Taking a Short Break

May 25, 2012 by tamaratattles 26 Comments

Sorry y’all. My dog, Banjo who is not even three years old suddenly became unable to walk/use his back legs. He’s 68 pounds so I’m having to help him get out to potty and give him his meds. Meanwhile, I’m having pretty much a total freak out. I’m going to try to blog again soon. Meanwhile, thanks for your concern and enjoy the long weekend!

Wishing for fast recovery for Banjo!I don't wish to impose, but please know this comes from a genuine place: although not knowing at all what might be wrong with Banjo, diet seems to be such a huge culprit with humans that it might not be so far fetched to think that it might cause problems with other mammals as well. The BARF diet is supposed to be a good natural alternative for dogs.

If he's taking meds you've already taken him to the doctor. Just keep giving him his meds, keep a watchful eye, think positive and be patient he will have a turn around. Best wishes Ban,P

I was about to say that "It never seizes to amaze me how people are willing to spend their energy on hatred", but then I remembered that the teenage years weren't that easy and spewing out whatever was just normal. So never mind ๐Ÿ™‚

It amazes me that bloggers can write whatever they want about others—most of it with little to no proof, then write their opinions with rude tones within their posts and the moment the blogger is criticized all of a sudden folks are "haters". But writing stories about people with your opinions and other rude comments are viewed as "spilling the tea". If you can dish it, be prepared to take it.

Thanks you guys. Banjo is on the mend. It's still going to be a bit of a struggle, and he's still wobbly but we are improving. I won't be posting a ton but will try to get here when I can! ๐Ÿ™‚

Aw, thanks for asking. When the vet was explaining things I was having a bit of a panic attack but from what I gleaned, the x-rays showed two places on his spine that were out of alignment. My theory is that he may have wrenched his back frolicking about. He is a very bouncy dog. There is so much spring in his step that he always seems to be jumping with each forward motion. Part of me wonders though if it is not congenital or at least something that happened before I adopted him because in hindsight, he has always stretched his back out like a cat, had some weird posture moments, etc. He's on steroids which are helping, but I am not sure if he will need a very expensive surgery as well. ๐Ÿ™ I'm considering taking him to a doggie Chiropractor. Which sounds ridiculous but if they could realign him without surgery…

I love dogs too. Just rub his tummy a lot and talk to him. And I definitely vote for the doggie chiropractor.

I absolutely love your description of Banjo – who should forever more be known as "the very bouncy dog" – love it…You are probably onto something with the congenital idea…I vote for the chiropractor also – it may help your very bouncy dog and save you some $…Hope you 2 have a good night's sleep…PS:Thank you for changing the type on the verify code – can't tell you how many of my posts never went thru…
