Vanessa Long Never Changed Her Mind About the Divorce

December 3, 2011 by tamaratattles 9 Comments

There is a lot of speculation around town today that Vanessa NEVER MADE the statement to the media about rescinding the divorce petition. It is being speculated that the church legal team (if any church needs a legal team, it’s this one) sent the announcement regarding rescinding the divorce petition without Vanessa’s knowledge or approval. That would explain why her attorney stated “Mrs. Long continues to hope that this matter may be resolved expeditiously, harmoniously and fairly; however, she has determined that dismissal of her divorce petition is not appropriate at this time. To avoid any undue confusion, Mrs. Long’s future statements, if any, will be issued through her attorneys.“

The petition for divorce which can be read here,  states that the couple is officially separated, and that the marriage is irretrievably broken. She requests that assets be frozen except for payment of necessary bills. She is also seeking alimony, attorneys fees and half the martial property.

So that solves the mystery of the on again off again divorce. It was never off.  Those New Birthers seem to like to think they control things. Thoughts? Leave me a comment and follow me on twitter @tamaratattles .

I wouldn't believe she'd take his child-molesting ass back but after seeing Gloria Cain up on stage today, I'll believe anything.

LOL at Anonymous! I think Vanessa is headed in the right direction. A divorce is never a happy ending. She evidently loved this man with all her heart, although he was (apparently) sharing his with quite a few people. I was surprised that she was withdrawing the divorce petition, but the clarification and the statement that all future statements will come from the attorneys and not the church is exactly what's needed. I feel bad for her.

I could not agree with you more. Eddie Long needs a new advisor. Whomever is advising him to bully his wife at this point is making a terrible mistake. To issue a statement that she OBVIOUSLY did not make was outright stupid. He could have issue his own statement expressing his desire to save his marriage; instead he chose to issue one that was manipulative, at best, and just dispicable at worse. Whether the allegations are true or not, it must be humiliating for her. Instead of concerning himself with her needs he seeks his own public relations ploys.

Wow! I was wondering what happened. I thought it was strange to annouce her fileing for divorce then to change her mind a few hours later. I had thought someone had strongarmed her into retracting the divorce; but it was a lie…..NBBC should be ashamed. I agree with the previous poster (Anonymous 12/5/11 @5:06pm) Eddie Long needs a new advisor-actually an old adviser: GOD…..

I'm with Vanessa. I hope everything is settled fairly between the couple, and their Long Island divorce lawyer.

There must be a deeper reason why these things happened. I agree with the previous comments. It is time for Eddie Long to change his advisor.

It is hard to blame Vanessa. The stress from all the controversies and publicity of these divorce proceedings had made her say and do stuff without proper judgement.
