Tre Huggers everywhere were gleefully reporting on Melissa Gorgas criminal history last week. I mentioned in comments in the Joe Giudice court drama thread that the Melissa story was a non-issue. It was a misdemeanor retail theft charge from when she was 18 years old. Yet, certain factions of RHONJ fans were sure that the Florida charge would now catch up to her and she would go to Rikers Island on a life sentence. Instead, last Wednesday the charges were dismissed by administrative order. I suppose we can all rest easy now that Melissa is no longer considered a threat to society. Thanks @stark3923 for the research on this story. Update: Chris Stark has more to say about this very serious issue.
I’m really not sure why anyone cares, but here is what Chris’s research shows:
#rhonj FACTS: Melissa Gorga Shoplifting Case was dismissed BECAUSE of a 15th Circuit Judicial Circuit Administrative Order #4.605 and #4.6.25 = in 2008 a judicial order which basically states a misdemeanor case prior to 2008 with no activity on it for 5 years can be dismissed by a simple administrative order. A phone to the Palm Beach County Courthouse apprising them to activate this administrative order is all it would have taken to have Melissa Gorga case dismissed Oct 10, 2012.
Anyone stating this case was resolved years ago and the open arrest warrant was a clerical error is misinformed. I checked that to…
Bottom line is Melissa Gorga was arrested for shoplifting and agreed to appear in court to answer to the charges. Melissa failed to honor her word to the judge and the judge issued a bench warrant for her arrest. The store Melissa Shoplifted at has since been sold to Macy’s. No complaining witness.
Melissa evades being held responsible because of TIME. Moral of the story is if you get caught breaking the law in Florida…avoid detection for 5 years = then you get to have a clean record and can not be held accountable for your actions.

Thank you Jeeeeeeeeeeeesus! (sign of the cross made with the wrong hand.)
shoplifting, getting arrested, then failure to appear before the judge really is criminal behavior. it does speak to one’s character (or lack thereof) so while this isn’t an earth shattering event, it is still evidence to consider if you’re gonna gauge this hooker’s credibility. well, this and her hyper-inflated lippers. happy friday ya’ll!
How could she be 18 in 2006 when she’s 31 years of age?
it shows that it happened in 1997 on there.
It happened in 1997. I cannot fathom why people are so interested in this.
Ah ok. Didn’t see that over there. Isn’t really all that serious? Her being a stripper before doesn’t bother me. Her personality on the other hand does bother me. Lol I think she’s been preparing for her spotlight for years and she’s pissed that she’s gotta share it with her sister-in-law. Well she’s mad the sister in law won’t willingly share her spotlight. All that being said, keep Melissa she’s cute and I love Poison.
Geez. How embarrassing.
So a person who supports Teresa and not Melissa or let’s say even sides with Teresa is a Tree Hugger? I guess you’re one too Tamara.
You’re not sure why anyone cares? Then why do a post then?
The reason why people care is because sticky fingers Melissa is going to the Press constantly with outlandish stories, bringing up stuff that happened years ago, bringing out every skeleton she thinks Teresa has. Oddly enough, Melissa has her own skeletons
Just because this was dropped don’t mean a crime was not committed.
Why bother putting Stark has this this to say, then put not sure why anyone cares. Obviously people do care, sites reported on it. If you don’t care and have to be so rude about it, blog about your ghetto Atlanta wanna be celebs.
Sometimes I am a Tre Hugger, sometimes I’m not. It’s called looking at individual situations and then forming an opinion rather than being a deranged ride or die Stan of either Melissa or Tre neither of whom deserve anyone’s undying loyality. In this case, I think this particular situation is a bunch of people getting all worked up over something a grown woman may or may not have done when she was 18. Something she was not convicted of, btw. Hope anyone can be team Tre in every situation amazes me. I put Stark has to say because she is the one that sent me the information. She appears to have gone to a lot of trouble to research it, and I put it on the blog because rabid Tre Huggers keep asking about it.
I don’t have to be rude about, I enjoy being rude about it. You must be new. You seem like a very kind hearted person who doesn’t rush to judgement or go on smear campaigns about random housewives. Oh wait, no you don’t, so you may want to get back up on that high horse of yours and ride your fatass outta here, because if you thought this post was rude, some others may give you a case of the vapors.
lol comment moderating!
If I found out Melissa Gorga was arrested at age 18 for shoplifting and paid a $50 fine….big deal case closed
HOWEVER….
…IMO the story had value because Melissa skipped out on her arrest and failed to take responsibility….
Melissa own blood relative (Marco) gave the scoop to me…..Melissa relative knew Melissa had an active live arrest warrant out for failure to appear and take responsibility for her youthful actions in Florida…..
That to me is a big deal…..
Thanks for the story, Chris. I didn’t mean to offend you when I said I didn’t get why people are so worked up about it. I posted it because I seem to be in the minority on this issue. 🙂 And that’s okay. It makes for interesting conversations, right?
Also who is Marco and why does he feel the need to rat out Melissa? What’s that all about?
u did not offend me at all…. i think ur blog is very accurate…. i like ur website the best because you are well rounded in all hot topics…..
Marco is Melissa Gorga cousin who is angry that she thinks she is all that and a bag of chips….to famous now for her relatives = jealousy = revenge and he hates her sisters…..
im offended u dont follow me on twitter my love….
Please, someone, anyone, please, please, please contact Nancy Grace. We need to get this judgment overturned. Melissa must pay for her sordid past. I will not rest until I see Melissa in a jail cell (preferably next to Juicy Joe). Other than that, have a nice weekend.
Get over it, Stephen!
