contrary to popular belief wig, weave does not equal little hair!
