Will Kandi Burruss Be on Season Five of Real Housewives of Atlanta?

March 9, 2012 by tamaratattles 6 Comments

When looking at this season’s storylines to see who will not make the cut for season five of Real Housewives of Atlanta, it seems like Kim is likely to stay, but what about the rest of the smalls? As far as storylines go, Kandi really didn’t have a huge one this season. We all remember her birthday party for the Bravo cameras and the whole RiDICKulous fiasco.  She also had some good scenes with Mama Joyce and that memorable trip to the sex toy store to shop for ideas for Bedroom Kandi. But all of Kandi’s scenes are a less than genuine because she doesn’t interact with any of the cast outside the cameras and we don’t see much of her real life. Let’s face it, Kandi is a business mogul in her own right. She has her act together and is fairly low drama. Bravo has tried to make her a shit stirrer this season, and had some success with it, but that role is eventually going to takes it’s toll on her. However, most signs point to Kandi staying as well. Let me tell you why…

Straight from the A has a great post about who might be the new housewife next season. Be sure to go and check it out. She has great sources and seems to think Toya Wright is the front runner to be the next housewife. Toya is no stranger to reality TV and is actually friends with Kandi and Phaedra. In addition to that, in a recent interview with Concrete Loop, Kandi seemed to be planning to stay with RHOA and doing more episodes of The Kandi Factory.

Here’s a bit from Concrete Loop’s Exclusive Interview with Kandi be sure to click the link to read the whole interview.

CL: So what is the future of Atlanta Housewives,? I don’t know about you, but for me, it’s been kind of dry this season. Not you personally, but a few of the characters I think need to be replaced to add more life to it. So what’s your take on the future of the ATL Housewives franchise?

Kandi: Well they are going to replace somebody this coming season…We don’t know who they are casting. So they are going to make a change this coming year. We don’t have any say so in that so this is not me trying to tell what’s going on. It’s just me being real about it. They get mad when we say too much or whatever. But it’s no secret they are interviewing new people. So they’re going to shake things up maybe. I don’t know what they’re going to do. As far as me, I can see myself doing it one more year.

CL: Yeah, I think you should definitely stay. I’ll be blunt. I say Sheree or Kim needs to be replaced. It’s just the same dried up stories over and over. You can only watch but the same thing over and over. At least when you’re on there, you’re still yourself but you have a lot going on, so you’re always going to have something to talk about. So that’s just my opinion. [laughs]

Kandi: [laughs] Thank you. I appreciate it. I mean I don’t know who it would be. I do know that a lot of us have our own thing going on. I hope everything goes well with this Kandi factory situation and we are talking about the future of doing more of that but contrary to what has been reported, saying I want to leave because I have my own show. That’s not the case. What I plan to do is to just do both. That’s if they still want me on Housewives, I would do both. I’m not trying to leave one for the other.

So it seems pretty likely that Kandi will be back for season five. How do you feel about that?

Noooooo … I think Kandi needs to branch off on her own!! (me being totally selfish so I don't have to FFd the DVR) … LOLI like the dynamic between Kandi and Phaedra though .. so I'd miss that … but I still think she should just do the Kandi Factory. Leave RHOA to the Faux-Rich HWs (except Phaedra).

Kandi should branch off on her own and do the Kandi Factory. But she and Phaedra do shoot good scenes. Kandi is very down to earth, and is very popular though. So I doubt she'll get the boot.
