Shahs of Sunset will be premiering on Bravo in 23 days. I know this because I follow the entire cast on twitter and they are all kinds of excited. I’ve been blogging about Shahs of Sunset for ages so to get caught up, you can read here, and some juicy stuff here, and most recently here when the cast list was released. As soon as the cast list came out, I began following them on twitter immediately and quickly discovered that one of the cast members that I called a “sockless wonder” in an earlier blog had read the comment and tweeted about it. Thus began my current love affair with Reza Farahan.
As you know, I recently had to break up with Bravo Andy, and my relationship with Anderson Cooper is on the rocks, so I was perhaps a bit vulnerable when the latest gay man on a TV show began making advances. Not surprisingly, my heart was stolen rather easily by my little sockless wonder. So far, it’s been smooth sailing and a happy upbeat relationship. Click on the video for a short clip about the show. After the jump I’ll give you all the tea…

Reza Farahan having some me time. |
Reza Farahan is a big time real estate agent in Los Angeles. He has sold properties to the rich and famous including Ziggy Marley and Bob Harper from the biggest loser. He would have fit right in with the cast of Million Dollar Listing on Bravo. Incidentally, Million Dollar Listing New York premieres March 7th. He seems to be very close with all the cast members but perhaps closest Mercedeh Javid (MJ) since they work for different branches of the same real estate company and network in the same business circles.
Iranians, or Persians if you prefer, are a colorful bunch. In every sense of the word and Reza is no exception. Reza is a huge fashionista. In addition to the Borghese Mud Mask he’s enjoying in the picture on the right, he’s definitely the type to have regular mani-pedis! Since my initial sockless wonder comment, he has made sure to let me know that he does indeed have an extensive collection of lovely socks including his latest Ralph Lauren pink cashmere acquisitions. Speaking of pink, you can expect a lot of it along with purple and other vibrant shades, not just on Reza but on all the cast mates. All of them have a vibrant color palette in their closets.

The colorful personalities are going to come out on the show and you can expect the requisite fights and heated arguments we have come to expect from Bravo reality TV. But Reza promises there will be some deeply personal moments of a family nature. Reza’s mother while very accepting of his sexuality. has offered him $500,000 to get married and have a baby. I, of course, have offered up a scenario or two to Reza regarding this issue and well… me, but so far he has not accepted my kind-hearted and unselfish offers. Reza will be the first to tell you he is in the top 1% of Persians when it comes to looks. I imagine he will find an enterprising way to replicate himself at some point. I think he may be waiting for human cloning so that he doesn’t have to dilute his genes. I think you will see that all the cast mates have close relationships with their mothers. Some of the mothers will appear on the show offering the Persian version (expect to hear those two words together a lot) of motherly advice.
The best news is that unlike the Real Housewives of Atlanta, the gay member of the cast will not be teetering around in high heels or gluing on sequins to cover his facial outbreaks on national televsion. Reza is a real man with a real job that doesn’t involve styling anyone other than himself. That said, he will bring the drama and the laughter. I am banking on him having all the quotes that make the blogs on Monday. After all, the show starts with him saying “Hello, We’re Persian!”
It’s not just Reza that has me under his spell, MJ and Asa are also rather endearing. If their mission is to make me go soft on them once the season starts, they are in for a big surprise! Oh who am I kidding? I am already putty in their hands. I will be blogging about Asa, a talented artist, and MJ, a big time real estate agent on the prowl for love, before the premiere. Meanwhile, the countdown to Shahs of Sunset continues.
To read about other cast members on Shahs of Sunset, my post about Asa Soltan Rahmati is here, Mike Shouhed can be read here, my post about Mecedeh Javid can be read here, my post about Sammy Younai can be read here. and my post about Reza Farahan can be read here. Shahs of Sunset premieres Sunday, March 11th on Bravo.
Shahs of Sunset will air on Sunday nights on Bravo at 10 p.m. starting March 11th.
From what I have seen of the show so far, Ms. Reza is far too effeminate for my tastes. Why does Bravo continue to always promote the gay stereotypes. They may make a lot of money from this clown, but it hurts the gay community as a whole.
Yes A gay Persian on TV!
That Reza does seem funny… it seems odd that so many of the Bravo cast members are presented to us as RICH…. when in reality that are far from. I pulled up records on a couple of these Shaw cast members and they are hardly rich or comfortable. This Reza person just lost his condo to forclosure, and the other guy on the show lives with his brother after losing everything in Vegas. This Reza likes to keep it 100%….then he needs to keep it a bit more real.
